Beautiful grounds. Workers were preparing for winter so we didnt get to see everything but what we did was amazing!

This place is something to see. And to think Ludwig II lived here mostly alone. The guide tour indoors is really fast and you need to move more like a wind throu the rooms and you really don’t have time to look all the fantastic details (or in a bigger group to hear the guide), but you have more time to spend outdoor gardens.

Enjoyed the visit. Very nice interior! Unfortunately they closed the fountain and boxed up the statue for the winter when we arrived. Oct 21. No pics inside but still very ornate.

The finest of the three castles of Ludwig 2nd! While Herrenchiemsee is still a construction site, and Neuschwanstein is mythical, but nevertheless slightly like Disneyland with glass instead of gems, here everything is real: Gems are gems, gold is gold, fine porcelain is porcelain. Its a small, but noble beauty. The park is likewise: Not very big, but very beautiful. Parking is comparably cheap: 3€ for a whole day.

Very small castle with only 4 main rooms. Each of the rooms is incredibly ornate. Fountain on the hour and half hour 90 feet high with natural pressure. Worth seeing.

Lucky to have visited Schloss Linderhof whilst away on a wellness trip in Reutte. I believe the castle is one of the best and well preserved around and although, its underestimated, it has an amazing theatre which was built by Ludwig II. The scenery is amazing and it has a great path for a hike with access to varieties of culture like the Morrocan and Mauritian huts. Its an absolute masterpiece of engineering and construction and I had the pleasure of touring the castle and its environment even in the rain without issues.Such an amazing experience and I would rate it 5 stars.

Amazing palace with a beautiful garden and a wonderful setting with the mountains in the backdrop. It really is a very relaxing scene with plenty of things to see and explore. It’s really nice to see how well it was preserved and being taken of.It’s very reasonably priced. Parking is about €3 and admission to the palace and hunting hut is €10.Really cool place to check out.

This is the most beautiful palace Ive seen in Germany tbh. The tour was a little bit overpriced considering the tour lasts 20 minutes, and you are not allowed to take a single picture inside, but it is definitely worth it.The marrakesh house was beautiful tooPitty the "venus grote" was closed, and will continue be till 2024.

We did an English tour of the palace and it was nice. You tour a few beautiful rooms full of gold, a massive bed, and some beautiful art and antiques, and the whole tour is about 25 minutes. No pictures allowed, but dogs are allowed inside if they’re carried. The grounds are lovely. The gift shop has good variety and there’s a cafe. Parking cost 3€. I would recommend coming early to beat the crowds and book your tour online.

Beautiful small castle! Really good if you dont have time to spend a whole day there, as it is pretty small. They kept it up well and the garden is really nice too. The guided tour inside is only 20 minutes. No photos on the inside.

The house that King Ludwig II built is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. Taking advantage of the 25-minute inside tour. Then come outside and check out these lovely grounds. The fountain has been running for over 130 years and has not been altered at all. It runs every half hour. The 19th century was well ahead of its time in terms of modern technology.

Probably the favourite of three most famous castles of Ludwig II. This castle is the smallest of the three, nevertheless its fully completed and exquisitly decorated. Guided tours are brief and informative. No big crowds. The best thing is the surrounding setting in the park between mountains. Devote a good hour to explore the park and its buildings. Most of the renovation work appeared to be finished.

One of our favorite palaces to visit and the one where Ludwig II lived the most time. Massive fountain... just wait for the timed display. The best part was that nearly the whole Palace is available to tour (most others tour a very limited portion). The palace is in excellent shape, as are the gardens and fountains. Also much easier to get in to the tour than some other.

Huge palace with dozens of not hundreds of ornately decorated rooms. Nice free audio tour. The place is a typical stately home and had very little by way of museum exhibits. One amazing room full of original and replica busts of Roman emperors etc, the highlight of our tour. After an hour we were looking for the quickest exit, but a pleasant hour

One of our favourite parts of the entire trip. We came here as part of a day trip to both of Ludwigs II castles and were blown away by Linderhof after having no idea what to expect as we were mainly going for the much more famous Neuschwanstein. The tour was incredible with our guide giving us so much information while being incredibly entertaining. The castle inside and grounds are also stunning and I was in complete awe. If in Munich again, I will definitely be back. I do recommend doing it with a tour company, we went with Gray Liner. The cafe here was also really nice and reasonably priced.

