Longuinhos Bar And Restaurant in Madgaon

This has always been south Goas favourite meeting place and still is. Whether you want to sit over tea and coffee and talk over things or whether you want to sip chilled beer and grab lunch or dinner. This is the ideal meeting place. The waiters have been here for years so it is always good to see them again and again. The owner is very friendly too. The plus point is food is available through out the day.

The food is tasty and very reasonably priced. However the wash basin area was very unhygienic and stinking. Its worth visiting for the food but avoid the wash basin area

This place carries heritage of Portuguese cuisine, the true pioneers in entire Goa. Mr Cutinho, the owner of this 72 year old restaurant, is a very humble, talented and well respected human being. He is as authentic as his Portuguese dishes. The place has an amazing vibe to it. Its a must visit whenever you are in South Goa.

The ambience is like the Irani restaurant in Mumbai. The food is good especially the vindaloo.

Goan dishes are good original recipes. The serving portion is satisfactory.

We visited this place about three weeks ago.While the food is good, service needs to be improved greatly.The waiter took forever to attend.We were served Limca that had some spots around the mouth of the bottle. When we pointed out, waiter didnt even bother to look at it.We ordered Fish & Chips. They served Fish fingers that was meant for another customer.Beef biriyani was served instead of Shrimp biriyaniWhat put us off was the attitude of the waiters, that we decided to leave the place without having any other food.

Its an institution in itself but it is now dated in terms of level of service and food items. Its got a great heritage value and the property is at a great location. It could do with an attitude overhaul.

Been coming here for the last 20 years! A must visit. Cashew feni, beef croquets, prawn rissois, sausages pulav, need i say more. Oh Yeah, iconic restaurant.

Longuinhis has been our favourite place to chill for Yeon. The ambience us typically goan, the food is excellent but very reasonably priced. Have your beer there lazily, chilly chicken, fried rice or fish finger or fush cutlet with tartar sauce and also taste bebinka. Very strongly recommended.

We ordered prawns biryani and it was good. We reached there around 4 o clock and it was only restaurant open. Most of restaurants around madgaon are closed during that time. Only biryani was available on the menu.

The hotel is running for 70 years. It has that vintage look and the food is also nice. The prices are cheaper. The people are also kind.

Food and ambience are both good, restaurant has a nice sea view but waiters are not trained enough.

Authentic goan sea food. We didnt find any restaurant to serve crab in Madgaon. Its only Longuinhos, a 70 years old restaurant. Food quality is nice. Service is quick.. Kudos.

Old world charm still intact. The goan food is authentic. Food preparation takes time and its worth the wait. They serve their in-house brand of feny, tastes better than most on the market.

The fish served was not at all great. It was deeply fried in oil with lots of rava. The beef chilly wasnt that good. Food overall is below average. The service is very slow. My experience with this restaurant was just disappointing.

A beautiful restaurant stuck in time. Laid back and peaceful. Great food and snacks. Only drawback is they accept only cash payment.

The kitchen is not 24/7 operational. In the afternoons/ evening you only get snacks. Their snacks are mostly sold out. I wanted to try their beef chilly fry but sadly couldnt

A lovely cozy Goan bar and restaurant located in the heart of Margao town. Must try the in-house Sausage Rolls, and other Goan snacks. Do try the Sausage Pulao and Biryani too. This is a great place to chill.

Very nostalgic place serving excellent food but slow service. Enjoy the ambiance and DO NOT forget to order their beef chilly fry. Some of their great tasting snacks are Sausage Roll, Beef patties & prawn patties

This place is only good for nostalgic feel. The food is not usually fresh and the waiters have a serious attitude.Not to mention the owner, he drives a grey Force10 suv and apparently has reserved double parking in front of his establishment. Heard him arguing with somebody who was double parked in his place. Cant imagine "reserved double parking spot "Guest are better off trying new establishment in margao being run by enthusiastic young people other than this washed out lot.

#notrecommended #patheticLouguinhos is a very popular place in Margao, Goa. However, it highly disappointed me. I ordered a beef croquette, beef pattice, garlic toast and coffee. Only the coffee was decent. The beef croquette was cold and I had to ask them to heat it. The beef pattice was just baked refined flour with a few atoms of beef. Seriously! And I sent the garlic toast back as the garlic was raw.Like Ive said in my earlier posts, I reiterate, not all popular places are good anymore. #unacceptable

Very old Goan vibe restaurant. We visited close to lunch time so had breakfast as well as lunch here. Tea and coffee were good. All patties and puffs were great. Tried many desserts. Cream rolls were mouth watering. Their breads and patties were very freshly made. Do try beef croquettes, chicken patties, egg patties, beef patties. Main course was just ok. Not that great. Staff serving our table was courteous and good. Staff near the bakery counter was cold. So they have a mix of staff who can be non smiling and cold. Toilet was very very smelly. They can do something about that. Over all vibe was good. Can visit once.

