A 403-acre park of woodland, fields & rolling hills, plus many sports fields & 6 disc golf courses.
Beautiful park but $5 to park is an absolute ripoff
Beautiful park with many long scenic trails, a playground, and even a dog park. Highly recommend.
A nice place to walk, play and hangout with family, sad that I dont have any friends...They charge you $5 dollars if you live in Indiana and $7 if you live in Illinois. Why do you charge???But sometimes its free. The place is cool and clean, except sometimes people dont clean after themselves. You can bring your dog here too.The tennis fields are in bad condition.
Nice place, scenery & the picnic area was pleasant for birthday party
Nice park to have picnics at also to take dogs to or fly kites. Was at my granddaughters birthday party there.
Absolutely loved it my girlfriend & I take the kids here to walk the trails around the lake. Its peaceful and relaxing walking the trails.
We love visiting Lemon Lake. There is a paved trail that is stroller friendly (though a bit steep in one part). There are also unpaved paths through the woods, too. You can bring dogs as long as theyre leashed. There is a big playground, but its not well maintained - some areas of the play equipment is chipped and peeling.
They have no maps to take with you for the hiking trails just one on the outside of the gift shop. I really didnt want to get lost because its hundreds of acres I believe. I realized later I could have taken a picture with my phone and used that to guide me.
The following is a summary of some of the things I noticed during a recent visit. Most, if not all of the equipment has rust on it. The solution, the rust has been painted over. A childrens slide is cracked which can cause severe injury if used by a child. The volleyball court is unusable due to the amount of weeds growing in the sandbox. The paved walking trail has overgrown weeds and branches. Making things even more frustrating, is the $5.00 dollar fee each time if you enter by vehicle. By contrast, I visited a Michigan Park yesterday. The entry fee for the season is $17.00 for none-residents. Get it together Lake County Government officials! If this is the best you can do, shame on you!
There are multiple disc golf courses here, which makes it a disc golf fans dream, but I especially like the gold course. There is also the silver course that plays the same baskets but with alternate (shortertees. They are both very interesting to play with a good variety but generally pretty technical and some nice elevation in play.
Fun, lots of small bluegill for kids to catch
They have party areas set up where people play the Frisbee game /the 2 do not mix well. The guard wants you to write your name and show you live in the town or pay a price. (I didnt know that was a thing . There is a dog park . Bathrooms it was very clean
It was so nice going there it was so pretty and quiet we saw some people walking took the dog for a hike it was really nice
One of our favorite places, as long as the lady isnt there making you pay for parking
Nice clean park went there for a grad party very clean has a frisbee trail regular bathrooms
Lemon Lake County Park is such a fantastic place to stop at. The trails are safe and clean, and I have seen so many people having fun on the disc golf course. You do have to pay to get in, most of the time, ($5 for IN residents, $8 for non-residentsbut all of the admissions fees go back to the Lake County Parks and Rec.I am an avid Pokemon GO player (stillso my boyfriend and I love to come here on community days, or just to get out and enjoy the atmosphere. If you are from Lake County and have not gotten to go here yet, try to make the time to do so! So worth it!
amazing fishing spot to get out with your friends and family, lots of snags though
Such a beautiful park! Great for family photos!
The new blue layout for Disc Golf is 20 holes and it’s excellent.
Its very calm and beautiful at times and plenty of walking, and huge playsets
Nice park, has a designated area for dog walking, but people keep walking dogs on lake trail instead and leave poop on trail, and dont keep dogs away from people with allergies. You have your own area just for you, use it!!! Inconsiderate jerks, " but my dog is special and perfect"Update, now people are driving golf carts on walking trails. I think Ill just start driving truck on the trail too.
Good fishing for kidsAwesome playgroundIf u love frisbee golf this is the spot also
I love the natural world and Lemon Lake County Park never fails in fulfilling that love. The lake, its trails, the wildlife and the magnificent woods are a wonderful place to get lost and feed your soul.
I love this park with all its nature trails and habitats to observe. A place one can get away just to think or not.
Nice paved walking trail. Modern facilities. Dont like that they charge admission during summer. Dog area and several Frisbee golf courses. Great bird watching at the protected pond.
Beautiful trails but not worth $8.00 to walk them.
