Ben Yehuda St 1, Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel, Ramla
Set in a commercial area, this stylish hotel is a 10-minute walk from Tel Aviv Beach on the Mediterranean Sea, and 3 km from both the ancient Jaffa Port and Tel Aviv-Hashalom train station. The chic rooms come with free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and minifridges, along with sea views. Upgraded rooms add furnished balconies with open-air whirlpool tubs, while suites provide sitting areas.Loaner bikes are free. Other amenities include an airy restaurant, a lobby bar and a vibrant rooftop bar. There's also a terrace with a hot tub. Massages are available.
I had a very negative experience with Lighhouse hotel.First of all, when we arrived, our suite was placed next to a laundry. Staff used it regularly and when they’d forget to fully lock the door, it would sound a fire alarm. That was not the best experience coming after a long flight from the US.The hotel itself was very dirty. The rooms were ok. But the halls were not cleaned. And they kept the lights in the halls so dark so you couldn’t see it. But it made it a very frightening place for our daughter. Also, wasn’t pleasant to find one of those huge Israeli cockroaches in our bathroom in the morning. They offered free drinks and snacks in the afternoon, which I guess was also part of the strategy to not have guests notice how run-down the place was.We decided to leave. And cut our stay from about a week to three days. We spoke about it to the manager and she changed our reservation promising that a refund would be forthcoming. And this is where the problems started. The refund never came. Calling staff has been completely useless. They take your phone number and never get back to you. They say they’ve escalated with no results.Basically, Lighthouse is a fraud. With the fact that they won’t honor their commitment and provide a refund for the days that weren’t used is beyond the worst experience I’ve ever had.I would never recommend that anyone stay at the hotel and by extension at any of the Brown hotels.--------Update Oct 21, 2022. I love that that hotel responded with this quote:"We wish to get the chance to change your current experience."Its easy. All you have to do is call me, you have my name, look it up, find the booking and provide the refund.
Good hotel. Very well located. The staff is very pleasant. Modern rooms.
Very dissapointing stay, very loud, small rooms, the meaning of a lighthouse is totally missed ... it is dark and resambles more of a dungeon ... we booked extra tours but this was totally ignored. Even from the management there was no response. I really hope that not all Brown hotels are the same. The hotel is a CON in this respect!
Great Hotel! Beautiful! Only complaint is the tv is not smart tv.
After being let down by a nearby hotel, I arrived here at around midnight and the staff were so welcoming and caring, ensuring that they did everything they could to help me. As a young, female, solo traveller, I was in an extremely vulnerable position in a foreign country and the man and woman working here made me feel very safe. The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean, and had a great view of the city. The hotel itself is also really beautifully decorated and in a great location right next to the beach. Would definitely recommend and stay again!
I come here all the time and the service is perfect 😊
I went there for their buffet breakfast for 110nis. I can tell you it was fantastic and full of choices as well as a great service. Staff were attentive and the food was delicious!! You get access to the buffet. Plus unlimited drinks and a dish from the a La carte menu - pic included - only videos of the buffet but they had everything! Would highly recommend to friends!
Nice hotel, good service and amenities - rooms are a bit small.
My boyfriend and I payed for the least expensive room and we wouldnt recommend it. The room was small and the only way to get to the bathroom was to get on the bed since the little room we had to move was blocked by a TV mounted on the wall which forced us to bend and try to get around evertything. My boyfriend even hit his head on the TV beacuse of it. Also, the bedding was covered in stabbing feathers and the wind kept loudly pounding at our windows. We complained about the room and the stuff upgraded us without pay to an executive suit which was perfect. The view was breathtaking, the room was very big and it was quiet. If youd like to stay in this hotel, Id recommend paying more for a room. Beware the rooms in the hotel are expensive. The service was pretty good. They offered free champagne and beach towels. The location was great, too bad we came at a time of a serious street renovation.
The hotel for Israeli people. Staff will not serve you properly unless you speak Hebrew.
The staff was unhelpful. We always had to call the reception multiple people times to get anything sent to the room.We have the room with a jacuzzi. The porch door was way too heavy. The gym looked disgusting. The bathroom door was broken. The lighting in the room was terrible, it was always way too dark and the porch does not allow sunlight in.On the plus, The breakfast was great! , the view from our terrible was very picturesqueAll in all, the hotel is not worth its price. And the hotel workers did not seem to care for any of our complaints.
Great view from the windows of the rooms. Bicycles free to rent. Polite and ready to help people at the reception. Mineral water and a chocolate as a compliment in the rooms. Fruits and sweets during Friday and Shabbat lunch. 5 minutes to the Tel-Aviv sand beach. You just have to try it! Thanks, Lighthouse!
Good hotel, amazing breakfast and staff! The gym was disappointing. Could do with better equipment and a facelift and being in one room.
