Lima in Ico
Description
Privilege
The tasting menu was incredible but many staff didnt know what they were serving or didnt take the time to explain the pairing. Overall it was a good experience, the head waiter was very knowledgeable and gave quality service.
MoreThe ambiance was great and the waiters were really friendly.Love every dishes we ordered - the ceviche was amazing, scallop was fresh and yummy, beef rib is so well cooked that it melts in your mouth, and the pork has great texture & great taste. The presentation of the dishes are really beautiful too, adding to the great dining experience.Definitely a feast for a great night out!
MoreAbsolutely delicious food and lovely, friendly staff. From start to finish the experience was world class. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone. Oh and the pisco sours are delicious too!
MoreI went back to Lima after a few months, and when I arrived I was impressed by the new decor, but even more by the quality of their new menu. They have added new dishes, which, quite frankly, are delicious! It’s an innovative cuisine, that has been taken to an even higher level. I would highly recommend it! Outstanding value for money
MoreExcellent birthday meal here! Especially loved the quinoto del Mar with so much wok hei; ceviche in tiger milk was super fresh and appetising; amazing cocktails including pisco sours and finally sensational desserts - the plantain dessert blew our minds. Would recommend!
MoreI have to say - I am in love with this new concept of Lima. I went 5 years ago and it was a bit stodgy. Now, it’s refreshingly open, inviting, and warm. Shout out to Carlos our server who was sooo friendly and patient with explaining everything! The food is not only gorgeous but truly truly tasty. Everything is great. Deffo get the pulpo. Deffo get the iberico. I am in love! Can’t wait for the full menu!
MoreDelicious meal here. Very good service, nice atmosphere and dishes were beautiful to look at, as well as full of flavour.
MoreReally terrific food. Highly recommended the tasting menu and wine pairing. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the food.
MoreI’ve had my first Peruvian experience here. Everything was so delicious. If it’s your first time here I would recommend to take tasting menu.
MoreVery delicious! I like it because of the multi taste in every dishes. It’s also well displayed and easily to get a nice photo. There is a little expensive about 60-70 pp but I think it’s worth it!
MoreGreat service. Great food. We had the tastings menu. Everything was so good. I especially liked the beef dish and the ceviche. You cant go wrong with this place.
MoreVisited here with my boyfriend for his birthday and received the BEST service. I honestly cant thank this restaurant enough for making the night so special. Francesco served us and was lovely and friendly, a credit to his team. The bartenders kept us topped up with delicious drinks and water throughout the night; Cosmin and Damien were lovely and created the perfect cocktails for us! These bartenders read us and served us the tastiest cocktails. Thank you so much, both. The FOOD! THANK YOU! We tried the ceviche was soft, and melted in the mouth.Overall, this restaurant is 12/10 and we will be back!
MoreDefinitely recommend. Were a table of 2 for a business lunch on a Wednesday, so the place was not packed. Head waiter Francesco has been an amazing and friendly host, yet utmostly professional. We took a starter and a main course each.Starters are absolutely recommended to taste different flavors, cooking styles and, overall, the chefs vision.Main courses are surely more "classics", with an European approach to a solid Peruvian heritage. All dishes were beautifully executed.Absolutely a place to try.
MoreVery nice food, fabulous staff!
My favourite Peruvian Restaurant where I get to experience great dishes which not only taste amazing but look beautiful too. Every detail goes into the presentation too. Prepared with Love and happiness.
MoreGreat food, great service and great decor - easy to see why Lima has a Michelin star. I particularly like that the food is light and flavourful instead of having a combination of a lot of strong flavours. Food is well presented and if you go for the set menu is certainly affordable.Would definitely recommend this place.
MoreReally inventive dishes beautifully presented. Found the wine menu slightly lacking but service was fast and friendly. Definitely recommend!!
