81 Kensington Gardens Square, Bayswater, London W2 4DJ, Boende
Opposite an elegant garden square, this refined hotel occupies a set of 5 19th-century Victorian townhouses. It's a minute's walk from Whiteleys shopping centre, 4 minutes from the Bayswater tube station and 8 minutes from Hyde Park. The bright, modern rooms feature air-conditioning, and come with flat-screen TVs and minifridges, as well as free Wi-Fi.There's a modern dining area with skylights and wooden tables that serves continental breakfast options (fee).
Great location to shops and restaurants as well as two tube stations without the feel of being in a large city. It had more of a residential vibe and I felt more like a local than a tourist. The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly.
Amazing stay. I found the room to be perfectly well settled, and I had the best night sleep in years. Many thanks to all the staff for their attentive service. Ill definitely return
Great location with easy access to the Underground. Rooms were clean and adequate. Staff was efficient and responsive. Overall, a great stay. The only negative is the coffee machine in the breakfast room. It needs to be upgraded to a more user friendly model. Staff needs to spend too much time explaining how the machine operates, and it still only dispenses a very small amount of coffee.
Small room, very old styled, not soundproofed at all and bathroom was not clean.
The room quality was very poor, I noticed that the bed linen was not changed for me to stay as I found traces of hair in the sheets. The two nights I spent in the hotel were under pure cold...no heating system at all. On the other hand, the reception team should be more prepared in terms of PCI compliance as well as in proper public attention or customer service. This hotel is too expensive despite its service quality being so poor.
Check-in was quick & easy, had triple room no. 410, seemed fine until we came back at night, had loud pulsating humming noise (not bathroom fan or Aircontoo loud to sleep, complained only to told would have to pay extra £20 to change room ended up changing room at midnight to basement room B4!!
Great communication. Staff good, very helpful. Hotel lovely, just as photos. Would book again.
Well located, clean and a very friendly staff. Rooms are on the small side but clean and well appointed. Even though there was construction nearby, I did not hear any outside noise. The area Bayswater is a bit more run down than I remember but the new complex being built should remedy that.
Place is dirty and filthy. Even moldy probably. Hair in the bathroom and shower. Floor doesnt get vacuumed it seems. All documented in the photos taken.Place is super tiny which isnt unusual for London, however, the beds are only 120cm wide. Its the small print and its not something you check before when you book a double room for two people - you are practically getting fooled. Also rooms are very loud. For what you get and what you pay under no circumstances I can recommend this place. Staff is not able to solve requests and obvious complaints unless you argue for hours for getting the basics right.
Have had multiple stays including this last weekend 02 through the 4th. These guys go the extra mile to make your stay in a terrific location awesome. I always look forwards to coming back.
The room was super clean and close by it had tons of restaurants. Check in took less then 5 minutes. The room its self it super small so only my wife and I fit with 2 backpacks and 1 carry on luggage and even that feels tight.
The Kitchen@London HouseIt doesnt matter whether youre a meat eater, a vegan or a vegetarian, go somewhere else and give your hard-earned money to people who also deserve it humanely.allegedly all vegans were so unfriendly that they took all vegan dishes off the menu. Guests are said to have complained about storage in the same fridge, I can imagine it all being thrown into the same fryer/pan. They dont seem to be able to kick out guests who cant behave, regardless of their attitude towards food. Your waitress was probably just incompetent (in the eyes of the guestsand had been insulted by carnivores just as easily.CHILDISH, SOMETHING IS ALLOWED TO BE INDEPENDENT? Luckily this backward country has left the EU!
The staff was friendly and helpful. The beds were super comfortable and the blankets made it even more snuggly. I loved my stay.
There was a power cut on our floor on our second nights stay. Sadly for us, the consumer unit sat right outside our door, which Im sure you know whats coming next!Rather than having an electrician come to fix the issue, we had hotel staff periodically come up and flick switches up and down, up and down, up and down, up and down, in the the hope that this would somehow magically fix the issue! To say that this disrupted our sleep would be putting it mildly.By 7am, I felt I had not slept much if anything at all. I was woken but that awful sound of the consumer switch being flicked vigoursly up and down to which I opened our room door, looked at the hotel staff member and gave an obvious look that I wasnt impressed. That morning my partner and I left having not been able to shower, creased clothes and no battery on our devices as the power had still not been fixed. No apology or offer to reduce what we paid to stay there.Very poor.
My family and I stayed at this hotel for 10 nights. Rooms are clean and air conditioned. Great location, walking distance to several different restaurants and two tube stations.
Nice hotel, booked very last minute due to rail strike (so visiting London a day earlier than planned). Good location within walking distance of Paddington Station. Staff pleasant and welcoming, room clean and smart. Only complaint, TV small for size of room.