The front of the hotel looks like its a disused building which makes it very hard to find the entrance of youve never been. The foyer is ok and has a good atmosphere. You can serve yourself a glass of champagne but you wouldnt know it if you didnt work it out. The room we stayed in was not clean. It was poky and bathroom not clean. The toilet did not always work. It was basically blocked the whole time. Three times my wife had to go to the hotels dining room bathroom at 4am as our toilet was blocked. The location is fine, we had a nice sea view and there is a good vibe about the place but service and the quality of the hotel is not worth it. The location of the spa and gym facilities is like walking down to a disgusting warehouse. The escalator looked like it had been ripped up 20 years ago. The hotel was over priced for what they offer.
Rooms are quite small. When windy, due to deficient isolation, I got a continuous loud whistle making it impossible to get any decent rest.
-the place promised discount in parking and didnt give it since "we only asked for discount during checkout".-breakfast of lowest quality.-walls and floor is black, covers dirt and general uncleanliness.Stay away.
There are not enough words to describe how disgraceful this place is. I booked a room through booking.com for 7 nights. The lobby was very dirty, so we hoped it’s only at the lobby but unfortunately the entire hotel was not cleaned. I was in a great mood so decided not to make a big deal out of that. People were complaining all around me but I had a good time. Looked like no one cares about the place. Cockroaches and mosquitoes were the main guests at this hotel, as we all discovered serious water issues around the hotel. The staff were generally nice, sometime even extremely nice, and it helped me to go through the entire stay without filling a complaint or asking to be moved to a different hotel. some people weee moved because what happened there is not less than a disaster, but even in a disastrous situation, we can have fun, especially when there were nice people working there. My room wasn’t cleaned everyday and when it did it was only because I assertively demanded that several times! So if you’re not as assertive (almost aggressiveyou’re expected to stay in the dump. The breakfast was nice but the menu is the same every day (never changed a bit). The terrace is extremely beautiful but the restaurant doesn’t serve drinks or food except for breakfast. During the evenings it usually hosts private events, and during the day staff were busy with trying to take care the horrible bugs crisis. Violent bugs were attacking me in the gym, which from some reason is split between 3 tiny rooms at the bottom of an out of order electric Escalade. The thing that really ruined my surprisingly accepting mood is the fact they’ve charged me with 900 VAT in cash and refused to provide me with an invoice for the stay and for the vat.
Lost our laundry that we sent for dry cleaning, horrific customer service, front desk laughed in our face when we asked for an iron and ironing board to be sent to our room because they have “250 rooms and not enough irons.” She said “good luck” on keeping the iron because house keeping usually takes it back after they clean your room so we decided not to have our room cleaned during our stay because we had several items that needed to be ironed. If you wait in the lobby you’ll hear other customers complaining on their stay. Before the manager spoke to us he had a customer complaining on how a package was dropped off for them and the front desk lost it. Horrible experience and never coming back again. I highly do not recommend this hotel unless you want to experience terrible customer service and take the chances on losing your personal belongings. If I could rate service with negative stars I would. Save your money and the headache.
The building is infected with cockroaches and no one really seems to care. They take no responsibility for their actions and were largely unhelpful. Stay anywhere else in Tel Aviv. Not worth it.
We went just for a brunch. It was literally the worst food I have ever tried in my hole life. It was stinky and smelly and there were insects comes out of the food.I don’t know how the health ministry is allowing to that place to host tourists from out of the country.I felt a stomach ache after eating there.I don’t suggest that for my worst enemy !We still paid about 40 dollar though!
Stayed her eine night. Thanks Elisabeth! The location is awesome and they have free bikes to borrow.
The good:BreakfastVibeLocationThe bad:Mounted TV in a way I bumped into it almost every time I had to use the restroomThe gymThe ugly:My resident cockroach (but we became friends eventually)(also, its a big city, this happens)
Hotel is falling apart and service is average. The place is bad at so many level: rooms arent very clean, gym is the saddest ive ever seen but also very creepy. The spa is full of mosquito and other insects, it seems that they are not impressed when I complained.Breakfast is identical every day and during the weekend, there is no coffee machine and sometime no green tea. I will not go back to this hotel. For the price this is not correct at all.
Stayed here in Feb, AC was not working, had to open window for the night and ended up getting bitten by mosquitoes. The receptionists were extremely slow at responding to any query and not polite at all. Would not stay again.
