Delicious food and drinks. We had a special Valentines menu - it was a bit pricey, but still very good. We did not like the strawberry habanero tart at the end.

Every aspect of Logan is magnificent. It has been said that you can tell the quality of a restaurant by looking no further than their coffee and bread. The drip coffee was rich and wonderfully balanced and the Parmesan scones were masterfully done. The mains were great with my wife getting the shrimp and grits and I had the sauteed trout. Both were perfectly prepared, with unique and well balanced flavor profiles. The service was also professional and well informed, which is somewhat of a rarity in Ann Arbor. It was a truly great overall experience.

Once our favorite Ann Arbor restaurant but not what it once was. Smaller menu and wine list, no amusee, no Kevin to discuss wine selections. no longer serving your wonderful coffee. Anything but crispy, crispy duck special, dry short ribs, raw quail and slow service.

Went to Logans for the first time yesterday evening and had an exceptional experience. With the petite plate options you can comfortably afford getting 6+ different dishes and they are all equally delicious and still impressively sized. Adding it to our list of restaurants that we will frequent!

Very disappointing. Made reservations to celebrate our 33rd anniversary. We were rushed in, our appetizer came at the same time as our entrees. We were not offered any bread (other tables were). My glass if wine didnt come until were were half-way through, and we were rushed out. Server brought the check and unceremoniously plopped it down without even asking if we wanted dessert. To be clear, we are an adult couple who were nicely dressed. Probably the last time we will eat at Logan. There are too many options for good food AND good service in Ann Arbor.

I will never eat here again. While sitting outside a homeless man sat down at a table to rest. He had some problems walking and some mental issues. The manager had a problem with him resting and made him leave because he didnt fit the aesthetic. Same on this business for not trying to build the community up by supporting the vulnerable. I will never ever come back here again and if people ask me about it Ill tell them to stay far away. This business should not be supported

Always one of my favorite places to eat in Ann Arbor. I love the new petite plate options because now I can get two plates and try more of their delicious menu! Service is always wonderful, food is always presented beautifully with attention to detail, and I enjoy each and every bite. You wont be disappointed.

The attention to details here will impress you. We sat at the bar and ordered dinner, and looked on as the bartender—in between orders— inspected each washed/dried wine glass under white halogen light. The kitchen has that same attention to details. Things like sauces and reductions really stand out. We ordered from the 3 course Restaurant Week menu, the short ribs and the Tunisian Pork tenderloin for main courses; this was preceded by lovely Ceasar salads that featured a bit of house pesto, and tasty grits and shrimp appetizer. The flights of red wine were carefully paired with each course, especially accentuating the plated proteins. And to top it off, my bread pudding was quite delectable. Feel free to “like” if this was helpful, and be sure to check out the pics I took of my wonderful dining experience at Logan Restaurant this evening.

Well, that was something. Dont come here unless you are older and/or white. Otherwise, they wont treat you very well. Now this might be a bit sensationalist, but thats how I (a black man in his early 30sand my girlfriend (white and in her late 20sfelt. We did not have a reservation because we knew wed get there early (around 5:30), and weve never seen it that busy. When we got there, we were told that there werent any tables available even though there were several open two person tables (which stayed available the entire time we were there). However, the hostess said that we could sit at the bar and get full service, so we decided to go for it. She took our coats, and when we sat down the bartender was actually very nice. After we got our appetizer, the manager/owner came up and asked us to move over to the end of the bar because another party was coming. Ive NEVER been asked to move before, especially while at a bar where its first come, first served and we were already eating. Obviously, we didnt want to, but we acquiesced because we didnt want it to be any more awkward than it already was. Eventually the other people showed up and were seated in our original seats. They (an older white coupleobviously knew the manager, and it was clear at that point that they were more important than us. Ive never felt more disrespected and inconsequential at a restaurant. We werent their "standard" clientele, so we were written off from the beginning. All that said, the reason they are still getting 2 stars is because the bartender was great and tried to make up for it by giving us a free drink, and the food itself was actually very good -- tempura asparagus to start; quail and pesto gnocchi as mains; and a chocolate mousse to finish. Just know that you wont get the service you deserve unless you fit in with who the manager/owner thinks should be there. We were an inconvenience to him and simply didnt feel welcome overall.

Another great experience for Restaurant Week here, and the courses complimented each other perfectly (along with the wine pairings). The only slight thing I noticed was the atmosphere was a little rushed...but based on the quality and number of customers, Im not too surprised.

All the dishes we tried at the Logan were packed with flavor and well prepared and presented. The only drawback I would say is the price per quantity of food in the appetizers and salads. Take the duck fritter for example, $6 seemed very reasonable but when there was only ONE on the dish we were blown away. It was barely enough for one and we shared it. I suppose if we were made aware of this at first maybe it wouldnt have been such a shock but even then why just one. It even looks tacky. Overall the service was decent and the food was good though.

