Live Dim Sum House - Restaurant in Taunggyi, Myanmar
Live Dim Sum House in Taunggyi
Description
Privilege
Our favourite place for dim sums and grilled duck. The best grilled duck in Myanmar! Good service and reasonable prices. Highly recommended.
MoreAmazing and filling Dim Sum at a good price. We got the platters one night and were not disappointed so went back again and choose different items. Both turned out great. Definitely worth a visit if you want a pause from local cuisine!
MoreThe food is sooo good. We shared diffrent dumplings and all of them were amazing. They refilled our tea as well and the soup was really tasty and big. Great place.
MoreWhat a delicious restaurant and what helpful and friendly staff! We had 6 main dishes, one dessert and 4 softdrinks. Price was about 20000 Kjat. Worth every penny!
MoreBussy place, mainly tourists, but service was quick. I love the food, I recommend this restaurant.
MoreNice, environmentally friendly restaurant! I loved their tomato 🍅 salad and vegetarian 🌱 dumplings 🥟 (more vegetarian variations would be nice though!!!)
MoreAmazing dim sum! And not just for Burmese standards - they are amazing for any standards, and weve had some pretty good dim sum before! Definitely worth saving some space for the Fried Sesame Balls for desert - the 15 minute wait is 1000% worth it!
MoreOne of the best Dim-Sum we had - and we had many all around the globe. The chef made 10 years in the UAE and you feel the experience for creating excellent food with every bite. The menu is small but the quality of the used products seems to be just outstanding. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We definitely come again and look forward to enjoying those great bites again! Thank you!
MoreBest food I had in Myanmar. We ordered Pad Thai, tomato salad, vegiterian dim sum, and the best dish was the Satay chicken sticky rice ball! It was perfect.Amazing service and fair prices.
MoreGreat food and atmosphere! The prices are very decent. It gets in my opinion 4 stars and not 5 only because there weren’t many vegetarian dim sum options. But besides that, nice and friendly staff! Recommended!
MoreWe stayed in Nyaungshwe for 3 nights and had almost all of our meals at this place. The food was delicious and even though we tried a lot of different dishes, we cannot choose a favourite. Everything is fresh, balanced, tasty and most of all CLEAN! The place is really chilled and all members of staff are really nice and speak good english. The place was always busy but still food came out in time with staff apologising for any extra minute of wait. The service was way above what we have received during the rest of our stay in Myanmar and they also embrace a non-waste policy with wooden chopsticks, bamboo straws and water jugs. Best restaurant in Myanmar so far!
MoreHands down the best food we had in Myanmar. The stir fried noodles were fantastic and every dim sum dish we had was delicious. Plus the price was great - 4 pieces of dim sum for only 2000kyats!10/10 would recommend!
MoreWe ate the duck with pancakes (really good!!!And have a Frozen mint lemonade, also delicious.Excellent price and quality. Wew absolutely repeat :)
MoreThe tastes are fresh. Look at the steamed veg and u’ll see :)
Pretty good variety of Dim Sum in a nice and clean place owned by lovely people, we went twice in our short stay around the lake to try different ones, we highly recommend this restaurant if you want to take a dim sum break from your cury diet in Myanmar :)
MoreThe best dim sum I ever had, very nice service and good selection of dishes. This place deserves support not only because of fabulous food, but for their sustainability initiatives as well.
MoreCan’t put into words how I loved my experience here. Best dinner I’ve had in Myanmar. The food is delicious and the satay rice balls are heavenly. They even prepared some for us to takeaway. The staff is very cordial and cares for you.MUST GO
MoreWe had very good dumplings and dim sum here. I had a vegetarian dumpling which I absolutely loved. Drinks were also very good. The only improvement I would add is that upstairs there were a lot of bugs attracted to the lights we were sitting next to and that was unpleasant. The staff tried to help by shutting off the light which did help some.
