London House Of Coffee - Cafe in Colombo, Sri Lanka
Cosy place. Good coffee and pasta. Reasonable prices.
My favorite and most loving coffee place. Please keep open till 12 midnight like before coz coffee is always good after sunset and chill air. Keep your good work till late night, Please consider. Thank you.
A quiet little cafe at the end or beginning of Gregorys Road.It has a fairly British look as the name suggests. The coffee was fairly good. However the cookie was not too good. More like raw chewy dough. The snacks here are from Cinnamon Grand and therefore pricey but of good quality. The restaurant is decided between the lower level that has the barista and the above area that is the sitting area. Its worth a visit for a quiet conversation or a cup of coffee.
Extremly poor quality and hopeless food. Dont ever sight this place for food.
Coffee and muffin were good!! Better than other coffee places - I would say. However the comfy chairs were a little dusty.PS: parking available across the road.
The atmosphere is what I love the most here 😌, everything else is okay 👍🏻
The food and drinks taste horrible here and not worth the money. They don’t even have many varieties in the menu. The cashier doesn’t even give the bill unless we ask for it. The standards have gone down drastically. The management should look into this. Definitely the last visit !
Great place to taste your favorite pure cup of coffee at reasonable rate which suit to your budget .
It was a nice place where to spend the day working on my laptop, confortable, enough peaceful. Coffee was good, same with food, service a bit slow
Good quality coffee, a bit overpriced though.
I love to come here to chill and get some work done. One of my favorite cafes. The chairs are so plushy and all the tables have power outlets so its a great place if you want to spend some time chilling.Food and drinks are on the expensive side. They taste really good but I only come here if Im going to stay for more than an hour.
I was in SL for 1.5 months and this was my fav place to go in the city, wonderful ambience with free Wi-Fi and not to forget one of the best coffee Ive tasted. This coffee house itself is located in a beautiful place the roads are covered with trees and the walk from bus stand to the coffee house is so warming. If you got some work and you are bored at your house grab your laptop head to this coffee house order the brownie and your fav coffee and get on with the work. definitely would love to visit this house again sometime when I visit the country again.
Love the Ambiance and the vibe here which made me visit this place more often and now am addicted to this cappuccino. Lovely staffs exceptional service
Their work speaks for itself, and their customer service is top-notch too.
Not much clean these days. I saw a rat run under the sofa.Coffee was top notch.Ambience was good.
Large coffee varieties with their specially brew2d coffee as well. Excellent for relaxing, business discussions. Calm and quiet place.
I went there on 26May22, and ordered a butter croissant and hot chocolate. It was a VERY stale croissant and tasted bad. When we checked with the staff, they said that it was made the previous day and then tried to give us free food for their mistake! Dont the management check these things? This would be my last visit there.
Such a lovely, cozy lil place in the heart of Colombo! The ambience is just amazing and the service wasnt bad either. They have a lot of coffee varieties on their menu but limited savouries. The brownie that I got for dessert was heavenly! Also they had adequate parking, the last time we visited.
Great place to sit and relax or think, undisturbed and unhurried. Wonderful ambience. Stylish decor. Good coffee
I would recommend this place for a nice breakfast, morning coffee or tea. Their menu consists of different coffee and tea beverages including Cappuccino, Latte, Espresso, Caramel Macchiato and Ceylon Black Tea as well as a range of sandwiches. A private and a cozy environment. Good place to have a short meet up. Prices are fair but parking is limited.
Love this place! Extremely cozy and private. Awkward during a crowd because of the low capacity of it, but to head there on a weekday is ideal. Ironically i didnt like the coffee or drinks much, but the food is great! Love the pasta!
I used to work here. Thank you Mr Aruna giving me the chance to work in your coffee shop such a beautiful place. Hope you a big success and the memories I gained here will never fade.
