The Runnymede on Thames, Windsor Rd, Egham TW20 0AG, Ḩalfāyā
Family-friendly, all-you-can-eat buffet for British fare with global influences, plus open kitchen.
Back to a buffet again after Covid. Ive missed this place and it was a lovely dinner with colleagues. Looking forward to coming back soon!
Very limited selection of starters and average quality food for £38.50 per head. Would be better as a normal restaurant so you dont have to pay lots if you only want a main.
Delicious Sunday lunch. Food and staff both excellent
We had breakfast with friends at the Left Bank. A fantastic location and we were lucky enough to get a table by the window overlooking the river. Breakfast was self service with the exception of the cooked breakfast which was served by the chef.Great food and service with the exception of the Black Pudding that could have been used to repair the sole of my shoe. Would however have no hesitation in recommending.
Average food, highish prices, average service
We had a delicious lunch
As said before. Charming place and staff.
This is the main restaurant at the awesome Runnymede hotel, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. We had several meals here during our hotel stay in December 2021, with the food absolutely fantastic every time. The staff were always smiling and helpful, making for an amazing experience. Well done to all the kitchen and wider team for being so awesome!
Loved it always great food
Great food, nice ambience, pleasant staff
Great service. Mediocre food.
The food was amazing, the atmosphere was lovely and the service was great. I will definitely be returning back here.
Used to be good, but had a poor experience last night. We went as a family of four and had a meal in the left bank restaurant. The table service was quite poor and the bill had a £13 service charge slapped on automatically. The total bill was £126 plus tip, making £139. I left £130 truly believing it was sufficient under the circumstances. The waiter came back twice saying it wasnt enough money. I explained once that the service charge was optional and that I have left enough including an appropriate tip. This was rejected and the waiter again insisted I pay the full amount as it was not enough. I explained again about the tip. He came back yes again to query how I would make up the shortfall in the bill. I was forced to stand my ground and insist in front of everyone that I wasnt paying the full tip.Automatically slapping on £13 tip for poor service is one thing. To then repeatedly question and confront a customer over not paying the full tip in front of everyone is quite another thing altogether. I left the restaurant feeling both humiliation at the confrontation but also annoyance knowing that actually I was right. The tip is optional, discretionary, and voluntary. Putting it automatically on the bill could be seen as a helpful reminder, thank you, if you want to see it that way, but repeatedly insisting it is paid and that I have made a mistake in leaving a smaller tip and ignoring my explanation is just plain wrong.
Fresh, diverse buffet of English/French/Mediterranean catering to all likes. An excellent venue for any occasion with an impeccable drinks list, ranging from the healthy smoothies to the fine whiskeys and cognac. The kitchen staff are well versed in the food production, give great descriptions and provide excellent recommendations. I love this restaurant. The food selection is presented elegantly and the depth of flavor is very impressive. 5 stars that are well deserved. Thank you very much.
Just lovely in here, great service, food, friendly staff - well worth a visit 😊
Not great for vegetariansI was really looking forward to our night out here, and it was going well with the starters, so I eagerly went over to the mains section and was greeted with all meat and fish options. When I asked the chef what he had for vegetarians he pointed at the fish. In the end I ordered some noodles, which turned up so salty I couldnt eat it. So Ive given a 3 for starters and dessert and atmosphere, but really disappointing that there was not a thought given to vegetarians. There were 5 in our group alone.
Booked in for dinner but very disappointed, food was cold, tasteless and dry. £68 for 2 people without drinks I expected a lot more. Not many options or varieties, the only thing that was nice was the two tiny bits of lamb we were given. Desserts were awful and dry. Also had breakfast which was slightly better but still not worth it for the price. Scrambled egg is tasteless watery mush with a crust on top, 4 different types of bacon that taste the same and full of fat. The sausages however were lovely. Id say for that price range its one of the worst meals we have had.
What can i say. Top top quality food and service
Oasis of peaceful riverside afternoon just in crook of London super highways!
We have been visiting Runnymede Left Bank for over 7 years, and in recent experience the quality, options and service has deteriorated massively. Especially, if you have gluten intolerance, options are very limited. I remember from years ago, where the on demand mains were prepared with flavours, fresh and good quality. My latest experience was a disaster, where vegetarian main options were roasted peppers, flavourless pasta and greasy pizza.I would highly recommend the management to consider a different, fresh and latest menu with more vegan, vegetarian and free from options. Not changing with times is not an option and I would be really sad to see if they don’t do keep up with changing consumer behaviour and needs.
Good food. Reasonably priced and wonderful views.
Amazing food and a huge selection. Great value for money and amazing service. Thank you
Attentive but not invasive waiting staff, great ambience, fabulous food and unparalleled location on the river! Whats not to like?
Food and service excellent - will certainly be going back
I was referred here by the concierge at a different hotel. when I arrived and saw a buffet, I didnt expect much. Usually, buffet fare is a symphony of color combined with bland flavors. The West Bank buffet was an altogether different beast. My family enjoyed an excellent variety of flavorful, well-prepared foods. Grab the raisin nut loaves before anyone else does. Everything is fresh and delicious. A+
Food was excellent but service and in particular the booking system is annoying and certainly will stop me from going againThey send me regular emails but to actually book is far more difficult than it should be
Great food, reasonably priced buffet
Awesome high quality food, plenty of options and brilliant drinks. Desert was super yummy 😋
Delicious buffet, reasonable price, stunning surroundings
Food was not as good as years past. Startets werent as interesting as before, no smoked salmon or prawns. Main courses bland and unappetising, occasionally dried out. Desserts better. Staff eager to help, and friendly.
Food looks delicious. Taste doesnt live up to the look however. Not terrible, but not great.
Food alright. Would have expected better for the price paid.
템즈강변 호텔에 있는 영국 현지식 부페식당. 가족들과 함께하기에 오붓함. 야외테이블더 있음
Wonderful ambience. Delightful food along with amiable and helpful staff. Would highly recommend.
Mostly great food and various choices. Definitely worth it if you cant decide what to have, want to try a bit of everything or just dont want to worry about being disappointed by quality of meal. We had a party of 12 and everyone enjoyed the place and food. Pleasant and helpful staff as well.
We visited this place as part of a business meeting and had a truly great experience. The first look might not be the best but the inside is fantastic. The decorations are superb, the staff are courteous and helpful a d the restaurant is a delight. The food is superb made from fresh ingredients and is deliciously prepared. There is a great variety and some superb choice. From start to finish its a great experience. They offer an outstanding buffet lunch which puts many restaurants to shame. The staff are very helpful and do it in an non invasive manner.
Good food, poor service & always told they are fully booked when it isalways only half full, there are many businesses that would survive onthe customers that they turn away, I find it unbelievable, I am an ex restaurant owner & I find this attitude quite incredible, they have roughly 150 seats yet you will only ever see about 80 dining !! amazing..Lovely setting on the river, lovely fresh buffet food & plentiful but verypoorly managed & inexperienced staff leave a lot to be desired.
Fantastic Price fantastic buffet a must visit
Superb buffet. Top quality and huge choice
This was my first visit to you although some of my family have eaten several times with you. and i only live 5 min away plus due to an accident i am paralysed paraplegic cofined to wheelchair so bit weary as many places not easy or suitable But this was perfect for me.
