Great place to spend a whole day with the kids.Lots of things to touch and use and experience. One of the best views at New York City Skyline from the 4th floor. Almost as good as the center itself.

The Liberty Science Center was huge with multiple floors. Very entertaining for my kids. Many different shows to watch and learn from. Something for everyone. There’s just so much to do inside. Also nice that there’s different exhibits all the time so you won’t get bored going back again and again. The cafe/food court they have there had really good food too!

A nice place to bring your family and kids for a taste of science, fun and adventure. The planetarium is a cool amenity but if you or your companions happen to be afraid of heights you may want to stay in the lower rows to enjoy your show. Overall, the place seems well maintained and the staff are friendly and professional.

Awesome place to teach kids about science! Plenty to do. We did the Sesame Street Star Gazing and the Oceans 3D shows and they were great. They also have two play areas for kids between 1-5. Highly recommended!

Great museum for kids of all ages. Lots of different exhibits, family friendly layout on each floor, great movies to see (extra cost), fun combination of hands on activities and learning, and great parking compared to other large children’s museums (cost is 7.00 but right at science center). Get there early for less crowds.

Staff was on top of cleaning and making sure the hands on activities were functional. Quick and easy check in process. Parking was reasonable, close to other attractions. Would drive 1 1/2 hours vs 20 minutes to go here than the Franklin Institute. More interactive exhibits and young child friendly. LOVED IT. We went specifically for the Minecraft exhibit.

Its so fun for kids of all ages and also parents. It makes learning fun for kids. There is so much to do like learning about the animals of our world. How you get sick, how hurricanes feel when youre in them. And so much more. So fun you should go differently.

Great way to spend a few hours ! Brought my daughter & her friend both age 12. Place is big, clean, & there is no lack of air conditioning. Lots of educational tools , signs, mazes, & movies . We walked each of the 4 levels carefully & found new rooms with lots to do ! Take your time & explore they have to offer ! Buy your tickets a day in advance for a discount. Parking is 7$ . I showed my teacher ID & they refunded me 10$

Where to begin…We have been members for a few years now.If you are seeking a place to visit for yourself or children this is a must see. One visit or many. There are countless interactive pieces + education is a major part of this fun place. This is a great place for young children as well, one of the few places around that had top notch rooms that help build cognitive skills. I highly recommend purchasing the membership if you are local, a fun place to visit year round (in the summer beware that it is cool in there so avoid light clothes or shorts/ dresses etc because you will be cold)Other points- workers are friendly and caring, there are exhibitions that are switched out, fun ways to learn about biology, engineering and life. The animals are seemingly well taken care of- although some of the areas are far too small they do practice adequate animal care which even zoos fail to do. Such as knowledge pertaining to the species and the required diet.An important component is spreading awareness of this, I saw a worker educating families on chinchillas and how they are exotic and require adequate care which is good.Is one day enough? Not really, if you want to truly learn and go through each floor you will need more than one day. Can you enjoy and see most of everything in one day? Absolutely. Is it worth it to commute? I think so.The theater is amazing, the environment is crisp and clean. The food is overpriced - decent but overpriced. The upside? You can bring your own food and drink with lid.No mask is required now, no proof of vaccination either which is a plus!Wait no longer, visit the LSC and see for yourself the wonders it has for our community to see.Best days to visit- WEEKDAYSWeekends are very crowded but it is not the worst if you can’t make it in during the week.

I brought my 5 and 3-year-old and we spent 4 hours exploring! The exhibits were well done and my kids were entertained all day. The planetarium is definitely worth a visit. I would like to go back without my kids so that I can spend more time reading the facts :)

Definitely not very enjoyable unless you have kids. Half the interactive stuff is broken, and theres no staff to intervene when large swarms of kids yank every lever possible. The planetarium and 3D theaters are awesome, but I wish there was an option to see movies without paying admission too.

We went during the weekend to escape the heatwave a bit and to do something a little different. They currently have a mine raft exhibition which is really cute and great for photo ops. I wouldn’t recommend the dinosaur film for younger children maybe 10 and above it’s a bit “scary” for the littles and more of a documentary style . To see everything you need at least 2 hours or more so you’re not rushing. All in all we had a good time

A trip to LSC always proves to be fun and educational. No matter how often we visit we always leave having learned something new. There is something to enjoy for every age group from toddler to seniors. The exhibits are kept in great condition. The layout and signs makes it easy to get around via stairs or elevators. The cafe has a great selection of foods, from burgers and chicken fingers to wraps and salads. The bathrooms are kept clean and have changing stations. There are also handicap accessible bathrooms. The staff is fiendly, helpful, and courteous.