Here in London for 4 days, great location, two tube stations less than 10 minutes away, near Hyde park. The hotel stored our bags on the day of our arrival and day of our departure which was very helpful. Room had everything we needed, and everything to be comfortable, air conditioning, shower worked great.
Fantastic hotel, small rooms but overall an easy place to stay and explore London. The AC was great, location was safe and easy to get around and the staff was friendly. For sure would come back again.
Beautiful building inside and out. Location is great for the price it offers. However, a few things in terms of our room (Double bed room)…It was a little dirty on the carpet. The room was not as described on the booking page (AirBnBand the room was much smaller in person. You could hear people very clearly walking past the door of the room.I noticed the photos on booking website do not show the room we were in but instead mostly showcase rooms that have a garden view and one or two ground floor rooms but they make them appear larger than they are.You can store luggage for free in the hotel if you arrive before check-in time. For those looking to book in the future, I would ask for a room with a garden view. Any room that does not have a garden view is at the back of the hotel where construction is taking place for the moment and the rooms are very small.I have attached photos of the bathroom.
I gave the hotel 2 stars because the staff was very helpful and nice. Other than that, I would hve given it a one star as the rooms are extremely small and the breakfast was not worth the price. My husband and I stayed in room with 2 twin beds and when we wanted to get something out of our luggage, we have to put the luggage on our beds. The breakfast was a huge disappointment as it contained cheese, ham, lettuce and eggs. Thank god for the cereal or I would have thought I was having a light lunch. You almost need a college degree to use the coffee machine in the breakfast area. Even though it is a cute boutique hotel, I would recommend booking elsewhere.
Nice hotel in a fantastic location, excellent and welcoming staff. We choose the garden view rooms, and this was the best choice ever! Suggestion: it would be nice to have more choice as for breakfast.
Great stay! Standard single room is fine for a single (and ideally shorterperson.Special shout-out to the hotel worker who took my bags down 4 flights of stairs, when I needed to check-out while the elevator was undergoing maintenance!
The entire staff here are very helpful, hard working people. We especially appreciate all the questions and help that the front desk clerks gave us--especially Dragos--who answered a myriad of questions, Manuela--who helped us get a reservation for a museum that I was struggling to get, and for the ice she got me to help my achy legs, and Lorena--who helped us check in our luggage before we could check in and kept it safe while we explored London. They were very welcoming. The house keeping staff was thorough and detail oriented. They kept our room very clean. The breakfast staff was busy preparing, restocking, and cleaning up the breakfast and breakfast room. They were also very helpful to those who wanted coffee or expresso. Our room was comfortable and had a gorgeous view. The bed made sleeping easy. The service and comfort was a great value for the price we paid.It was close to two tube stations and bus stops, an easy walk to Hyde Park , and surrounded by many shops and places to eat. I would definitely stay here again!
The room was super clean and close by it had tons of restaurants. Check in took less then 5 minutes. The room its self it super small so only my wife and I fit with 2 backpacks and 1 carry on luggage and even that feels tight. But its semi close to everything a quick Uber ride to the main attraction s should only be 10-british pounds. Over all I would definitely stay here again if I came through again. Its better then the last one I stayed at close to all the main touring stuff.
Very clean. Very helpful staff. Nice breakfast area. Rooms are small. Many, eclectic restaurants nearby as well as 2 "Tube" stations on the nearby Queensway / B411 road. 15 minute walk to Paddington station. Hotel WIFI. No gym, no pool. Nearby launderette and shopping. Daytime construction (M-Fat hotel rear continues (June 2022but is not too bad because construction is wrapping up.
Clean hotel close to Paddington Station and some great restaurants. Our room was itty-bitty, barely enough space to open a suitcase. The bathroom was so tiny that I could wash my hands while sitting on the toilet. It was also very loud due to building construction outside our window. But, it was clean and safe. Breakfast was okay, but you can get better food (for less moneyby walking a block to a good bakery.
Had a lovely stay at LHH.ROOM: Very clean and well maintained. Plenty of space for luggage and your belongings. An in-room safe was provided in the armoire. A vanity with a mirror was in the room as well.BATH:The water pressure was great and the temperature was also able to be made to your liking. Plenty of toiletry was provided.LOCATION:The location was impeccable-plenty of great food options near by and 🚇 stations. Would come again.
Pleasant stay here, staff were friendly, check in and out was seamless. Rooms were clean. Only negative to mention would rooms are small butnfor the price in London you wont find better.
Room was ok in need of abit of tlc .was rather hear through with room opposite..was literally in the basement .but met are needs for what we needed..breakfast was only continental and nearly £14 which i thought was rather expensive ,when cafes around were alot cheaper for full English. So didnt eat at the hotel .pleasant stay and would return
Staff were so lovely and accommodating. Loved the fact you could leave your bags before and after check in for free and took good care of them. Not many hotels offer that. Asked for an iron and it was there literally in a matter of minutes. Wi-Fi was great aswell, super fast. Very quiet but yet a street away from Bayswater tube station which isn’t far from Paddington so very accessible to everything. Thank you for a lovely stay. Will visit again.
