There is a nice bird hide behind the chalets. Its not RSPB but as good as The Loons.

Great location. Owners lovely and very helpful. Stayed in one of their more updated chalets and it was very nice and kids loved it.

A nice place, lots of various birds around- quite a symphony you can hear at dusk:well equipped house, very peaceful and quiet. And good price. Much recommended:)

Right in the heart of the Orkney mainland between Kirkwall and Stromness. All of the main sights, Skara Brae, Maes Howe, Ring of Brodgar etc. are within a short drive. There is a Co-op in Dounby with great prices considering were on an island. The Chalets are clean and well maintained. Cozy rather than fancy.Phyllis, the owner is a native islander with a wide knowledge of the islands history and wildlife.

A very enjoyable 4 weeks in April at Lochland chalets. Very good bird hide in the garden. We will return!
