Lido Beach Club in Funchal

This place is amazing

We had a very good lunch at the cafe. We did not go in the lido itself.

Great location OK food

The only good thing about this place is the view. Anything else (food, drinks,serviceis a failure. I’ve been eating Lapas every day in the past week and this are the worst I’ve tried. The pizza is a strong NO, don’t even think about it.

Ordered pizza came with raw base, waitress said should have said tohave the pizza to be well done

Fish and chips were nice, if you expect the to be like the UK, dont order! The burger was delicious. The view was nice and service was attentive and reasonably friendly.

The servers were slow and not paying attentuon to whats happening. Sangria was ok, but the second glass we asked for never arrived. Also we were charged 94 euros instead 9,4. We got refund in cash and it can happen but still..

Beautiful view , quick service and nice bolo de caco. My chicken wrap was good, the vegan wrap of my girlfriend had not a great sauce.

Plenty for children and teenagers to do here, besides mum and dad. Small restaurant, shop, ice cream parlour etc. Great place to stop and have drinks and snacks at reasonable prices. We had ice creams ine day and crepes anither. You could spend at least half a day here as there is much to do. Activities are a great safe swimming area with life guards at the Lido for which you pay a small entrance fee. With small playground for children and sunbeds for sun worshippers. There is a tennis court and basket ball area outside the Lido with a picnic area. All areas as ever kept clean and tidy nice place for a family day out

Not fresh cooked fish and fries, for 16 euro you do not get what the price deserves.

We had two meals here first fish and chips not impressed but thought give it a second chance again not good Had small pieces of meat in gravy with chips Menu stated pieces of meat and chips but more like casserole with tough meat!! Although could not eat it there was no offer of reduction in price. Service was adequate

Umm, this place used to be very good for a quiet afternoon lunch or just a drink with some amazing sea views, but going back after Covid it seems to have changed. The food just isnt as good and the portions are smaller on some items and as for the cocktails, well the ones we had were some of the worst I have ever had! The serving staff seemed a bit to distracted to be honest as well. Shame, we used to like this place but only went twice in 2 weeks this time (for bad cocktails!)

Have walked past a few times and always quite busy. Drinks, snacks and meals. Good choice. Surpassed expectations. Seasonal grilled fish was freshly cooked. Two good fillets with nicely prepared mixed salad and fried maize cubes. Very reasonable price and good view if sea and lido.

A good place to watch life go by even in out of season January.Very good value tuna wrap and a beer enjoyed in the sun in May !

Seafront beach bar with views down over the ocean. First pint of the day is very refreshing after 5 mile walk. €3.95 ! Pint / €2.95 small bottle of cider. Good place for a pit stop. Pricier than the old town

Its a "pavement cafe" overlooking the Lido. Only had drinks, which were fine.

This is situated on the promenade with views of the lido and sea. They have a range of light meals they also have WiFi. Ask them for a code. Not eaten there yet but will in due course

Restaurant has magnificent views of the sea, this place is open air has roof covering for strong sun, free WiFi connection has a good mixed menu go fish, meat and other choices, beer prices very reasonable. Will be visiting again soon.

Very friendly and attentive service. Prices are fantastic and the food is very fresh and tasty. View is nice. One of the best restaurants on Madeira.

Stumbled on the lido beach club accidently.Friendly stall, extensive menu. Our problem was the rain. Had to move tables as the rain dripped onto the table. Would visit again if the sun was shining. Give it a try.

The place was clean and the staff were friendly. There was a young couple smoking on a table near us, but luckily they left before the food arrived. I ordered fish and chips. The fish looked as if it had been frozen, it was over cooked and dry. The Poncha was very good.

The sandwich was great but the service not so much. The waiter got visibly annoyed when I said gracias instead of obrigada. I get it, you speak Portugese, but I was just trying!

Very confusing menus at this cafe - two color boards with simmilar and different lists 🤷‍♀️😄. What about dishes - kinda bland, i.e. soup seems never been salted, potatoes that come with meat also lack of the taste. The same meat dishes are kinda enjoyable, vegetarian salad a bit strange mixture but overall not bad. Staff is friendly even when really exausted because it was at the evening 😊

Stay far away from the really greasy and discusting pizzas. They say it is pizza madeira style, but I have been coming here for 8 years and never ate this bad. In fact worst pizza ever. Even a frozen one heated is better. . Views are ok and the steak with pepper sauce also... But really worst pizza we ever tasted...

Good bar and restaurant. Good food and drinks. Unfortunately, this spot, with the view and a passage to go to the pools could be a bit expensive compared to others but it doesnt matter, just once in a lifetime you can enjoy a drink or ice cream 🍨

Pleasant clean cafe next to the revamped lido swimming pools. Nice Chinesa coffee and Pastel de Nata.

Fantastic hotel!!!! Staff amazing, enjoyed the food with lots of variation, great location special mention to Wilson the waiter, Roberto at the Piano bar and all the reception staff too many to mention. Hopefully will be back soon. 😃

Great location. Nice view, inexpensive. Service pretty good buy a beer and chill. Salads excellent. Fish and chips! Chips were good fish not so. Tasted a bit old. Major problem I see in Maderia is the number of people smoking in the eating areas. There should be a smokers section. One smoker. R ruined half a dozen other diners

Great value and beautiful location

Nice café/ restaurant with view over the ocean.You can be seated inside and outside. There were many people there and it looked like they had the same trouble as we did. The thing is that I guess that the serving must have been very tired, because there wasnt any service even though we several times got eye contact and signaled that we wanted to place an order. It was very hot for the day, so I went inside at the bar to just place an order for two draft beers. We finally got our beers. I know that they can do better, but the service must have had an off day.

Nice place for a drink, wheel chair accessible though cobbles to get there a bit bumpy, has a disabled toilet but not the greatest

Lovely setting and good service

Very fun place! A nice restaurant during the day, a lively bar at night. You can enjoy your food and drinks next to an incredible view on the ocean. You can find mostly beach food here such as pizzas, hamburgers etc., but they are great! We also tried many of their cocktails and beers in the evening, and did not regret! Not the most high-end place, but the prices are moderate in return!

Even though the rice was slightly overcooked, I loved my risotto because there was sooo much octopus in it! And amazing cocktails!

Beautiful place with see view, delicious food and wonderfull service!The best toasts and club sandwiches.

The food was very bad. The pizza was made in a horrific manner... And there were great big chunks of tomato in it. The cheese was so chewy. The corn bites that we tried had a horrendous filling in them. The coffee tasted like the heaven of all of it. The orange juice they presented was incredibly sour and no one wanted to drink it. Will definitely not visit again!

Good food and inexpensive

Children thoroughly enjoyed the ice cream and the electric car rental to drive around the area of the green. Nice cafe for the adults to have a cuppa. Shop for gifts etc. Lots of cockroaches in the night on the green, kids thought it was funny.

Weary nice swimming accassion in Funchal. Stairs to the see are ewerywhere and safe for your body.

The hotel is excellent, the room is spacious, comfortable and well appointed. The all inclusive deal is good value, very good food and the drink is also included. The staff are all really friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. 10/10.

Great a place to stop for a quick beverage or coffee, but dont do food.Its placed right next to waterside and the of the ocean is great. Lots of shade available on a hot day.The do great coffee, but on a hot, you really has to try the sangria. And better taste both the red and the white version, but not in one session or you will have a hard time finding your way back home.The food is not worth it. Its bland and uninspired to say the least, and with that many great restaurants around you would really be wasting your time.