Truly underrated local restaurant. Easy to overlook in the face of the ever expanding Ann Arbor dining scene, the Logan menu is filled with gems. Whereas a lot of modern restaurants try to blitz you with the latest decor trends (while serving subpar food), Logan perhaps drops the ball a bit on interior design, yes... but succeeds where it counts the most — they serve delicious cuisine. If you care about food first and foremost, add Logan to your list of places to visit.

Certainly one of Ann Arbor’s premier restaurants, Logan offers a wide selection of expertly crafted entrees with high quality service. In all of my visits, I’ve consistently received small sample dishes from the chef as a thank you for stopping in. The wait staff is very pleasant and helpful, as well. My personal recommendation is the bourbon tenderloin, though the menu has a wide variety of options. The prices are a little higher than your average Ann Arbor restaurant, but can be attributed to high quality ingredients. Logan is a fabulous restaurant for dates, business meals or parent dinners.

Sooooo delicious! Small, intimate and classy. I think you may need a reservation but we licked out by finding 3 available seats by the bar area. Cameron was at the bar that night and he was just the best! I wish I could take him back to Portland with me! The food portions were beautifully presented and our tummies were equally as happy! When Im back in Ann Arbor, this will be a to-go spot for sure. Bon apetit!

We really enjoy this place and think its one of the better restaurants downtown. The menu is moderately sized and prices for entrées range from 18-30. The dishes are well executed and flavorful. The dining room seats roughly 40 and noise level is normal for a crowded restaurant, not too loud but not quiet.Chef sends out an amuse bouche which is a nice start to the meal.My one complaint is the price of beer. $8 for a bottle of a standard Michigan beer? For a bottle? Please. I feel like theyre charging more just because theyre a pricier restaurant.

While the food was tasty and high quality, the prices for the tiny portions of food we were served were ridiculously high. In addition, the service was not great- we had to ask three times to receive bread for the table. We were told ahead of time that we had to be finished by 8:30 for another reservation, yet they didnt serve our food until 8:15. Would not recommend.

This was the restaurant I was most looking forward to and most disappointed with during our trip to Ann Arbor. The fennel salad came warm as if sitting out for a long period of time and the garlic chips on the Logan salad tasted like burnt bitter kettle chips. The gnocchi were giant and very heavy. My partners stomach was upset after eating them. The pork tenderloin (best thing of the nightwas cooked perfectly but then sliced making it dry by the time we received it. Everything was very reminiscent of the late 80s early 90s dining but not in an ironic hipster fashion.Service I guess you could call it that. Was good when our waitress was around but she kept disappearing for long periods of time. The restaurant itself was well kept but for the life of me I dont understand how they could only have one bathroom? Makes for a little awkward moment when you exchange glances with people waiting outside the door as you come out.One last thing to the owner. If your staff are going to impersonate pedestrians passing on the sidewalk they shouldnt do it in front of your establishment in plain view of your patrons sitting in the front window. I get it sucks to have to deal with an influx of tourists during special events but theyre spending good money in your small town. Appreciate the added business. There are many other great places in Ann Arbor with great people working there. Try one of them instead.

Logan was absolutely amazing. You feel so taken care of from the moment you walk into the door. I ordered the greek lamb while my friend ordered the entree version of the gnocchi. The chef gave us complimentary potato leek soup - a pleasant surprise, in addition to 4 mini house made biscuits for our meal. Amazing! The food was awesome and each flavor was clearly and careful curated for a wonderful dining experience. Worth the cost for a nice dinner out for a special occasion!

I went there during restaurant week. It was pretty easy to get a reservation which was nice.I thought that the place was overhyped for a couple of reasons:1. The inside was pretty crammed and we were seated in the middle of their small space which felt like we were in everyones way. The interior design wasnt my favorite either, but its ok. I guess this place is more old fashioned.2. I love cooking so when I go out to a place I want something unique. I felt that I could have made their food myself. If you like homey food then maybe it will be just for you, but I wasnt that big of a fan. It was really heavy so my stomach didnt feel well after.3. The main reason I gave it 3 stars is their price. If our bill was half the amount then this place would definitely deserve a 4 star. But even with restaurant pricing it was super overpriced for what it was.

