Classic brekkie fare, burgers & mains offered in a breezy, beachside cafe with deck seating.
When to Lighthouse Beach Cafe earlier today , only to discover with disappointment , this beach view cafe , is closed for renovations - until late DecemberWe will have to try another time
We had a good lunch! Oysters are very fresh. Great view and variant of menu. We ordered steak and squid fettucine, perfectly cooked scallop, steak and amazing shrimp!
In response to your managements reply to my review. I told the waiter at the time exactly what I said in the review and he said he would pass it on. As for waiting over a week to post a review, so what? I posted several reviews that night (all others were goodwhen I had the time. If you cant stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.
Disappointing tough $34 steak. Tasteless chimi churri, charred lettuce (why?and greasy potatoes (not chips). 2 stars are for the very good waiter.
Thanks Scott for your great service. The food was better than we expected. After your meal, enjoy a short walk to the look out, enjoy the view and get some happy snaps in.. We will be back. See photos.
The cafe location is right on the water at ballina . We sat there watching the whales breach while enjoying our food. Great selection of food with some great local ales &wines too notch.
Great food and service amazing views so lucky saw some whales today. Highly recommend.
Went out for breakfast and the staff was really friendly. A place with a good view and good food. Loved the place ❤️
The coffee and scones and muffins were fantastic. The view from the Cafe out to sea and watching whales breaching was well worth the 1 hr drive. Going back for lunch very soon.
The view is great, 2 lovely waitress Blonde & Brunette, missed their names!Waitresses get the stars xxxService in order of customers TERRIBLE & Managers attitude TERRIBLE.Sat down at 11:45am for lunch understanding light lunch menu available but could order off Lunch 12pm menu but order not put through till 12pm. No problems at all from us.My hubby, my 3yr old & myself dining!Ordered 2 milkshakes & a coffee, promptly made & served, lovely waitresses.Just after 12:10pm group of 16, reserved table, came in & seated.Their order taken & now put through 1st.Explained to us that our order to be now put through after the 16 group & now a wait.Ummmmmm, 3yr old now saying mum Im hungry...Waitresses lovely but now seemed embarrassed & acted sorry. After a quick talk to hubby decided could get quicker service at Cherry St. Bowling Club & let ladies know we might skip the order & finish our drinks.Order still not put through.Within 1 min.we were approached by male manager (in charge& asked how long we might be.What!!!In had 1/4 of my coffee left, same for milkshakes.Oh Umm, 5mins...Male, Oh great, turned & leftWe were a bit taken a back, obviously now not welcome & feeling uncomfortable we hurriedly finished our drinks... still trying to awkwardly smile paid for our drinks & left.Female waitresses smiling, now awkwardly too but theirs looked embarrassed!•Food looked nice from kitchen•Drinks nice•Prices were mid to higher end•Establishment run down, not overly old renovations in previous years.•Really wonky table & sticky, windows & cuboard doors not clean.Have been there before a few times for coffee with Mothers groups.Definitely wont be back with family, maybe just for coffee & thats because its on a walking path on way past for outing with Mothers group.EDIT:This was last week, not Sunday.Thursday 27th May 2021Waitresses were great as I stated, they looked like they were in an awkward situation, so lower staff no problem it was hierarchy (older malewith the attitude & the diections to his staff that was the problem.
We visited yesterday for a birthday luncheon, having driven from Lake Macquarie over a few days our experience was amazing. Extra friendly staff, delicious food a wonderful outlook the best tasting flat white coffee 😊Thank you we will certainly visit again when were back up this way
Very good place to Visit with friendly staff and good customer service experienced
Lovely location. Although it was overcast and stormy when we visited for the first time. Reasonably priced, full menu. Friendly staff. It was a really enjoyable experience. Recommended
A little disappointed with my experience, six of us went, I had the charcoal prawns, which were lovely, but the salad that they sat on was very bland coleslaw style, I just think for $25 it could have been a bit more exciting. We will not be rushing back. The staff were delightful and attentive.
Awsome Food Great Views of the ocean while you dine and very friendly easy going staff.Soft Shell Crab yumo and the Squid Wow.
Good was lovely, service great and atmosphere was relaxed. Plenty of parking with a small walk. Lifts are available as entrance does have a small incline to entrance.
I enjoyed an evening here for a baby shower. I had been excited to try this venue for a while and was not disappointed. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and relaxed. The outlook onto Ballina’s Lighthouse Beach paints a beautiful backdrop for the setting. The COVID safety was managed well, and adequate social distancing was in place. The staff were very helpful and provided great service. The food was beautiful and couldn’t be faulted. Everyone at the evening agreed it was a fantastic venue, with great service and food. Thank you for providing us with a wonderful evening out. I look forward to visiting again in the future.
We had our dog with us so we ordered at the outside kiosk. The cafes kitchen prepared our food. My wife had poached eggs with some marmalade on the side, I had scrambled eggs. It took 45 minutes, my wife received no marmalade there was no butter only one piece of toast each and old withered rocket in a pile. Dont know if the cafe itself would be any better but I wouldnt recommend it. The kiosk staff were not very helpful or friendly either.
Cant get you out of the place quick enough! Pushy and bossy manager who find customers an inconvenience. Dont bring numbers over 10 as not welcome. No air conditioning. Menu needs work. Toilets have dangerous slippery tiles.Covid check in is not very efficient. Whole experience not friendly or relaxing. Found the Shelley Beach Cafe miles better experience.
Amazing location, good food, fair price, happy waiters! Coffee and bacon n egg roll were perfect!
