This zoo features animals from around the world plus a botanical garden, museum & ancient ruins.
Hippos need fresher, cleaner water.
Nice place to visit with the family. Restaurants inside the zoo not to pricey, good taste.
The animals here are absolutely *chefs kiss*. These animals deserve the absolute best because they are so cute and so sweet. I have to say that many enclosures were very large, but some were smaller than they shouldve been in my opinion which was disappointing because the animals deserve the most spacious and comfortable stays possible.
Nice zoo very clean.
Great park. Watch your wallet though, theres thieves who got my wallet in a crowd.
The place in general is clean. Id like to see the animals in better open space
Amazing park. Plan for an entire day adventure. Is big!
Excellent zoo and massive. I recommend go there really early. Parking lot gets full immediately, so keep it in mind. Have your map because you can get lost and walk around the same areas. You can eat in some open areas the food you brought or you can also eat in the restaurants. They are always full and overpriced, as any snack. The variety of animals is great, specially because theyre divided by regions. You need to return more than once because you definitely are not going to finish the circuit in one visit.
Not only a zoo but a huge children park and a large archeological ruins site. It is also an educative park. Full of people and reasonable prices
Totally renewed and clean, it is a great place to visit with the family. Early hours are the best to find it less crowded.
A great place to visit with the family and kids. It is large and welcoming. A lot of things to do. Get ready to stay ALL DAY!!! Loved it!
Unbelievable that in the XXI century people still find enjoyment seeing animals suffering and outside of their natural habitats..
Impressed with how well maintained the park is. I did not get to see elefants though.
This is big zoo I didn’t finish walking around it. Just saw a few major animals. You can spend all day here bring food enjoy it in the picnic area. Lots of venders trying to sale you product.
The only administrative team are on the entrance. Making sure they cash your ticket. Inside is a mess, visitors do whatever the fu... they want
Wonderful variety of species and animals. Nice to learn and enjoy more than one day visiting there.
On my first time in Lima my wife and I visited here and 2 years later we choice to return. Its a beautiful place with so much to see you get to relax and enjoy the whole day. The Animals and their enclosures are all well looked after with most having plenty of room ( it was a hot day and not all pools were filled enough in my opinion). Yet again the butterfly house was a complete let down and this time not a single butterfly was here, there were plenty outside tho. This is a place Im sure I will be returning to in the future as there was alot of work being carried out Im looking forward to seeing the next stage of this amazing zoo.
I really enjoyed the visiting, it was very educational and the way of showing the explanation was good, just some mistakes about the translation and I consider they must check some cages, specially the birds
This is a good place to visit while being in Lima. You can see the diversity of animals in the different regions: Coast, Highlands and Jungle. The names are also in English, so you will also understand. Plus, you have a butterfly place, a lake, some spaces to play. It demands walking but there is also a train that takes you everywhere. Children will love it.
Many exhibits were unoccupied
Some of the exhibits are very dirty. There was a small wild cat, and you could barely see it through the dirty window. Some of the viewing windows or fences are very poorly positioned.Aside from that, its quite fun.
Its huge. Consider a whole day (that ends at 5 pm!gone. If was a kid I would wanna stay in there forever.Downsides: Some of the animals really dont seem to be well. Restrooms may be dirtier than some enclosures and some of the attractions may be down due to Covid or maintenance.Pro tip: Bring some Cash (30 Soles). There is only one casheer at the entrence who accepts cards -> longest queue.
Limas only zoo, cool exhibits and things to do, found this time there was more emphasis in blow-up castles and fair-type rides than on the animals and their upkeep, lots of closed exhibits due to "maintenance". Many vendors and pushy merchants being loud and obnoxious, but thats normal in this city. Overall ok for the cheap admission price.
It was a very fun experience for the whole family. It had so much more that what I expected and was a very big place.I would recommend taking the family to this place. Their were various restaurants to chose from and all around a good time.I give this place a 2 Thumbs Up. 👍👍
This zoo covers a LARGE expanse of land, built in, on, and around a lot of historic ruins (cool preservation). The exhibits and animals were really cool and surprisingly active. Some spots are a bit tired, but seems to be expected with such a large space. Entrance is very affordable (~$3.75usd / person). Would absolutely go back, worth the time for an enjoyable afternoon!
A pretty great zoo. Entry is not expensive, but concessions food and drinks are. Lots of animals to see. Our family particularly liked the Brazilian river otter which seems to have fun playing around.
An amazing place to have a break with our family, children will love it.
Its a nice zoo overall. Try to arrive as early as possible on the weekends, it gets full fast. The place is huge so bring some good shoes and be ready to walk for hours. You can find food and souvenirs inside. Some of the enclosures are quite small, that would be the only downside
The traditional zoo at Lima. Lots of animals distributed according to the 3 geographical regions of Peru. Nice place for a day out with the family and kids...