I didn’t expect food and drinks to be terrible but it was. The frappes we ordered was horrible. I ordered dark chocolate and it’s not even have a strong chocolate flavor.Vanilla one was the worst. THEIR vanilla coffee is so distasteful we could not have more than a sip. Pastries were rubbery. I don’t know how a croissant can be rubbery. Only top half was flaky and bottom half was rubbery. There is not enough leg space when you sit. Chairs and tables were placed every space they could find and can’t move most of the chairs to get more leg space.Only good thing was the ladies who were serving. If you girls are the only positive thing I can think of.Hey btw London Coffee House ! Is the coffee from England? What’s the story?I cannot recommend the place
I just went here without big expectation , I said to my self it’s just another coffee shop but I was wrong , atmosphere, service , foods , coffees, milk shakes everything is excellent, pricy but worth to try
Very comfortable place for a chat. Feels like home. Very relaxing. Coffee is also good!
As with a lot of places in Sri Lanka the building and decor and ambience is great. However, I went in on a Saturday mid morning and was surprised by the reduced menu items.. saying that during these covid times I can understand why, additionally I did think it was expensive. The coffee wasnt to my taste (flat whiteI think I will go back for a different type of coffee. As a suggestion it may be a good idea to sell coffee beans.
Very good place. Good for working. Comfortable. Very kind staff.
Great friendly service, polite customer handling..Good variety of coffee types...Delicious food....Good environment for chats and meetings...
Very much a London coffee house than a trendy cafe. Spacious seating downstairs and a more relaxed lounge upstairs. Every cafe has its followers and loyal crowd, no exception here, with a talkative atmosphere the place seemed busy but not crowded. The coffee was good and strong with a rich taste, something i was not expecting from Sri Lankan coffee beans. Hats off to the owner, who have their own coffee plantations and promote Ceyon Coffee, but you need to pay a premium for such devine taste. Around Rs750 with taxes, very much London prices.
The London House of Coffee is a very nice cafe with a good range of lovely cakes, coffee specialities (they claim to roast fresh dailyhot and cold and cold drinks as well. The interior is cozy (dark woodenwith sofas and comfortable chairs, well suited to chill out.
Service is good. Ambiance is okay. prices are a bit on the expensive side.
Been here after ages.. still a great place.. only thing is my coffee the Irish coffee was not that hot. And they forgot to ask me if I wanted whip cream... should have done that.. but all in all its was good..
A decent hangout / coffee shop down Colombo. The ambiance and environment of the location is good. You won’t find parking at the location so you will need to find a spot on the roadside parking on the opposite side.We were surprised when looking at the menu as there was no meat items, and when checked with the server, apparently the coffee shop was “vegetarian”. Ideally this should have been mentioned in their website and we were disappointed as non of us were vegetarians. The food options were also poor and the portions were small compared to the high pricing. The fresh drinks and milkshakes we tried out were all average and don’t think it was worth the price we paid. Also several of the fresh juice options we requested for was not available. The service was good.Honestly it wasn’t a good experience for us and would not be a repeat visit place.
Superb experience... Extremely calm and pleasant ambiance... Definitely recommend their Frapacino...
Calm surrounding . Hot chocolate is great .Good and very attentive staff
Ambience is great and the name stands for itself. Beautiful interior and ample space through out the restaurant. Ideal for a date, a meeting, some chilling time with your mates or even read a book. The coffee was splendid and the fresh pineapple juice was amazing. They also have an outdoor section if you feel like it. Customer service was amazing as expected.
Beautiful coffee house in the most unassuming place. Middle of all the buzz and its quite spacious inside with great menu to pick from. The service is exceptionally well. My favorite thing about the place is that its open from early morning till 12 in the night.Their Hazelnut latté is exquisite!! Recommended to try it out!
Its a romantic place. Good for a business chat or personal. I had a Oreo milk shake and Chocolate milkshake. They both were LKR 800+ they tasted good, but its bit pricy for a milkshake.
One of the best coffee places in colombo and they just have incredible customer service. The staff is so nice and helpful and even went ahead and gave me a intro on the concept of the brand that they are building. The place is suitable for going out on a date, chilling with friends or even to have a buisness meeting. Because the place is so calm, quiet and classy. The prices of the items are moderate and i feel for 2 people to have coffee and meals it would average around 1300 to 2000rs depending on what you buy.
