Bustling spot for tapas, paella & other Catalonian classics, with outdoor tables on the Placa Reial.
Outside of the restaurant there is always line of waiting people, prices are reasonable, but be careful - Inside the atmosphere is not so romantic. Not a pleasant smell in some parts, damaged wood aroun the windows. Definitely do not go inside.
Don’t remember giving 1 star -this time no time. Sangria tastes like vinegar, ordered 4 dishes 1 good 1 acceptable 2 greasy cold and without care for food. Sad ,
Nice place, good food and a fast service. Its pretty crowded here.
Average, would not recommend. Looks like a restaurant of high standing but the service and food are beyond average. The English translation on the menu needs to be addressed and amended: I ordered guacamole with pancakes and got served doritos with homemade guacamole 😂 I then got the Thai curry but it was tasteless but the meat was verry good. The issue is that they offer dishes from various cuisines but cant really master any of the dishes. I think they should focus on Spanish cuisine as the restaurant is situated in a very touristic location. But we had a good time so thats all really matter 🙂
The chicken was much to salty, the confi of duck was tasty but small and the potatoes which came with it tasted like they were a week old. All in all extremely disappointing
Unbelievable lunch in an amazing courtyard. Don’t leave before eating the dessert!!
We had the paella and I have never seen paella come out looking dried up and dark brown. It tasted very dry and had no flavour so we sent it back.
Busy restaurant but luckily we were able to get a table of two without a reservation. Service was slow- we had to call the server over multiple times to order food or more drinks or the check. Tapas were great. Meat and seafood paella was not. Seafood was good but the paella lacked flavor. Highly reccomend the duck confit.
The best spot in La Plaza Reial. We order the mixed paella and enjoyed a couple of great sangrias. Finished off with Tim baon for dessert, a most have. The service was wonderful too.
I have Cad which was perfect. Good wine. I forgot to take pictures of my desert which was gorgeous and delicious. Go and try it in Barcelona.
Cheap and delicious in the middle of plaza real
Sad to say I didnt like any of the food. Patatas bravas were sort of like reheated potato slices. Tagliatelle was simply awful and bland. I only picked couple of mushrooms, cheese and what looked like 2 small pieces of asparagus and left the rest. Couldnt eat the cream catalana either. Bill was higher then most of places I enjoyed food at. I guess you gamble if you want to eat at the Plaça.
Food was good but the service is taking way too long. Even some body Who looks like the manager wouldnt come to our table.
Unfriendly, unorganised and just plainly incompetent. Fortunately, there are a lot of „dumb“ tourists that can fall into this trap, because i doubt that people visit this restaurant more than once.Never again. And please be better than me and don‘t give these people your money.
We were trying to look for local food and saw this place, super cute had a lot of people but we were very disappointed with the food. We couldn’t eat what we ordered in the picture(eggplant with crispy quinoait did not taste good and all the other dishes were not tasty either. I would not recommend
Perfect place in the middle of Barcelona. Very high value for money. Vegetarian options, low carb and healthy and other great tapas.
Honestly over-hyped. Paella tasted and smelled fishy. Cheesecake was pretty good. If youre looking for decent food at a good price, youve found it.
The best restaurant on Rambla. With less than 60€ we (2 pplenjoyed a full lunch with starters, main course and desert, along with a sangria, each. The dishes are very clean also. The tablecloth is changed after each client. And the taste, oh the taste; just do it! Have no doubts about it!
It took more than an hour to prepare an uncooked meal. The paella is really small for two people and they dont allow you to have a portion just for you. In general, the amount of food is not worth the prices.
Very nice location. The place is beautiful and staff are super friendly and the food is delicious.Jessa took good care of our table. Indeed Recommended
alongside a small busy plaza with offering paella that’s delicious and price worthy
Delicious! Great food, everyone in our group was very happy. My carpaccio was amazing. Very friendly and attentive staff, and their location on a beautiful open plaza in Barcelonas Gothic Quarter is perfect.
I was really surprised! We choose this place spontaneous and didnt expected that food will be so good. Thank you for nice evening! :)
The food is not terrible but in Barcelona there are plenty of restaurants that you can find on any street with better food and service than here and cheaper. Literally none of the servers smile at all. Such a pity because we were really looking forward to this meal.