This place is a complete disappointment. 850 rupees for beer, wine and fried mussels. Wine was unbearable I think it wasn’t even a wine , rather a water with a chemical taste or just some expired old product. For 450 a plate it was just a too deep fried non chewable mess with a couple straws of cabbage with it - a total disaster! You would have much more better experience at any of the fast food track nearby for much cheaper as well!

Old world style Goan restaurant where you get traditional Goan dishes.Service is old style, don’t expect them to fall over themselves to serve you. Keep aside time for a leisurely meal as with most places in Goa.

A lovely restaurant in Margao. Ive been here about 12 years ago and felt very nostalgic. The food was amazing, the beer was cheap. Theres a 10% extra charge if you require air-conditioning, which can be worth it given how hot it gets in Goa. The toilets could have been a little more cleaner especially if youve come there after a long bus ride like I did.But despite all that, I would definitely recommend to try this place and I would go there again if I happen to visit Goa.

Great food. Nothing pretentious. Its about simple flavours and fresh food. Its been there since 1950 and you just cant go wrong after 70 years! Try the bakery items and the breakfast items for sure. The eclairs is to die for. Also everything is fairly priced.

Old world restaurant whose proprietor is a well-known author and gourmet chef who has made Goan food famous through his book. We had a delicious dinner, and the bonus came in the form of special pouches of Longsons range of pickles and spices to try Goan recipes in your own kitchen.

Burgermeister Burger from Longuinhos!I won a giveaway organised by them that involved naming their newest burger! This beautiful burger was full of flavour, moist and perfectly cooked chicken patty, tangy sauces and soft bread!The fries were crispy and yum, just like I like them, and to accompany it all was the coke! Also, they gave a tangy mayo Sauce to serve with the fries, and it was very very good! 😍I loved every bit of enjoying this gorgeous meal! Would Highly recommend everyone to try out their newest burger!

Nice restaurant with homely ambiance and with dark intramural. Food quality is good with reasonable price. They serve nice breakfast. You will get puffs, omelette, rolls, sandwiches, tea and coffee.

Located near Margao market, this restaurant is one of the oldest places in the area. They serve authentic goan dishes at very reasonable rates. Staff is friendly and service is good. We ordered fish fry, goan sausage chilli, fish curry rice is served with a plate of fried fish and a nice coconut and prawn chutney. For dessert we ordered a Medeleine.

Margaos most atmospheric place to eat is straight out of a long gone era. It looks like it operated in essentially the same way when Goa was still a Portuguese colony. Waiters are quick and polite. The beer is cold and cheap (90 Rs for a large Kingfisherand the food is tasty. I really liked the chili pork, fatty and melt in the mouth, perfect with the beer. Non veg dishes mostly around 200-300 Rs

A great place with very economically priced menu. Simply great food in general and Goan delicacies of pork vindaloo just mind blowing. Try the prawn Patrice too or the beef samosa. Enjoy the true Rum ball in sweet dish. See my uploaded pics which has a menu as well as a bill reflecting costs in case you wanna decide based on money. Right opposite Municipal corporation office in Madgaon, very close to New Madgaon market. You can take the local made Bebinca as parcel from here too. A true Goan retreat place.

One of the oldest restaurants in Margao. And certainly deserves a visit. We tried the famous salted pastries and had a very very cold beer. Perfect for a pit stop. Nice ambiance with tourist as well as locals. Point for improvement: customer service, rude personnel and long waiting time, they’d look us and ignore, quite weird!

This is one of the oldest bar and restaurant in Goa. Unfortunately, that doesnt guarantee good service or good food.The staff here has a bad attitude. I went here with my wife. First they dined to take our order as we reached 4 mins before 7pm. Even post 7pm all the waiters were busy watching a football match, I literally had to shout to get their attention. Then they served the wrong order and started arguing. Half the menu was not available and the food that came was just about ok.Overall a bad experience!

One of the old restaurants, a wonderful place with lovely antique feel to it. Great food especially the Goan/Portuguese cuisine. Fast service with cheerful and attentive staff.Recommended : Squid Masala Fry ( The batter fry is good but it has excessive batter), The Sorpotel is great, desserts were not that good.The seafood is at a very reasonable rate. Overall menu is not overpriced.

Historic hotel lost its old charm. The food is authentic Goan. The portions are small and little pricey. The decor gives you the feeling of its age. The waiters are slow and dont give you that welcoming feeling however they do their job. They also seem more happy to serve foreigners as compared to Indians probably because of the tips. They serve some home made hard alcohol like Urak and Dudhshiri. Must visit just once if you want that experience.

Food and the legacyIf you care about heart warming, mind pleasing service and care.. go somewhere else (expensive places). Here.. what you can experience is a traditional atmosphere and accompanying authentic tasting food.Most reviews are criticizing bad service but I feel a place where food is so frugal and with no service charges.. and the resulting "tip" or lack thereof might not go well with the waiters, hence the bad service may be.?

A very old world charm exsits around this place. elegant and nicely done place. Ita been around for 50+ years and serves some really wonderful goan,continental,chinese and liquor. The place is situated right at a corner opposite the muncipal building. Parking is a little difficult but you can try in one of the lanes close to it. Must try if you are in south goa. They are priced reasonably.
