1084 Rue Saint-Jean, Québec, QC G1R 1S4, Canada, Quebec
Industrial-chic eatery with gourmet burgers & other bistro fare, plus house-roasted java & a bar.
We stopped in here and grabbed a glass of wine with their burger and mini poutine and it was delicious. Flavoured with maple (which normally wouldn’t be my pickbut the maple was mild and spicy - awesome combo! Service was great and friendly while the style of the restaurant was modern and enjoyable. Great spot for dinner or a little break to enjoy the scenery!
Very fine staff. My Quebec burger was delicious as was my wifes Asian salad. Very nice ambience with the exposed brick and stone.
They were able to accommodate us with a full house and no reservation. The poutine, the burger and the onion rings were delicious. We got some mock tail Moscow mule which was on point
Strongly recommend this place! Despite going at a busy time they took amazing care of us (definitely make a reservation ahead of time if you can). The waiter was funny and friendly and gave us the best recommendations stating he had the Quebec Burger four times a week. We tried both the Quebec Burger (how could we notand the salmon tartare and they were both FANTASTIC! The prices were very reasonable, the staff friendly, and the location was marvellous. Definitely stop by if you can!
So disappointed in this place. This is the first time I have ever had a gravy with beer in it. I have a severe alcohol intolerance and it took a few bites until I started to feel strange. This should have been clearly noted in the ingredients of the poutine. I asked for the waiter to clarify and he confirmed that it is red beer they use, so I just asked for a replacement with regular fries. When the bill came, I was still charged the extra 5 dollars for the poutine and when I asked the waiter about it, he said its because "half was eaten". I had taken 3 bites out of it before truly realizing something was off. I am not one to complain about my food unless something is really wrong so I had been trying to give it a chance. Anyway, I decided that I would not be tipping for this issue that happened because I felt it was a direct insult to me that I was somehow trying to cheat here or something. The waited pointed out that I did not tip when printing the bill. He proceeded to verbally harass me by saying that he will not get paid if I dont tip. When I decided to tip him 5 dollars so as not to make a scene, he proceeded to harass me again by stating that he needs his full 10 dollar tip as this is the law here. I just paid him what he wanted because I did not want more of a scene made and left. I did some research afterwards and came to see that this is not in fact the law in Quebec and that he simply took advantage of the fact that I am not a local by playing this card. Extremely disappointing and would not recommend this place to anybody. I can see now why this restaurant was one of the only places in the city tonight that was not fully booked. Stay far away.
Lovely place on Rue Saint Jean! I liked that the street is pedestrian only. The large latte that came in a bowl, was decorated with a hot air ballon. It was delicious! My Trois Garçon omelette was filled with carmelized onions, artisanal bacon and cheese curds which was a unique combination of flavors. The multi-grain bread was also a good choice. The service was very good!
Just amazing! The best fries I’ve ever try! Burgers and entrees are also great. Ask for the shrimp and chips with guacamole. The staff is super nice!
Went for brunch and got the regular eggs benedict and the breakfast poutine, both were great! The homemade jam is really good and our server was very nice!
Delicious food that I went twice the same say! Lunch and Dinner...excellent and friendly service. Highly recommended
Great atmosphere, attentive staff to food sensitivities, gluten free options available. No dairy free options available but can take off the dairy/ egg. Everything was great, but I’d recommend more salt/ pepper and seasoning for the potatoes. Would come back for sure.
Great atmosphere in the heart of the old city Quebec. The local source maple syrup is fantastic! Another great item is the home made strawberry topping for the crepes. I had breakfast at the bar because the place was so busy. I will absolutely go back.
Wish more stars were available for this delightful establishment. The service was fantastic. Promptly seated, cold water, the poutine was excellent as we the rest of the entrees at the table.
Busy restaurant. Decor was nice and the burgers werent bad, but the Salmon Tartar was a bit on the creamy side. Located close to our hotel it was convenient for our first dinner in Quebec City after a day of driving.
Went there for breakfast, great price quality for the area! Big choice of breakfast options. Food came in quite fast, presented nicely and tasted great. Good service.
Very solid burger choices, with a broad array of taps. Great crowd watching opportunities but recommended a reservation lest waiting in line at a popular spot on St Jean.
We enjoyed our evening sitting on the terrace of les trois garcons. The cider drink was very good and service was immaculate. The food couldve been better though. The chilli poutine didnt have much taste to it
I ordered Tartare de saumon. The salad was fresh, crunchy and a bit tangy. I enjoyed the overall experience except the lengthy wait time.
