366 Harbour Dr, Coffs Harbour NSW 2450, Australia, Coffs Harbour
Classic meals in a simple room with exposed brick, a colourful mural and sombreros on the walls.
Personally, disappointing, found the food too bland. I guess my fave Mexican restaurant back home has set the bar too high!
Wow what a great place with wonderful food and amazing cocktails. Our waitress Hayley was so accommodating and helpful. She even helped with local knowledge of the area and a great sense of humour.Well be back!
Best Mexican Ive had in a long timeStaff were so happy to customise the dish to suit food intolerances.Very friendly staff, delicious food and well priced
We arrived into Coffs Harbour between lunch and dinner time and saw this was listed as open on Google. We got to Lime and the door was open, but no staff to be found so we werent sure that they were serving. We hung around the front for 5 minutes hoping to see someone come by that we could ask. When someone did come by she didnt greet me. I asked politely if they were open, she rolled her eyes at me and rudely replied "well, yeah..." We were keen for a Mexican feed until that encounter. We walked out and went to a bar down the street who were more than happy to help us. Over the 4 days we were in town we didnt go back to Lime based on this first impression. We did however give repeat business to the other establishment. Service and first impressions make a big difference!
Great food and cocktails. Friendly staff made it a great time. Looking forward to coming back.
Truely amazing! Great atmosphere if you feeling in a casual mood. Pulled Pork tacos where amazing with the pineapple salsa. Great service!Looking forward to returning.
Dropped in for a quick bite - first time I have dined thereBeyond our expectations.. service was prompt our food arrived within fifteen minutes and it was delicious.Plentiful fresh .. will definitely be going back
Very poor, and I would not bother going back againThe staff seem very unorganised and did not even know the table numbers. My friend got her main and had finished half before I even got my entree. We were not alone as we saw staff walking around with food, trying to find the right table to deliver it tooThe food was okay, but what I would describe as Mexican light. it had very little flavour and no spice and would be perfect for children and beginners. We also ordered a jug of red sangria, which I would describe as orange juice with a tiny amount of red wine and no alcohol.I was asked what I thought of the meal as I was paying the bill and described the food as bland and complained about the lack of alcohol in the sangriaThe staff member was not interested and did not care about my experience .After Covid and lockdowns, going out for dinner is something I value and to have this experience is very disappointing.
I was a bit hesitant to order here due to the 3.9 rating but I needed to find a gluten free option close by. I think some people have been harsh with their reviews because I was very impressed. I ordered the gluten free chicken tacos and a side corn. Everything was fresh, presented beautifully, and everything was cooked and prepared to perfection. I was left wanting more (not due to hunger - the portions were great!but because it all tasted so yummy. I will definitely be back. Thank you 😊
Had a PinaColada, some beef nachos to share and some pulled pork and fried chicken tacos. All delicious, and quick service.
Mid week dinner with my partner. Fantastic service and food. Kate served us and was very professional. Thanks guys!
I went here with my family for a anniversary dinner hoping for a lovely meal with family but the service was dreadful, it took up of 30 minutes for a server to even greet us. When the manager was asked for she was snarky and rude and would not cooperate with us. Overall a terrible experience, will not be returning and I shall recommend to others to do the same. Very dissatisfied.
After a lovely meal here I had one small complaint that was an easy fix. After bringing it up with one of the managers, Kate. I was met with a disgusting attitude which escalated to her raising her voice at me. I cannot imagine what her employees have to deal with if this is the way customers are treated.
I was so excited to be able to enjoy some lovely Mexican food on a night out with my Husband (which we haven’t been able to do in YEARSbut this turned out to be one of the worst experiences of my life. I was diagnosed with Coeliac Disease almost 6 Years ago now. I had heard some people say that Lime Mexican was phenomenal with GF and for being Coeliac friendly, but it turns out the Coffs Harbour store is ready to lie and put their customers at risk. After asking our waiter if it was definitely Coeliac safe, and he wasn’t sure and went to get his manager - Kate. Kate assured me that it is 100% Coeliac safe. I was pretty excited when she said that and I ordered my food. When it came I dug in and ate everything! It was really good, but only about 5 minutes after I finished did I realise I was lied to. I started breaking out in hives and became very lightheaded, and I ended up vomiting in the restroom for 30 minutes. I felt betrayed. When I went to talk to Kate again, she simply blamed me for having Coeliac in the first place! I tried to be calm and explain to her how it works but she wasn’t having it, I was greeted with a disgusting attitude and her yelling at me and saying it was my own fault. It is completely unacceptable that she put a paying customers health at risk and then refused to take the blame or hear things out. I cannot imagine what her employees have to deal with if this is the way customers are treated.
