Contemporary art museum in a notable, waterside building, lit at night & housing a wide collection.
A few good works of art, although most of the museums greatest treasures were returned to the heirs of their original owners (which WAS the right thing to doMy favorite work was by Marianne Werefkin (photo attached)
Good and interesting collection of modern and contemporary art, emphasis on austrian, german artists, but several important internationals as well. Temporary exhibitions often add innovative present-day aspects.
Take a step
Good
Some good artworks from 1920-30s, great building but as most modern art of our time is hard to understand and and enjoy
New years eve.. amazing. Now coming summer (update)
Great experience and view of art.
Beautiful museum in a building that is a piece of art in itself. A must see
I liked the permanent exhibition, some good modern art prices.
Interesting collection of mostly modern art.
Wonderful place with a splendid collection!
The public toilet there is kinda nasty, but hey its there so thats good
A modern art museum near the Hauptplatz on the banks of the Danube. This museum has some impressive modern art. It doesn’t compare to the great museums of Vienna, but it is still impressive and worth seeing if you enjoy modern art. The setting is stunning also, and the building is quite beautiful at night as it is lit up against the water.
Visited here during the LINZ carnival, enjoyed every bit of it
Some beautiful pieces in a stunning building and at a reasonable price.but wow, you need to get a new person on your the ticket office. She was rude, staring at us the whole time we looked around and spoke to us in a genuinely rude manner.
Great museum of modern art. With classics like Klimt, Schiele, and Kokoschka, and some fascinating new works as well.
Very nice modern art museum in a convenient location right by the city centre. The main collection is small but has some interesting pieces. Regular exhibitions, some of which are excellent. Worth an hour of your time at least!
Great place 8 euro ticket
Not that interesting unless you are an art fan.
Nice museum beside the river
Beautiful building and a challenging collection of art.
Excellent museum, understanding Germany would be helpful, very helpful staff, nice to see Austrian and German artists that I wasnt familiar with, but were never the less exquisite, not overly pricey, all in all a good day
Our favourite part is Saturday workshop for kids. Just started to visit the museum and looking forward to new exhibitions.
This place was beyond amazing 😍
Currently there is a special offer during summer where families can enter for free. So far so good. However, the lady museum attendant obviously thought this a very bad idea. She kept breathing down our necks, with a constant expression of disapproval on her face. Theres a room where everyone can draw on the walls, but she kept a very close eye on us, even didnt want the kids to move the cardboard stools around. And heaven forbid, open them up. She clearly considered everything in the museum to be her personal property. She made this a very unpleasant experience for us as a family.Related to the exhibition: The current retrospective on Otto Zitko is a bad joke. Normally I appreciate modern art, but this is neither skilful, inspiring, surprising or any of the other attributes one would associate with art. It literally is huge crayon scrawlings, very much like what my kids did when they were two years old.
Really worth seeing!
Pretty nice coffee here
Very nice. Appreciated the creative display for the current temporary exhibit.
Modern and ancient art museum.
Morden art museum, not too big , if you come Linz, then you can take a look.
Awesome place to go and relax for 2 to 3 hrs.. You can take museum tour to explore the famous art gallery. One of the must place to visit in linz.

I loved it so much. If you are an artlover and you are in Linz definitely give it a try!
Good selection of paintings in the permanent collection
Lumminating in the evening, beautiful.
Good modern art museum; worth a visit if you are in the area.
Great museum with new art exhibition.
The food is delicious and the view is wonderful and the service is excellent, but there is something strange about the tables are reserved and they choose who’s sitting on it
Quote a unique collection of modern and conceptual art and photography
I was hoping to see more interesting works of Klimt.
Not the art style we were hoping for. They were also working on constructing a new area, which caused a lot of noise which kind of ruined the overall experience.
wonderful place, specifically at night when it is lit with lights, linz though quite small in area and population but best place to be there, many shops , eaterie around, neat and clean city, best thing is generosity and humanity in people of Linz and Austrian as general, must visit this place .
Excellent Klimt, Schiele & Moser exhibition
great museum, I liked the special about 5he stars very much
I was there today in the Klimt Schiele and Moser exhibition and i was pleasantly surprised on how it was presented. The staff was wonderfully helpful. But i would suggest to improve the lighting especially where the sketches were hung out.Furthermore i would like to compliment the exquisite coffeeshop across from the main entrance of the museum where i enjoyed a delicious chestnut mouse and ginger ale.I will return in for-seen future.
Small museum with good exhibits.
The building is super nice, but most of the exhibitions are not worth the entrance fee.
I really like only 1 drawing! And there is not much collection!
Great exhibitions and a free entry with the student ticket for public transport (aktivepass)
I dont know why is it called art museum even though it didnt seem like a museum to me! Check if theres an exhibition before you go.
