Wooden deck by the beach offering views of Southern right whale activity, from May to Oct.
Didnt spot any whales but definitely a good place to relax and enjoy the breeze.
The place is beautiful but I doubt you are going to see a whale in there. If is your lucky day you will.
We saw a mother and calf southern right whales so cant complain. Wrap up warm through, gloves, hat, jackets, The wind blows uninterrupted from the Antarctic so it is cold. plentiful free parking
Great lookout for wild life... For watching Whales morning time... Some other wild animals can be watched.
Its always great place to go listen to the waves crash and if you are there at the right time of year you can see whales
Visited on April, so no luck with whales. But was able to sit down and relax at the beach. It’s an amazing view from the top. Would definitely recommend visiting this place regardless of whale season if you are visiting Warrnambool.
Really nice spot for viewing the whales during the winter months. The locals who come there to take photos are always friendly and full of knowledge about the whales that visit. There are strict rules on watching and drone photography or videos are not permitted as it could scare the animals. There are often surfers in the water, so if you are an avid photographer, its a good spot to get good action shots. On the weekends, theres usually a mobile coffee van there too if you could use a hot cuppa during your visit.
When we were there there were lots of surfers. Most of them didnt surf but were just lying on their boards watching the three whales putting on a little evening show.
Loved the place! Gets quite crowded on the weekends but thats only because of how great the platforms are. Excellent place for whale watching during the on-season (May to October)!
If weather holds good, then you will have mesmerising view from here. Its a large platform installed facing sea for many people. If you are lucky, will be able to see one of the large mammals swimming around. As it faces sea, gets windy occasionally, so better to keep your self warm.... sure, you will enjoy the view.
Great set up, unfortunately we didnt get to see any whales, make sure you rug up as its very windy. ( visited start of august)
Saw a few whales, going back later in the day to have another look. Great lookout area to see whales and coastline. Definitely worth a visit.
So lucky to see the whale today!amazing !
amazingly beautifulHeart warming place to visit when the whales are present
Well made platform/walk. Can see a long way out but didnt need to as there was a whale only just out of the breaking waves. Definitely a must visit at the correct time
Had a great experience watching 2 whales with their respective calves swimming around.
Large viewing platform which also has benches to sit if you are tired. If you go between June and September for whale watching, please take binoculars or cameras with large lens to see the spectacular whales and calves.Prepare to spend a few hours before you are lucky to see the whales. carry your coffee and sandwiches as there is nothing available at this location, but coffee shops are a 2 minute drive away. I dont think there are any toilets at this location, at least i dont remember seeing any.Stunning views of spotlessly clean beach and crystal clear water.
Great weather on the day for whale watching. Very moving. Gentle gaints of this great ocean that surrounds this great country we live.
Excellent platform to watch Southern Right Whales. You need to be there correct day correct time.
I had a great day at this place as I saw whales supposedly coming over to give birth. It is recommended that when you come over, you can wear thicker clothes, because the wind is really strong.
Not lucky enough to see some whales during our visit. Viewing platform is easily accessible from the carpark. 🐋
Extremely well maintained viewing platform on the Warrnambool coast. Plenty of space to allow lots of people to comfortably admire the view. Good interpretation regarding the whales in the area. Unfortunately we were unable to spot any whales on the day, but the view was still incredible. Would recommend bringing binoculars if you are trying to spot whales.
You need a bit of patience here and take your time. But if you stay here long enough in the season, then youre pretty certain to see whales. Quite an experience. Do bring binoculars or a camera with a telephoto lens.
No whales day we went but a great set up with easy access from carpark to viewing deck (stairs to beach only though), outside shower and of course a great beach for surfers and swimmers. Even in the middle of winter is stunning. Lots of educational information on whales so worth the visit. Always popular.
1st day, arrived around 4pm, we were there for only 15 mins before and saw a whale, it was pretty far out, could make out what was happening with the naked eye, but we had binoculars, Id definitely recommended to bring some, the whale was splashing around having fun for about 10 to 15 mins, it was pretty amazing to see.2nd day (5pmwe popped past for about 30-45 mins and saw nothing.Day 3 we went past around 11am and didnt see anything until we were about to leave, about 45mins later, saw a couple of dolphins briefly
Well build whale watching platform, easy access and was not crowded when I visited.A lot of people curiously waiting to spot those giants 🐳
Great coastline but unfortunately no whales to be seen at this time of year.
the large beautiful waves & strong cool while breath taking create the therapy you need from the daily city life
Great vantage point to try and spot a whale in winter. Or just watch some great surfing in Summer
I think its the most important and beautiful place to see in Warrnambool
This whale watching platform at Logans Beach is tranquil and has a beautiful view of the beach and ocean below
Perfect day with clear skies and the sun shining. Car park was nearly empty, and the ramp to the viewing platform was easy for wheelchairs. Steps are very steep to get down onto the beach.