Great location, clean and airy and they take Covid 19 seriously. The staff, all staff were courteous but friendly, efficient and just good! Very impressed.Food came quickly, was well presented, portion size was very fair. The menu whilst not extensive had something for everyone with an emphasis on seafood. Given the history of the area and the breaking waves on the beach, outside this was great. All meals eaten by all with smiles all around
Been here a few times on my regular visits to Ballina. Staff are all professional and friendly, lead by Tina who cannot do enough for you. Great view and the food matched it. Great coffee. Best place to eat in Ballina with the best setting.
Great views & great food at this place. Comfortable setting & friendly service. No stress here for the company Christmas party!
Best eggs benedict Ive had in a while. We ordered a non dairy smoothie and it was twice the size youd expect. Great value and great service :)
My wife and I had a beautiful lunch at the Cafe today. The food and service were excellent, all at a beautiful location overlooking the beach. We will definitely be returning again. Keep up the good work!
Slow service, food was ok, coffee was not amazing....overall quite disappointed today but still give you guys 3 stars (:
Brilliant spot. Book ahead for a table at the window front to watch the waves whilst you eat. Staff is super friendly and the food is good. Special shout out for the kid-friendliniess of the staff members.
Lovely cafe perched over the beach with great views! It’s the perfect place to have morning or afternoon tea after a walk along the beach. Coffee was okay and the breaky burger yummy. The scones look good too!
Beautiful food, nice cocktails and a view. Could not ask for a better meal. It was a bit noisy, and busy but worth it for the wonderful food. The staff were friendly and efficient and the COVID-19 procedures were satisfactory. Highly recommend
The worst burger ever. The meat was burned and overcooked and the waiter didn’t care after complaining. I wouldn’t recommend this place! The only good thing was the view.
Really good service. We didnt have the best view, but as soon as a table with a view became available we were moved straight to it. Was surprised with how quickly our meals came out, seeing how busy it was. The meal was fantastic! Keep up the good work guys. Double thumbs up 👍👍
A great location for breakfast or lunch with incredible views. I had the eggs benny and a double shot flatwhite for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Not too busy if you get in before 8:30am. Staff were very friendly, food was great and the view is the best. Highly recommended.
Great place to have exceptional coffee by the sea. The views are spectacular & you might even see a whale 🐳 or two. Food & service makes for a very enjoyable experience.
Popular place in Ballina too. Where you will find joy and nice meal with wonderful atmosphere.
Great Friendly Staff!! Wonderful Food!! GORGEOUS View!! Ill be back!!!
The food was Good but not the best. I liked the view of the beach and the waves. The cafe is a little pricey for what you are getting. Sure go check it out!
Stylish cafe with great lighting and decor. The view is well worth the price you pay, especially if you get a window table. The breakfast dishes we ordered were slightly smaller than expected but very pretty and tasty enough to warrant another visit. Overall a great first experience, thank you.
Beautiful food and with a view of the ocean! Doesnt get any better than that!
A modern, busy cafe with great food, great prices and owners who are actually on the floor talking and liaising with their customers. The view is by far the BEST in Ballina, and we often see dolphins and whales in season. We would love to give the owners Karen and Peter 10 stars because we know just how hard they work to create a wonderful experience for their customers. Amazing! Melissa and Steven x
Great place and so close to the beach, lovely sea view from the seating area. Chicken burger was a hit! Fish and chips were average. Smoothies not that good. Pricing standard. Staff really friendly and helpful without being overbearing.
Good food, great view :happy!
4.3 👍 - Casual Cafe with Beautiful views, Good Hearty Breakfasts and Drinks. I tried the Non-Dairy Smoothie which was delicious. Toilets were clean and there are some nice lookouts nearby. Lots of families, Waitresses look worried but seemed friendly enough.
Freshly squeezed juice was so tasty and cool, makes a real change from having the standard coffee. The food was delicious and plentiful and I found the prices comparable and reasonable. The staff, firstly I rang to book a table for two, half an hour prior, I did request an ocean view right on the balcony if one was free, but understood being a late booker if that wasnt possible. But when I arrived, oh my goodness the best spot!!!! Thank you.The service was impeccable, from being served to the food and drinks coming out. The staff really pulled off team work and customer satisfaction to a T.
Such a gorgeous location with lovely food, staff and views. We enjoyed a range of dishes but the seafood platter was a great treat!
We had breakfast here. The prices were comparable to other locations. The food was great and well presented.Staff were very friendly. The reason I only gave them four stars is that they did not stop for a minute to remember Armistice Day 11-11-18.I guess that money comes before recognition.
I knew that our visitor from the UK would be charmed. So much about our breakfast here was wonderful. We got moved to a marvellous table. Gazing over the sparkling Pacific Ocean was breathtaking. The waitstaff could not have been friendlier nor more helpful. When my guest asked for tea...English Breakfast was the reply and then we all laughed when she said...we call it tea.Breakfast was delicious. It was however the wildlife that stole our guests heart....eagles, pelicans, many small sea birds I did not know, stunning kingfishers and tiny wrens. It was like there was a show just for her.A few weeks later I went back - lunch was awesome!
Great spot. Right on the beach. Lovely staff. Good food
Just what Ballina needs! Great restaurant, beautiful view over surf and lighthouse beach. Good food for breakfast and lunch, excellent coffee and excellent service. Recommended for anyone visiting Ballina, the locals love it!
It is very good place to lunch. Beautiful!
Magnificent views overlooking Ballina beach, and a wonderfully welcoming atmosphere. The menu is fairly standard Aussie faire, with a seafood bias, and a lovely selection specials to mix up the main stayers. The kids menu is suitable enough for even the fussiest of eaters, and the portions sizes are massive!