Ambiance : 5/5Variety : Food - 2/5 Beverages - 5/5Taste : Food - 2/5 Beverages - 5/5Value for money : 4/5Revisit : Yes, for their coffee.Situated in a relatively quiet neighbourhood this place has an ambience of its own. From the entrance to the seating it astonishes you in every step. The moment you enter you smell that fresh coffee smell which is so refreshing. Went on a weekend so the place was full. No need of booking ahead but can be done if you want. Parking space is limited and due to the ongoing security concerns you have to park opposite to the premises. Being a two storied cafe it has all sorts of seating options from couples to small groups, even small conferences can be held here. Upstairs there is an open balcony area which is smoker friendly. You can spend hours and hours here and the calm and quiet atmosphere give a little push to that idling urge. Plus this place comes with free WiFi! Perfect for geeks. Coming to food, this place is renowned for their refined coffee but if you expect a great collection of edibles you will be disappointed. This is the only pescatarian restaurant Ive seen in colombo, so if you are a meat lover this is not the place. But the selection of beverages is top notch and wont disappoint you. We ordered Dark Chocolate latte and Cafe caremal latte which tasted divine. If you visit this place trying those two is a must. From edibles tried Tuna salad and Fish pot pie. Both were ok, but texture wise and in terms of quality of food, I have tasted better ones. Tried their London House cheese cake which was superb and their chocolate brownie which was very average. Staff is very friendly and polite. There are no service charges nor government taxes. Definitely a place worth visiting if you are around to try their coffee.
The food is quite average and theres no value for money although their beverages are good but its ambience and service is quite good and with excellent WiFi.
Review⬇⬇⬇Food.⭐⭐⭐⭐Price.⭐⭐⭐Service.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐..After work, we gathered at @londonhouseofcoffe located in Maitland Cresent, Colombo 7 for a farewell. The architecture was nicely turned this shop house into an old building with the hints of London. Polish wooden doors, dim lights, large cusion chairs made us feel very homey. They have seperate outdoor area, large washrooms, private rooms for parties and meetings.Upon recommendation, we tried their Fish pot pie (rs. 650). It was so yummy, very hot, freshly prepared tummy filling dish and I would recommend for everyone. The black beauty in the picture was Death by chocolate(rs.450So gooey, so chocolatte and thought well be dead after this overload. We got a large slice of Apple pie (rs.450). The pie crust was thin and flaky and the paste was nicely mixed with stewed apples, nuts and raisins, topped with cinnamon aroma.Coffee at LHOC is bit on the high end from rs.400 - 600 eventhough their other dishes are resonably priced. In LHOC beverage menu, we ordered Dark chocolate latte (rs. 600). Not a single drop was wasted. Imagine how strong the cuppa was when you get coffee and chocolate in a single jar. Simply awesome.Thier Iced cafe latte (rs. 575was something I was not a huge fan of. It was quite watery and struggled to finish it. Waste of money. The watermelon smoothie (rs.550was superb. Thick and tasted fresh. All prices are inclusive of service charge and VAT...The waiters were well trained I must say. We were spending minutes to pick the order and once delivered to them, they were very clear and remembered all the items without even noting down anywhere. This is a must visit place is for all the Lankan Londoners for their great coffee and instagram-worthy interior.
cozy place and good coffee. but prices are little bit high. friendly staff.
My cappucino was fantastic although pretty much all coffees are overpriced but its understandable considering the location its at. It doesnt have that cozy atmosphere due to seating arrangements and cool white lighting. The choc chip cookies were amazing.
Ambience is good but they need to work on coffee and food.
Very nice place. Great customer place. Good place to have a coffee and chill
Nothing exceptionalEven though its tempting from outside inside is verY conjested. But lovely welcoming staffWe orderd hot chocolate , blueberry cheesecake and some other. They taste fine like every other coffee place.Less parking space
Tried this place today for the first time. I was happy to find a lovely ambiance and great food! Also the customer service here is simply amazing! The staff were really friendly and nice and also very helpful and understanding! Made my dining experience a whole lot better. Great place for dates or to hang out with friends and family.
Excellent service! Plus the place looks really nice. The food is good, although not exceptional.
Lovely ambience and a very decent place to visit. I’ve tried their blueberry cheesecake and a cup of cappuccino , scrumptious food and a diverse menu. This place is slightly heavy on pocket in comparison to the alternatives nearby, but still it’s hard to match the overall experience including very friendly staff at the coffee shop.
