LongHorn Steakhouse in Des Plaines

Probably our favorite place for appetizers with a reasonably priced steak menu, too. The staff is always friendly and a wonderful atmosphere to boot.

My go-to almost every Friday! There lunch options are by far the best around. The burgers are fantastic, the ranch is amazing, the bread loaf is fabulous! My coworker normally gets the lunch grilled chicken strawberry salad. We love this location! Make sure you check your bags; they leave some things out every once in a while.

Super busy day at Longhorn. But, we waited the 45 mins for the table and we were pleasantly greeted by Nate. We bonded over being once in the service industry ourselves. He told us about his cats. He then recommended some amazing appetizers we wouldn’t have tried. The mushrooms were amazing. The wings are the best wings we have ever had at a chain restaurant. Nate then suggested some great add-ons for the steaks and apologized for the slow bar service. He made us feel welcomed despite the overly busy night.Overall, good food. $300 bill for 2 adults and 3 kids but we ordered everything. Worth the evening.

Best steak I have ever had

I thought Id give Longhorn another try. I didnt enjoy their steaks in the past because quality was not great. I ordered the 20oz ribeye or the one that cost 24 dollars. It was very gritty and chewy. The seasoning they use to flavor the steak is outstanding, I just wish they had better quality steaks. It wasnt enjoyable because of all the grit and fat on the steak and it was very chewy. I like how entrées come with a side and a salad. And the warm bread they bring to the table before the meal is delicious. Service was amazing too. There are just to many steak houses in the Chicagoland area that are better than this and I prefer. I wont be back.

The meal was outstanding. Flavorful, tender, big portions. Friendly staff and inviting atmosphere.

Excellent salmon and thats pretty much all I get THERE...BUT BEING HONEST...IT WAS WAY OVERCOOKED AND I SHOULD HAVE SAID SOMETHING BUT I DIDNT... FIRST TIME IN OVER 20 VISITS WAS LITTLE DISSATISFIED...WELL SEE NEXT TIME AS EVERYONE HAS AN OFF DAY SO PLEASE DONT LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN...JUST KEEPING IT REALSERVICE WAS GREAT OSCAR VERY GOOD AN ATTENTIVE...

Amazing food and service!!! Absolutely loved the French onion soup and rye bread that was served complementary.

Havent been in a while so the Wife and I decided to have a date night. Just as good as usual. Nate was awesome. Very attentive and made a great drink suggestion. The white peach sangria was fantastic

Ordered curbside online, tho I was at the adjacent hotel so I called and informed I would walk over for pick-up (this was not an option on the online check out interestingly enough). Asked for extra honey mustard, utensils, mayo. Everything was as ordered. Chicken tenders were very good. The bisque was good and the shortcake was good. Even the Side Salad was happy. Super easy transaction and everything as requested. Very pleased w/ the entire experience...only knock might be fries were less then crispy but not being a fry guy its not a deal breaker.

I ordered a steak and I was very disappointed. Hubby ordered medium but it was quite tough. Really said because this time no consistency.

Good place to get steak. Steak was delicious but the broccoli & spinach dip was really salty but the manager, waitor was really nice that they redid the dish and took one off the bill.Good customer service for sure.

This is the first longhorn steakhouse I fell in love with and they continue to execute on a high level. The food here is fantastic and service is outstanding. Although I can’t say the same for every longhorn steakhouse in the Chicagoland area. this one is number one In my opinion 💯💯✊🏾✊🏾

Oh my what a delicious birthday dinner. It was my 1st time there but it wont be the last. The salad with strawberries was so yummy. I had the ribeye with grilled shrimp so good and I ordered the fried Brussel sprouts, honestly I have dreamt of those darn things, best ever.. topped off with a yummy chocolate bday sundae.. cant wait to go back.

After a 3.5 hournplane ride, it was nice to find a restaurant with great fast service. The food was fresh and hot, the staff was friendly, and ehe atmosphere relaxing.