MoreLoved the dumplings here and also the steamed mixed vegetables. It comes in a cute little box and it all tastes very natural like they dont put extra sugar to your juice what I like and they avoid plastic what is fantastic!
MoreCame here 3 times in my 3 days trip. The foods are delicious, but you need to wait for long time, even when there is no customer except you.
MoreReally enjoyed LDSH. The restaurant was very busy, which is always a good sign. The food still came out in good time. The dumplings, pan fried or steamed where excellent, and the duck was also delicious. Beers were cold and everything was reasonably priced. Excellent, friendly staff.
MoreVery delicious Dim Sum. Highly rated and for good reason. Staff are excellent, very attentive and helpful.Prices are good. (+5% tax as standard)1/2 duck with pancakes, hoisin sauce, cucumber, and onion was 8,000 and sensational.Fried Shanghai dumplings (2,000were good. The dumpling itself was well made, the filling a little too "meaty" for my liking. Having lived in Shanghai for 3 years Im a little spoilt for choice, but a great taste for someone who isnt so fussy.Likewise the "pork steamed dumplings" or Xiaolongbao (2,000were good but could have done with a little less meat inside to allow for more soup. For a place in the middle of Myanmar their standard is excellent. They are served in traditional style baskets and served with a variety of small sauces which is a nice touch. I would definitely return.
MoreMe and my family thought it was100%. We loved the food and thought that it was safe for meat the dumplings were also delish. We highly recommend it. It is great for family and kids. Duck is really good and is even better with a pancake wrap around. It has a sort of homey feel to it you can’t miss it!(you really must go!!!)😀😃😄😁😆
MoreAmazing food and lovely staff. Visited twice, had dim sum once (get the crispy onesand crispy duck the second time, which was amazing - as good as in Beijing. A whole duck for 15k, outrageously good. You have to go here.
MoreWe were 4 people and we tried most of the dim sums. They all come as four pieces per dish, so it is perfect to share for the whole table. They were absolutely delicious. Furthermore we had a plate of perfect vegetable tempura - carrots, broccoli, onions, bell peppers and more.
MoreThe food was delicious, we tried practically all dumplings on the menu and the roast duck, everything was amazing. We ordered a bottle of Myanmar wine and it was worst wine ever, but the owner was so caring and attentive, he didn’t put it on our bill and asked to share the experience so he could go to the winery with this. It was very nice!
MoreThe best place to eat in Inle Lake! We tried almost all kinds of dumplings and it was all delicious!! It was so good we ate here twice, and on the third time we arrived they were full so we could just imagine the good flavors...(;
MoreThe place is small and cosy, the menu is extensive counting a big variety of Asian food. Good relation price - quality. The only inconvenient I see is that they bring all the food at the same time.
MoreBest dim sum I had in a long time. Staff is very friendly, will come again for sure!
MoreGood dim sum and great prices. The chicken satay sticky rice balls were our favorites. The restaurant is very popular—there was a long wait on a Monday night. But they do not have sufficient wait staff to accommodate their popularity. There were only two servers taking orders, delivering food, and bussing for all the tables, which meant that the food sat waiting at the counter for too long and the service was unacceptably slow. It is probably better to go to this restaurant off meal hours.
MoreGreat selection of amazing dim sum, fantastic fried banana dessert and even though they had run out of duck when we arrived, the entire meal was stunning. Had about 8 small dishes for two people and spent less than 50sgd/30 euro
MoreThe perfect spot for dim sum! Weve been here twice, because the dumplings are pure bliss and very reasonably priced.
MoreWonderful dinner, Everything was fresh and tasty, reasonable price!! Staff was really nice also. Definitely highly recommend.
MoreFantastic restaurant! I grew up eating dim sum, and while this isnt traditional dim sum, its certainly delicious. We half duck, steamed dim sum platter, and steamed veggies. The duck was not too fatty, crispy skin, the dim sum very tasty, and the veggies fresh and not over cooked. The sauces added the perfect balance of sweet, salty, and spicy. They also had a promotion for fruit juice which were half off and buy one get one free mojitos. Prices were very reasonable for quality and amount of food. Great place.