The staff was friendly but it took some time to get service. We took seafood and meat paella, the paella was very brown and not like the traditional yellow coloured ones. A bit dissapointed. Dessert was ok but nothing special.
Ate here for dinner and there was a decent line but we got seated earlier with a big group. This place is in a tourist heavy area so the line makes sense. We got several seafood paellas and they were pretty good and tasty. The service wasn’t the best but it ended up being a good time
It was the worst place. I ordered a cheeseburger, well done, but got raw meat. When I pointed it out, the waiter said that they could fix it but then he went away. Came back 20 min later but by then I already finished eating the disgusting handmade chips and the salad. Dont come here! Spend that money somewhere else
Very affordable for La Rambla area and the food was great! We came back twice! Forgot to take photos of our food. We had guacamole and the meat and seafood Paella with Sangria.
Plaça Reial is a stunning place, the food is fine, the portions are a bit small and pricy, but the main problem is the service. We waited for more than an hour to get the main course. There are many nice restaurants over there, so if you dont want to waste your time, sit somewhere else.
This is ridiculous, you have at least 10 tables available and you tell me that only if I have lunch I can get drinks, otherwise you don’t serve just drinks. YOU HAVE THE TERRACE ALMOST EMPTY, are you for real? Look how many empty tables! BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE
We enjoyed a nice breakfast at this café overlooking Placa Reial. The service was fast and our food was tasty.
First of all, Id like to say that I dont like people who just criticize everything. But this restaurant is really not good. We ordered the Meat and seafood paella. So we thought it was gonna be 50-50. Well, the seafood was good with the rice. But the meat was just bones and SAUSAGES!!! Thats not meat for me. Also, the waiter is not very friendly. We wanted to sit through the cold and he didnt even bother to ask if we wanted help. I figured since the restaurant looked so prestigious, it would be. But I guess its not.
Overpriced dishes for tourists. The duck was dry, the "premium" beef cut was very bland, small and served with fast food french fries, which ironically were the best part of this meal.Service was very slow and not the warmest.
I had the Mr.Entrecote menu with Penne Bolongese and as desert I had the warm cheesecake. The food was good, however the Penne could have been a little warmer and I could have done with a little less salt on the meat. The entrecote was cooked very nicely. I had to ask for the sauces for the french fries that were served with the entrecote, which for some reason took quite a while. The staff is friendly, but seem very rushed. The restaurant is located on a little square that has a good atmosphere right next to La Ramblas. The price for the menu is quite nice for what you get, €21,50 (including the €3,00 charge for entrecote, but excluding the 10% terras charge). Overall its a nice place to eat and isnt too expensive.
I celebrated my wedding yesterday there. Service was SUPERB. The waitress name was Olga and she was extremely helpful and very nice. Food was delicious specially the chicken finger with curry. Wine was also great and the desserts were so good. I recommend the flan.
Great staff and service with delicious food and drinks! We popped in on a Saturday night at 11 and we were still seated immediately and the experience was great
Delicious food, the tuna tartare was incredible, so was the penne bolognese and the cava. The cream la Catalonia wasnt quite what we expected but still good. The service was fast and professional, and the view of the plaza of course amazing.Worth to note is the 10% service tax and the 10% terrace tax. We ended up paying 60€ for 2 menu courses with starters, main and desert, including water and two glasses of cava bubbling wine.
This restaurant is a must-go in Barcelona. The service is perfect, the food cheap and tasty. You can find all the Spanish cuisine for around 12€. Don’t forget to take the Sangria ( it is amaaaaazing).
We were sat outside in March with many space heaters around us. We asked twice for the space heaters to be lit as it was very cold, we were all wearing coats, and they ignored our requests! So we decided to take matters into our own hands, being experienced with butane burners. The head waitress came running over, the first time she had paid us any attention, and told us in a most unpleasant and abrupt tone that they would sort it out.30 minutes later we are still waiting for them to light the burners.Customer service zero.EDIT - just before desert they lit the heaters and they made all the difference. Why they couldn’t have done that from the time of the starter it’s anyone’s guess. In their favour the food was excellent, unless you were vegetarian. The waitress, who was serving multiple tables was a real sweetheart. I hope she is rewarded for her pleasant demeanour and attentiveness.