MoreAn outstanding Peruvian restaurant that provides authentic quality, atmosphere and the perfect relaxed fine dining experience. The restaurant is five minutes from Tottenham Court Rd Station and is tucked away up Rathbone Place. The outside of the restaurant gives it a simple cafe or bistro appeal that feels welcome to all people. The staff are genuinely welcoming and hospitable. A particularly nice touch from our server, Carlos, was to explain the composition of all of our dishes and he also assisted with menu choices. The decor of the restaurant is simply elegant. This provides a comfortable feel for diners. The drinks are beautifully made and inviting. The food is delightful, fragrant and provides excitement to the senses. Each dish provides a talking point and photo opportunity. The Michelin star restaurant is a celebration of Peruvian cuisine and has a degree of affordability for most people.
MoreA potato party! This place is proud of their Peruvian potato diversity and absolutely celebrates it, and guess what, it tastes fantastic. Kudos to them. A tasting menu at £55 for six courses on a Saturday night. What more can you ask for? Easygoing, warm atmosphere with excellent pisco sours. We had the alfajores for dessert and it came with a algarrobina moouse -- that was heaven! If you dont know what algarrobina tastes like... Theres one way to find out!
MoreMy gf wanted an octopus so bad last night and we saw this restaurant has braised octopus so here we were... After we finished the tasting menu she said the best dish was not the octopus and thats how tasty their food was, I highly recommend the testing menu, all dishes were done perfectly and nice ambience.
MoreI went here for lunch. 3 courses for £25! AT A MICHELIN STAR!It was delicious, light and delicate.Service was average, not what you would hope for in a michelin. The restaurant was a bit cold and needed a bit more energy, it didn’t help when it wasn’t even half full!
MoreA very relaxed and cozy restaurant with nice food and professional staff. We had two ceviches as starter and cod and beef for main course. The desert was fantastic as well (so delicious I forgot to take photos!!). Deserved full 4 stars!
MoreVery welcoming and friendly service. The staff were helpful and attentive. The atmosphere was perfect for a date. We got tomato ceviche, salt baked celeriac and ollucos. All were fantastic. A balanced mix of flavours and textures. All carefully crafted and fresh.
MoreGreat Peruvian restaurant. The lunch set option is a perfect way to try what the restaurant has to offer. The restaurant is quite small and has a friendly atmosphere. I will definitely be back, maybe for some dinner this time. (4 stars as my overall experience was really good but I wouldn’t say I was blown away).
MoreGreat cocktails and lovely starter. However, the mains dished out as part of the lunch deal were either embarrassingly small or bland. I was tempted to return the fish, it was that small. I had to get pizza later to actually feel like I had a substantial meal. The dulche dessert lacked...dulche.Enjoyed parts of the meal but wouldnt be returning in a hurry.
MoreSimply amazing. The quality of the service is matched by the delicious Peruvian dishes on offer. The value for money here is unparalleled for a Michelin star restaurant. Give it a visit and you won’t be disappointed!
MoreI went for lunch, and I was immediately surprised by the place! The place is so refreshing and bright like the lifestyle in Aussie. However, my apologies for havent had Peruvian food before, so I cant really comment on it.Overall, worth it to give a go with the lunch set, explore the Peruvian cuisine- with their homemade bread!
MoreVery average Peruvian, at a relatively premium price. We ordered 3 types of ceviche which were all nicely presented, but relatively bland compared to the taste explosion ceviches we have had in other restaurants in London (eg, ceviche ;), and obviously what weve had in Central and South America. Frankly they werent even as good as the ceviche I have made at home!We ordered two fish dishes, one was ok, the other great, the one with the red sauce, dont remember what it was called though. The passion fruit nonalc cocktail was superb, and my wifes rose was great and relatively cheap.Service was very good.We wont eat here again, life is too short to have average ceviche for dinner.
MoreThe food is such an experience. Flavours, tastes, textures Id not come across before but still things I enjoyed. Each dish is an artwork. Staff were very friendly down to earth and great at explaining dishes.
MoreDidnt know what to expect from Lima, but was blown away by the tasty dishes. Service was speedy for a busy restaurant. We will come back with some friends to enjoy again soon.
MoreExceptional food, great service, phenomenal attention to detail and pisco sours. There is nothing not to love about Lima. I would have taken better photos but this is the kind of inviting food that youre half way through eating before you realise you want to remember it for ages and show your kids how pretty it was.