Staff was very friendly, it’s a great place for kids and adults, the best thing was the shows . The shows are charged separately from Admission . They start at a certain time. The best time is to go early not after 1 since they close at 5 , this way you get to see and enjoy all exhibits. Pay by bank card or credit card is best , just in case .

This is probably the best place ever, to take my kids! The decoration, the exhibitions and the staff are amazing. The planetarium is really beyond words. That was my first visit to the center and I was shocked, how many wonderful things to learn and discover in a very funny way. A little tip??? Buy your tickets online! Is more effective and you dont have to wait that way.

Liberty Science Center is one of the gems in Jersey City. We visited several times over the years. Never fails to engage my young daughter. Even we have quality time between exhibitions and planetarium. This year we went during a free community evening event. The queue to enter was more than 30 mins. Otherwise the visit was pleasing and enriching.

Good place to visit with kids. We booked ticket online. For 3 members, including a kid it cost $108 including an experience show. Was not busy on Sunday at noon time. Parking easily available. Get parking ticket and pay when you left center. $7 per car. Digital booking ticket accepted. Security check at entry point in center. Normal bag allowed. Not hard security check.Food costly inside the center. For experience show, try to get top most seats. Keep few quarters for NY view.

Fantastic visit on a weekend. Easy access via NJTransit public transportation. Free entrance via the Amazon corporate membership which even includes a free planetarium show. That day was also the FIRST Lego League competition which was cool to see the kids competing.Love seeing the variety of live animals, and an automatic rubiks cube solver which was a lovely interactive exhibit. Plenty of things for kids and adults to learn and enjoy.

Absolutely amazing! I visited LSC as a kid but the newly renovated facility is just stunning & inspiring for all children. They have something for everyone. It’s phenomenally educational while being super entertaining. We actually paid to go to the 6000 square-foot Minecraft exhibition. My children and I couldn’t have had a better time! We even bought an annual membership so we can go back and see all of the other exhibitions this year. Hands-down best place around especially if you’re homeschooling your children or simply having family quality fun time 😍🤩😍🤩

A perfect day trip idea with your kids. The planetarium is the highlight as all the kids love the show. Apart from planetarium, there are many interesting exhibits which keep the kids busy. Cafeteria is nice with good options like pizza, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, Mediterranean bowls and snacks etc. The gift shop is pricey.

This place is always fun to visit and now I have my son to bring along. When we went today there was clearly some construction going on and not as many exhibits but it was still enjoyable. As of 7/10 they still enforce a strict mask mandate. Very cool place for adults and kidsLoss of a star because they dont split up people who order online vs at the gate. Whats the point of ordering online if you still gotta wait in the giant line?!

This museum is a must see for kids and adults !! Lots of on hands learning !! They have a really cool planetarium which is one of the largest on the east coast !! Spent the whole day here to get everything done. Right now they have Minecraft and paw patrol wing open!! The paw patrol is a giant playroom with items they can play with!! Theres also a brain games area with lots of games to play while learning. This museum also has a maze for kids 5 and up to climb in. Its suspended in the air and is really cool to see!! Theres also animals on Display our favorite were the little monkeys. Be on the look out for learning times!! The caretakers bring out the mccaws for Q&As. Lots to do and they have great deals for season passes!!

I havent been to LSC since I was a kid and was looking forward to experiencing LSC after dark. It is a 21 and older event with science experiences, food, cocktails and music. When I arrived I parked in the private lot. I walked in and got security checked and went to the ticket booth to scan my $22 ticket. I walked in and seen the bouncy house which I experienced and was fun and got some wine. We walked to the back and the music was booming and venders were everywhere. My friends got some food which they enjoyed. We went to the butterfly house which was so cool. We all had fun for the night and would definitely do it again.

We really enjoyed this science museum! It is a huge facility, and there are so many great exhibits that are fun for kids and interesting for adults. We went because they happened to have an exhibit on Minecraft, but we had a great day beyond that. So many things were hands on, but it did not feel unsafe because there was sanitizer everywhere. Also, it was not too crowded, which was great. There were some live demonstrations and a planetarium as well. If you are looking for a kids activity in this area, definitely check out LSC!

