Foods pretty good most of the time.

I was terribly disappointed yesterday.!I did not know that they dont serve crispy chicken no more,just regular..I WILL NOT BE GOIN TO LEES CHICKEN ANYMORE..!!wish i could give them half a star.!!!🤬

If it were possible Id give them minus stars. Poor service and the good was dried out from setting in the warmer but they gave it to us anyway. I ask for my money back and gave them the junk back. The manager came to refund our money but didnt even offer an apology. Never again will we go there!

Dinning room closed before 8 pm on a Friday. Spend my money elsewhere.

Ate at Lees famous recipe this evening. Girl behind counter with headset on plated our food. Prior to that she coughed in her hand. While we were eating she was putting food in her mouth. As far as I could tell there was no hand washing involved. Praying we dont get sick.

Lees Chicken in Muncie is so much better than the location in Anderson. It tastes better and its definitely cleaner. Lees has better chicken than KFC, hands down.I am adding to my review. One year later.. The chicken strips were dry!! Like a piece of thick leather. The potato wedges were awful, had a gross grainy sand like coating. Where are the sauces? 3 meals and zero sauce. Very disappointing.

Lees in Muncie is always unbeatable. Fresh food, friendly staff, and good prices (as long as you aint a broke bishA visit to lees will never leave you disappointed!! Has KFC beat 1,000 times over!!!!!!!!!!

Slow service, employees yelling at each other, food was warm at best & they charge you for sauces. If you’re gonna charge for sauces at least give fresh food. Not sure how 3 strips and potato wedges is only 1 sauce. The sauce cups are super small at only 1.5oz. This Lee’s doesn’t even compare to any other one I’ve been to. Very disappointed

Chicken is all right but I like noodle dinner too but its still 5$ for 2 PC chicken 1side and a biscuit and KFC has 5$ fill up and u get 2 sides and biscuit and u get a drink with both so another pic of chicken same price at KFC SO WHICH EVER U PREFER well its a lot more expensive now so even if you get a two-piece dinner its real close to $10

Chicken was dry mashed potatoes were not mashed, macaroni and cheese was worse than kraft.

Price increased drastically from my last visit. Chicken overcook and like rubber. No honey, no butter. I mean come on.

Good food just poor customer service.. employees are rude. Didn’t get told to have a good day or a you’re welcome when told thank you just got a dirty look and window shut on us.

My last time to pay for leftovers! The potatoes were not mixed little balls and to thick to eat. The biscuit was hard a rock, then the chicken was cold and dry like it sit all day. The gravy and cole slaw were alright. $50. Bucks out the window. No stars negative 5 stars. Oh now I have to give them a star to post this!

You get old, hard, dry food and the lady at the window was very rude! They dont evan deserve the one star.

Lees is one of my favorite places to eat, I’ve been to this specific location 4 times since I moved to Muncie. They have messed up my food every time I’ve went. Missing stuff, food was burnt/over cooked or had been sitting there for a long time, and way to hard to eat!! I called one time to tell them they gave me the wrong stuff and the girl said they didn’t have what I asked for so they replaced it and I said I wanted my money back she said she didn’t know what to tell me and hung up. I tried getting a refund many times after, I emailed them and called and got the run around. So I gave up. Definitely won’t be returning to this location ever again.

They was a little busy I waited for a while but it was a Friday night and drive through only they got everything right and everything was good so thats all you can ask for!

Food was good, fresh and hot. Got my order quickly through the drive thru. Was impressed with the chicken sandwich. The Mac n cheese is really good and the potato wedges were on point.

I spent $16 for lunch. We got a liver dinner and a 3 pcs mixed meal. Absolutely disgusting! Biscuits were hard as a rock, and no taste whatsoever. Had 3 wedges and they were a mushy mess. Chicken was slimey, just awful. The livers were dry, overdone and a rubbery mess as well. Please do not waste your money on this location. Individual food preparation at this location is an absolute disaster. 👎🏼👎🏼 Definitely will not be going back.