I had a wonderful evening all until I had an interaction with the manager kate, I simply asked for a glass of water and she proceeded to exclaim that she wasnt my slave and then slammed a glass on the table. I calmly asked for the manager and then I found out she was the manager (kate). I couldnt even bother to ask for a refund while she was screaming at me. Imagine how she treats her staff if she treated me this way. Very disappointed in her, the service from other staff were amazing. But overall very upset with the service I recived from kate, someone like her shouldnt be in customer service.
Great food, friendly staff and fun atmosphere! Probably over ate but what can you do when the food is so good! 😆😆 Looking forward to coming again next time were in Coffs
Went here 7 years ago and it was amazing then went again recently not sure if management has changed but the service was extremely average the staff seemed more interested in having fun doing shots with their friends then serving customers. I would have probably spent a few hundred more if we got decent table service. One staff member was exceptional however the rest were extremely mediocre as far as the food goes it was not to bad but the service let the whole experience down.
Travelling through, nearly gave this place a miss based on some reviews.Came in on a monday night. Had the prawn chimichangas, corn, pork nachos and chicken fajitas. To say that this place is a 3.9 star at the time of this review is CRIMINAL.Fun staff, great food, decent portions, dynamite cocktails."Has to be one of the best mexican places Ive been to." -One very beautiful and very stuffed life partner.
The food was delicious, served fast and reasonably priced. However, it’s probably the dirtiest restaurant I’ve ever been. I had to ask for the table and chairs to be wiped and to replace the dirty dishes. The restaurant is well decorated but floor was filthy and I was the first client there for lunch. Every wall and surface was dirty. The attendant was polite but it felt like she was not keen to be there, not one smile or enthusiasm.Food - 4 starsRestaurant - 0 starsCustomer service - 2 stars
They forgot an item and the only solution offered was for us to drive back in and let our existing order go cold. Couldn’t do a refund over phone in 2022. Poor service. Food was good however, but more expensive than Bondi & not as good.
Where do I Start, seating issues even though they were not busy, half the food menu not available, half the drink menu not available.advertised free turros on a Wednesday, but then apparently not in school holidays stuffed up grand ma mas drink. Drinks came out after mains and the 1st main came out 30 minutes before the Last..... The food was ok but overall it was an epic fail and very disappointed
Great food. Recommend that either serving size is marginally reduced or the menu is a bit clearer as to how many servings (= for how many peopleis being provided as we were a little embarrassed as to how much we couldnt get through.
My partner and I were on holidays and were looking for a great Mexican place to dine at, i’m happy to say that this is the best Mexican we have ever had, (we are very picky eaters). If you are not planning to go there I would highly recommend that you change that.
Worst meal I have ever had. There were chili’s in everything. Even the guacamole. You need toLearn what next can food is, because this wasn’t Mexican food. Service was so bad too. Guam and chips came after the food, which my husbands came 20 minutes before my dinner. So disappointing.
Great Food, met a staff member named Jake. Really nice guy, great communication with customers and very helpful. I recommend eating here.
Great place for mexican on the mid north coast. May be difficult at time to get a seat during the opening hours so a little planning head can help if the weather is good.
The service was fantastic, was always offered more drinks as needed (and the tequila and classic cocktails were fantastic), food was served promptly. We had the Chicken Nachos, Pulled Pork Tacos and Popcorn Chicken. All the servings were big. Had a great night
Did I just pay $22 for a cheese toasty with 4 bits of chorizo? The quesadilla, was underwhelming. Didnt even come with a dab of guacamole or hot sauce.Heard the customers on the table next to me:Customer: Do you have hot sauce,Waitress: no sorry, we dont.Moment of silence. She comes back with something a that apparently wasnt hot sauce, just a salsa.Toilet is so good a couple disappeared into it together for 10 or so mins.Cocktails looked awesome, if only i wasnt driving.Summary:Date night venue- definitelyGreat value for money- nope.BYO hot sauce!!!
Happy to wait if a restaurant is busy, but its how the staff deal with customers made to wait an hour for food that reveals a lot about an establishment. We were seated, finally ordered after a short delay...then, nothing. We twice had to attract staff, to get water and drinks. The table of three next to us were not as patient; they ordered before us, had not received their meal when we got ours, and left without eating. When the food did come, it was poor. The Chicken Quesadilla ($22was little more than a toastie, no better than youd get from a foodcourt cafe. The Gourmet Pork Nachos (incredibly, $33was terrible - a very small amount of tepid meat, buried in corn chips soaked in tinned pineapple pieces.