It was a great experience with muy family. We enjoy the outlook and the animals were well cared. It was a little crowded.
Wow they have really made some changes over 5 years. Lots of shade, animals, green spaces, stuff for kids, a few restaurants etc. The main restaurant only takes cash. HuH? One thing is I wish theyd clean some of the glass where do many people have made it dirty. Basically you cant beat the price and can spend an entire day here.
This park is nice, there is very little shade so it’s something to consider when going. Their are plenty of animals to see. )The debate on weather they have enough space is a whole other conversation. If you have kids this is definitely a place to visit. We have been twice as a family and I would consider going again. The park is big and you don’t have the chance to truly see every single animal in one visit.(I don’t consider this to be bad just a factThere are restaurants there to eat(take cashand plenty of little stores to buy water and snacks.
An amazing place to visit while in Lima. Very clean, organized, a site full of animals that does not smell ugly, I was very pleased with this visit.
Legends Park is a fantastic and idyllic place in the middle of Lima. We spent an entire day reuniting with the Peruvian side of the family and exploring the "Jungle" and zoo parts of the park. Still, I feel we only saw a small part of it. To truly experience the park, I think you should plan to spend two or three days. The prices inside the park are a bit inflated compared to buying water and refreshments on the streets. But the food at the restaurant next to the playground is excellent and well worth the small premium.
Most of the zoo is amazing. There is also a small amusement park inside, and a huge children’s playground. There are many exhibits with a variety of native animals. I wish all animals had nice areas, some are just too small.
Beautiful park! Big and plenty to see! I didn’t see all of the animals I wanted to because I was getting tired but I still really enjoyed the experience
It was a nice zoo. I went during the week which a lot of the entertainment was closed. There was a lot of maintenance going on and some enclosures were empty, some didn’t have proper signage, and still others could’ve been better especially the hippos and penguins. However, it was clean and I loved how they used the ruins as a backdrop. The animals looked healthy and they were out to be seen.
Great zoo/amusement/museum. Reasonably price although the rides & mining museum are extra. BRING YOUR OWN TOILET PAPER!Lots to see & do & learn. Very educational, bring a hat & sunscreen & bottle of water. Great for any age but a fair amount of walking is involved. They dont accept MasterCard much so stick with cash or Visa or any bank card that works in Peru & your own country. Venders inside are independently own so its hit & miss on quality & price but all in all...it was a great day. Kids under 12 will love it! But theres definitely something for any age.
For a zoo the Parque de las Leyendas is ok. Some areas are better than others. Still its hard to see animals kept in small enclosures.
Alot of fun, good exhibits where you get to be up close with birds in an atrium and monkey island, where you see uncaged monkeys playing.
Not bad, a lot of animals and what not. I do wish the signs said more about the animals and we’re more clear
I had a great time at the zoo today! Its really big. Lots of animals. I wish the bathrooms were cleaner tho. The entrance fee is 15 soles.
The animals were very cute. It was a very hot day but most of the animals were exhibited in clean exhibits for the most part. The jaguars pond needs to be maintenanced as it was filthy.
Very nice zoo. I loved the Amazon section where you can understand how it is and which animals you will encounter before heading into the real Amazon, not far from there.
We had a great time here! A lot of cool animals and the play area for kids was amazing! They let you bring food and drinks in too.
Great zoo overall - built right on top of some ancient ruins and plenty to do and see. We spent 4 hours there and we could have easily spent 4 more. Good place for a family picnic; we went on a Saturday and only the Amazon area was really too crowded with people.
Some of the spaces for the animals are too small... Besides that its Soo pretty
A local zoological area and park located in San Miguel, well maintained and fun for the family. Please do not expect a "world-class" experience, but do expect to see animals kept carefully in habitats that allow for viewing. It is a nostalgic and treasured part of San Miguel and receives thousands of visitors year-round.
Cost 15 Sols per person.I really like the design of this park. Being from the US I was impressed by what was offered and the overall design. However, I agree with other reviews that the glass for much of the enclosures was very dirty and hard to see the animals. There were quite a few animals I hadnt seen before which was a nice surprise. There were also open. Areas where animals were not confined by a cage and just surrounded by a 2 foot moat. Almost all the animal labels have the English name on them, but not all.I thought it was odd that most of the cages had only one animal in it. For example the tiger and lion area had only one in each exhibit. Seemed rather lonely and bored.Overall its a large park and you can spend several hours here. If you bring kids theres multiple areas for kids to play in and there were even festival zones.
Beautiful zoo with sooo many animals . Its a huge place that would easily take 3-4 hours to see properly . Some of the enclosures need to be updated but generally a great day out .