MoreI really enjoyed my experience at Lima!Im not an expert on Peruvian food and Ive never been in Peru myself, but all the dishes were interesting, spiced and well balanced. We order one plate from the "bites" section, two starters and two mains and a side. We were quite full at the end and paid around £95 inclusive of service charge. The staff was super nice and the service as excellent as the food. The main room was a bit noisy, especially compared to the tables on the lower ground floor, but it was still manageable. The tasting menu seems like a good value for money, well definitely come back and recommend the place to our friends.
MoreNice fancy Peruvian food, :a bit pricey but food and service is greatHad the tasting menu here. The restaurant was quite empty at noon. Really enjoyed the tostada, the squid, and the pina colata dessert. Very refined yet authentic Peruvian food. The only thing I didn’t enjoy that much was the sucking pig, the blue potato purée was not my favorite , but it’s okThe service and the ambient was great no complains there
MoreGood in Lima is pricy, on the other hand experience is just unbelievable! Totally worth it. Definitely try ‘pachamanka’ for main and chocolate mousse for dessert!
MoreHome box from Lima. The texture of the short ribs was so tender. The pistachio cheesecake is truly a surprise!
MoreAmazing flavours combine in to.some truly great dishes. Quite a relaxed unassuming place but the food does all of the talking .Great service and friendly staff. The waiter was great and knew details of every dish. Super helpful. The suckling pig was very tasty with blue mash although the steak may have topped it. The tomato ceviche starter was full of outstanding flavours. The Peruvian bread was good too.
MoreOverall the experience was good and the environment is quite relaxed, but the service was a little slow.I ordered from the a la carte menu and my friends ordered the limited edition 3-course menu for £20. The starters were amazing, the octopus tiradito and sea bream ceviche were great. I had the slow cooked pig for mains which I really enjoyed. My friends thought the beef bavette pachamanca was a bit chewy though. The food was presented really nicely and everything was generally good, but the limited edition menu might be more worth the price if you want to try out the menu.
MoreThis is coming from a Peruvian American so take this with a grain of salt. I also was only able to try this place and another Peruvian restaurant in London so I dont want to jump to any conclusions. Drinks here were too notch, one of the best pisco sours I have had outside of Peru. Also the desert was amazing, loved the lucuma ice cream with lucuma like donut, def highlight of the night. And I will say that I was pleased to see dishes on the menu that most other Peruvian restaurants wouldnt dream of adding--like the Carapulcra (they called it freeze dried clay pot potatoes, but its carapulcrawhich is typically considered "cheap" food aka peasant food. All around good but you can get just as good for a lower price point at other places, but again, not sure if in London, Im thinking of places in the United States, specifically in New England.
MoreThe Peru Experience is the way to go. They interpret classic Peruvian dishes their own way, using real Peruvian ingredients. The experience itself is amazing, if this is your first time going, the tasting menu is a must.
MoreWe’ve tried the set lunch menu and it was great!Quite generous portions for such a fancy place, especially the chicken.Flavourful dishes, although quite spicy. The only downside was that it was very cold in the restroom.
MoreLima used to be a Michelin 1 starred restaurant but is now a Michelin Guide restaurant. Still, the dishes are colourful and well-made.I have ordered the full testing “Peru experience” menu which comes with full explanation of the stories behind each dish. Lima has mixed cooking skills of Cantonese and Japanese style into its Peruvian cuisine. The Cantonese one is deliciouslySuccessful while the Japanese one is frankly so so.There might be a reason why it has been slightly downgraded to a Michelin Guide restaurant- comparing with other Michelin I have tried , there is a lack of “wow” in the dishes. Don’t get me wrong, their food is very well indeed and the service is impeccable and that’s why I gave Lima five stars. But to regain the precious one star, three needs tobe something more in the dishes.
MoreCosy restaurant serving fusion food. Ingredients were exotic but tend to be leaning to spicey hot. Servings were small so sharing in a group requires acute precision. Highly recommend the black cod dish, which was excellent. Dont be fooled by the size though as we all got pretty full after the main course. Its a tad pricey but you do get some unique dishes.