We have been there for the breakfast+Spa: The breakfast was great, tasty with high quality dishesThe spa is nice, very friendly staff and except the massage there is a Souna and Jacuzzi. Note that the spa is level -1 so no natural lightHotels design is very nice, colorful modern and central location
Very trendy hotel in perfect location and beautiful roof terrace. Staff very friendly. Room prices a little high
The room was nice and clean but not that spacious. The service was not the best especially in the bar on the 5th floor. The bar on the roof top doesnt work. Overall it was an ok experience which i wouldnt say i did expect from a Brown hotel
Probably my worst hotel experience in israel. The service is a disaster. The hotel is in a poor shape and the cleaning is very average (they did not clean my room for 48hours because they forgot…). I have never seen such chaos, poor management and bad customer experience. Breakfast is the highlight of this place yet again the service is Basic and rude :(
5min walk to the beach, rooms are very funky and cool, have everything you would want in a room.
Clogged toilet, broken shower. Very outdated and old I wouldnt recommend this to any person I love
Worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The man at the front desk is the rudest person I have ever encountered and he completely ruined our first trip to Tel Aviv. I have tried getting in touch with the hotel 10+ times to discuss my feedback and no one has responded. Room had a leak, ruined my phone charger, smelled of mold, breakfast bad, service terrible, rooms dark and rooftop closed. Would never recommend anyone stay at any Browns hotel
This is a 3 stars hotel more expensive than a 5 stars. Dark, small and dirty rooms. It is a tourists scam, don’t go to this hotel.
Really bad service the rooms was old and dark. The toilet maid the worst noise and they didnt care. The water in the shower were yellow and the staff couldt care less
We stayed here for 1 night during passover for the last night of our holiday, I upgraded to a Suite with a city view and bath for an extra 200 Shekels prior to arrival. Check in was terrible, there were 3 members of staff at reception and all were extremely slow and inattentive, after a 20 minute wait we were seen. The hotel is dark and dingy and there arent enough lights in the rooms. The room we were given didnt have a bath tub - the hotel had run out of those so I upgraded for no reason and the upgrade wasnt what was advertised. A lot of the residents were quite young and were walking around in their swimwear in reception, they werent being very respectful towards others. The restaurant only served breakfast and again this wasnt what was advertised during booking, the rooftop bar was also closed until summer - something we werent made aware of. We stayed on the 8th floor and it was very noisy, there was a lot of noise from the street and the hallway and lifts. The bathroom is badly designed and most of our room was flooded after taking a shower, I had to use our towels to mop it up. We spent a lot of money and were very disappointed, I doubt the hotel reads reviews - I hope this helps anybody thinking about booking this hotel. Dont! Take your money elsewhere!
Will NEVER stay at a Brown Hotel again.Terrible. Terrible. Terrible.Everything is broken. Zero service. Maids are rude. Dirty place. Noisy. You have to ask for anything minimum three times. But most of the time, we just gave up. They don’t answer the phones, lines at front desk are huge, and when you reach someone, they promise something, then forget/ignore.AC broke during stay, pillows have stains from who knows what - see pictures, fridge was filthy upon arrival. When the cleaning lady actually does show up, she’s rude, doesn’t replace towels or change sheets. Even after tipping, she still didn’t do these things.Water goes everywhere outside the shower and floods bathroom after every shower (see photos), nothing you can do about it. The rooftop (the only reason we stayed herewas closed, without warning, entire stay.Neon lights blinking from AC and ceiling kept us up all night - along with noise from hallway and adjacent rooms. Breakfast had nice presentation but tasted like a prison meal.I could keep going but…Just do yourself a favor and stay away.Never been so happy to check out of a hotel.
Room did not matched the pictures AT ALL. I paid full price for a room with a king bed and what I received was a tiny room in an “adjacent” part of the hotel, queen size bed, very little space and poor lighting. For the price, you can get a way better room. Staff was also not very welcoming and had an attitude when I complained that the pictures were deceiving.
Spent one night during the weekend with my wife. The location is great, close to the beach. The spa experience lacked a bit more atmosphere and the jacuzzi was cold. The massage was good. Our room had a nice sea view and was very comfy with good space. Breakfast was ok, not very exciting. The overall experience was nice and there were lots of free treats at the lobby, including fruit, coffee, champagne and more.
We took a Thursday night vacation and upgraded our room to one with a porch and jacuzzi. We had a pleasant experience in both the room condition and the facilities such as the massage for couples. All in all, would recommend to anyone who wants boutique urban experience.Special thanks to the little treats brought to our rooms because we mentioned we were newly wed couple.Points for improvement:1. I found the porch door way too heavy to move.2. The breakfast lines were long and that day there was an unpleasant breeze coming through every time some one came from the outside area.
This hotel is new and located in a great part of town, within walking distance to everything. I had a great view from my foom of the Med. Sea and the 5th floor patio/dining area is amazing. I highly recommend staying there.
