Local Food Market - Tuscan restaurant in Lucca, Italy
Lovely food, the best we have had in lucca, service very good.We will come here again
Terrible client service, prices higher than quality. We have ordered an Italian standard food (lasagnawhich they didn’t have during the lunch time - same as pizza. The food which we got wasn’t even good. Waitress can’t speak English. We didn’t expect much and received below average.
nice food, nice location in the backyard
Looked great, and was half empty , we asked for just a drink, but wasnt interested so off we went. So wont bother going for food
Delicious and quick! We had to catch a bus and they worked with us to quickly eat and leave.
Sligt, bad.Long waiting timeNo englishBasic food, overpriced (salad with no dressing)
A big No…!!!From me and a place to avoid…!!!The food was horrible, it looks like it’s been defrosted, putted in a microwave and served…..!!!We ordered pasta and grilled meat and came in couple of minutes in rush hour when the shop was full. This makes us wonder, after we tried it we understand the obvious…..Avoid….!!!
Please dont go to this restaurant, The waiters speak coal english, the antipasti was bad, a dog can cook better although the main dish was ok. We asked them to remove our food from the table because there was hair inside the pizza. The place itself looks humble and it is located in a nice courtyard. We waited 10 minutes extra because they forgot the order. On the picture we were walking away from the place. Ciao.
Glad I didnt check the recent reviews. Very cozy outside dining area, very friendly staff and the food was fresh and tasteful. Our food arrived extremely quickly although I must admit we were the only group there at that point. Would recommend!
A dreamy atmosphere, sweet staff and the food was amazing!!! High quality and not bland at all. I have bad experiences with caprese salad but here, the tomato and mozzarella really tasted high quality. I also recommend the spicy salami pizza!
The concept sounds good: local food. Sadly the food didn’t taste very well. The pizza and pasta was not more than okay, the bruschetta overpriced and the salad seemed to be a bit old. I expected to get local olive oil and vinegar, instead we got a cheap olive oil from Conad supermarket. The service was not good. We got wine but no glasses, the ordering was confusing and we didn’t get everything we ordered. Even in the bill there was a fault. Our group was very disappointed. Can’t recommend it at all.
Charming pizzeria and restaurant in Lucca city center! While strolling through one of the most picturesque streets of Luccas historic center (Via San Paolino), we discovered Local Food Market, a place that caught our attention as soon as we saw it. We fell in love with this place due to the excellent service, the beautiful ambiance, and the exquisite pizzas. I would definitely go back.
Probably the most underwhelming meal that I have ever had in Italy. Average quality, overpriced, poor service. The steak tartare was not of the best cut, very chewy. The waitress arrived with our primi just as we had started our antipasti, and would not take them away, so we felt rushed and crowded. My draft beer was poured so badly, half the glass was foam. We were charged 69 Euros for two antipasti, two primi, a small carafe of house red wine, one draft beer, and a bottle of water. This would have been high in any event, but definitely outrageous given the quality of food and service. No locals were eating there, which should have been our first warning except that we were early for lunch. Absolutely not recommended, especially when there are so many better-priced, better quality restaurants nearby.
This was the worst meal we have had in 4 weeks in Italy. The service was dreadful, rushing the primi 5 minutes after the antipasti! Beer had 5 inches of foam! Pasta very ordinary, chingale was all fat. So disappointing. 69€. Outrageous price for what we got. The only good thing was the beautiful lemon trees.
Nice well priced food and good service in a lovely outdoor setting.
Slow, indifferent service - if youd like to wait an hour for your (admittedly decentpizza, this is the place for you! They try to be local Tuscan - but the food does not quite match the intention
Nice place , good local food , very good price!! You can also buy local wine and food
The pizza was very good and the service was fast, even during the busy time of Lucca Comics and Games.
We shared a mixed.salad and a wood fired pizza with ham, olive, artichoke, and mushroom. All the ingredients are top quality. Very good thin crust with excellent flavor. Very friendly and efficient service. Nice outdoor seating. They also sell speciality local products.
Poor food, poor wine, waiting staff were awful. Waste of an evening in lovely Lucca
Tucked away off a side street. A real gem with good food. Maybe not to everyones taste but worth a look at the location and menu if nothing else.
Food is just outstanding. The calzonne are huge and delicious, so is their pizza of course; I highly recommend the caprese. A very pleasant and comfortable outdoor dinning area. A must to eat there when in Lucca
Excellent tasting food. Small portions but the pasta was filling.