Where do I start? Customer service was partly the only saving grace for this restaurant or so I thought...2 person seating. Instantly blown away by how extremely over priced this place was. We are both from the Gold Coast where everything is expensive... but high prices normally match high quality; not in this case! Cocktails watered down standard drinks at best. Throw in a splash of fruit and olè you have yourself a cocktail. Just for reference a nachos here is $35. I ordered a side of corn which was $9 for a frozen Coles bought heated quarter cob with a sprinkle of paprika and some fancy garnish one wouldnt desire to eat.Flavoursome? Absolutely not. This was severely average at best, and best left for a fast food outlet at a Westfield food court. The floor lining the majority of restaurant bounced like we were seated on a trampoline, the heavy footed staff amongst customers provided an experience similiar to man kinds first steps on the moon.Seating close to the service desk and at just the right height for elbows. Those that had subjected themselves to eating this flavourless, ridiculously overpriced Australian rendition of Mexican cuisine felt it appropriate to store their own personal possessions and elbows on our table whilst we continued to endure our meal.Until this point the customer service was surviving... then when asked the standard "How was everything?" My response was simple, "Severely overpriced and the food highly average!" A chuckle from the waitress ensued, "hahaha!"And that was the end of Lime Mexican forever in our hearts, minds, and stomach. 🤮
NEVER AGAIN! Disgusting customer service. My daughter who has just turned 18 was excited to try cocktails, walked in, all staff were on their phones, one was even laying down on the cushions, so she thought she would go to the bathroom to wash her hands before sitting down as no one was even acknowledging her, she is still quite shy at going out for drinks & food so when she came out the toilet the manager approached her and told her “you know we’re not a public rest room” my daughter replied “ I know I am about to sit down and order” to which this manager said “ next time ask, you don’t just walk through an empty restaurant ” .which doesn’t make sense. So I called the shop make a complaint and this lady named Kate, (apparently a manger was so aggressive and did not try to apologise, instead she told me that I should teach my daughter some manners. The owner really needs to think about rehiring as this is not the first time I have heard this about the staff which is unfortunate as I did always enjoy the food even though it was more money, shame really as they have lost my business forever. There was no need for her to be so rude and to assume my daughter was not a paying customer. My daughter felt so awkward & uncomfortable to order that she walked out.
Booked and went for an anniversary dinner 3 tables arrived after us and served 1st ordered lamb tacos and prawn chimicungas, the lamb tacos. The tacos took 55mins to be served, and they didn’t put the mint salsa on, the lamb is pre cooked so why it took long to put a bit of lamb and sauce on some taco bread! The Chimichungas did not come out for another 20 minutes (after I had to ask when they were clearing our tablewhen we finally got them they were delicious. In the 2 hours we were there not once were we asked how things were, offered another drink. This is the 1st negative review I have ever posted and when raised at the checkout they didn’t care, we are local’s and won’t be back
Loved the food. Their veg pizza was delicious. Never ever I have had such a nice veg pizza before. Nachos are famous here but its quantity is huge. A bit on the pricy side but offers bigger quantity to counter.
Best Mexican food weve had. The chicken nachos was the standout dish. We also had the fish tacos, southern fried chicken tacos, and chicken quesadilla. The cocktail jug was also incredibly well priced. Highly recommend
We loved the food and also like the presentation. We ordered Tacos, Calamaris and Quesedia. They tasted good but the price was a lot. I would perhaps attribute this to Covid recovery and inflation.
Lovely Mexican food and I appreciated that they were flexible with creating vegan options 🌱
Tasty cocktails and tacos. A bit of a stuff up with our food with everyone being given gluten free tacos that werent even heated but the manager or owner sorted the situation out immediately, fixing up the food order and offering a complimentary cocktail. Really impressed by how everything was handled and food and drinks were tasty in the end. Thank you, will return again.
A funky restaurant, very welcoming, good vibes. Food was bit expensive for size portions. I ordered the Mexican pizza, I think this dish is value for money. Very fresh ingredients. The bar had a very large selection of alcohol. Customer service was very good.
