Woodlands Dr, Greenvale VIC 3059, Australia, Sunbury
Living Legends - Association or organisation in Sunbury, Australia
Free park, you can see kangaroos and birds in their natural habitat. Special place with several trails for trekking. A little more signage and garbage cans are missing, because we found a lot of garbage thrown
Its okay, just a little cafe and a few rooms to walk through
Scenically beautiful & awesome viewing area....Fabulous customer service experience....Very welcoming staff....Very limited food options...
Just passing through on a walk through Woodlands Park. Better than walking along roads.
Lovely place great food lovely homestead and gardens and of course the horses
What an awesome initiative for retired race horses. You can tell how well cared for and loved these animals are by the whole staff at Living Legends. Highly recommend any visit but especially the private guided tour. All staff very friendly and accommodating and the horse interaction experience is amazing.
Nice place , lots of roos
Lovely place where you can walk for hours. You will also see a lot of kangaroos. Prepare your camera for great pictures!
Its great that the champions have somewhere to retire to. Sadly the weather wasnt in our favour but the scones are awesome.
This place is incredible and the horses are gorgeous. Went here to visit the one and only Apache cat and having thoroughbreds myself, I can vouch that these horses are living the dream. Staff were so lovely also. 11/10
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff for the guided tour. Horses are beautiful. What surprises us was a herd of wild kangaroos jumping nearby as well!
Great fun being able to walk around and pat the horses .The cafe was understaffed and super slow but overall a great place to come with the family.
Amazing hot chocolate and views. Time well spent, along with a good view of all the planes going by

Hi Danielle & TeamI want to take this opportunity to say thank you for such a beautiful experience at Living Legends. My daughter’s 1st birthday was beautiful. The set up of the room was done perfectly. The food tasted delicious and there was plenty of food to go around along with all drinks etc.It was everything I asked for and more, our guests enjoyed the food and loved the venue.A special thank you to Judi who did an amazing job catering and helping out at our function.
Love it- nice non for profit cafe. Wish they would do a deal if you spend enough at the cafe they will give u free entry to horses or better pricing on entry. Best scones and this place saved me during covid time
Its a beautiful place. Very interesting and very beautiful animals! Toilets coffee and food is here. U can have a walk or just chill and see the Nature in real.
Every horse lovers dream day out, but dont get me wrong even if you arent a horse rider youll love this place the morning tea (sconeswere amazing and our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. Such an awesome day out. They also have other food, so you could go have a bite for lunch. A must day out
We really enjoyed the gardens and the cafe food was good. However the grounds and toilet facilities did not meet the advertised description for disabled access. The grounds are said to be wheelchair accessible, but in fact are very uneven with lots of holes and drains making it extremely difficult for a wheelchair to be pushed around . The wheelchair accessible toilet is down a gravel pathway, with 2 steps a long it. The toilet itself has a grab rails so far away it is of no use. It maybe useful for people with mild mobility issues, but certainly not for those in a wheelchair. The house itself has a ramp up to the front entrance and verandah, however access to this ramp was blocked by the inappropriate placing of a fence Overall we were very disappointed with the facilities
Great place to go even with restrictions outdoor seating only, beautiful gardens and wow Devonshire Tea with scones incredible.
A beautiful reserve with some retired racing legends to visit. With the horses and the surrounding bush walks and a few kangaroos you would forget you are next to the airport.A great place for families to walk and dare say have a picnic after lockdown.
Beautiful place!!Horses, kangaroos, walking trails. A historical house and lovely garden to sit in and have a coffee and scones. Love to listen to the birds in this quiet and peaceful place. I like to go on weekdays, a lot quieter people wise.
A really great place to go with family and friends for picnics, walks, bike rides on the woodlands trail. The kids enjoyed meeting the pony and feeding the horses. Was amazing experience especially spending some quality time with the cheeky and smart horses. Really great staff members though short staffed. I will definitely visit the place a 3rd time. Highly recommended.
The horses are cute but they mostly dont come near the fence. The entry fees are higher, 16 bucks for adult or thereabouts. I get that horses are expensive to maintain but that is pretty steep when all that you do is wander past a couple paddocks with some dots in the distance with blankets on. One horse was friendly and came and ate grass.
Super convenient location, a farm a minute from the airport! Beautiful, peaceful, perfect way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon! Staff were friendly, scones work cream and jam were huge (and delicious! But there was a 20 minute wait which my parents and I didnt mind because we had such a wonderful view in the meantime! Lovely to see old homesteads getting the tourism they deserve, great way to learn some history and enjoy the scenery!
