Lock Chicago Escape Rooms in Evanston

We hosted a small corporate team building event. Everyone had a great time. It was challenging and fun. We had two teams of 8 compete against eaach other. Looking forward to coming again.Talaya J.

Ive been to a few other escape rooms and this was among the best, if not the best.

Had a great time as this was our team building event. A bunch of puzzles to solve as part of an entire mission and an hour to do it.

I reached out to Lock Chicago to see if they would be willing to donate to our annual fundraiser. They quickly responded and were very gracious in offering their support once again this year. The staff is super helpful and easy to work with, thank you! We are looking forward to including their item in our silent auction - it’s always a big hit!

Yet another place with a great concept and a good location that fails miserably because of insufficient help. There was no "Help Wanted" sign, so apparently this is the status quo. I would guess they pay $5,000 a month in rent and cant find it in their hearts and minds to pay one more employee $15/hr during busy weekend times. Even Pump It Up carries 2 or 3 floor employees.

I absolutely love this company and the experience they provide. From booking, through escaping (or not). The staff are all pleasant and the customer service is excellent. They have even donated to an auction that I organized.

We came and defeated the Matsui room. It was a lot of fun with lots of details and surprises going into the puzzle. I definitely want to go back to take on the other rooms.

I reached out to Lock Chicago for a donation to support my Phi Lambda Upsilon at Northwestern University fundraiser for Girls 4 Science. We were on a short timeline, but Lock Chicago responded next day and generously offered a ticket package. It is wonderful to have such supportive local businesses!

My husband and I visited the Locked Chicago- Eacape Rooms location during our stay in Evanston, IL. We had an amazing time trying to solve one of the medium-hard puzzles (Malfunction). And the experience overall was truly awesome! My family and I really enjoy doing escape rooms, so we signed up for Malfunction. Honestly, it was underwhelming. Many escape rooms play into the themes, including decor and interesting clues. Malfunction was a sparsley decorated room where the theme had nothing to do with the escape room. We solved an array of unrelated puzzles and ended up successfully completing the room. If you just want to solve random puzzles, then this escape room is fine but if you are looking for a unique escape room experience that challenges everyone to work together, tests different skills, and really challenges you to think outside the box then I would skip this escape room. At one point we were using a tuner to get the code to one clue and the tuner didnt even work consistently. This would be a lower ranked escape room out of what we have completed.However, I do want to emphasize the staff member helping us out was friendly and explained the rules well. The biggest complaint is that the room set up and puzzles were just meh.

My family loved the escape room we completed at Lock Chicago! It was a really well made and intricate puzzle that everyone enjoyed!! The staff was so nice and the hint/help during the game was personalized so it wasn’t too easy or too hard! They are also very accommodating with booking changes in advance and reply to emails almost immediately (even during holiday weeks)! We will most definitely be returning, it was worth every penny.

Being a big fan of escape rooms, I think this one is my favorite. Not only is it a great place, but its a generous one that cares about its community. The people at Lock are fabulous and they kindly donated to our school fundraiser as well. Anytime you can have a great place that really cares, its wonderful.

My 14 year old son and his friends had a blast at Lock Chicago! Challenging, fun experience had by all his friends. Lock Chicago is a perfect place to host a party event for teens. We will definitely go back.

Great experience for friends and family! Themes are unique compared to some of the other escape rooms we’ve done and the puzzles are really intuitive. Friendly host who did a great job explaining the story. Definitely recommend thanks Lock Chicago!

Great time we had a group of 7 and had a fun time. There was something for everyone to do, no one was left wandering around. The staff was super helpful and when we asked for hints gave good hints not just vague ones. Overall would recommend to anyone. Cant wait to go back and try another room.

Everyone in my group had done 30+ escape rooms and unfortunately we all thought that this was our least favorite. The theming and decorations in the room felt cheap, the puzzles ranged from trite to nonsensical, and there just weren’t any parts of the experience that produced memorable moments.The staff was friendly and it seemed like they’re trying their best, but I’m shocked they have such high reviews given that there are just simply so many higher-quality escape rooms out there.

We were visiting family in Evanston and wanted to try an escape room luckily found these guys nearby. There were only four of us but we liked that all their rooms are private. The manager was very nice and helpful as we had a couple kids so they did a nice job explaining the game and story. We escaped with 2 minutes to spare, thanks Sam! We will certainly be back next time were in town.

We went with a group of 5 and did Lock Chicagos Matsuri room and had a blast! This was our standard escape room group as weve done a few other rooms in the Milwaukee/Chicago area. The facility was very clean and the host was friendly and accommodating. Looking forward to trying out their Malfunction room next.