We used to eat at this establishment often however our recent issue is one reason that has dwindled and we won’t be going back anymore.We ordered our food 1/2 original 1/2 spicy crispy with mash and gravy, green beans and baked beans. What we got was ALL ORIGINAL, MAC, Green beans and potato wedges. When we called the mgr was understanding as the order was similar to another’s. She informed us we could get our whole meal replaced and we explained it would be a few days however as we were not driving back up there that night. No issue…? Fast forward today 10-11-2021 my wife goes to get our food. (2nd trip to get order correct? Mgr explained to wife company policy states we have to get messed up order the day. (Not what we were told when I called about order). Regardless the food is bagged and again passed to my wife whom after dealing with mgr at store was just ready to be home after a long day. We open the food and we’ll you guessed it it was completely wrong AGAIN! So here I am after calling the store and having the same mgr explain to me “IM DOING YOU A FAVOR BY REPLACING YOUR FOOD TODAY”. Excuse me? How are you doing is a favor by messing our order up twice, arguing with not only my wife in person but myself when I called about the food. We used our gas to commute to your establishment, we used our money to order food from your franchise that MESSED THE ORDER UP TWICE! Not sure this is the type of franchise LEES would want representing them?! I’ve now left a msg with what the mgr claims is Van (the franchise owner). I’ll await his return call before contacting the actual Company of LEES about its franchise in Muncie Indiana. No bringing the food back up to get corrected wasn’t an option a 2nd time, we didn’t want our food spit on or worse.

The one thing I regret not taking a picture it is the worst meal Ive ever had in my life and my cold sore was bad so I take it back the next day although replaces five pieces of the chicken and the coleslaw like it was my fault that they served me sold me $23 worth of rotten food have any famous recipe my entire life that was wrong that was just wrong and they were rude about it

Always good. Never had a bad experience when eating at lees famous chicken. Eat there for lunch often when working in town.

I love there livers I dont go to north side of town much but I try to stop every chance I get.

Chicken did not have that classic lees taste. Ordereda 3 piece mixed gave me all dark. Only thing that was hot was the wedges

This location needs improvement! First of all you cant ask for honey when placing your order at any Lees location,they tell you to ask at the window. Twice now after asking at the window they still forgot my honey for my biscuits! Another time I specified dipping sauce for my chicken tenders when I placed my order and no sauce at all! Through the pandemic the lobby has been closed except for employees. The drive thru line was long again so I got yelled at for coming into the lobby to get my sauce. Luckily I was eating in the parking lot otherwise for the price I dont want to eat dry chicken or biscuits. They need better mgmt or employees who care to work!!

Really good. Got fresh chicken strips and they were crispy. Not dripping with oil.

Checked order before pulling away from the window and some of it was missing. The manager said it was all there and called out what was in the bag but when I showed her the receipt and the missing items she said there would be an 8 minute wait (actually was a 15 minute wait). Said they couldnt just give away free food and we told her we didnt want free food we wanted what we paid for!

This chicken had a weird taste to it... My daughter didnt like it either... Tasted like it was old chicken that expired. The chicken at Indianapolis gas stations are better than this now that should tell you something. And I paid 32.00 bucks? I couldve went to SteakCity or the new place on 12th street to get better chicken for a helluva cheaper price also taste. Lees Chicken? Your fired who own this franchise? They need to get a major grip on theyre restaurant ASAP

Waited in line at the drive-thru for 30 minutes just to get the wrong order, and was expected to wait another 30 minutes, to get it fixed. I know that covid-19 is a big deal right now, but theres no reason not to let people in the door for takeout, or to fix a messed up order. Probably wont go back until sanity returns.

Had a pretty good size order for me and everyone at work and the whole crew that was working was absolutely awesome! Quick service and everything was hot and delicious!! I will be back very soon!!!