Beautiful place for parties and historical horse farmYou can see lots of kangaroos all around.Kids love it
What a great day out!! Recommend doing a guided tour - you get a knowledgeable guide, a bag of carrots, & some loving from the horses!! Also enjoyed a cuppa tea & biscuits in the historical homestead
A lovely place to visit, the kids loved it. Food quite good though the iced cookie didnt taste very nice. The scones, spinach roll and sausage roll were nice. The staff were helpful, and very apologetic about a wasp nest above an outdoor table.Lots of room for kids to run and play.
Pet Friendly On and off The lead In parts Great Walking trackswe Come Here all the Time its Free its Peaceful Well Maintained and now has Canteen were Can buy Food and Coffee And just enjoy the place Gardens and Horses Views of Tullamarine Airport Overall 10/10 for me .
Beautiful homestead and pretty gardens, enjoyed our Devonshire tea, missed out on hot food as we came after 3pm
This is a wonderful place. I have been there a number of times. The horses are gorgeous and I strongly recommend doing the tour as you get to feed the horses and the friendly tour guide knows so much about each horse 🐴. You dont have to be a racing enthusiast just an animal lover. I strongly recommend supporting the retired horses as they rely on public attendance to keep providing this essential service. ☺ also the homestead is interesting and the scones and cream are delicious 😋. The kangaroos and Australian birdlife add to the charm of a truly amazing experience. We will be back to see the horses soon.😍🐎❤👍💞💕
Visited on mountain bikes. Sensational setting, great scenery, fascinating history and an excellent cafe/staff.
Love this place! It’s for a great cause, and the scones at the café are amazing. It’s close to a nature reserve which is a great walk, and if you go near the creek by the entrance you can often see kangaroos like in my attached picture.
Very good place to spend a time with ur family, just behind of Melbourne international airport, lovely views, kangaroos, ...
Nice place for relaxing, walking ,see animals and spectacular views
Loved the horses. Loved the scones, jam & cream. Definitely recommend it. Dont take food to feed the horses. Only give them what the guide has prepared. They are ex Champion Race Horses & deserve respect.
Loved it beautiful, well cared for horses, lovely property
The self guided tour allowed us to roam around between paddocks and say hi to the horses. Not all we’re interested in coming up to us but those that did were friendly. They seem to be looked after well - wearing ‘sunglasses’ and white nosed horses having their noses covered, and quite large paddocks. An easygoing environment where you can have a picnic and/or get drinks from the cafe. Nice roses and flowers around the house. And a nature park surrounding the establishment. If you’re not super into horses and nature probably not great, but if you are, it’s a lovely (and cheapday out.
The scones with jam and cream are delicious and the portions are very generous. Very cosy inside when its raining outside. The horses have plenty of space to roam free and its amazing to see the kangaroos in the distance. Very close to the airport so you can see planes taking off in the distance.
What a fantastic space with historic building Victorian Settlement era. The staff are extremely helpful (even posed for my pictureI was after the #australianadventurepassport and they went and found it for me. Then went for a walk around the grounds which had a beautiful floral garden and paddocks that held some of Australia’s Racing Greats in the likes of Efficient, Apache Cat etc.
My favourite safe relaxing place...close to Melbourne... yet feels like some far away homestead! Staff are fantastic. ..and just THE BEST Devonshire Tea in Victoria! !! I take anyone visiting Melbourne. ..or just go for myself!
Great Devonshire tea. Saw some beautiful old race horses including Might and power. Nice walking from be there in woodlands park. Lots of kangaroos.
Ex racehorse park, woodlands walk to meet hundreds of kangaroos and Devonshire tea in the 17th century house which had been brought over from the UK piece by piece and reconstructed.
A wonderful place to visit whether for walking, seeing kangaroos, MTB, greeting retired champion race horses, visiting the historic homestead or relaxing with a Devonshire tea sitting on the verandah. Yum! Oh yes and plane spotting. Exciting and relaxing all at the same time!
Really THE place to see kangaroos! Just 6 minutes drive from the airport and you can arrange for a FREE pick up. Wild nature, and you would be surprised and pleasantly shocked to see not 1-10, but hundreds of kangaroos! The most important part: lovely charming hosts!Dont forget to have a proper English tea with freshly baked scones with cream and strawberries. The one we had were fresh from the oven, still warm. Absolutely lovely! The visit is free, but we left some donations as its the lovely experience you can get that has a touch of old wild Australia(Easily doable on long layover in Melbourne airport).A big thank you to the hosts from young couple from England/Canada