Lemon Lake is my backyard ever since I was a young kid,I could show people places in the woods, that are so crazy and Just so pretty to look at you would think your in Colorado or something!!If u bring weed much better!!
A Wonderful place to get away even in the snow, the dog park is always fun and if you like throwing frisbees its even funnier.
Beautiful place for our maternity pictures. We saw a lot of people playing games, walking, and generally having fun with family and friends. Only $5 to enter as an Indiana resident. Great deal for a well taken care of park.
Nice multicourse disc golf area. Good spot for an event or just go with the dog and kids.
Such a Beautiful Day! We had a family reunion day and everything was perfect!!!
Lots of things to do. Great Frisbee golf courses. Awesome dog run with tons of space for them to run. Lots of open spaces to enjoy nature.
Great park has a wonderful fenced in dog run
Fun place good for walks and disc golf. Fishing is meh Ive heard it was a good place to fish but i think many people catch and take home which i dont understand why. Im lucky if i catch a fish in a 3 hour stay
Been taking the fam here for over 20 years! Awesome play ground, trails are the bestest, lol, and frisbee golf trails are the bomb! Many places to rent for gatherings, too.Plus, they have a dog park to let them fur-babies run off some energy!Epic! I advise getting the annual pass. Its good for the attire year, @ all state parks! Or $5 for Indiana residents. $8 outta state, I believe. Dont quote me,,,lol
The whole park is solely devoted to disc golf. If youre expecting a peaceful walk in the woods, be prepared to run into these concrete slabs, disc baskets, blue garbage cans and signs. They are everywhere. For a tranquil nature hike without these distractions, head over to Stoney Run a few miles away in Hebron.
I would give it a 5 star rating, but the price of parking for out of state parking/entry to the park is now $7 or $8 dollars. Also, the clubhouse/shop has a lot less discs for sale. Overall for disc golf, you will find more holes than you could throw in a day.... longs, shorts, forest, water, hills, wide open, tunnels, all things are here. 4 1/2 stars but Google wont let me.
Nice area, but $7 dollars for a county park? Thats overkill. In fact Cedar Lake or Crown Point have very limited variety of parks that would help families connect with nature, without being surrounded by traffic. This is one of the places.
Took the dogs for exercise at the dog park. Wonderful area for them.
Great place, but bad for fishing!
Peaceful and beautiful. The dog park is a great place to make friends. The place needs a bit of a spruce up.
It was a great place to fish and especially to explore. The forest trails extended pretty far and I had a lot of fun at this park! The community was really nice and welcoming as well. I gave it a 4 star however because it is somewhat littered but besides that its a great park!
Space for dogs to run free inside fence. Frisbee golf courses. Few small beautiful lakes. Good nature tracks to follow. Shelters and cooking spots for outdoor parties. Pootch Park driveway and parking lot in good condition after fixing it recently.
My favorite place to go to spend some time outdoors. I dream of there being more love for this place as a whole because it’s a huge area with lots to explore. There’s a large playground for children, a lake path you can walk in the shade, multiple baseball fields, tennis courts, and pavilions, and a forest to explore with the help of disk golf paths. Can’t show my love for this place enough.
I drove 1.5 hours to attend my boys first cross country meet of the year with well over 1,000 people in attendance and guess what...NO BATHROOMS!!! They were all out of order so we had to hustle up the hill 1/4 of a mile to find a vaulted shack that hasnt been cleaned in who knows how long! On top of that, how are the runners supposed to do their best if they arent given a way to relieve themselves before the race? If the facilities were not up to par, the event should have been postponed or repairs made a priority that week.
Weve never been here even though its rather close to us. Our son had a USMC poolee family event here. There is a fee to enter the park but we were covered. Facilities and playgrounds all looked very nice. We didnt explore a whole lot other than the pavilion we were at and the playground. Would visit here or consider holding an event here as well.
Disc golf!!! 5 beautiful courses and a full disc golf shop. Spend the day play them all.
Beautiful place to have parties (plenty of shelters I like that they have a small child and bigger child play equipment and especially like that there are picnic tables connected to the play area. Its free when no attendant is on duty , otherwise its $5 residents and $8 non resident per car.
Wonderful park easy trails and dog friendly
The park is very nice. There are many things to do from fishing, walking trails, playground, and disc golf to name a few. This is a good place for parties and get togethers. I also saw a wedding party come for outdoor photos.
