My first time doing this hike, but most definitely not my last! Absolutely stunning trail. The sound of the birds, running river and then the gorgeous waterfalls - simply a pleasure for any nature lover. ❤️ The scenery is SPECTACULAR! 👌👍There are some rocky areas to manouver; you have to cross the river three times and there are a couple of log ladders to climb - so Id say one should be reasonably fit & able to thoroughly enjoy this one.We encountered some Baboons on our way back and although they were a sight to behold (especially the babies), they are scary and dangerous so please take care. We had to wait patiently for about 15 minutes for them to move on. 🐒🐵(closest emoji I could get lol)Harold Porter Botanical Gardens are beautifully maintained and well worth a trip when visiting Bettys Bay. 🌼

You have to go to the Harold Porter Botanical garden to get access to the waterfall. The garden itself is beautiful and well worth visiting. Make sure to get there early or book a key for the gate the previous day. You follow the picturesque trail up to the point where you have to unlock the gate for the trail that leads to the waterfall. Make sure you take water, wear sunblock and a hat. There are places where you have to climb up and down ladders.Because it was raining a lot, everywhere we had to cross the stream we had to get into the water. There are too many places where you have to cross so, we just left our shoes on and walked with wet shoes. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes. The trail is challenging but at least not too far. I suggest you take some type of walking stick with. It just helps so much when you have to cross the stream/river and for going over the rocks etc.

Not the best hike for avid hikers but a good excursion nonetheless within the area. No swimming and water wasnt 100% free flowing- feb 2021.

Located at the botanical garden is this beautiful waterfall. You have to get the key from the reception before 1:30pm to open the gate to the waterfall, that is really important because they’re kind of strict to give the key after the time. After a short hike you can visit different small waterfalls with pools and on top there is the biggest waterfall it is soooo idyllic and calm. But be careful there can be snakes, leopards and monkeys around so keep watching. And it is not possible to go for a swim, but it’s definitely worth to visit.

Majestic, beautiful, amazing place to hike. Our family really enjoyed the day hike. Not too tough but stunning to hear the waterfalls in the back ground. Some areas are still in need of some repair after the massive fire, but thats to be expected. Take note that there are areas that need care and for a hiker to be vigilant until the repairs are done. But other than that we really enjoyed our day

Dont come here. If you do, be sure to gratuitously donate to the garden. And dont pack your swimming costume.

Beautiful walk. First part still showing signs of the fire but lush deeper into the kloof. Less than 2 km either way with a few steps and ladders. Waterfall at the end well worth it. Remember to get key from reception.

We visited Harald Porter to experience the amazing Leopards Kloof Waterfalls. It was challenging, no time to be afraid of height. You need firm shoes, hikers with no anckle, knee or hip injuries can enjoy this hiking route. Around about 1h44 minutes, elavation gain of 168m including the Finebos trail.

Beautiful Afromontane forest within the gorge. Well marked path that does require some rock-hopping over the river crossings. Steep climb to the various cascade levels, but the effort is rewarded with spectacular waterfalls and trees.

Brilliant walk, beautiful nature and fynbos that takes the breath away. So sad that it was damaged by the recent fires, but the fynbos will recover to take on a fresh new splendour!

This is a short hike that starts at the Harold Porter Botanical Garden. It is a nice easy hike for an elderly but fit person or children has some wooden ladders to climb but saw older people navigate them with ease. Harold porter also has a restaurant and ablution facilities. They also have a nursery that sells indigenous plant that are very well priced. You not allowed to swim in the pools and you pay an entrance fee and need to get a key to the trail that you are refunded if you return the key. I didnt pay for entrance fee. So cant tell you the cost .

Oh this place is like Heaven on Earth! Talk about tranquil. Would recommend anyone to go and see those beautiful waterfalls. Quite a hike tho, so if you have small kids, ud have to reconsider as there are ladders that need to be climbed and little rivers to cross. Beautiful gardens to have a picnic in. Be aware of the baboons, theyre beautiful and keep their distance if you keep yours. Best to go a few days after some good rain, the waterfalls will be fuller.

This very scenic trail takes you from the gardens into the Kloof ending at the waterfall. It is an easy trail that is approximately 1.5km (one wayending in a few ladders to climb at the end to reach the waterfall. Ensure to get the key to the gate at reception for a refundable deposit of R50 (at the time of the posting). No toilets are available on this trail.

Magical spot whether one approaches from Harold Porter or from Kogelberg. But does need a car at each end to do the one way Kogelberg to Harold Porter. Or arrange a taxi from Kleinmond.

What an enjoyable hike up to the three levels of waterfalls. It is a must do attraction in Bettys BayIt is the second time I have done itIt is not recommended for small children and unfit adults as there is climbing, water crossings and ladders as part of the hikeAll well worth it and make sure you continue to the end.Access to the kloof is limited and you need to gain access before 13h30, pay of deposit at the entrance for the key

This waterfall is in the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens in Bettys Bay. There is an entrance fee if R25 for adults and R15 for students. if you have a Kirstenbosch membership then you can use this. After the recent rains in April the waterfalls are stunning and the surrounds are kept very clean. There are baboons in the area - Please dont feed them. The walk is beautiful and there are sone streams to cross and as you get closer to the falls there are some wooden ladders to get to the top. Wear hiking boots or similar shoes.

So Beautiful and tranquil. Found the reserve to be very well kept. Had such an amazing hike.It was just very disturbing how many people have a total disregard for the rules of the reserve and no respect or appreciation for the nature around them.

This is a small waterfall with a stunning dark pool at the base. The walk there is relatively easy and short and is serious bang for your buck, traversing gorgeous afro-montane forests. The beauty is difficult to describe.Permit required to hike (available from Harold Porter Gardens entranceand unfortunately no swimming in the river allowed.

A 1.5 km trail through fynbos vegetation, some stream crossings and a forest with a climb up a few ladders will take you from the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens entrance to the bottom of the magnificent Leopards Kloof Waterfall. An incredible, towering waterfall with a spectacular mountain pool at the end of a short hike into the Leopards Kloof.
