Great food and a warm welcome.

We booked for a Sunday afternoon. After ordering, staff returned to tell us that they had run out of food for two of our choices. Items were missing off my meal, as they had run out too. The table next to us had ordered the large carvery only for it to turn up with items missing, because theyd run out of food. Very disappointing. Inexperienced but enthusiastic staff worked hard, whilst the very disinterested head of house gave them no guidance and was totally disengaged and looking like she wanted to go home.

Tried their Monday Night Specials, mains for a Tenner. All superb, pub, staff, cellar and food. Recommended.

My wife and I had a lovely meal here on Thursday evening, a fitting end to our holiday in Shaldon. The London Inn is a jewel. Very good food, friendly and efficient service and a great pub vibe. Thank you all.

I wish there was a 6 stars option! Ate inside this time but was outside last year. Lovely welcoming helpful staff, dog friendly, superb quality food. Lots of cover outside but waiting for the big canopy to come back in the spring hopefully. The atmosphere inside is so cosy and warm. Music is not too intrusive and adds to the atmosphere.

Pretty pub on the green in Shaldon. Good selection of ales beers and ciders, reasonably priced.They have plenty of outdoor seating and dogs are welcome.

I give one star under duress. Not a good place to go rip off food plate of chips and a supposed steak ?? Dry chicken burger ?? Service abominable. Thanks for nothing.

I took my partner here at the end of August as a summer holiday date. I grew up locally in Teignmouth and used to visit the London regularly - its a well known and loved spot in neighbouring Shaldon. However on our most recent visit it was an absolute comedy of errors. As we arrived one family muttered good luck and boy did we need it. The service and food were both abysmal. Some highlights: *I know you ordered a pint but they gave me a half so its not my fault - Waitress; *I ordered the lamb - one of the most expensive dishes on the menu and it was honestly like a school dinner - sloppy, dry, flavourless; *not getting a side oh I asked the chef if hed make it for you (onion rings - a side on the menuand he said no - Waitress; *a build your own burger that was totally wrong - wouldve been better if hed built it himself (!); *waitress who put our food on the table and then walked off, I went to find her to ask about our sides and to get some sauces and she said yeah in a minute and carried on writing a reservation sign for the next day; *an Irish coffee with squirty cream. That said, we had one lovely waitress towards the end of our evening who confessed the new chef isnt making things easy on the front of house team, and our starters of brushetta and goats cheese were lovely. We didnt make a fuss on the night because it seemed like itd been really tough on the staff, and can only hope they get back to their usual standards soon otherwise itll be a huge loss! Ultimately though, save yourself £90 and go and get fish and chips instead.

Appaling customer service! Came in with my two children in the afternoon and asked if they served any food now. “No, not until 6 and it does actually say on the board outside”, was the rude reply from the woman “serving” me. Proceeded to order a Guinness and asked if they had anything for children to drink. “The soft drinks are all down there”, which left me to peer over the counter trying to make out what was in the fridge. Never coming back!

Awesome sunday lunch. Great value very relaxed. And very good food.

Booked the curry and quiz night when we arrived last Friday and had just a drink while we were there instantly loved the place, friendly staff, good beer and good service, come the curry night we were not disappointed, the food was superb again service and friendliness excellent, the quiz was fun and we managed to chat to some regulars, the whole place is a credit to the owners / managers and its dog friendly too, I only wish we were not 192 miles away else this would be my local, well done one and all

The food took quite a long time to come out after ordering it didnt look that busy. I ordered muscles they were lovely big ftesh muscles but the sauce was really bland so not very tasty which was disappointing. While we were eating our starters four other people came in and ordered meals. They were served their main meals before we were served ours and we had to wait again quite some time for our mains. The food was good all in all but just a little dissatisfied with the wait

Love it here. So friendly and welcoming. We came for Sunday lunch today and it was 10/10. Our little dog joined us and was welcomed. Will definitely be back

Great little pub/restaurant in a fab position. Had Sunday lunch there. Delicious food. I personally would have liked more veg with my roast. Lovely staff. Will definitely eat there again.