The receptionist has a very bad treatment. I booked through Booking and I went to him. I want to check in early, but he refused, so I asked him to cancel the reservation. He told me that I can’t cancel through a clamp. The cancellation is done through Booking and canceled the reservation, but I found out after a week that I can’t get a refund. I don’t know why, but The policy of the hotel and their treatment is very bad, as I sent an email more than once and no one answered I want my money 94£
Rooms are decent-sized for London (got the garden view room). Everything is clean. The hotel is less than 10 minutes walk to Bayswater and Queensway tube stations, so it is easy to get to anywhere in London.
Dear Team,I sent to you an email almost one week ago because I would like to book in your hotel on may two nights with a wonderbox and the last night will be paid by myself and nobody can inform me. I tried also three times to speak with the reservation department and the switchoboard operator told me each time there is no one to pick up the phone.May is fast approaching and I really wish get to manage the trip. Thanks in advance to contact me.Kind regards,Morgan
The room we had was very small along with the bathroom. It did the job as a sleeping place and a place to refresh ourselves after a day of exploring. The floor was very creaky and the wifi was unusable (we switched to the EE cellular network on our phones and used that over the wifi. The staff was very pleasant and the area is great if you want to get out of the tourist deathtrap of Piccadilly Circus. Bayswaters station is right next to the hotel so you have the entire Underground right beneath you! Very nice hotel aside from the tiny room and the wifi issues. Would stay there again any day!
Compact but well appointed and equipped room, making for a very comfortable and enjoyable two night stay.Only minutes from Paddington in a lovely tree lined ,quiet square.Reception staff were so lovely with a great sense of humour.Would not hesitate to choose to stay again and again.
Just because its inexpensive does not mean its cheap! Place is everything you want in a major city, location 1 accessible 2 friendly 3. Made a error with my original room at check in but fixed it while i went for a quick walk. Even though the other room was fine just not with garden view. $60 odd quid a night for Kensington gardens (seriouslyyou could pay $300 next door. They must be laundering money! Even the 3 girls at reception were gorgeous, fact!
These folks were great and absolutely saved the day. We originally booked a different hotel a few doors down which we promptly left when, in addition to several other issues which we could have dealt with, we realized the door to our room wasnt able to close properly or even lock! At 6pm on a Friday evening Ryckie, at the desk at London House, immediately stepped up to plate and knocked customer service out of the park. She took the time to show me several different rooms and get pricing sorted, and made sure that we had everything we needed for our weekend stay. The rest of the staff were also pleasant and very helpful, and they even held our bags after check out while we enjoyed our last few hours in the city. While the rooms are fairly small we found them cozy and comfortable. The shower was plenty hot and had good pressure and the tea set up and mini fridge were just what we needed. The location is also great for food and public transport.Id absolutely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
Nice clean, well finished rooms, if not a little small. Note there is major construction work to the rear of the hotel, wasnt an issue for us as it was over the Christmas break, but could pose an issue well into 2022 for others. Continental Breakfast was good. Staff friendly & helpful.
Great location in a quiet square behind Whiteleys. The rooms and beds are small but well proportioned. Clean and well maintained rooms and common areas. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We had the room with garden views which was lovely to wake up to. Breakfast was good too. We will def recommend and will return
Hotel in a good location everything you need on high street closed by, 25 mins walk to Hyde park area but right near Bayswater tube station. Reception staff very friendly, and reception area beautiful but I’m afraid that’s where it ends. I am not one to write negative reviews normally but I feel people need to know especially for prices charged. No where on our booking did it say if your sleeping in the back of the hotel you are facing a construction site, these workers start banging way before 8 am.Our booking said spacious room it certainly wasn’t that. It was very tiny and very dated. There are no draws and kettle is on a shelf with no plug so had to put on dirty floor to boil sit. The bathroom was so tiny you couldn’t dry properly with out hitting something. The shower didn’t work very well, mould along the shower trims, grout filthy and limescale terrible. The carpets were filthy, coffee stains up the wall and bedding wasn’t clean. The bed was a small double and creaked at every slightest movement, if you turned over the bed rocked from side to side and felt like could collapse and the mattress was rock hard so very little sleep for our stay. It’s a shame if the hotel spent a little time updating this could be a great hotel
Very small but clean rooms. There is a massive construction site right next to the hotel, they are only supposed to be working 9-5 but we heard very loud noises early in the morning, way after 5 and sometimes in the middle of the night. They wanted to give us a room in the basement that was recently painted and when I wouldnt take it they agreed to "upgrade" the room to second floor with windows straight to the construction for a discounted price of 30 pounds.Location is good, theres a tube station nearby with access to circle and district line.