We love eating out at Québec City because the food is amazing. We always believe that Québec restaurants offers the best food and service! Even simple food items in the hands of Québécois become delicious, out of this world dishes ! One reason we keep coming back here is great quality food! Today at this restaurant we had our first bad experience. We ordered a hamburger and fish and chips. Both of us were disappointed with the low quality of our food. The waitress was q nice girl but she forgot the details of our order so we had to call and request for what wasn’t delivered! We love Québec and will come back again but not to this place.
Disappointed! Ordered the poutine and it was dry and not warm enough for the cheese to have melted. I’ve had much better poutine at a chip truck! We felt rushed to finish our meal so they could close the place by 9pm. Way overpriced, I will never go back.
How this restaurant got 4 stars is shocking. The restaurant smells dirty, service was mediocre and the food terrible. The signature poutine was lukewarm, which means the cheese didn’t melt. Just terrible. And overpriced. So many other options around to pick this place. Don’t eat here.
Called to reserve a table and was told there are no available table.. headed to the area anyway and while walking by noticed that there are many empty tables. When asked at the door got a table right away... weird. Had the realy good burger that Changed my rating from 3 to 4 stars. The service was not pleasant but pretty efficient.
Chicken breast was cooked perfectly, salad was fresh and tasty. Husbands burger was a tad overdone, but both our sandwiches had delectable, artisan bacon! Our server was lovely and had a good sense of humor.Sunday, 25th of July. 12:15
Just sat down, and I had to post a review of the fast, professional service and this amazing Caesar! Yum
I value service almost equally as the food in restaurants like this, and they delivered it. From a drink recommendation to local information, my server did a wonderful job trying to get to know me a bit (which means a lot when I solo traveland recommend what she thought I might like. And not to mention, their salmon burger was excellent. This restaurant was actually recommended by a staff member at the hotel I am staying at. Locals always know what’s best.
The staff were very courteous. The ambience is amazing. Went for some cocktails and the veggie burger, along with fish and chips. Happy with the meal. The crème brûlée was very nice.
Fast service. Must try pork rib, fish and chips and chocolat mousse. Affordable price. Good location in la route pietonne.
My husband and I visited this restaurant for supper last week. It was our second time eating at this restaurant (the previous visit was in Oct 2021). We each had burgers which were good but the fries were overdone. We had previously had nachos and their fish and chips which were a bit disappointing - I wasn’t fond of their batter. A cool look and quite a busy spot, I don’t think this place is a good fit for us
Perfect for a warm night. The city blocked off the road to traffic, so the patio spills out into the streets. The food looked standard, but one bite of the Quebec burger (bacon jam!sold me. Sangria also seems to be a hit with other patrons. Price point was good - solid value for the money.
Got the Quebec Burger with small poutine, both were great! 👍
I went there for the first time yesterday and I loved everything about it! The atmosphere, the A+ staff, dont get me started with those onion rings - delicious! Our server was Lisa and I was extremely pleased with her service. We will definitely be coming back in the future.
After being unable to find a place for dinner, my friends and I, visiting for spring break from Montreal, stumbled across Les Trois Garçons on a dark, frigid afternoon. We entered and were immediately impressed by just about everything. The friendly, chic ambiance and enchanting service was paradisal. And of course, the 2014 throwback playlist was perfect. But the food — I can’t even begin to describe it… The veritable symphony of flavours and textures and aromas that danced and pranced across my tongue as I bit into the wholly ineffable ‘Québec burger’. Ultimately, as an American, it’s a LOT to say this—but it was without even a morsel of doubt the BEST burger I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Needless to say, it made my day. My week, even. I left with a smile on my face. Despite the pleading of my friends, I was too embarrassed to go to the kitchen and voice my delight to the chefs, so they spoke for me. Later, a total coincidence, we met the chef’s lovely daughter and her friend, and with them we passed a night for the ages. I hope to soon return to Québec City for this great burger and this great restaurant.
Service and food were excellent! The breakfast here is great, we are English speakers, and staff was very friendly and accommodating. The eggs Benedict was great, and the omelettes as well. Was able to get a table without any wait when we showed up.
Nachos were awesome, grilled goat cheese salad with caramelized onions was over-the-top. Poutine was a huge hit too. Friendly and courteous staff. Would definitely go back.
