Light House Seafood Restaurant Matang - Seafood restaurant in Taiping, Malaysia
Business is very good and full with customers. Foods are delicious with reasonable price too. Just need to prepare more tissues as the coffee shop is hot and humid during noon.
First time visiting here. The food taste is acceptable. Normal and nothing impressed. For service, i waited for my food for 1.5 hours... When I arrive, there are quite full, I need to walk to counter to call them to help me clear the table, again, no come back for taking order. I need to go counter to order. I think the services got a lot of improvement needed. If you come when at noon time, the surrounding is very hot.Overall, good food but not really satisfied.
Great food in this slow and easy small townThe seafood porridge and the blood cockles are wonderful.
The porridge is very niece. The price is reasonable RM129 for 5 person with 4 dishes. Sotong, lala, fry fish and vegetable.
It may look like an old run down coffee shop but the food is amazing. The claypot porridge is delicious. We had pomfret and prawn porridge. Seafood was fresh and not fishy at all. The porridge was like rice with seafood broth, very flavourful. The fried little fish were crispy that you can eat it whole.
Nice and good food can find here. All are your favorites. Sure you like them all.
Price ok. Food average. You have to becareful on the quantity of food you order. The staff recommendation on the quantity is too much for us to finish!
Overall is good but slightly long wait due to crowd though already after lunch hour
Personally felt that the signature seafood porridge was so so, nothing specialService was fine.I could be wrong but the water used for cooking and drinking taste weird.
Visited here bcos saw it on Ah Xian programme.Best seafood porridge i ever had!All the seafood in the poridge is so fresh, giving the porridge natural umami.Another dish i love is the fried fish. Cant remember the name of the fish but just simply divine. The head are totally crispy tat u could just eat it but the flesh is still tender inside. Yummy!Last one is what they called 乌翅尾, a kind of shark. Meat is really tender. The owner would ask u if u wan the liver as well, hmm, personally nt too recommended cause the liver only lightly cooked, so it was very fishy and soft the texture, makes me feel a little disgusted.Overall this shark dish does nt taste really nice but can hv a try since is only available at Matang for this species.
We ordered the signature claypot seafood porridge for 3 person cost rm88 , no crab but got medium size prawn , white promfret fish , fish ball , the oyster noodle cost rm8 per 1 person dish , fried small fish was crispy , steam lala was good .. so far so good
Its bad service that need wait about 45 minutes only ppl take order, nobody serve the cup/glass after put bottle of water on the table same the cultinery as we need self service from the kitchen. We arrived at 1.35pm but the porridge served at 3.10pm on Saturday. If anyone going weekend, please watch out & good luck! I will never have my meal at this such bad service restaurant. The porridge taste soso due ppl said delicious because seafood are fresh. You may get the similar porridge at Bandar Puteri, Puchong Selangor, thank you.
Nice restaurant famous with the seafood porridge, huge pot served with various seafood of your choice. Other dishes are nicely cook as well
Charges are considered reasonable, seafood fresh ,seafood porridge has a variety of mixed seafood ,crabs fried with mee hoon. Parking is free ,quick service.
Nothing so special to must have, only this is path to 18丁, so like a tourist restaurant most stop for seafood. Expect 1hr waiting.
Speciality is they seafood porridge, you can choose fish, lala, fish Ball etc. Parking is limited . Taste wise is good.
A hidden gem located in the way to Kuala Sepatang. It is famous with its claypot seafood Poridge. Seafood taste fresh. Price is reasonable.
Thumbs up for the foods and the price yet not so much on the service there. No response from the staffs while you asking around, only give their responses when you are paying for the bill.Long waiting time for the foods to be served, cowarded with people when it is not meal time.
Fried fish is nice, especially with Kampung Koh chilli sauce. Seafood porridge and other dishes are also very tasty
Other than seafood porridge, the fried rice and kueh Teow is good as well.
Very bad service. Had to wait an hour before they come to take your order but for locals, before they sit down order is already taken
Super yummy food at reasonable price. Seafood is fresh and their service is great! Highly recommended to all 👍
Seafood lover paradise … reasonable pricing. Closing early at about 9.