Food and service was outstanding! Had the spinach artichoke dip new to menu was one of the best I have ever eaten. Definitely going back.

Longhorn Stkhse was surprisingly good. We arrived and was immediately serviced. The food was hot and delicious and servers nice...I had spicy chicken bites and fries-the chicken was fresh and juicy. Well definitely go back!

Havent been in awhile, food was ok , seems under staffed which is the norm and nonones fault, but I will say they have a honest staff, I left my credit card on the table and returned the next day and was greeted by the manager who had it locked away , and returned it to me

So typical Friday nite...15 min wait (great)..ordered app fried onions zesty sauce (blooming onion no worrieswere fried a little hard...ordered salad w/spring mix n Ceasar dressing...got Ceasars Salad instead..ordered 2 Bone in Rib Eyes..one Med one Med Well...both came Med Well...broccoli was actually cold and no flavor. Asked for additional Au jus and out of 3 of the waitstaff non even knew what that was. Not my usual experience with Longhorn I must say.

Food used to be good. IT has become very salty. We spoke with manager who said thats seasoning. SALT is not seasoning. WE WONT GO BACK!!!

I work nearby this location and come often. Invited my mom to celebrate her birthday. While waiting for her to arrive, I asked a hostess (Leslie/Lesleyto tell a waiter to somehow acknowledge moms birthday. She said "not a problem, we do it all the time". Time came for the candle to be brought in, I sense that waiter is not aware why we were there. I came to a hostess confirming that she told a waiter, she said "yes". Asked a waiter, he said "no, she didnt". Eventually, he brought an ice cream with a candle, but my mood was ruined. She was not even busy, was standing chatting with other associates. Food is good, but do not celebrate birthdays there! 😢

Buttermilk Chicken sandwich isn’t comparable to Chick fila, in terms of taste and quality of chicken used. Seemed to be fried a little to hard and old grease

Service was very good we were very satisfied with our food and very satisfied with our server he had a smile on his face and was on top of it the entire time very understanding and took his time to ask what we would like for dinner and make sure that our cups were full of drinks

I ordered steak medium rare and received well done. No apologies by manager. At first she offered free dessert but when I asked for dessert she said its not free. The waiter apologized for her and offered free coffee .

Since it was Fathers day, the wait was a bit long to get seated, but totally worth it. The steaks were very good, the sides were good too. Considering the value of the meal I can definitely recommend this place to have a dinner, with the caveat that I only can recommend what I had, i.e. new york strip.

Had the stuffed mushrooms and broccoli side as an entrée. It was a good pairing! Vegetarian with plenty of protein.The decor wasnt as bad as some Ive been in. Only 1 stuffed longhorn head vs tons of jackolopes, rabbit, duck, mtn lion,etc. A bit crowded with no accommodation for covid precautions.

You would think that a restaurant that has steakhouse in its name would make a great steak, right? Wrong! At least in this restaurants case. My steak was overcooked and bland! I had to eat it with A1 just to choke it down. My husband got his steak topped with the parmesan cheese crust and his was pretty good. The other food was pretty good, especially the bread they give the table.This place was insanely busy! We had a reservation and still had to wait like 30 minutes after the time. There wasnt enough space to wait inside, a bunch of people were waiting outside, and so we actually went and waited inside the hotel lobby (where some of our group were staying as guests).With how busy they were, I would have thought that their food, specifically their steak, since theyre a "steakhouse," would be amazing, but I was quite disappointed.I dont think the horrible parking situation, long wait times, and loud atmosphere are worth that piece of meat, pretending to be a delicious steak.

Our server, Nick, did an excellent job explaining the menu and offering suggestions. He was attentive but not hovering. The food was very good and priced reasonably. We will be back!

The Steak had alot of flavor, and juice, also the Shrimp, and lobster soup was really delicious in my opinion our, waitress was super nice and got everything together all in all I like the hospitality we received.

