A contemporary pub with antique furniture and lavish architecture, set in former town hall building.
Pub based in Old Town Hall. Decent enough pint, worth visiting. Didnt notice any food on offer
Impressive old building made into a lively and vibey eat London pub. Good drinks, pizza and great staff
Good pub but expensive and the bar staff needed to be taught how to pull a full pint. At these prices every drop counts!
Quiz night tonight. Great if youre participating, not so good if you just want a chat with mates.
Nice and cozyThey have blue moon beerRarely can find in UKDefinitely will come back 🍺
Women have bad attitude and dont understand why she tell me to leave the place every time.
I usually like this place as its our local but have noticed that recently that staff are not very friendly and the interior needs an update. Last time we came the place reeked of pot, which has turned us off from returning.
Excellent night. Thanks to Christian for our Dark and Stormy cocktails.
Seem dead. Sorry, not a local. Food is ship in from another shop. Excellent beer service and staff. Very friendly. Time was 3:30pm on Sunday.
A fantastic traditional style pub in a great location on Leyton high road. Simple decor and simple menus, plus great craft beer - get down there as soon as you can!
Spacious pub on the high road with inexpensive pints. Can get a bit loud but staff were friendly, especially if you have a table booked. Reserved a table last minute for my birthday and they made sure we had a quieter room to ourselves.
Pre and after match visit ,usual high standards ,quick and friendly staff ,lovely atmosphere 👍
Big quirky pub with mismatching furniture and a lovely chilled atmosphere. Beers well kept.
Friendly staff members, however not great customer service at times. This place is huge and could do with some refurbishment( walls, seats are dent)App to order the food isnt working.Music could be more recent and lively too, especially on weekends. Overall good place to have a quick drink.
Beer always nice here. Plenty of real ale choice which is stored and served well.Very busy on football days, which can be a pain when getting a drink, but there are plenty of comfortable chairs and settees to sit.Would thoroughly recommend having a real ale here, best ale in Leyton.
Fantastic pub. Great prices. Superb service. Will definitely come back here again.
Ordinary pub where people order pizza’s. Not my style and the prices of drinks changed each time we order the same drink… kinda weird.
My family hired one of the rooms out for my late dads celebration wake.We used the wide-screen TV to play a fantastic amount of photos celebrating dad and his family and life we had downloaded.Food was good, atmosphere relaxed.Close by to dads final resting place and right round the corner to his beloved Os.Grateful that it went as planned so thanks to all staff involved.Ps. Dad would have been happy with a Guinness 💙
Period grand old building. Pub is located within the old town hall. Quirky decor and nice high ceilings throughout with loads of space. Good range of drink and well kept beers. Service somewhat slow
Very unique pub with 5 or maybe 6 separate rooms. Interior is old-fashioned very cosy, you can find comfortable chairs or even a sofa to sit on and the atmosphere is relaxing. Definitely gonna visit again 😊
This is a very large pub with a vast range of drinks. The pub was very busy with football fans but they didnt seem to have enough staff to keep up. Had to wait a good 10-15 minutes every time we went to the bar, Needs better organisation at busy times.
Been her a few times, food been great, unique place with friendly staff. Something has changed food was ages, under cooked not very hot and they made a mess of the order when they tried to blame us we showed them the Email confirmation, result, we didnt eat together. They discounted the bill but will give this place a miss in future.
Nice comfy sofas, great decor, good food & service. Very convenient from Leyton central line tube. Will defo be a regular
Its a big place on the outside but cosier on the inside. The have a small selection of guest beers and their food is slightly better than the average pub. There are a few tables across the bar area and a few nooks to hide in. They also have a dining area but Ive not seen it in use. They hold various events each month one of which is an AV jam where electronic musicians and visual artists join up and improvise for a few hours. The transport links are good if its not your local and it imposes on a vibrant east end high street.
Pretty spacious and trying to rock the shabby chic look. The vibes not too bad and the staff are friendly enough. A good shout if youre just looking for somewhere to stop for a quick pint or 2 with a friend but I cant imagine being there for a piss up or a night out
Yes,another temple that cannot be mistaken with any other pub.Leytons former townhall has turned into a public house, and yes,the deco is appropriate, old school, cared for,a few rooms to choose from in the same coherent style.A simple trip to the restrooms is an underground journey of its own, same attention to the deco and "vintageness"... if such word ever existed.
Loved this place! Staff were really friendly , the menu was great, varied and perfect for any vegetarians in our group. Pretty reasonable prices and the pub itself is really quirky and nice ! Deffinately recommend this place. Will become a regular I think!
Amazing looking pub. Great choice of beer and friendly helpful staff. After eating here a few times I can say the food is excellent. Im surprised its so honestly priced as well, such good value for London.
Amazing space and interior itself, decent food, maybe a bit overpriced having in mind quality and quantity, but still ok. A lot of thematic events makes it worth checking again.
Good pub for a drink (nice and big), but I won’t go for food again. I took my family for Sunday lunch 10th Feb. Food came out lukewarm, and just wasn’t very tasty. The quality seems to have slipped very noticeably (I live locally and had a great roast last summer!). Staff were friendly & attentive but when we were asked how it was, and I said ‘not great actually’ and mum said ‘only okay’ (here having gone back for a microwaving once and still being lukewarmthere wasn’t any attempt to make that right.