Fresh seafood, generous amount of porridge cooked with your choice of fish/prawn, and reasonable price.
I love the fried small fish 炸魚仔Other dishes are average in terms of tasteReasonably priced, seafood are fresh
Very fresh Teochew seafood porridge! And safely eating under well ventilated area.
Prompt service. Serve good local dishes. The baby shark 乌翼尾 fried dried chilli is highly recommended
Ho chiak! Worth the trips coming here.Seafood very fresh , service are good , fast servicing.
For me not to say very nice..ok ok jeh
Fresh seafood porridge nice place, good environment and clean place. Price is so so.
Definitely off the beaten path and theres no way we would find a gem like this if it wasnt for our relatives bringing us here from Ipoh! It must be worth it if everybody is willing to drive one hour just to eat a bowl of seafood porridge! This 潮州 style porridge is delicious and comforting. We had ours with fish, shrimp, fish balls and mushrooms. It was an excellent combination. The rest of the accompanying dishes such as deep fried fish, squid and vegetable were also very well prepared. I can see why this restaurant has such a strong following. COVID-19 protocols and best practices were strictly enforced and adhered to by all making for a safe and delicious dining experience!
All seafood are fresh, fare and reasonable price.
Restaurant spacious, SOP of seating is fully observed.Very good seafood porridge.Price very reasonable.
Highly recommended porridge with wide selection of seafood. Porridge is well cooked with fresh seafood.Enjoy the experience.
Generous amount of porridge which you can select the type of seafood and fish to cook with. The place isnt air-conditioned and dont expect a nice setting. Unfortunately the type of cooking not up to my preference. Some may prefer such cooking style.
Nice seafood porridge. Just that it’s quite hot during noon.
On the way to visit Kuala Sepetang fishing village, I stop by this restaurant to try out their seafood porridge. Order a medium size claypot porridge with fish ball, prawn and fish slice inside. Suitable for young children as it the prawn are peeled of their skin and the fish slides without bone. And order extra fish ball to be added in. Nice and fresh prawn and fish slice. Fishball was crunch with next chewy texture. They are colocated with a chinese antique shop.
Best known for their delicious porridge. It is sad that the pandemic is taking a toll on them. Carbs ordered werent as fresh as it wouldve been. We do not know how much longer they can last. Support them lest they fold.Walls filled with Chinese paintings and Chinese sayings.
Fresh and cheap seafood! A little out of the way, but well worth the small detour. Their fish porridge and the sambal vegetable is a must eat.
Food here is quite good. Reasonable prices
Place has its own parking lot. Food was interesting and cheap. Place was very airy and ventilated well. Will come again.
Price is fair and some of the dishes is quite a catch, however that particular day I visit the seafood for the seafood porridge is not that fresh,
The seafood porridge is fresh and yummy till the last scoop. We love their oyster omelette too. Price is fair and portion served is good for sharing
Best seafood in the Taiping, matang, simpang area. All seafood without any form of poultry. Not halah certified but there are photos of Malays having their meal there hanging on the wall.
Great seafood porridge. Very fresh and also must order the shark meat with dry chilli. Village style presentation. Price not expensive. Good experience.
Nice teowchew style seafood porridge. Porridge with fish ball, fresh fish and prawn, rm60 (for 3 persons portion). You can request to have coriander leave and spring onion separately. 3 persoms portiion is a bit too much for 4 adults. Lala taste good but not very fresh.
Their seafood porridge is so so. Nothing to shout at. Price is ok but not cheap considering it as small town. Their steam lala clam is ok for the taste, fresh and big portion. Overall food is just ok.
Just about 25 minutes from the turn off from North South Highway, this is a village restaurant (complete w village style toilets 🙄that serves a type of teochew porridge as its signature dish. Other dishes includes a type of deep fried small fish that can be eaten whole...bones and all! Place is popular with locals and local tourist & on weekends, it is pretty packed with loads of tour buses.Myr 200 for 10 of us... 5 dishes
Taste to me was above average but my friends were fond about the seafood porridge. The seafood was very fresh. Price was for the seafood freshness.
Really fresh seafood. Generous amount of seafood in the porridge. The fried fish is a must order, crispy outside n juicy flesh