We went on $4 Taco Thursdays. The lamb one was a bit tough, I like the beef/steak and the fish taco the best. Cocktails were refreshing. Service was good but at times a bit slow when we ordered extra food
We ordered 4 fish tacos and 2 happy hour margaritas. First, Our tacos were delivered to the wrong table which was quite obvious as there were only 3 other people dining there at the time. This ended up causing the tacos to take twice as long to arrive as they needed to be made again. We asked for hot sauce when the tacos came out and after 5-10 minutes of waiting, it didn’t come so we had to get up and ask not only 1 but 2 other staff members before finally receiving it after another 5 minutes. We ordered the happy hour margaritas at 4 and we thought they had forgot about our order because it took 15 minutes to make them. Keep in mind there are only 3 other people currently eating/drinking at the restaurant and approximately 6 people on staff working. 2 of the staff members during this time took a smoke break and were smoking cigarettes right in front of the restaurant on the sidewalk in uniform. I know we’re not talking about a doctors office here, but even for the service industry this looks very unprofessional. Finally, when we were finished I had to go inside to pay as our waitress hadn’t been back for some time to check on us/bring us the bill/bring another drink. I asked the girl up front for the bill and instead of giving me one she just handed me the debit machine with the amount on it asking me to tap my card. This is when I realized that we were overcharged by 5 dollars. Our bill should have come to $44 ($24 for tacos and $10 for each happy hour margarita), unless we were charged $5 for hot sauce which seems ridiculous to me. It would have been nice to see the bill with a breakdown of the charges like I had asked for.I never complain about poor restaurant service but this was a particularly poor experience that we had. I didn’t want to leave a bad review online so instead I sent the restaurant an email and a message directly on their website but never even got a reply.Worst service ever.Definitely would not recommend.
The staff here were so accommodating!! The food was absolutely amazing, I am so impressed. They were so busy and still made time to make us feel welcome. Would definitely recommend, the drinks were amazing, so thank you to the bar staff! The service was great, couldn’t of been happier, thank you to all of the lime Mexican staff for making our night amazing.
Food was very delicious and flavourful. The person at the front desk gave me a feeling that he was not interested to get us seated and about our experience. However, the lady while paying the bill did ask how the food was and interested to get some feedback. The nachos and tacos were good.
Wow! The absolute freshest, tastiest Mexican food guaranteed. The Classic Margarita was perfect as was the sangria. We had the Jalapeño poppers…best I’ve ever had. Also had chimichangas, garlic prawn quesadilla, southern fried chicken tacos and fish tacos. Everything was delicious. We dined outside as it was a lovely evening weather wise and the waitresses were very lovely. Definitely would love to go back to this restaurant, well worth every Penny!
Booked on their website a table for 4 on a busy Saturday night. Got seated quickly and food came out very fast given the amount of other customers there. The waitress was very friendly and attentive to our needs and questions.Food quality and presentation was to notch.Highly recommended.
The best Mexican food I’ve ever tasted. We had the prawns chimichanga, gourmet chicken nachos and garlic prawn quesadillas. The chimichanga was fresh and paired very well with the salsa. The gourmet nachos with pulled chicken and guacamole were heavenly. It was a shared portion and there was more than enough for 2 of us. The quesadillas were piping hot and were my favourite of the three. Ambience was lively and service was top notch!
Awesome vegan optionsI eat here quite a lot and they are happy to make vegan alternatives to some dishes (I understand it cant be to all)Tried their new lunch menu today with the Veggie Burrito, made vegan, and it was so delicious! The chef added their homemade cashew cream to it, because they know I love it, and wish I could buy it separately! For other plant-based customers like me they also do these meals vegan:Nachos, Smokey corn, Mexican salad and fajitas.
The service here is amazing and very accommodating and friendly. The food is extremely overpriced for very small serving sizes. The food tastes fresh and nice. There arent many vegetarian or vegan options (if any at all). The drinks are very nice and well made.Overall a decent experience here.
I love the restaurants in this area in general. Its a bustling range of shop fronts that never disappoint in service or energy. Lime Mexican tapas was no different. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, a clean front of house and great food. You cant go wrong. We had the beef nachos with guacamole and Jalapeños on the side. It was possibly one of the best nachos Ive tasted in a long while. It had complex flavour interactions and wasnt too oily. Not too mention plenty of sour cream to dip every chip.Ill be back again! ❤️
On our way to Noosa, we stopped over in Coffs Harbour only to be surprised by the yummy Mexican food available at Lime Mexican Tapas. The prawn chimichangas are delicious and are the perfect compliment to a bucket of Sol beer on happy hour.
Service is super fast and friendly. The dishes are prepared with excellent balance of flavours. The grilled Atlantic salmon and Prawn Chimichanga(especially the dip that comes with itare marvellous.