Not recommended at all. Starting with the attitude at the reception, the great disappointment from the room (completely different than the pictures, the nice picture is from the hotel website), the noise at night from the dance club in the building and the maimtanance of the room (shower tap detached from the wall during shower). We left the hotel after one night, at least they let us go without charging us for the second night. oh, the breakfast is good
Breakfast and dining area is nice. Do not expect to be able to use the jacuzzi, as it wont be filled. The rooftop does not belong to the hotel, so it is a bit of false advertising . Very dim lighting, if you are in to that. Good massages.
This is a good hotel, with a very cool decor and vibe. There is a great view of Tel Aviv city and the sunset over the beach from the rooms (stayed in the 14th floor). The breakfast spread is excellent and can be nicely enjoyed on the terrace. The gym is decent downstairs. Staff are fairly friendly, but were not that helpful when lost an item in the hotel. Make sure to grab the free coffee downstairs by reception.
This is the worst hotel with the worst value for money I have ever been to. The staff behavior during check-in was absolutely disgraceful. The room wasnt ready on 7pm and they wanted me to pay more money for another room that it is ready. The rooms have very poor acoustic, and are loud to a level we couldnt sleep because of the sound of people walking on stairs leading to the bar on the roof. They just take a whole lot of money without any reason.
This deceptively large, funky hotel is only a few minutes walk from the Tel Aviv beach. The lobby offers typically Tel Aviv cool vibes and the decor throughout is designed to match. The terrace is a relaxing place to hang out with tables, chairs, sun lounges, a jacuzzi, and amazing views. The hotel is decorated in a modern black color pallette, but the dim lighting in the rooms and rug-covered concrete floors make it a bit gloomy for my taste. Reasonably priced and nicely located, its worth a stay.
Superb and great value for money. Our room was very clean and comfortable with sea view. Service was excellent and the breakfast on the fifth floor terrace was fabulous. The hotel is also in proximity to the beach and you can get free bikes to get around. Parking could be challenging and we negotiated a day price with one of the parking operators on Allenby street near by which made parking much cheaper. In short, highly recommended.
Our 16th floor suite rooms, the view, the lobby and the 5th floor Terrace, and the location were all excellent. We enjoyed all of that. However, for a relatively luxurious hotel, the staffing was somewhat problematic for us: there were times when there were not enough staff available to help in a reasonable amount of time; they couldnt recommend a nearby good restaurant; the doorman did not speak English (yet many of the hotel guests speak Englishso couldnt help us get a cab; when GETT cabs were too busy to come get us, one of the staff at the front desk said they only use GETT cabs so she couldnt help us. The one person that smiled and seemed to go out of his way to be helpful was Daniel, the Customer Relations manager. He was wonderful.
Disappointing experience. Definitely not meeting the standards of the other brown hotels. We ordered a room with terrace, which was small, and with zero privacy. People in adjacent rooms AND IN THE PUBLIC TERRACE WHERE THEY SERVE BREAKFAST could see right into our room and jacuzzi. In order to have minimal privacy in the room we had to keep the drapes closed which made the room dark and gloomy all the time. Really not the vacation atmosphere one would expect.Service was not meeting the brown standards either. We complained at the reception immediately after check-in, but they did nothing. When trying to call reception from the room, they never answered (and we tried several times).I will say that breakfast was delicious with good service, and message was good, but overall very disappointed from this brown hotel. Definitely not worth the price.
Great place, great location. The executive room with sea view was amazing. The hotels offers free bicycle for biking around tel aviv and is found few minutes of walking from the beach. The hotel web site shows a rooftop floor, but turns out the rooftop isnt part of the hotel, its a bar which requires pre ordering.
the staff was super nice. the rooms are well designed and super comfy. I think coffee maker is missing in the room. I had the sea view room which had an amazing beachfront view. the location is central and you can walk to almost anywhere in the city.
Has the potential to be great and it is, mostly. I loved the Molton Brown amenities. Really high quality and really gave the hotel a luxury feel. The rooms were clean and I loved the view I had of the city and the Mediterranean. The location of this hotel was perfect, it honestly couldn’t be any better. Right next to the beach and other major attractions, like Rothschild Avenue. The staff on the reception were so friendly, really gave us such a good impression of Israeli people. They shared their favourite restaurants with us and where to visit during our stay in Tel Aviv. Our room had a welcome gift was I really loved, who can say no to chocolate?Alas, the bed in my opinion ruined this hotel for me. I found the bed to be very hard and it really hurt my back. My partner shared the same sentiments so I know it isn’t only me! Also, two twin beds to make a king isn’t a king bed. The shower took a while to get hot (it’s possibly because we are on the top floor so maybe it took a while to get there, I’m not sure). There was quite a bit of dust on the headboard but I wasn’t too bothered by that. The TV was set a default volume of around 12-14 so can you imagine turning the TV on at night while you’re trying not to disturb your neighbour? Not a good move. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel.