MoreWe really liked the restaurant and enjoyed our evening. Very kind stuff. The food was great. Great for sharing food to try as much as possible. They have high-chairs for kids. Recommended to book a table. Well come definitely again
MoreI found Lima to be over priced for what it is trying to be. If you are going to do small plates of food at an average cost of £10 & £20, they had better be amazing. However, most of the dishes we ordered were just fine. There was nothing in particular to say about the cassava chips, corn cake, octopus Olivo. The suckling pig was a bit dry and not the stand out we were expecting. The presentation and plating are outstanding and pretty but falls short in terms of taste and flavour. I would not come here again with so many restaurants serving up fantastic flavours that make your sense come alive.
MorePeruvian inspired beautiful cooking. Lovely tastes and flavours. The wine list was very good. My only negative feedback was considering it wasn’t really busy the service was quite poor and it felt like we had the waitress looking over our head a lot.
MoreWhen you like to discover food, you know those moments in life when you try something new...And when its in your mouth you just think: “Woow, I am loving this!“These moments I had at LIMA. The staff is helpful and friendly and know about the food and the idea of the chefs. The menu keeps changing on a regularly basis with new dishes and creations from the Chefs.
MoreReally nice Peruvian food, reasonably priced! Not sure if I’d consider it to be Michelin starbut we still loved our experience there and our meal didn’t cost as much as we thought it would. Would recommend the 2 or 3 course options as it’s real value for money. Staff were really warm and receptive upon arrival and explained each dish carefully as we were served each course. What I loved was the colour in the presentation - all the different pigments were mesmerising, even the sauces and gravy left on the plates when we were finished eating. And dessert is not to be missed - so many different dulce le leche options. As a nice touch because it was my friend’s birthday they gave us a mini meringue plate to finish our meal.
MoreIve been in Lima Fritzovia several times and its always good. Food, drinks and service, it can be relaxed at some extend, but food is delicious and a great representation of the Peruvian modern approach to culinary, mixing the modern with contemporary in a very unique way.
MoreHaving visited approximately two years previously and been very impressed we returned on a Tuesday lunchtime and sadly had a very different experience. While the wine and ceviche were both very nice the following food and service was poor.We were first in a very quiet sitting and felt that maybe we were served Mondays bread as it was stale. The Lomo Steak Huancaina had very little food on the plate and what was there tasted of nothing, the soy sauce served with it was overpowering. The Chicken Pachamanca looked and smelled unappetising and was overly salted (this was discounted on the bill as a kitchen error). The King Prawn Chupe consisted of tasteless and underseasoned prawns (?frozenin a broth which had a taste reminiscent of burnt plastic; we were advised that this was how it should taste.A side ordered arrived after the main meals were clearly finished and so was not eaten, we attempted to send it back immediately however were ignored by the waiter.Service was difficult to obtain despite only three other tables sitting. Particularly when the late side was put on the table and attempted to explain that it was too late, the waiter ignored us for around ten minutes. We requested the bill at this point rather than staying for desserts and cocktails we had planned on.Really sad to have had this experience after it was so good previously. Perhaps this explains why there were so few customers. (September 2017)
MoreManager could be more courteous to customers. Just because I am taking photos he thought Im a paparazzi - what kind of paparazzi uses normal selfie digital camera, but oh well the embarrassment he created.Food - was a hit and miss. Some dishes were so good, some were just mediocre and this is not because it isnt good, but we just find it odd. Eg. the Cobia Fish Tiradito tasted funny. The fish tasted funny like it was unfresh, but I cant be certain for sure as this is my first Peruvian experience, it could have been that taste for all I know. The mixed ceviche was much better - did not taste odd. We had lamb for main and it was to die for!!! Dislike the leaf salad - I think Im not a fan of fig and goats cheese. Desserts were wonderful!Great experience overall, minus the part where they almost denied my entry due to the miscommunication. Hope to visit again in future to try other dishes!I booked in advance which i think its recommended as they seem to be full on weekends.