If there were whales then this is the spot to see them - nevertheless the view was fantastic - loved itSoooooooooooo ............ What type of whales can fly? Pilot whales!:Stop rolling your eyes - this is a good one!
An amazing Whale viewing platform for All Abilities. Spectacular beach view at any time.Easy parking, wheelchair access. A must visit location in Warrnambool.
If youre lucky you might be able to spot a few whales! This beach is aesthetically pleasing and suitable for all months, whether this is for catching waves and building castles during the summer or watching whales during the winter.
Caught some fleeting glimpses of whales at a distance but the place has a great feel to it. You could easily spend a few hours at the deck spotting the whales in and out of the water. Must have - Binoculars
This is a beautiful place to visit, views are amazing, huge lookout point, easy access & also wheelchair access available. The sound of loud waves crashing, lots of walking area to cover, bring your dog, as off leash welcomed, people are lovely & bins available. No whales at the time though.
Great place to maybe see a whale when they feel like gracing you with their presence. Otherwise lots of info boards on whales, lots of viewing points and places to sit! The beach itself is so beautiful, i can see why the whales come here to have babies 🐋🐋
What a breathtaking place. An amazing ocean view. Must come back between June and September to look out of whales as they shouldn’t be COVID-19 affected
One of the Dog-friendly beaches in Warrnambool. That was so fun to off-lead my dog and let him run around.Such a good spot for whoever traveling with furkids and kids. Its a scenic view and great to spend time during the sunset.Parking and wheelchair access are available too.
Beautiful spot to stop and take in the views. Sunsets here are amazing.Beautiful beach to walk on but very strong currents for swimming.
The viewing platform has a gently sloping ramp, making it accessible for people of all different mobility levels and for all types of mobility aids. There is a HUGE flight of stars to access the beach which is not safe for people like me who are unsteady. The viewing platform is well made, it has a gorgeous view, it has seats. We spent an hour here just watching the waves.TL;DR Accesible viewing platform. Access to beach restricted to the able-bodied.
It is a lovely spot with plenty of viewing platform overlooking the nice stretch of beachThe only improvement that I could suggest is to have a public restroom facility close by and being a popular tourist attraction, Im surprised that there isnt one already.
Magnificent view. Long Beach for the dogs to run wild and free. Beautiful sand and a stopover for a photo opportunity. If you are around the area pop by and try to catch a glimpse of whales if you are fortunate.
End point of great ocean road if u r departing from melbourne. Best time to see whales would b from june till nov.Parking is plentiful..buy some sandwiches n grab a beer with u while sitting at one of the benches n enjoy the breeze.U might not see any whales but the scene n breeze here is definitely worth the time spent.Educational boards bout whales r plentiful as well
Logan beach whale watch nursery is a beautiful place. However when we went we didnt see any whales. I believe they come between May to October. Regardless we were able to take in the view and spend time there watching the people who were surfing. Probably a good place to surf as well since we saw many of them doing that here. Plenty of space available as well for vehicles.
A great view, whether there are whales around or not. You can see a long way up and down the coast. The viewing platform is large enough to fit everyone, and offers a good view no matter where you stand. There’s a ramp from the carpark so those with prams or in wheelchairs won’t have any issues. It’s only a very short, easy walk from the carpark to the viewing platform. Make sure this is on your list when you visit Warrnambool!
Beautiful location great views of the ocean and plenty of space to see the whales when there on there trip past .Access is really easy and short from car park and is wheelchair accessible there is no toilets at this location so best to stop in at beach just before hear .
We found that the Logans Beach Platform is well made, and secure. It has multiple levels, and access to the beach. I think its well designed as thanks to the multi levels, a lot of people can use the platforms, and still see whats going on.I managed to see some whales, but they were a little too far out to see them properly. Of course when I used the zoom lens, I could see the whales, but even then, they were a bit shy.I will have to add some of those pictures another time as they are on my camera, and laptop, as I havent had a chance to send any to my phone yet.I plan on returning to Warrnambool for another chance to see the whales, and have a relaxing time, away from home.I highly recommend a visit to Warrnambool, and Logans Beach for a great time. In the Summer the area is great for a getaway, and a swim, but being an ocean beach, be wary of rips.Warrnambool is also a great place to stay, and visit the Great Ocean Road, and the 12 Apostles , and the many other coastal locations.
Fabulous whale watching platform. Very easy access and parking. Its a free platform. There is a well maintained path that will take you to the beach. A wonderful place to spend a good 20mins walking around and capturing the moments. Recommended to carry a pair of binaculos with you.
