Lorenc Guesthouse & Hostel in Berat

An amazing experience. Lorenc was so welcoming to our group! He played the guitar for us, told us some local history, and the local wine and food was tasty too!If you want an authentic Berat experience, come here.

Had lunch, very good food, friendly host who spoke fine english. And a wonderfull garden ….

Our room had great views, the hostel is located right in the city center and it has an amazing garden. Lorenc and his family are great hosts! No AC though, it can be hot during the summer, but totally worth it

Nie nocowaliśmy. Właściciel zaprosił nas podczas zwiedzania Beratu. Za miejscami noclegowymi, piękny ogród, w którym poczęstowano nas pyszną kawą i wyśmienitym białym winem własnej produkcji.

I was looking for a local albanian experience and I couldnt choose better than staying at Lorenc’s place. The building is very old, from Ottoman’s times and you feel you are part of the story. It is located on the upper part of the hill so you have a nice view of the river from the terrace.Lorenc speaks perfect English and he likes talking and sharing time with the travellers. He likes telling stories and singing. I read he sings perfectly and he even sang an italian opera for me. The garden is amazing, with lots of plants and a vineyard, perfect for a chill afternoon drinking a coffee and enjoying the peace this place brings.The place is always clean and the room is very comfortable. It is well located and wifi works perfectly. The only con I can tell is that the room is very hot in summer, maybe there is a chance he can provide a fan. I was in a shared room and all the other guests used our room as a corridor to access the garden, I think they should put a sign so people don t use our room to pass :(

Even though we didnt sleep there we had the chance to go a couple of times. WE LOVED IT.Lorenc is a beaitiful person, he talked us about Berat and sang and played some beautiful songs. The food was fenomenal and great price. Also the place is gorgeous (a hidden garden on a little street), the atmosphere he has created is amazing.We totally recommend It and well definitely have to go back.He made us feel really welcomed. Testimo.

We were visiting the old town and had a break à Lorenc’s place.Lorenc is very nice and helpful person. We talked for hours and he shared some stories about Berat, where he was born.He likes to sing and we sang with him.We shared a very nice moment and we witnessed something we did. It expect : the sunset.His place is, maybe, the best place to see the sunset in Berat. The citadel, the Saint Michael church etc… What a view from his beautiful garden.(His house, itself, is located on an historical site)If you like to chill, talk, share stories, this is a place where to spend some time.

Didn’t spend a night there, but had the chance to meet with Lorenc, who spontaneously invited me to visit his guesthouse while seeing me passing on the street. The house and the garden are just great, old authentic style, perfectly maintained, clean, and the garden area is so well taking care of and relax. And Lorenc is so welcoming!

Lorenc’s Guesthouse is a fantastic guesthouse within an amazing location in Gorca, Berat.Berat is a beautiful city and Lorenc also offers historic tours of the city and can provide a detailed insight into the history of Berat.I was very privileged to have stayed at Lorenc’s guesthouse where I enjoyed the amazing food on offer and was able to sit in Lorenc’s bar and enjoyed a sing song and drink.Lorenc is a very talented musician/singer and can speak/sing many different languages.I will be returning there in the future and would highly recommend Lorenc’s guesthouse.

I had mixed feelings after staying here. First of all, i need to say that the owner of the place was super nice and friendly, always willing to give advice and tell interesting facts about the city. The guesthouse is located in a historical building more than 200 year old, it is an example of typical Berat architecture with high ceilings with rich woodcarving, tall windows, and white walls. But thats the problem: as the house is old, its super cold there. I dont know what the part of the bus building was supposed to serve for initially, but it had no fire place, no stove, nothing. The owner didnt equip it with a radiator or air conditioner. As a result, the temperature in my room was the same as outside. When I woke up in the morning, i could see the steam from my breathing. I woke several times during the night, because I was frozen. The owner brought me 3 blankets and a bottle of hot water, he also placed his radiator in the room for one hour, but all this didnt help. Im sure this place is not like that during warm seasons, but staying here in winter is a mistake, believe me. I got sick after one night there, still coughing and sneezing. Definitely not something Id like to have while traveling.

