Liman Restaurant in Gitega

Delicious food! We are still talking about this restaurant weeks after the experience! Fabulous service. Worth the two hour drive just to get there (lucky folks live nearby!). Will go again and highly rated/recommend.

I did not actually go here myself, so I really cant - in all honestly - give it five stars. (Tho, it may deserve a 5, by all accounts.)But... I booked a table for my friends (which turned out to be necessary on Friday night, when this place was packed, as most restaurants in Angel Islington), who reported that the Turkish / Mediterranean food was pretty darn good, and arrived promptly (which was important, as the theatre followed!- though some of the waiter staff struggled with English, a wee tad - and, it wasnt too expensive, either (for this area of London, which is on the pricier side).Ill update this review if/ when I go there myself. 🍽️ 🤠

Delicate and wonderful kitchen .From the starters to the desserts it was a delightful dinner. The atmosphere is wonderful. For sure I will be back again in my next travel to London

Food was lovely however the meats are no longer halal. Another customer saw us and told us that they had changed the supplier a few months back and the meats are no longer halal. We didnt think to ask as weve been there before several times. Its rather disappointing as I wouldve expected to have been told as we walked in but this didnt happen.Please be mindful of this if you do have halal dietary requirements.Nevertheless we opted for seafood and vegetarian options, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is a very good Turkish restaurant with great food and lovely staff. It goes beyond being a traditional restaurant all by keep the traditional tastes. I strongly recommend you to try it.... You will truly enjoy it.

Recently visited Liman for a family dinner, the food tasted amazing as well as fresh and we felt as though there were many options on the menu. We ordered adana, calamari ,falafel and many more tasty foods which we very much enjoyed.

We went to the Liman yesterday they were busy. Our waitress ela was lovely, attentive, and absolute credit to the restaurant. Nothing was too much trouble. Well priced wine, a very pleasing bill and superb service. Food was absolutely delicious, authentic and fresh. We will come again

Ellif our server was fantastic! She was very knowledgeable of the menu and provided great recommendations. Don’t miss the calf’s liver or the sea bream!

Went here with my husband for my birthday, it was a great atmosphere! The best Mediterranean food I’ve ever had! Highly recommend! And have great cocktails!!!

One of the best pasta dishes I have had in my life. The kebab mixed grill was delicious. Very nice environment too, and the service is top notch. I highly recommend this restaurant!

By far, our favourite restaurant. We’ve been more than 5 times already on different occasions over the last 2 years, and always extremely tasty food, great service and perfect ambience. We are “due” for another visit shortly, hopefully everything is as good as it was.

Great (& a lot of it!food. Reasonably priced. Friendly atmosphere. Very lively but can be quite noisy. And, if you get a table by the door to the toilets, you also get rather unpleasant smells.

Great Turkish restaurant with delicious food. The hummus and babaganoush came with toasted pita and our kebabs were tender and well roasted. Would definitely recommend coming here for a more intimate outing

High quality local Turkish restaurant, the cold starters were very fresh and well spiced, the lamb was cooked to perfection. Wine list includes delicious Chateau Musar from Lebanon.

Liman is one of the best Turkish restaurants I’ve experienced. Excellent quality and variety of food, fresh and cooked to perfection, with good portion sizes. The ambiance is good and the seating well distributed so you’re not on top of other guests. The restaurant is always clean and consistent. Service is ok and the maître D is reserved but in control. They are very accommodating with times, numbers and children. I have been here many times and am yet to find something on the menu that wasn’t pleasing. I’d highly recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially fans of Mediterranean cuisine.

Liman is a restaurant I will visit again and introduce new people to.The decor is calming, the music is chilled and the staff are pleasant. The food is tasty and the meat is succulent 👌Slight let down was that they never had chicken wings.Seating by the door can get cold but staff do try their best to keep it warm with the heating above the door.Either way I would visit again.

We came here because it had very good reviews but I have to say we were pretty disappointed. The food was nothing incredible but the price was very high - almost £20 per dish and for that you don’t get anything extraordinary. We ordered moussaka, chick shish with yogurt, lamb Beyti and Adana kebab. The best was chicken shish with yogurt. The other dishes were ok, moussaka a bit disappointing the sauce was not so great, too sour/tomatoey.Overall, would not recommend for the price and value.

Pictures i posted are not the best being honest, you should definitely try this amazing place. Food is delicious, served in a very awesome way. Service is friendly and professional. It was my first time there but i discovered fantastic new gem at the Angel. Highly recommended.

The Calamari and chicken wings are delicious, the chilli sauce is also very good. The rice is amazing, so is the chicken shish. The Lamb Beyti was the best dish I tried. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area and like Turkish/Mediterranean food.

What a fantastic dining experience! We visited the restaurant for our festive team lunch and we were all blown away. The hospitality is second to none, we were met and greeted by a lovely hostess who offered to take our coats and showed us our table which was perfectly set for our tasting menu. The service was impeccable from start to finish with strong attention to detail. The food was what one would expect from a high class restaurant, freshness, presentation, taste, temperature, choice of crockery etc. were all top class. And finally the personal approach from the team at Frescobaldi made it really special. Thank you liman

Mega place! I am biased because I am obsessed with Turkish food but we came here at a spur of the moment, we had an hour and 15 mins to eat as they managed to fit us in despite being fully booked. We wanted stuff we could share and we got a feast! It came out swiftly, it was sooooo tasty gosh, I felt like I had a full meal which is exactly what you want to feel. So satisfying and I cannot wait to come here again for a longer session. My favourite dishes were the pastries, the hummus and the aubergine dishes mmm.