This review is being written to help inform parents of what to expect when or of your planning to visit the Liberty Science Center. I would like to first say it’s a great concept for hands on learning experience but it’s a bit boring after a while. We visited with my 1 year old nephew. It was a gifted to him from a dear friend. They are still requiring mask & vaccinations to gain entry. That may be a deal buster for some ppl.The first thing I thought was he’s to young for this place. Turns out I was somewhat correct. They have a few floors and feature different activities for a range of ages I just felt the toddlers could have used some more areas. When you first arrive they screen you for vaccination and I’d verification. You will then have to go through security check point ( I wasn’t at all mad at that, safety firstonce in the main lobby kinda reminds me of an airport terminal. They layout is VERY similar. Weather your buying tickets or you have tickets already you still go to the counter to get your wrist bands. Your then free to roam the facility. They have a gift shop and a photo op setup if your interested. We hopped on the elevator to see what we could get into. I believe they have 4 floors and feature a number of exhibits we visited wobbly world, brain games, and Paw Patrol to name a few. I’m not going to lie I was bored after an hour and my nephew was burned out too.We stopped by the Cosmic Cafe to eat lunch. The food was priced decently (I work in Tribeca so anything is cheaper then them 🤣lunch will cost you roughly $18 per person. I was impressed with how good the food was. Very fresh. My one gripe was how they would tray it as a grab and go. I’m not a fan of ppl having the ability to touch, talk over or handle food they others are buying. As we stood there a person walked up touched a tray of food and put it back. My sister and I immediately looked at each other like NOPE…. I want a fresh one handed to me. They do have a grab and go spot with quick snacks next door if your looking for something quick. Cosmic was hot food. Over all I will say this is a good get your kids out of the house spot. Kids 5 or older will get more from it. They will understand it more. I was also shocked to see how many people had school aged kids there during school hours.I took a few pics as we walked the facility. Hope this helps.PS they also have lockers and an ATM if needed.

I was so very excited about visiting this Science Center...until I got there on a Sunday morning. There must have been at least 2000 kids running about. As an adult, my visit, unfortunately was lackluster. Many of the exhibits are 100% geared towards children to the point of adults without children not having a single reason to even enter some areas.I paid the $45 general admission + two exhibits. I chose two of the movies showing in the planetarium (Night Sky and Planets). The movies were interesting, but one can tell those movies have been running for many years already. I fell asleep on the first one.By the time I was done with the two scheduled exhibitions, the lobby was a loud "Under The Sea" soundtrack dance-a-thon of little kids and parents. Like a Chuck E Cheese. As adorable as they were, I was praying for my ride to get there fast. My feet havent walked out of anywhere as fast in a long time.I wanted to love it, but I didnt.I would suggest the daring adults to visit during the week when it is not absolute mayhem happening inthere. I would suggest management for updated movies in the planetarium and hopefully inserting a couple of fun adult activities. We would like to learn about science too. I actually spent a few long minutes learning about the DaVinci robot, who did my surgery. Nice "hands"! My only photo is of the one activity I would have loved to participate in -a huge -avatar movie looking jungle gym-but it was kids only.

Ive been here a few times but it got pretty boring as my kids got older. Their mask and vaccination rules are pretty strict so be prepared when you go in. The exhibits are so few and easy to walk through. The new minecraft part is nicely done but doesnt have the value that your paying for. Its pretty dark throughout so it madr me very sleepy. Theres a lot of educational exhibits but I wouldnt go more than once.

Best indoor place for kids to learn and enjoy . Planetarium was splendid and my 3.5 yr old son loved it .The exhibits keeps changing so the visit to this place is not going to be an one time thing .Parking fees is $8 and there is a cafeteria inside to provide good food. Pretty crowded on weekends ,hence try to avoid if you aren’t ready for it yet . Overall a good place to spend a quality time with kids .

Tickets were on the expensive side but its so worth it for younger kids. My 12 year old was meh for most of it but he enjoyed the animal exhibits and the shows. My younger kids loved the whole museum and did not want to leave. We went for the Minecraft exhibit which was a little small but cool nonetheless. The staff were all knowledgeable and friendly. Will go back again.

Visited here on Sunday with my family. My son throughly enjoyed roaming through the exhibitions. He’s 1 yrs old we took a chance and bought tix for the Big Bird Planetarium space show, not knowing if he’d be too squirmy. He loved it sat through he whole show amazed. We walked so much a good way to tire the kids and you out for a day.

We arrived for the Liberty Science After Dark affair. It was so much fun! Im hoping we could go back. We arrived a bit late so we did not get to see all of the exhibits. At the after dark arrangement, there is: music, food and alcohol vendors! The dance floor is open all night. During the event, there are different shows that play within the dome, if you retrieve tickets ahead of time. Overall, the staff here is super nice and friendly!