Very cool garden and the owner is an really nice man that makes his own wine, plays guitar and sings for you and can tell you many different stories about the country.We had a very good time here!

If you are looking for a 5 stars accomodation, go somewhere else ....... but as concerning its value for money, Lorenc fully deserves 5 stars. The place is really pleasant: old historical house and a traditional garden where you can eat, relax, chat and sing with Lorenc. He speaks fluent English and Italian and has many interesting things to tell. We really appreciated our time there.

We popped in here for a beer and a Raki. Lovely hidden spot tucked away in Old Town.

It has a hidden „restaurant“ in the garden, where you can go for drinks (home made wineand food at night. We were there for a drink at noon, very nice place and nice owner.

Really welcoming hosts and very nice garden/restaurant. Highly recommended!!

Such a weird owner!! Doesnt know how to run a hostel.. felt really uncomfortable with his music at night.. AVOID !! do NOT recommend!!!

Lorenc es muy amable y atento. La casa está bastante limpia, el jardín es lindo, lleno de vides, ideal para comer o leer. La ubicación es muy buena porque está en la vieja ciudad pero cerca de todo. Buena relación precio calidad!

Un luogo ricco di storia, uno dei soggiorni più belli. Che dire di Lorenc poi, gentilissimo e che vi metterà subito a vostro agio. Consigliatissimo.

Quiet, good location, good staff, cats

We had a nice stay at lorenc’s hostel. Garden is a perfect place to spend a peaceful evening. Breakfast was alright, nothing special to speak about. It’s a heritage building so got a few steps to reach the room. View for the rooms to the river is nice. Also Lorenc is very helpful and access to buses and other groceries isn’t that far. Another hostel right next door but we felt Lorenc was better with a more Albanian home experience.

Me and my family had a great time there.Lorenc Guesthouse is a historical and attractive building,located close to the center.The owner,Lorenc was a very friendly person and his family too.The room where we stayed was really spacious and clean.The garden was so nice, you can enjoy the view there while you drink something.Also the price of the room was cheap,compared with other hostels in Berat.I recommend Lorenc Guesthouse to everyone.Hope Ill be back there someday

We arrived by coincidence in Lorenc House and we were very lucky to find him to pass our two days in Beirat.The rooms are nice, the terrace looks like a harbour of peace where you can enjoy your breakfast in the morning and a delicious and homemade food in the evening.We will not forget the talent of Lorenc as an ancient lyricist.Charles and Lucie

Best owner of guesthouse. One of the best meat Ive ever eaten. Beuatiful cats and garden. Fast wifi (if nobody is connected excxept me). Pros: 8 - 10€ per person

I stopped here for lunch and had the best experience in Albania. We were welcomed in a very warm way and had very fresh and delicious food. If you stay in Berat i definitely recommend this place!

Klimatyczne miejsce z duszą. Właściciel to pasjonat, bardzo gościnny, otwarty i zaangażowany. Niewiele jest miejsc, gdzie tak dba się o gościa.

This is in a big house in the centre of the UNESCO area of Berat. There is a really big garden which is a lovely place to hang out and have a beer. Loren is super friendly guy with great EnglishJust note you need to climb some stairs to get inside and for whatever reason the door room is pretty chilly.

Really nice guesthouse, with a beautiful private garden. We can eat, its really friendly and Lorenc is really kind and curious; we had good days and discussions. He is accomodating recommend !