Had 2 dinners here. Very nice staff, very tasty food. The place looks fancy, clean but despite this the prices are more then affordable. The staff speak English. The location is excellent, next to the famous Las Rambla, and the marina is less the 10 mins walk away.
Last year we traveled to Barcelona in May 2019. While visiting the gothic quarter we stopped at the restaurant Les Quince Nit for lunch. This is located at La Plaça Real. The atmosphere is wonderful. Staff is very friendly and the location is very clean. I had the Dados de Salmon and my family ordered Paella Mixta. Both were delicious. My wife had the Tinto de Verano to drink and I had a glass of Rioja Sancho Garcés. Hmmmmm. Que rico!!! Todo estuvo excelente.
Frankly speaking, not really sure if the food here were the best in BarcelonaBut compared to the price & portion as well as the atmosphere of this place, I can say that it’s one of the best restaurants in BarcelonaIf you going during the lunchtime, you’ll be able to enjoy a full set of great portion with affordable price!
Great seafood paella and nice dessert with creme brulee. We had to wait about 30 minutes for paella. The place was nice, not too crowded on monday evening. However, waiters didnt speak a lot actually, they were friendly enough but the service wasnt the best you can get for that price. Not the cheapest place in Barcelona but in a great location. Our meal was nice so I recommend it
Location is great. Lovely atmosphere in the square. Food was delicious, we had the lamb shank. Prices are reasobable. There can be a que for a table but it moves pretty quickly. Would highly recommend. One of the best meals we had while visiting barcelona.
Here it is, you’re going to think, the Italian who knows everything.Well I don’t know everything but I know what I did eat here.Service is probably the most quality things around here. The guy who served us was polite and fast and he happily accomodate our request. We ordered the menu for 22€ and for that price I expect some kind of quality. But we got much more less.Gazpacho was very fresh, nice taste and thick enough.Carpaccio di vitello as well, even though maybe the portion was little. But then...oh gosh the rice! I can totally understand they cannot cook rice as the customer orders (it would take too much to be ready, for all customers ordering the dishbut gee, that was over-cooked, taste of fish broth and nothing like a paella.Again, I totally understand that for 22€ we couldn’t ask a three-star Michelin rice, but please not all tourist haven’t had a paella yet in their life. And then, to greatly conclude our dinner, the desserts.Well, are we in Catalunya, right? Why the hell the don’t know how to prepare a eatable catalunya cream-Crema Catalana!?We totally left it for the cats in the back of the kitchen.Come on guys, you can do better. My chocolate truffle were tasty, fair enough.Nothing to say about the 10% more for outside table, but please! The Catalana!Service: 7Food: 5Dessert: 3
Sat on the outside tables overlooking Placa Reial, and it was a superb place to have breakfast on a Saturday morning, watching the Artisan markets being set up.Not a place for large full English breakfasts, but me and my wife wanted something smaller, and this place fitted the bill.Healthy options, smoothies, eggs, coffee and cakes.Service did seem fairly slow but weve been in Barcelona for a couple of days now and to be honest I think thats fairly common. A pretty laid back city.
Located at the heart of Placa Reial, this is a buzzing restaurant serving Catalonian dishes. We ordered a range of tapas dishes along with some sangria which was perfect. The staff were very nice and took care of us very well. The dishes were large compared to the counterparts served by other restaurants in the vicinity and is well worth the price you pay.
Service was great, views and restaurants was great. But food was overrated. But good value, we had a special dinner menu, 2 appies 1 gaint seafood rice, and 2 desert plus red wine for around $50 EUR.
Fall in love with Catalonian cuisine. The monkfish stew brilliant generous portion for 2. Fresh baby octopus entree went well with the carrot and orange soup. The waiters were polite and service was excellent. Must try when you are around La Rambla area checking out Gaudi"s gas lamps in Plaza Real.
Everything was so bland... such a shame because the location is the best!!We ordered some swordfish, squid, cod and a salad.1. I can understand why the salad doesn’t have any sauce but the swordfish was a disappointment. It was unseasoned, dry (probably overcooked?and the potion was small.2.The cod was OK, nothing spectacular.3. The squid was not bad but for 10€ i expected more than 3 small squids on my plate.2 stars are only for the staffs and location!!!