Amazing Mediterranean restaurant - food beyond expectations, best grilled fish we’ve ever had in London (Sea Bream). Pricing to portion size ratio is excellent. Beware portions are big! Cosy atmosphere, overall great place and would highly recommend to everyone.

So glad I have this place right around the corner. Absolutely delicious, authentic and fresh Turkish food in a great atmosphere and helpful service. The whole staff is Turkish and happy to give recommendations - the aubergine dip, the vine leaves and the adana kebab were all great, and we got complimentary bread (freshly bakedto mop up all the sauces. Do NOT skip dessert - the baklava is everything you want it to be. Top marks!

Where do I start...Read amazing reviews about Liman online and was wondering if all the rave reviews were true.Excitedly my wife and I decided to drive 55mins and I must admit that we were blown away by quality of the food and also the quantity. The pictures I took does not do the food justice as that was my fault.I enjoyed the food so much I bought a takeaway after my meal.I have eaten all over the world and this is definitely my favourite place for price and quality. Even better that the quality in quality in Turkey.Look forward to my next visit.

One of our favourite restaurant. The food is so good and the portion size is generous too. Lamb chops and mixed grills are especially worth a try. The place is big and is hygienic. They even have few outdoor seatings which is a plus. Staff is friendly and service is also quick. Would definitely recommend this fabulous place to any one who is craving for a Turkish delights. A five star worth place.

Eat in! MUST VISIT. Open Post- covid. Heard so many good things about this place and managed to get a table tonight. Had 12 dishes between 4 of us (overkill, but glad we did). Every single dish was amazing! Honestly cannot pick a favourite, great family owned restaurant and great service. Visit now and support your local! Well be back soon!

Definitely the best Turkish restaurant Ive been to in London. Delicious grilled meats, soft warm bread and free dipping sauce. Service was great too, Ozzy and Elly were attentive and efficient, while the restaurant was really busy. Serving size was on the big side, I wished I could have tried other dishes.

Food was amazing, big portions, great presentation and very delicious. Comfy chairs, nice interior, service was outstanding as well. Definitely worth a visit!

This restaurant has a dedicated following of enthusiasts and comes highly recommended.On entry, the restaurant is well decorated and has a pleasant purple hue. One is greeted by friendly and efficient staff.I knew I was onto a good thing when the falafel starter arrived and was better than Pilpels (my baseline reference point for falafel). The main arrived and I havent eaten lamb this tender in quite a while and the rice that accompanied it was a revelation.What is even more of a revelation perhaps was the price we paid. A must visit.

Absolutely delicious food paired with amazing service and ambiance. The Lamb Kebab was perfectly medium rare and charred with amazing spices, and so tender. If you like liver, the starter is excellent.

Had the lunch set menu which was an extreme let down. The starter was bad quality as the borek was made with a thin spring roll pastry rather than a flaky filo pastry. It was served with the same generic ‘salad’ (more like lettuce leaves drenched in dressingas served with the main. The portions were quite measly even after considering the price. The staff were atrocious and definitely ruined the meal for us. They were rude, dismissive and even proceeded to speak about us in another language whilst staring and pointing. I’m extremely surprised that this restaurant has the reviews it does. I only rated Liman 2 stars instead of 1 because of the beautiful lamb shish, it was not over cooked and perfectly seasoned. Upon informing the waiter (he may have been the manager which is even worsethat we will not be paying the service charge for the bad service received he did not offer an apology or even care to ask what the issue was. Speaks volumes! Will not be returning.

This was a very good find. The staff were super friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and excellent. We literally loved everything we ordered- the food was just impeccable and the menu will satisfy meat eaters and vegetarians alike. Will definitely be visiting them again.P.S the restaurant does not accept AMEX.

Very cute little restaurant with lovely decoration. But I dont understand how come shish kebab only got 4 pieces of meat cubes. The portion is too small for a Turkish restaurant.

Friendly Kurdish family run restaurant walking distance from Angel station. If you havent made a reservation and placed on a waiting list they suggest you have a drink at the next door pub; they come and collect you when the table is ready. Open grill kitchen which allows you to see the grilling behind a glass screen.Starter mezzes are well sized served with hot bread with seeds on top. Olives ordered were seasoned.The mixed grill main for one was surpsingly tender and generously portioned. Enjoyed the Lamb Beyti with yogurt. Both these dishes make up two good sized main dishes to share for two persons.For pudding I decided to opt for the baklava which I was told was made in house; very well done. Also went for Kunefe which is shredded pastry dessert with a cheese filling; I have tried this at Lebanese restaurants before and very well done.On the whole an excellent small restaurant which will become a regular of mine. Although website says Turkish I was corrected by one of the staff that its not Turkish but Kurdish. Will make sure to reserve a table next time.!