My family and I did Matsuri at Lock Chicago last weekend and had a great time. It was our 2nd escape room in the Chicagoland area and the host was very nice. Cool puzzles and location. Parking was easy and right in front in the lot. Will definitely be back to try their other rooms. Was very clean and they provided hand sanitizer before we went in.

My friends and I were visiting Evanston and stopped by Lock Chicago to try their "Matsuri" room. Weve done about 4 rooms as a group before so were not experts or anything but this was fairly difficult as we try not to use any clues for our rooms. We got out with about 5 minutes to go and had a blast! There are some clever use of props and decor and the host was very friendly.The business is located in a larger building but it felt very clean and safe as we were the only group there so didnt run into any other businesses or guests. They said the escape rate was about 35% for the room we did so looking forward to coming back and trying the others.

I am so appreciative of Lock Chicago’s generous, community-minded philosophy. They were very positive about making a silent auction donation for our preschool’s 50th anniversary benefit. We are so excited to have their business represented in our silent auction. I have heard from friends who have been there that their escape room experiences are awesome!!!

Absolutely Amazing from top to bottom!!! My family and I (there were 7 of uswent to experience the "Malfunction" room on Christmas Eve 2019 and had such a blast! We were kindly greeted (by the creator of the roomupon arrival, given a thorough explanation on how the experience works, the rules were explained, given tips on how to best solve the clues as a team, and wished a fantastic time. Once our hour was up we were greeted once more to make sure our experience was satisfactory- it was above and beyond!!! I cant wait to go back again and try the other rooms! I HIGHLY recommend experiencing Lock Chicago; if you go youll have a blast!!!

Amazing time with family! Visited from San Francisco during thanksgiving and our family of 12 did 2 of Lock Chicagos rooms. only 1 group got out but the rooms were fun and challenged us. Staff was very helpful and friendly when giving hints. Highly recommend.

Not only was this a great experience for my small group, we came in for a bachelor party last year, but they are also incredibly dedicated to their community! We loved the Matsuri room so much (even though we didnt technically escape!that when the chance to recommend a place for our upcoming fundraiser came up, I jumped at recommending Lock Chicago. Dont miss the chance to have a truly creative and unique experience here! Other places just offer a small room with lots of bells and whistles but nothing to really bring you in, Lock Chicago has the whole package!

The staff were very generous with their time in helping our party solve the riddle of the Sun Room. As a company Lock Chicago was a pleasure to work with. They were very professional and were quick with replies to emails. We worked with them regarding a charitable donation of four tickets to the Northwestern University Chemistry Departments PLU raffle fundraiser. This fundraiser was for "Girls 4 Science," a non-profit organization that is dedicated to exposing girls in the Chicago area, ages 10-18 years old, to science, technology, engineering and math (STEMfields. Great to see a local business helping out the community!On the customer side, I have participated in one of the escape rooms last year and it was a great time! The room was a perfect balance of being challenging without being impossible to figure out. I recommend this place often to friends and Im planning on returning soon.

Wow! Talk about testing your mental I.Q. and coming out humbled ... that is, if you make it out! Lock Chicago was so much fun, challenging, gets you to tap into your out of the box self and into a mode to crack the code! Great for small or large groups. We loved it so much at first go that we decided to book out the entire place and host a party there of 72 people utilizing all 3 rooms in two separate sessions. Lock Chicago was so accommodating and handled everything smoothly. Nicely located around several great restaurants and bars, too, so you can relax your mind when you are done with your mental marathon! Love this place!

Our GM team visited Lock Chicago a couple weeks ago after we heard great things about their rooms. They did not disappoint! Staff was very friendly and helpful, we did their Sunburn and Matsuri room and they stuck around for a while afterwards to chat. It was great seeing their passion for escape rooms and the overall business. Wish we had more time to do their last room but we will definitely be back soon to try it. Highly recommend these guys for a team building event or just a fun time with friends or family!

Lock Chicago is a fantastic experience for any escape room aficionado, or even just a group of friends looking for a fun afternoon or evening. The staff was very helpful and friendly, but the room itself was full of tricks and turns. It required the perfect amount of puzzle skills, and kept us on our toes. Hats off to them for their creativity, I am planning my next trip currently!

After reading reviews of Lock Chicago from others I am super excited for our family and friends to experience this fun place. Lock Chicago has a friendly staff that has been super supportive of local non profits. They were generous enough to donate to our raffle which helped the Cambodian Museum to raise extra funds for our program. My best friend luckily won their prize and will gather a group of friends to hang out at Lock Chicago!

Nobody in our group had ever done an escape room before and werent sure what to expect.. In short.. It was AMAZING! The staff are gracious and kind and the room was such a treat. We went with a group of kids from a mentor project that I am a director in and from age 9 to 28 we all enjoyed it and were challenged! Our kids loved it and theyre already asking to go back!
