Lo Exquisito del Mar - Seafood restaurant in Medellin, Colombia
So expensive 1 meal calamari and shrimp 100 m
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! Based on its high review ratings, my fiance and I chose this restaurant. We asked the server what was the best dish and she convinced us to order the Red Snapper, which she stated was grande and enough for two. The meal came with fish soup and a tiny flavorless salad. The fish was deep fried and served whole. It was overcooked, extremely dry and bland. The biggest surprise and disappointment was when we got the bill. Although the server stated price was 65,000, the check was 127,000. When we tried to understand why the price was much more than expected, the server acted as if it was already understood and made no attempt to explain. Not wanting to cause a scene, we paid the bill. When my fiance went to the counter to ask for change for the tip, the server took the money and said they had no change. Bothered, my fiance decided to ask the manager the price of the fish. Already alarmed, the flustered manager abruptly said 65,000, but then quickly recanted after she grabbed our bill, which she was already suspiciously familiar with, to say it varies based on the size of the fish, which was never explained. Although we remained calm, only seeking an explanation for our confusion, the managers loud and argumentative demeanor created a huge scene. At the end of the day, we felt taken advantage of and made to feel ignorant since we speak broken Spanish. The cost was not the issue, but the principal of honesty and their lack of integrity handling the matter was truly despicable.
The service was phenomenal and the food was delicious. Didn’t have to wait to be seated…
Overrated. Not prepared well and overpriced. Long waits on week ends. Sazón del mar Pacífico is much better and near.
Great seafood, excellent atmosphere!
Seems like a very popular spot. Menu had less options than i thought. Didnt see any ceviche options on the menu, but the waiter still accommodated and brought me a pink salsa shrimp ceviche (ceviche camarones con salsa rosa). Very spacious restaurant, but practically full during lunch hours.I also tried the coconut flan (flan de coco), which was okWill give it another try next time i am in the area.
Very good food, service is great, restaurant very clean and friendly staff
The food here is incredible so good I had to go back several times. I had the shrimp and fish soup with coconut rice. So creamy, fresh and the flavor is like no other. The first time I came the owner she came up to me introduced herself she was a delight, however the next time I went I was treated poorly by the darker skin lady who wears her short curtly hair in a ponytail. She couldnt understand my Spanish, she became very frustrated walked away yelling, the staff in the back started laughing except for this tall young man who seemed to care about the customers experience. He came up to me and tried his best to speak English, ended up taking my order within a minute. So this is for the 3 stars. Treat everyone nicely yall come to our country and dont even try to learn English at least I am attempting to speak your language
Great food and service and affordable price.I felt like a king here.
Not bad but the close very early
Food was delicious 😋
Like a lot!First time here and my Filetes de Bassa w salsa maracuya was really great 👍🏻
Great sea food
This is by far the most authentic seafood restaurant in Medellin with very good preparation, service and at reazonable prices. There is not another restaurant with 45 seafood items on the menu including lobster.
Sweet
Lovely, family owned and operated eatery with an extensive menu. Very fresh seafood, good flavors.
Food was ok great service
As you can see from our photo, this place serves good food but mostly all fried. The iced tea served at every table was really refreshing. The avocado, HUGE. It is not easy I imagine to be a seafood restaurant in a city located high up in the mountains away from any fresh coastal fisheries. No beer, wine or spirits available for sale here; did not ask about byob but also did not see anyone with their own drinks during our Saturday afternoon late lunch visit.
Loved this place. An unpretentious local spot to get good food at reasonable prices. A waiter who doesnt speak a word of English but is super nice otherwise. Everything was delicious, from seafood soup and grilled tuna to shrimps and calamari in creamy sauce.A must visit.
Amazing seafood priced for locals.
Very friendly staff with excellent service and excellent food.
They got very nice sea food!
One of my favorite restaurant in the city. Their specialty is the sea food, the cazuela de mariscos and sancocho are strongly recommend.
Excellent place to taste sea Food.
the taking of the order is a little disorganize. took a while to actually take order but food arrived very fast. coconut milk casserole is Excellent. one down side in my experience is that the owner allowed some young man to start screaming at the top of his lungs ( he thought he was simgingand ruined my dinning experience...got very upset and paid, left without ordering dessert or coffee.
Amazing seafood! The coconut rice with sopa de mariscos is incredible.
I am coming here again, it was my first time and was very impressed.
Very good quality and price for seafood! Amazing and super friendly staff as well, lots of local there

Delicious cazuela de pescado y camarones! Gets crowded around 1 pm. Friendly service. I would love to come back!
Excellent product and great service !!!
For me this is the best seafood restaurant in medellin! The taste is unique and service is always the best.. in your birthday they give you a free cake to share with your friends or family and they sing a funny song but makes you feel you happy and wish you the best. Prices are comfortable because the dishes are extremely delicious!!

Lo exuisito del Mar is a family business with 22 years old tradition. Restaurant is decorated with beutiful sea-related theme. Its amazing and create unbelievable climate.Food itself is decent, tasty and rich. In menu you will find typical local food. There is no see nearby but the restaurant owners roots are from Northern Colombia and it helps to supply with excellent quality ingredients.Bravo fish es muy delicioso. Carousella del mar must be amazing. Good prices vs quality.Muchas gracias Diana para tus buen empresa!
Its far from fancy and lacks some finesse but very tasty food and everything seems fresh.