Great server! Like the chicken bites, sweet w a little heat. Very cheesy potato soup we liked. Our steaks were cooked perfectly. Im a huge fan of this chain.

This was our 3rd visit and as on previous occasions it was great. The staff are helpful friendly and polite. We were served by Jenny H Oscar and Danon who were brilliant.Food is excellent and well presented and a good choiceWould recommend this for families and for special occasions.Will revisit when we are next in USA

Service very good Nick was our server. Had strip steak and lobster tail. My wife had parmesan crusted chicken. Best piece of chicken we ever had. We will both have the chicken next time. Toni the manager stopped by. Went out of her way to help us. Going to Wolves game. Was not going to eat half our meal. Plus wanted to take home dessert. Held our container until we returned from Wolves game. Thank you Toni.

The wings are a must have.. Every was awesome as always. Very fast service & extremely nice wait staff. We didnt have to wait for anything.

This restaurant is amazing. The cocktails are executed perfectly: amazing blend of natural ingredients, tastes delicious and have fun names. If I were you I would go and dont think to hard because everything on the menu is five star!

Great service and food. Cheesy mushrooms and chicken tenders were great. Steak and shrimp sides were perfect. Staff forgot for a minute but quickly brought out shrimp perfectly prepared with an extra side for our table. Honestly everything was perfectly cooked and prepared and staff was great and professional.Also dessert: chocolate stampede is heavenly for any chocolate lover. Best to share as portions are extremely generous too.

I get it - this is a chain restaurant. But hey, the food is great. Okay, the Outlaw Ribeye is sinewy, so stay away from that one. All the other choices are top notch. And for you carb lovers, dont forget the loaded baked potato. And I like the old west paraphernalia throughout as well.

We come here a lot. Always get the steak or their salads. Its tasty and the mashed potatoes are yummy. It is clean and they are always so friendly.The drinks are good. Its our go to for lunch. Definitely recommend.

Amazing food! Steaks were so juicy and full of flavor! Always enjoy coming to Longhorn! Our waitress was so nice and kind always on top of everything.

Great service. Conrad is a fantastic server! I asked him for 2000 dollars and he gave me 4k. He also got table salt when I asked and presented it like a pearl necklace. I tried my best to get a picture of the presentation.

4.5 out of 5! Food was delicious and the portions were great! The only reason why Im giving it 4.5 is because the loaded baked potato should have been more loaded.

Delicious food, great service. They make a good steak, tailored to your liking. Premium sides are definitely superior to regular sides.

The service was fantastic, our waitress was so nice and warm person. We put in our order and it came out pretty quick. The restaurant was not over crowded like other longhorn restaurants with was great for a Saturday. The food was fantastic. Everything was very delicious and not over priced like other steak restaurants. The quality of the food was just as great as other steak house in the city. I was honestly surprised I was not expecting the food to be that good from a chain restaurant but everything was so good.

As always - perfect! Have no comment on their stakes! flawless! Since the 1st time I tried them, I became their fan. Wings, stake, ribs, mashed potatoes and a salad in a combination with coke and beer dont sound healthy but - we gave ourselves a little break :-). We will come back over and over again. And, not to forget-the server was really knowledgeable and nice guy.Update: during the Covid, we tried “pick up” service they are offering now. You order online, park your vehicle in front of the restaurant at specially marked place and someone brings your order! It is fast, safe and great! I am sorry they are not delivering, but this is not a bad option either.

Nice staff with quick service, almost to the point of being rushed as they try to reset and turn over the tables as quickly as possible. The food was satisfactory. My steak, ordered rare, came out exactly as I wanted. The cut of meat could have been better I thought, and, for my taste, the seasoning on the steak was far too salty.Try the fried pickles for an appetizer, they were delicious!

I was actually very surprised how delicious the food was. Awesome appetizers and a great staff. Really nice that it is next to the Wyndham. Hope to come back soon.