This place gives pretentiousness a bad name. The Hostess, "Kevin-the-water-bearer" and our server all asked how we were. Kevin was NOT AMUSED when I suggested he check with the hostess as we left the details of the status of our state of being with her. (Note to Kevin - playing along with a CUSTOMER sometimes works best. The noise level in the tiny cramped seating area was oddly not so bad. The din of conversations seemed to work. I did NOT appreciate the wait staff person who tucked in her garment while talking to diners at our adjoining table and yes, this was approx 7 inches from my face whilst eating. Not pleasant. Interesting to see how servers and waitstaff rarely moved out of the way of approaching patrons as they negotiated the narrow pathways between tables. That being said, my wife and I liked the gratis tomato soup served before the meal. Nice touch AND it set the pace for our taste expectations. The wait staff did not hover AND our water glasses were never beyond half full. All staff were appropriately interactive without wanting to be our new besties. Dressings on both salads were sparse and may have been bland had we been able to taste them. Apparently, 30 year old balsamic doesnt travel well. Entres were nicely sized and the presentation was very unassuming. Thank you, the food spoke well for itself. My wifes salmon tasted wild as it should have and the cucumber melange served atop the plentiful slab was refreshingly different. I ordered the 10oz steak which was oddly served in cut pieces like a flank steak. About 1/2 of the meat was chewy and difficult to CUT. I was too worn out to consider a round trip ticket to the kitchen. The middle section was PERFECTO, fork cuttable and mouth melting. Underneath the steak was a plentiful platform of perfectly cooked green beans.I do not consume alcohol in any form and when I asked if another sauce could be substituted for the reduction of veal juices and port and red wine, I was told the alcohol cooks out in the preparation process. (Note to wait staff EVERYWHERE. If a patron states his/her preference for non-alcoholic dressing and other accoutrements, It is most likely said patron is aware of the subject of alcohol-dissipation. If I say I would like non-alcoholic food prep, I really do mean it.. Thank you, very much)Understanding the well intentioned desire of the waitstaff, I appreciate the attempt to dissuade, however, NO does mean No; accepting that the veal reduction was far more appealing than any other substitute. So, thank you one and all, yes it was pricey AND it is a premium dining experience for the most part.

Frech influenced american style haute cuisine, but really its even better than that. This is a place to take someone special for that once in a while experience. They do amazing things with beef, fish and even vegetables. They have a lovely house salad with an aged vinaigrette that seriously sets the atmosphere for the meal. They have excellent taste in (surprisingly affordablewine so if you want wine to augment your dinner dont hesitate to ask their advice.Theyre often busy so make reservations. But in a pinch they have 4 seats at the bar you can get in if youre patient.

I think Logan is one of the best restaurants in Ann Arbor, it is definitely leagues above the main street ventures restaurants (in my opinion). I have been here several times now, each time getting something different (twice the tasting menu, once standard menu itemand it has consistently been great. Also the guests I came with were also happy with their food and service. The tasting menu, if you are willing to splurge, is the best. It is a blind tasting, so it is exciting to see what is next. And with the wine pairing also, it is quite superb. The sommelier is very knowledgable and will tell/talk to you about any of their wines. The food presentation is beautiful and timed well, the flavors are really quite fantastic. If I could say anything negative about Logan, the only reason I would say it is not quite the best in Ann Arbor is simply because of their environment/presentation. The outside of the restaurant does not draw so much appeal and is not very fantastic looking. It does not represent well what it is harboring inside. The inside is also quite plain and the paint on the walls almost being cheap looking. If I could suggest anything for Logan, it would be a nice makeover, because it is a fantastic restaurant with a very excellent and knowledgable chef and staff, let your residence show it!

The ambience when we went to this restaurant was very busy and a little loud at times. To start the chef prepares an appetizer that is sent to your table almost upon arrival. When we were there, it was cold asparagus soup that was very flavorful. The appetizer that we selected from the menu was the lobster roulade that was very disappointing. The flavor combination did not work well, even though the lobster was very delicate and cooked perfectly. Basically, this was a spin on an egg roll, which was deep-fried and took away from the flavor of the lobster. The bacon & eggs salad was a very unique salad. Surprisingly there is not any bacon on the salad. In place of the bacon is a crisp piece of toast that tastes exactly like bacon. Amazing salad if you enjoy a runny egg and bacon. For the main entrées we had the coulette steak and the Thai scallops. Both of us agreed that the scallops were by far superior. Thai scallops that were very large in size and true diver scallops. These were cooked to perfection in a coconut cream sauce that was phenomenal! The only downside to this meal is that it is served with potatoes instead of rice. The rice is needed to soak up the sauce and help balance out the Asian flare on this dish. Both of the potatoes that came with the dishes, the mashed potatoes and dauphine potatoes were lacking flavor. For dessert, we had the rice pudding with berries that was tasty but for rice pudding was at the low end of the spectrum. Overall this is a unique restaurant that is trying some new innovations with food that are fun to experience.

Weve been going to Logan for years, since they first opened. The food is consistently excellent, as are the cocktails and the wine.Sometimes theyve had waiters that werent the greatest, but these didnt stay very long. The regular, long-time staff is excellent. They know our names, and even know our favorite wines.Im surprised at the reviews complaining about portion size, and assume these folks must be used to chains like Red Lobster where they plop a giant trough of vittles on the table. -- Logan is about quality, not quantity, and the portions are just right. The best things on the menu are the yummy cocktails, the avocado/crab appetizer, the fennel salad and the Thai scallops. Their best desserts are warm cookies and milk and this awesome pear pastry served warm and topped with ice cream. We have a reservation for next month. Cant wait :-)