Small palace with a splendid view. Only went outside to check the garden. We were lucky to be there when the fountain was active as it seems to only happen hourly, but I could be corrected. Interesting that the power to the castle is generated by hydro just behind the castle, which there is a small info room outside which showcases it. Gardens was amazing. Would recommend.

This is a great little place tucked away in the woods. Take the guided tour inside and notice the delicate details throughout. The decor is comparable to Versailles but on a smaller scale. It’s beautiful! Be sure to step up to look into the never ending view through the mirrors in the hall of mirrors. The kings bedroom is beautifully adorned with frescoes, marble and tapestries. Notice the dining hall table. The staff would set the table for the king’s meal in the room below and then raise the table to the dining hall which allowed the king to avoid contact with the servants. The park and gardens surrounding the palace were beautiful. The fountain operates every 30 minutes and is worth seeing.

👑 King Ludwig (LouisII dedicated this palace to the the French king Louis XIV which he associates as the sun king throughout this entire palace whos decor is inspired by Versailles and its extravagance. The palace tour does a good job of explaining the various rooms and items within each room, including intriguing details like the mechanically elevated dining table. The extravagance inside this palace is simply stunning. This property is not just the palace, be sure to grab a map of the grounds and walk the distance to view the hunting lodge, Moroccan house, etc.

My opinion is that this castle is an underestimated jewel!A lot better than all the castles around.Very well build it with different gadgets and hidden mechanisms. It’s an absolute masterpiece of engineering and construction!Gardens itself has also a lot interesting and remarkable parts. When we arrived I thought it will be one hour not more. When we look into watches it was already passed 3,5h! And we feel really not bored or even tired. My favourite castle around definitely!I’ll totally recommend it to all you around, don’t miss a chance to see that gem!

Wonderful place, with a sort of magic all around. Really my favorite among the fairy king castles. Rooms and furniture are the most beautiful I have ever seen. The guided tour was amazing, full of details and interesting stories about Ludwig II. I really felt the connection with the king and his talents and passions.

Such a Beautiful place. In summer the palace looks spectacular. From April to October you can take a visit inside the Castle and the tickets are only 10 euro per person. It’s amazing inside the king residence. There are very good English speaking tour guides who can explain very nicely to the non-german speaker visitors. The whole palace area is so peaceful and well maintained. You can just sit and relax under a tree. It’s also looks beautiful in winter specially with snow. But I would recommend you to visit is summer. It looks more lively in Summer.

The grounds surrounding the palace are gorgeous. Plenty of fountains, a lake, hiking trails, gardens etc.Entrance to the park surrounding the palace is free so at a cost of 3 euro for parking you get a great deal.Visiting the interior of the palace can only be done via a guided tour so its worth buying a ticket when entering the compound and walk around the park until the time of the tour arrives. Its nice and worth the price but not a must have.

A 🏰 castle of King Ludwig II. Magnificent park with grotto and Moroccan house.Ettal Abbey and Oberammergau are nearby.Immerse yourself for short moments in the life of a lonely and extraordinary man with great utopias, who left us with monumental things! Be amazed, hold your breath for big and small eyes. A place that has not lost its magic to this day.

The whole Schloss Linderhof compound was a lot of fun to walk around and pretty easy with a toddler. We didnt tour inside of the palace due to not getting tickets ahead of time, but we still enjoyed our time here. Even without going inside, the trip was well worth it.

Visited during winter. Nothing much can be seen as most of the place is closed and covered in snow. Got a tour into the Palace, inside was absolutely stunning. The declaration and the material used. It is a good tour to learn about the history of the place. I will definitely come back to visit during summer time.

So I was a bit let down at first. When you see the palace from the outside you’ll see it’s not very big. And you wonder why it’s even called a palace. The first room you walk into is definitely beautiful, but still not as extravagant as I expected. Then you get up stairs and it blows your mind. Definitely a decor to impress. It’s a light walk up from the ticket office. They will not let you take pictures inside. Still it’s breath taking, but a very short tour. Maybe 30 minutes max

Even though we weren’t inside the little palace, the outside was nice. Unfortunately a few of the statues were being renovated and there was no water in the small pond because they were preparing for the winter. It wasn’t a really long Walk but I guess it depends on what you are expecting. The view of the mountains was beautiful.

Extremely beautiful palace. I learned so much about the history of Linderhof. They were starting to cover the garden statues for the winter, so we missed some of the sights. Well try to get there during the summer next time. The Grotto is shut down for a few years for renovation, so we also missed that too.Its still a great place to visit.