Great place to go for a great burger in old Quebec. It was hard to find many options that server gluten free options in this area but why were able to accommodate me. My partner and I both got the original because the waiter told us it was the best burger he ever tried and he did not lie. Although the burger seems very plain in writing, it tastes amazing!!! The meat was very tender-but not raw-, the bun was crispy and you can taste the cheese. My partner got a poutine for his side which was a good size and he says was amazing- I couldn’t try it because their gravy is not gluten free. I got fries for my side with maple and rosemary mayo. The mayo was so unique yet delicious, I would recommend it to anybody that goes to trois garçon, it is worth the try. Thé only issue we had was some of the seating is so close that you could hear details of other peoples conversations and I am the type of person that prefers a little bit of privacy.
Went here twice on my stay in Quebec City. They offer a traditional breakfast for around $11 a plate, which is very affordable. The atmosphere is nice and the restaurant is clean and up to date. I would recommend breakfast around 8am as it starts to get busy around 9am.Service was excellent. Our server was Lisa and she remembered us from our previous visit the day before. Service was fast and all the food was excellent! Lisa really made our experience wonderful.Highly recommend breakfast here!
Very nice ambiance, and good customer service at this restaurant.I had the Inter-travailleur burger, and it was phenomenal.
Had the poutine and the original burger. The poutine was good but huge. The burger was very fresh and delicious. I would recommend getting a side of poutine with your burger because the appetizer plus a main meal was too much!
Great food. Got there before 6 for Happy Hour and had mini pouting (photo), guacamole and chips, and Asian salad for dinner. Large portions all around.
Wait time was incredibly long for incredibly mediocre food. Who uses rye bread in French toast????? I do not need to feel the corn flour bits as I’m eating it. Also rye bread is not the best at absorbing and retaining moisture resulting in dry French toast. If you need maple syrup to make a dish palatable, we have a problem. 10/10 would recommend they get a new chef.
The staff was great, very friendly. We had a great entrée (melted brie). The burgers were OK, but not outstanding. Would come back to try other dishes
Awesome breakfast menu especially The Gardener Egg Omelet and Egg Benedict’s with Mushrooms. People looking for Halal options, those are perfect for them as well. Really nice staffs and environment. And you will get a nice post card.
FANTASTIC burgers! The onion rings and cheese curds on the burger (aswell as additional cheddarmade it really flavorful!A bit let down by the poutine, was hoping for a traditional gravy but it was something completely different. Our server was very nice
We had a great mid day meal here. We split a inter-travailleur burger which was so so good, we now wish we hadnt split! The poutine was good and the creme brulee was terrific. Service was good and beer enjoyable. We definitely recommend.
**2018-update : 1 more Star for Working hard on that menu.** This is a very touristic place. Food isnt bad but they really need to work on their stuff. Dry beef patties w/o any kind of spices in it. Its not a bad place for a burger but the quality/price isnt at its best. Wish for more constance.
Their burgers were incredible with an amazing combination of meat and cheese. I dont normally enjoy a sharp cheese, but the taste blended incredibly well.Cheesecake was a nice surprise. Light while still incredibly flavorful.
Great restaurant with amazing food. We got the chilly as an appetizer and the Tartar and Chicken Nachos for our main meal. Everything was delicious!! Prices were fair as well. The atmosphere is great. There are 2 floors and we were at the top. Nice view of the main road.
This was where I had my first Poutine and I didnt like it. Normal fries, gravy and cheese blocks. The burger was nothing but ordinary. Experienced a good service tho! Food was served quickly, ambience was nice (tho we got seated in a crowded area).. wished there was a coat hanger.
The food here is excellent and particularly, the burgers are fabulous. They come with fries and you have options to get flavours of mayonnaise dipping sauces which are amazing. I also had an onion rings as an appetizer which were cut very thick and had a crunchy outside. Just be careful when you get them because the inside of the onion rings are extremely hot (I burnt my lips on the moisture inside).
Food was good and so was the Black Velvet drink (an Irish Stout layered with cider). For my meal I had something similar to chopped steak, it had peas, some type of sauce, pieces of bacon, and these onion pieces that remind me of Frenchs fried onions. Poutine wasnt bad either, was a bit bland but now I can say Ive had official poutine. They do get rather busy as most places seem to be during the holiday. So I would say expect a short wait.
Delicious burgers. I am a burger connoisseur, so I must try it everywhere I go. This this place had one of the most delicious burgers I have tried. My wife who eats a burger once a year, loved the patty! Its fresh and flavourful. Highly recommended when visiting Quebec City.
