Li Yuan - Taiwanese restaurant in Taipei, Taiwan
Excellent xlb, all the other dumplings and dishes are good too. Classic and delicious
Yum!
Good xiao long bao. Tried original pork, oyster, and shrimp xiao long bao. Oyster was unique. Also got chicken soup, beef pancake wraps, and sesame soup. Beef wraps were crispy and excellent.
Apart from their hot and sour soup, which was unexpectedly subpar, everything we ordered was truly excellent.
All around pretty good…except for the Turnip cake which had a weird texture.
Four stars for just the oyster xiaolongbao! The rest was just mediocre.
Great food. Crispy beef roll, Xiao long boa and more. Clean, always full. Very reasonably priced.
Great 小籠包, best to eat on the spot. Maybe not as consistently visually perfect like DTF but a worthy and more fairly priced alternative. The oyster one (picturedshould definitely only be eaten in the restaurant. 櫻花蝦炒飯 is unusually sweet, even more so than the typical Taiwanese version.
A topsy turvy place!........Perfect xiao long bao at michilline start level, but mixed with other mediocre dishes. Not to mention, the service was more at street vendor level and self-helped serviet on the wall........
Li Yuan is really good. You have to get the pan fried beef bing. So very good.
Food was very tasty and friendly staff. Would come back again
Fresh juicy XI Long Bao. Tasty !! Clean environment. Staff are very friendly.
Really good food and portions, however it seemed the beef roll was missing the sweet sauce. Overall really tasty food, recommended to try although it is a bit on the pricey side.
They serve the dishes very quickly. Unfortunately the dishes are not to my palate. Theyre a bit on the sweet side, and the xiaolongbao is not juicy at all.
I come here since many years and I never wrote a review about this place. Why? Probably because the food is so tasty that I forgot about everything once I finish to eat. The best dumpling in the city...local cuisine at the highest level. Easy and tasty as it should be. I keep on going back for launch and dinners
Delicious juicy xiao long bao. Tasty crunchy wrap with beef. Cold appetizers in the fridge OK only and can be passed up. Will come back if in area. Close to MRT station. Visited on Monday at 11:30 with no reservation.
Xiao long bao said to be one of the best in Taipei but tasted just normal. Services were great though.
Two people for this table? No kidding. But we did it. The only reason we can do it is every dish is so delicious. I need to pretend this result is because we just went out the gym. Every dish is perfect but I don’t eat oyster so we didn’t order the special dish: oyster dumpling.
I was anxious to try this place as an alternative to Din Tai Fung and Tim Ho Wan. Several friends also recommended it. I went with a group of friends so that we could try a variety of dishes. The staff were very friendly and helpful and service was good. Several of the dishes were good, but nothing special. Two dishes were mediocre at best - - the beef pie (pastry shell was much too thick and chewyand the beef steamed dumpling (dough was too thick and the filling was bland). The fermented bean curd water spinach, however, was excellent. While I wouldnt object to going here again, it would not be my first choice in Taipei.
Fantastic! I strongly recommend soup dumpling with oyster. It’s not only special, but also delicious! A whole oyster is inside the soup dumpling. OMG, I really like it. Other foods are also with quality. I definitely will come here again! BTW, there are so many people during the peak time, so please come here at the “right” time😄
My go to soup dumpling place in Taipei. Highly recommended for their soup dumpling and shrimp soup dumpling.
Super fresh ingredients, tasty food and attentive service made this a 5* restaurant. Must try the xiao long bao, green vegetables, various side dishes. Cash only!
Food is terrific with reasonable price.
Great dumplings, fried rice, and service. Loved every bit of it!
Xiaolongbao with oysters and basil was a first for us. Friendly staff. They have a large selection of local Taiwanese food too, so its a fresh experience every time for us. Very clean restrooms.
Real decent authentic Chinese cuisine. The pumpkin-looking dumplings were actually black sesame dessert. Overall a solid place for some legit Chinese food fix.