MoreGreat food, great service and reasonably priced, with fresh juices or alcohol
The dim sum was great. So good in fact, we came back the next day again! We also enjoyed some cocktails - which were ok. Prices were reasonable too. Also offers some other Chinese dishes - the crispy duck looked great on our neighbors table too.
MoreGreat dim sum (especially the steamed ones). Even the style is amazing. Also the other dishes we tried were great.
MoreThe food prices are very good. 12 dumplings (5 different types), a pot of really good tea (ginger, lemon and honey), and 2 fried battered bananas with vanilla ice cream was 10,500 kyat.
MoreYou have to go here!! So tasty we ate here twice. Really delicious pork dumplings, fried rice, and Shanghai noodles. Ordered plenty for 2, plus a pot of tea and desert for only 15,000kyat.
MoreWow! Our favorite restaurant in Myanmar by far. We kept coming back and tasting more. I cannot believe that a small place in such a small village would never such great dim and duck. This is a must visit if youre around and its dirt cheap as well
MoreTasty dim sum for a good price, including reasonably priced wine (which weve found unusual in Myanmar so far). We had crispy duck dumplings, chicken wontons in Szechuan sauce, fried pork dumplings and steamed fish dumplings. Not necessarily the best dim sum Ive ever had but considering that it was really pretty tasty plus the price Id definitely recommend.
MoreDelicious dim sum! And its cheap, about 1500-2000 for a 4-piece dim sum dish.
With 16 years of working experience in a Chinese restaurant, the cook (a non-Chinese returned to his home to operate his own Chinese restaurant. The food taste good except slightly salty. Prices are reasonable.
MoreThis place is definitely over rated and over priced.I just ordered a combination of dim sum set for 4000kyats, it comes with 8 pieces of very tiny dim sum, each is about a US quarter size. I am surprised how they can make such small pieces. The dim sum is also not fresh, can not compare with any dim sum place I had in US. The dipping sauce is not the regular one for dim sum. With the cost of living in Myanmar, this $3 small set even higher than the dim sum price in US.My review is only based on dim sum, for the rest of menu, the price range is similar to other local places.
MoreNice Dim Sums. Place is crowded at peak hours. Staff was very friendly and quick.
MoreFantastic place serving authentic dim sums at a reasonable cost. Check it out if youre looking for an alternative to the usual noodles and rice dishes.
MoreService is good! Thai noodles is nice! Food price around 1500-3000k
Enjoyed the food here. The chicken rice with salted fish and the various Dim Sum dishes were great. Good if you are looking for something different from Burmese food. We had oil ur best meal here during our 6 day stay.
MoreHad the pork shumai and szechuan dumplings and while both werer good they were not spectacular. Their sauce options (sweet and spicyare neither really that good and plain old soy sauce is a better option.Service was really good.
MoreAs a Chinese person who has lived in both HK and Singapore, the dimsum here took me by surprise. The many reviews (both on Tripadvisor and herehave given excellent ratings, but once my partner and I ate there, we understood why the praise was well-deserved.We shared a Pad Thai, vegetable dumplings, and their selection of steamed dimsum. While the Pad Thai and the vegetable dumplings were lacking, we sensed their willingness to try and experiment with recipes. The steamed dimsum platter had har gao (prawn dumplings), fish dumplings, siewmai (minced meat dumpling with mushroom and water chestnut), and - my personal favourite - Shanghai steamed dumplings. All the dimsum are definitely homemade and I say that in the best way possible: it oozes freshness and delectability. The best part of the meal according to my partner was the Lychee Iced Tea, which was as tasty as it was refreshing.I recommend dropping by for a meal, there were definitely no regrets there. Just head there slightly before peak hours and youre good to go for a delicious mealtime!