Nice enough pub in a historic building. Good beer selection (both real cask ale and craft lager). Both staff we dealt with seemed new and inexperienced. Food arrived lukewarm. Was good though.
This is a local pub with friendly staff and security. The plus side of this public house is that its half way between a wine bar and a public house. The toilets are a bit similar to that of a third world looking countries. They are located in the cold, dump and rusty basement. However the atmosphere is great
Staff are lovely, helpful and humorous. Food is delicious but quite pricey. Lots of good ale and cider to choose from, and the music is great! Would recommend. (Loooong walk to the toilets!! 😄 but lots of interesting things to look at on the way to the loos!)
Located in a beautiful old town hall, this was really the first "gentrified" pub in the Leyton area. Dont be put off by this though, it has become a key part of the community. The decor is vintage and comfortable. If you want to eat there is a separate area for food. The beer selection is really good particularly if you like craft beer.
Nice, chilled out local pub. Relaxed. Plenty of space for walk ins. Great service. Good roast dinner...Plenty of gravy and decent Yorkshire pudding. Only thing Id say...could have had more meringue in the Eton mess. Wasnt much in there. Was mainly cream. Tasty still but just needed less cream/more meringue. Will go back!
We went here from the Olympic park about a15 min walk from the top of the park. Felt slightly disorganised and they had no bitters available. Sunday lunch was tasty and not bad value and the Yorkshire was massive. Staff were pleasent and not pushy also an interesting building being the old technical college.
Its my local and I love it. The building is great and old, Its really spacious and have fancy vintage sofas and armchairs. Also serves dinner until 10pm and have an outside space with benches for smokers. Beers are average London prices and theres a good selection. It hosts many live performances from music to comedy and a Wednesday pub quiz as well. I like to go there and read a book in peace but its a good place to meet new people as well. Staff is really friendly and available (:
Very impressive place for anyone who wants to have dinner with drinks at the venue. Very friendly place to meet the local people and those who live further away. For the people who enjoy watching the World Cup in front of the giant screen, the place generate incredible atmosphere. Unforgettable experience watching England matches.
Old fashioned style pub with rooms that can be booked for functions. Situated conveniently on main road in Leyton.
Good ambiance when you walk in. Feels like you are transported back a hundred years! Whether thats what you like or not is another matter. Service was good and prices are competitive however the bar staff used their hands to touch my sugar cube which was a bit nasty. Otherwise a pleasant experience.
Friendly atmosphere, good selection of craft beers and ales served in an interesting old building. Food is good too. Oh, and entertaining live acts. Would get 5 if they trained a cocktail maker.
Great Pub. Limited opening but once it start its fabulous. Lovely staff, very friendly & efficient. We booked a room for a birthday party gathering ordering food & drinks as we went along. Love the shabby chic but actually authentic surroundings. Just discovered my Father-in-law went here when it really was a Technical College & went on to be the Director of the Science Museum. Leyton rocks.
Wonderful Oasis - great food and atmosphere. Staff are great - totally recommended.
By far the best pub experience in Leyton!!! Great interior and very spacious with several rooms to choose from. Good selection of beers and nice wines. The food is also yummy with a small selection of tasty dishes around 10 quid per dish. Open till late on aFridays and Saturdays and good mix of regular events. I keep on coming back! The staff are friendly and overall vibe is really positive.
Lovely staff set Ina beautiful grandios older building filled with mid century furniture. We both had the burger, due to googlee Lawrences rave reviews of it being the best burger he had ever had. It was underwhelming and they could have done with better burger meat (see photos attached)- the bun was good and so was the slaw which is why I have awarded 4 stars( the extra points came from the very nice staff)
Went last night and the venue is great. From the decor, furniture, layout of mini rooms and variety of beers makes it 4 stars. However, for me what made it 5 stars was the staff. They really go the extra mile in service and the cute bar lady had the 5 star smile along with sufficient knowledge of her products. Probably the best pub Ive been to for a while. Thanks keep it going and make Gamma Ray beer on tap forever!
Really outstanding selection of real ales and some excellent food too. Stumbled across this quirky pub.Been twice now. Beer excellently conditioned and second time I stayed for food. Very good, if a tad pricey.
I really like this place. Ive only gone there alone for dinner when working in London and they were fine with giving me a table and the service was good. Great gourmet pub food and a nice atmosphere. They have live music often. Conveniently located for a stop on the home from the Leyton tube station.
Were moving into the area and Im super happy this pub is just up the road. The foyer & rooms of the old town hall makes for an impressive setting, with plenty of space to sit on couches or at dining tables. Theres a decent selection of beer and nice wines and the menu was good pub fare. Service was friendly & helpful. Looking forward to being a repeat offender of the main size macncheese.
I loved this pub and will certainly be returning! It is inside the old Town Hall and the building is full of character! I loved the way it has been done up and the furnishings used. Drinks were reasonably priced and the food (I had the beef burgerwas very good quality and delicious. Staff were very friendly and attentive!