Very yummy.. Very local. The berry in the blanched cabbage is very strong! But service very good to someone who speaks minimal Mandarin!
Very tasty and a great cp value. The service is excellent as well.Strongly recommended!
A small local Taiwanese restaurant with many Taiwanese dishes. From dumplings to beef buns to typical green veg options. The menu has items in English and Japanese as well as pictures to help you choose a dish youll enjoy.
Been a while so we revisited Li-Yuan. This was probably my 4th time there, and its still good. Plus, aren’t the mini pumpkins (it’s filled with sesame pasteand the panda (stuffed with runny salted egg yolkso adorable?
This is a solid beef roll. Best Ive had here. A bit pricey at $130ntd but yeah if I ever wanted one of probably go here.
Food was very good, we had just 2 people and we ordered 5 dishes and they were all very nice. Price was not expensive. Its better to go with a large group so you try out a lot of dishes. Staff were friendly, will definitely go again.
All the good stuff. The Xiaolongbao is pretty good, and the beef and scallion wrap is worth wrapping about. Service is very good and they have English menus with pictures if you dont speak Chinese. 4 stars because Ive had better, but also because Ive had much... so much worse
Excellent little restaurant with a wide variety of yummy dishes. The pumpkin sesame buns are a must-try. The oyster dumplings are also excellent. Get s table by the kitchen so that you can see the chefs in action while you
Top notch chinese/canton food, the sweet pie, the sesame sweet soup, the wantons, the beef pie, all a must try.The waiters are nice too, and you can have a beer or two inside.
All tasted delicious and service very attentive.
Love their sweet and short fish, its by far the best I ever had, because their fish is very crispy and the sauce blends in nicely. Their rice is also very chewy which I love it. Tofu is also very good, its a must have. Everything here is very good, trust me.
精製的小餐館,較像是北方麵店和點心類的。Its a noodle, dim sum, Chinese Northern style eatery. It could be a choice for the locals. It could be an interesting choice for tourists.
The XLB have better flavor than Din Tai Fung. Pan fried dumplings are great! Mix your own dipping sauce at the bar. Best beef roll burrito I have had.
One of our favorite restaurants in Taipei. We come every Sunday. They have great xialongbao, soups, spicy dumplings, and other Taiwanese staples. The service is friendly and quick. Their prices are fair and portions big. Everything you could ask for!
Very delicious local food. And because of the open kitchen you can actually see how they make it!
Din Tai Fung still no.1 but this is one is amazing too, definitely one of the best dumplings in Taipei, highly recommended!
Love the food bere, especially the sesame soup, a must try!!
All kind of their fried dumplings and xiao-long-bao made my day. Three of us were had great time in this restaurant. Very recommend this high CP value place to all tourists;)
Stumbled upon this gem!!! Significantly cheaper than both ding tai fung and jinan but almost as good! The side dishes were golden especially the taro! Melts in your mouth! The fried rice was great. Unbeatable price!!! This will be my go-to xiao longbao place now!
Food was tasty but not exceptional. Nicer seated experience than a street stall. English menu available. Wonderful service makes me give it an extra star.
We stayed at a hotel just next to this restaurant and one of the hotel staff recommended us the restaurant. Not so crowded and the staff was very attentive and nice. Of course the food was authentic and scrumptious!
A cute little dumpling shop where you can watch the chefs folding up dumplings while you wait for your meal. The pork and oyster soup dumplings were especially delicious, but the flavor was so strong that I only really wanted one or two.
Great dumplings and vegetable dishes. Fast service and has an English menu. Will visit again!
If you love dumplings, pot stickers, shao long baos, this place is it. Price is quite reasonable for the quality and taste. For those who dont speak Chinese, last I was there they were working on an English menu with pictures. For those who love Din Tai Fung, this place is equal taste and quality for a lower cost.