Such a beautiful location in the center of Luca. The food is absolutely amazing and the staff speaks a bit English and is friendly. This place is a great place to have dinner.
The inner patio is lovely, green, decorated with actual lemon trees. Food is quite ok. Some dishes were better than others. A bit overpriced tho.The service is a whole other story. Waiting for everything with no apparent reason. The attitude was mediocre at best. And yes, they forgot to bring parmesan for our pasta dishes (we are in Italy after all😳
Very cosy restaurant in Lucca if you wish to taste fresh local dishes and get off the heat.
The food was OK, the surrounding very nice - 2 stars.Unfortunately our service personnel was not good. It took a lot of time to prepare tables for another group while we were waiting. Then it took a while to get menus and another one before our orders were taken. The wine was put to our table while rushing by. The pizza arrived quickly - sooner than knives and forks. And when I wanted to pay I had to wait patiently before a long smalltalk (?with some known guest was finishedOverall we felt like not wanted. 😒
Turned up late on Sunday and they still found time for us. Good beetroot risotto and great buffalo insalata. Super service too.
This is a wonderful place : dine outside in a very characteristic old building, beautifully renovated. The service is excellent and so is the food. The menu is rich and full of surprises. Portions are just right not to stuff you up before the next one comes but not stingy either. All products are local, the few that are not, like coffee, are fair trade. Good selection of beers, wine and grappa
This food was delicious! All the vegetables and main ingredients are locally grown. Everything was exceptionally fresh!
Food and location are ok, but dont expect a true local experience. There are more authentic options available in the city.
I have eaten here numerous times over the years and have never been disappointed. My last visit we ate wild boar ragu with polenta and the red house wine, plus dessert, it was divine and reasonably priced.
Pasta was very small portion and not very good. The pizza was good and crusty :-p Good quality for the ingredients. The staff is awful, it feels that they didn’t want to work... We had to chase them to order. Will not recommend it.
Food tasted good. But way over priced and portion size really small. We paid almost 100 euro and eat down the street shortly afterwards. If your looking for taste its good. If your looking for a filling meal its bad.
Very slow service. We waited 50 min for the food. The staff tried to convince is that this is normal. The portions were on the smaller side. The apitizer was quite disappointing out of all the apitizer two were nice. 3/10 for taste. The pork was dry inside and chewy 5/10 for taste. The ravioli had a bland taste 4/10. The rabbit was the only dish that was good 8/10. Overall we were not impressed of the food. Oh and pizzas where not available to order that day.
Easy going venue with great local food at value pricing. Service is top notch.
My fiance and I had our pre-wedding dinner at Local Food Market, and couldnt have been happier with the evening. They were very helpful planning the menu and schedule in advance, and set up tables in their beautiful green backyard with lots of lighting. All the guests loved the food, and the staff really went the extra mile to make us happy, with one of them even going back to her place to find a cable so we could play our own music. Thank you!
Fresh food and local dishes. Nice outdoor terrace and option to shop for goods. A nice surprise, first time there... And Im Italian :)
A wonderful sangiovese wine drunk with a pork tenderloin dinner made with apples and chestnut honey...done perfectly. The cheese appetizer was delicious. Wait staff is attentive. The outdoor seating area is lovely. A 5 star experience at reasonable pricing.
Food was very nice did get are orders mixed up when they brought food to table they did not explain what was what ...so disappoint on that side but nice settings ,,,
Great little courtyard with lovely staff, nothing was too much for them. Food was also delicious, esp the pasta.
The place is just lovely. The garden is beautiful with a very relaxing atmosphere. The food wasnt bad but I cannot say that was fantastic.I was quite disappointed with the staff. Not very friendly.
Very pretty little deli and restaurant in central Lucca. Charming romantic spot. Great menu of Italian classics, and good selection of drinks. Excellent service.
Amazing service, friendly staff, would highly recommend...plus Mario the resident sausage dog is a worth the trip ❤️
The spaghetti with bacon was really delicious!
Great little garden, yummy bruschetta board with liver pate, olive pate, tomato and lardo + a meats board and the yummiest bread yet in Italy. Washed down with a blonde beer... perfetto!
Really good and fresh food! Fair prices and a beautiful place. Very nice service, only the team spirit within the service not amazing. Which is a bit a shame as a guest. But still highly recommended.
The food is very good, many choices! The atmosphere is very nice and the staff very friendly. Worth visiting!!
Beautiful location and atmosphere and a great selection of delicious food. Highly recommended.
Highly raccomanded.....the restaurant is set in a beautiful courtyard sourranded by lemon plants. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly!