I have gotten plenty of good meals from Lees Famous Recipe. However its touch and go when it comes to freshness and quality of food. For instance we had some with bad gizzards. Call to let them know. Was given many reasons why our complaint probably wasnt true, but nevertheless they sent us a card for replacement gizzard. About three weeks later was on the north side of town being as we live out towards Cowan. Anyways were headed over to order just the large gizzard. Lord and behold they were hard nasty and old . Like I said there have been plenty of times Ive gotten really good chicken here at this store on wheeling. I will say they have a manager that seems to care a lot about his customers. However I believe things are different when hes not there. I would say I have no problem going here for food, but it would be wise to call ahead and make sure that the manager in charge is there.

We had a horrible problem this evening. It cost $40+ and we had to wait 30 minutes on some chicken legs to cook. We were given a"free" box of chicken strips because of our long wait time but instead of 10 there were only 3. Our biscuits were dried out and most of the chicken strips were dry and rough,so much that our 8 year old grandson when asked why he only ate one chicken strip ( he loves chicken stripssaid "Nana theyre really not that good" on top of that the chicken legs we waited on for so long were bloody inside. So we did not have a good experience this evening and were in a hurry so our grandson could eat a good meal, get a shower and get ready for bed and school tomorrow. 😔

Food was great. But the service was awful. We ordered and they got our order wrong. Then we placed a to go order to take with us because the food was that good. It was a large to go order so we gave them some time. Then after 45 minutes I went up and asked about the order only to find out they never started it.

The food is really good thats the only reason Im giving them 2 stars but the service is TERRIBLE weve got catering from them 3 times and they messed up every time! Also forgot about our order even though we called a week before and a day before!!

Better than Kentucky Fried Chicken. Not as greasy. However, it is a little bit spicier, which is fine with me. The prices are competitive with Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Went to Wheeling location in Muncie IN ... total was 14.55 not only did I have to wait 11 mins for 6 and a half min wedges, they charged my card twice. Now I could totally understand if it was 14.55 twice but one was for the correct amount the other is for $383.51. Yes you read correct almost 400$ GM said oh well we voided it so your bank actually owes you...owner said oh well we dont have your money. Im super pi$$ed off. Will never NEVER go there again.

Even though I had to wait for fresh livers, they were bitter and inedibleNasty. Disappointing. The other items were fresh. Usually their livers are delicious, but not today.

Some of the best fried chicken Ive had. I went and ordered for my family, and it ended up being a pretty large order. They didnt have that much chicken prepared, so they offered me a free drink while I waited, which I greatly appreciated. The chicken came faster than they estimated, even. They kept me pleased while I was there, and they pleased me again when I ate their chicken.

We had the chicken strips and the barbecue chicken sandwich. Both were delicious. The biscuits are the best! This is one of my sons favorite restaurants.

I have always liked this place compared to churchs chicken and The god awful Kentucky fried chicken. Lees has a great variety and offers livers and gizzards which is a favorite when relatives come up visiting from the south. I highly recommend this restaurant. So much better than the competition.

I went in today and stood at the counter waiting to order, but no one bothered to come take my order. I could see them working, and they saw me, but never acknowledged my presence, never said, "well be right with you," or anything! I have always liked Lees over KFC, but after todays experience, Id rather drive to Popeyes in Anderson than go back to that Lees location.I ended up walking out after waiting at the counter for about 7 or 8 minutes. Five or six employees working, and not one willing to take an order. What a disgrace...

Limited menu but the food was delicious (we got mostly tenders, 3pc crispy, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and biscuitsand the service was excellent. The was a very short wait on tenders and the staff loaded me up with freebies for the wait.

It was my coworkers birthday and we had a huge order. We came in and they were beyond professional. Josh was very helpful and even assisted in carrying out our older to the vehicle. Definitely a place Ill mention next time we decide to cater!

Figured Id try something different than KFC and to say the least, it was a horrible choice. The employee behind the desk had a horrible attitude and management wasnt any better. The prices were much higher, service was terrible and the food didnt taste great at all. I would not recommend the Muncie location at all.