Probably the best roast I have ever eaten, the prawn starter was delicious but the lamb was out of this world, all the fresh veg, the massive yorkshire pudding, the gravy and especially the honey roast parsnips were all stunning, will definitely be back.

Recently refurbished with a pleasant, welcoming environment. Quality food and good service. We were disappointed not to have room to try the mouthwatering selection of desserts. Would definitely recommend.

Disappointed.... Advertised on FB Curry Night Weds, Mussels Night Thurs...... So took Wife down, met daughter and new husband. Booked 7.15pm table, ordered 7.30pm out of Mussels...... asked waitress if theyd run out if Curry Wednesday night "No" was the answer...... Very disappointed. Would have walked out but other FamaLam wanted to stay..... So put up with a burger.

Do not be fooled by the name. This Pub is not in London. Despite this fact they are able to serve delicious food and a vast selection of drinks at non London prices. The fact this is located in a very pretty village on the beautiful South Coast is a bonus. Come and join in the merriment and sit awhile whilst enjoying a drink or two.

Five of us had food and drinks outside here tonight. All enjoyed the food and service was great even though it was very busy and we hadnt booked. Highly recommended.

Don’t know if it’s down to covid but this used to be such a brilliant pub. Now the food selection isn’t very good, lack of atmosphere inside and generally like eating out in most places in shaldon it’s a waste of time. Used to love this pub, I remember getting fresh plaice…which you’d never get now. Such a shame. I had a risotto which unfortunately didn’t taste of anything at all very bland. I left it, the rest of our food was bog standard fish and chip etc and burgers. Just all very dull. People next to us also complaining about the frozen breaded seafood platter! Gutted as it used to be fab.

Arrived late due to not being able to park but were still warmly welcomed. Food was lovely, hot and plentiful. Would certainly strongly recommend this place just beware and allow more time to park.

We have been visiting The London Inn for many years and highly recommending it as a fab place to eat for family and friends. We booked a table on Saturday with some family who were visiting. We looked at the menu but probably already decided on the Sea Food Platter and recommended it to the family. When it arrived it was nothing like we had had before. No smoked salmon, fish goujons, it was like the food had been taken from the freezer and deep fried. What has happened,! Quality , content totally different and a real disappointment. Will not be recommending again!

This is a busy pub, with a great menu. Lots of delicious looking dishes, with a number of locally sourced ingredients. Theres a decent amount of outdoor seating, and its clean and comfortable inside. It was very busy when we went and the staff were quite rushed, but they were very friendly and whenever we asked for something.

We visited for lunch with our dogs and were made very welcome.the pub overlooks the village green . service was great we were served by a very happy chatty girl service was quick and lunch was lovely we had fish and chips and white bait and chips very tasty and it was a very good price too will be back for dinner while staying locally top class service.. drink prices are standard in the area a very friendly place worth a few visits if youre staying in the area

Very disappointing- not at all what the reviews led us to believe. The seafood platter was a total misnomer as everything was lost in a thick batter- it was like eating a plateful of batter scraps! In addition, the star of the show, crab cakes, had run out!Fish and chips was a much safer choice. General complaints re slow service

Sat outside for a drink yesterday with some friends, had to ask 3 times if we could order some drinks, each time we were told theyd be right back but never appeared. Other tables got their orders taken and drinks bought to them but we felt ignored. Every time someone came out we tried to grab their attention but no one glanced in our direction. We were there for 25 minutes before we gave up and went else where. Really disappointing.

We had a lovely Sunday Roast here, fab that they had a vegan option for us! All the staff were amazing! Its also dog friendly! We will definitely be coming back!

We booked a table for lunch on Sunday, and noisily entered the pub...totally missing the very obvious instructions the wait for a member of the team to escort us to our table.We were very respectfully asked to wait as instructed...outside whilst out table was located.The waitress was very patient with our demob happy gaiety...and we were served our drink choices.2 beautiful fish dishes and a fish platter. Excellent quality and value for money.Our meals were served safely, the dining area was CV19 complant, and we all agreed we felt absolutely safe.Thank you. Excellent lunch and great team.

First class meals all thoroughly delicious. Great selection of menu choices definitely not your run of the mill pub grub, but would match standards in any top 5star London Restaurant.Well done London Inn 👍