1. 주방 사용 안됨2. 샤워커튼이 없고 변기와 분리된 공간이 아니라 샤워하고 바닥의 물을 직접 쓸어내고 나와야 함.3. 방문 열쇠나 락커 없음. 옷장은 주인 가족의 물품으로 가득차있음. 방이 전체적으로 많이 어수선함. 사람이 모두 찰 경우 개인물건 놓을 공간 절대 부족.4. 조식은 커피와 계란물 입힌 식빵 두쪽 나옴. 요청하면 줬을지 모르나 잼이나 버터, 과일 한쪽도 없었음.무료 조식이니 기대 안함.5. 방이 너무 추움! 1월 한창 추울때 머물렀던건 사실이나 살다살다 이렇게 추운 방은 처음봄. 400년된 오래된 집이라는데 밖이나 안이나 별 차이 없다고 보면 됨. 난방시설 아무것도 없음. 추운건 아는지 이불을 3개줬는데 그거가지곤 어림도 없어서 옷장에서 담요하나 찾아다 침대에 깔았는데 잠깐 나갔다왔더니 말도없이 홀랑 빼다 가져가버림. 덜덜 떨면서 이불 머리끝까지 뒤집어쓰고 잠. 이불 밖으로 살짝이라도 나온 부분은 시리다 못해 마비가 올 것 같았음. 너무 추워서 자다가 계속 깸..날씨 따뜻할 때면 모를까 추울 때는 절대 가지 말길. 차라리 밖에서 텐트치고 자는게 더 따뜻할 것 같음.6. 주인아저씨와 가족분들은 굉장히 친절했음. 계단이 좀 있었는데 아저씨가 캐리어도 들어주심.7. 고양이 몇마리가 있는데 사람을 굉장히 잘 따르고 예쁨.결론은 날씨 따뜻할때 가시길 추천합니다.겨울엔 돈 조금 더 주고 따뜻한 방 가세요~~

Будинок побудований століття тому, отже якщо ви шукаєте оригінальну автентику, то - це саме те місце, якщо ж вам потрібен комфорт із сучасним оздобленням та зручностями тоді напевно це місце не для вас.Плюси:1.Тераса;2.Сад;3.Сніданок.Мінуси:1. Нема кухні.

En verano debe estar muy bien pero en invierno hace mucho frío y no hay calefacción. No suele dar el sol y las ventanas son enormes. La casa es muy antigua.

Просто великолепный хостел! Здание - исторический памятник в центре старого города! Чувствуешь себя просто в другой эпохе!Внутри очень чисто, просторно, красиво. В общих комнатах у каждой кровати разетка и светильник.Персонал отзывчивый и дружелюбный.С терассы открывается вид на старый город и крепость! Есть уютный дворик. Расположение хостела великолепное!Очень советую этот хостел!

Beautiful old building in quaint town with lovely views of Berat Castle across the river. Good breakfast and comfortable rooms. The owner, Lorenc, is an interesting chap who likes to sing to you!

We arrived and Lorenc gave us a room. After the arrival of 5 French girls he chucked us out . He saw an opportunity to make more money. We stayed at anas Guesthouse. Much better and clean!

I had an okay stay. I found someone else’s hair on my pillow case when i was about to sleep on it for the first time. Around 10pm the owner came in and brought in an extra cot to the room so a guest that he didn’t have a bed for could stay. Their family is very friendly And they also have a restaurant in their backyard

Историческое место. Очень красивое место. Хозяевам отдельное спасибо за теплый прием. Для путешествующих на автомобиле: есть одна особенность, связанная с парковкой автомобиля - его можно оставить за рекой и прийти по пешеходному мосту в гостиницу. А можно приехать по второму мосту и оставить на площади вблизи гостиницы, но с утра там разворачивается рынок, много людей и автомобилей, которые движутся беспорядочно. Выезд будет затруднен.

Simply the best hospitality I have ever received at a hostel. Lorenc is an incredibly kind man who made all of his guests feel perfectly at home. A fantastic hostel.

Fantastic Albanian-style family-run Guesthouse. The owner and his wife are incredibly warm, helpful and welcoming. Wifi works wonders, rooms are very clean and confortable. Prices will suit those on a tight budget.
