Le Willi's Wine Bar - Wine bar in Paris, France
Huge selection of Rhone wine, mostly classic domaines
Quaint wine bar. Sooo many choices. Love this place. So fun
Great place, great wines, great food snd more over, great people. Can’t wait for re-opening.
Our wine was fantastic, and we also enjoyed a small cheese plate. Our bartenders were friendly. It’s a nice atmosphere inside and the anniversary posters available for purchase are worth looking at.
Had lunch here. A charcuterie, tasted great. Very friendly and helpfull waiters, excelent wine - thank you. Didnt book in advance, but the staff found room for us.I loved the posters on the wall which different artists have made for Willis Wine Bar through the years.
Excellent food, happy staff. But no sangria nor shiraz.
What a lovely place. We celebrated my fiancé’s birthday here. The food and the wine were perfect and the staff are so polite and helpful, highly recommended! Cheers 🍷
Recommended by my boss I had to visit. Very nice place for a bottle of wine and some food. Helpful staff, if you like wine but dont know much about wine. If you do, youll find a good wine! Afterwards its just a straight line to the right and youll end up in the park where Emily in Paris met Mindy for the first time. Royal park, it is. Enjoy!
A wine bar named after a beloved dog, in Paris, how could one not love this place?
If you love wine youll love Willis. Great service and recommendations from the waiters.
Very friendly staff- that’s why 3/5 stars. Food at best ok. Given the plethora of available restaurants in Paris…
More than 10 years since my first visit. Still good value for money. Recommended!
I like it! Good wine, tasty cheese 🧀 and… art! I Recommend to come and drink one or more glasses of perfect wine 🍷
Very good food. Nice service. Friendly atmosphere. Not very crowded.
For being so highly recommended I was a bit disappointed with the lack of selection of wines by the glass. I know the French don’t really do a wine flight tasting but the man at the bar did do a great job (in Englishof explaining the wines. The Vouvray was my favorite and was a bit more balanced and less fruit forward than most others if it’s kind. 2 points off because he never came back after I ordered to check on me and for the small selection by the glass when they are in the heart of Paris’ wine bar neighborhood.
I truely enjoyed wine and atmosphere here. Lots of employees are able to speak English well. And, one of them, she recommended gorgeous wine to us. So, I am willing to visit here again with my aquintances.
Had some solid wine, meats and cheeses, and the chocolate terrine was delicious.
Very good food with extremely pleasant and helpful waiting staff. Interior is charming and the atmosphere is relaxed. Prices are not the cheapest but the quality is very good. I would visit again but without my kids as the menu isnt great for fussy eaters and the only soft drinks are artisan style fruit juices.
Charming restaurant with nice ambience, friendly and helpful staff, good choice of wines and state of art food.
Fun place with a lovely staff...really among the friendliest we came across in the city...Great wine of course and you can eat well..
Loved this place great selection of wines and great service could have stayed there all day.
An absolute must-stop when in need of refreshment anytime of day in Paris.Very pleasant, English friendly staff. Lots of options with well educated staff to help guide one through.Close to Louvre...stop in after lunch, before dinner, for dinner or last drink of night.
Super experience.!! Charismatic staff and owner- bought his book this place is definitely worth a visit to hear the history
We had a fantastic lunch at Willis. The food, the service and of course the wine was exceptional. I would recommend booking if you are planning to go. But, if a last minute decision you just might be able to grab a set at the wine bar! Enjoy.
Cute wine bar. Friendly service. Just had a glass while waiting for dinner. The one glass was really tasty
Came for a couple of glasses of wine after dinner. I was really underwhelmed for the price we paid. I’ve been to better wine bars in Paris. Service was meh.
Way better vine bars in Paris. Wine selection is unstructured and prices are overly expensive with markups for many wines around 4-5x the purchasing price. Worst is the service though, which is rude and pushes guests to select the higher priced beverages.
A perennial favourite. Service is hit or miss. Went for dinner but got given lunch menus, half hour late they came back and we had to re-chose. Still excellent.
Fantastic meal. Cozy bar with great wine. My lamb with couscous and apricot glaze was excellent.
We started the evening greeted with rude remarks from the owner who was very unwelcoming and showed clear irritation that a another customer with a reservation came through the door. Perhaps he was trying to be deal with his overwhelm, but patrons at the crowded bar were laughing uncomfortably and then someone said something like, “I guess you know you’re successful when you don’t need business and that you can talk to customers any way you want to.” For a Saturday evening dinner, the restaurant was very understaffed which resulted in a 2.5 hour meal while listening to a another customer’s dog barking in the dining area throughout the evening. I hope this was just an off night for the establishment, but none-the-less, the dining experience was atrocious and a definite low point during our experience in Paris.
Aww this was a dream come true for us. Have long loved Willis wine bar posters and finally got to visit. It did not disappoint! The staff was so nice (Nadia? From Chileand the place is adorable and romantic and the wine was amazing.
Fabulous food, superb wine selection & super friendly staff. A real ‘find’ in Paris!
Best wine bar weve been to since we arrived. Friendly and helpful service at the bar, wonderful recommendations. Wine by the glass list is lovely, something for everyone. And the food is truly delicious! Try the ravioli aux fois gras-- a beautifully composed and perfectly balanced dish that complimented the wine beautifully. Shockingly, also one of the least expensive places weve tried. I only wish we were staying longer so we could return!
This is the best wine bar that Ive been to in Paris. They have expensive wine but also very affordable ones. I tried the Cotes de Rhone red wine and liked it so much. The staff is friendly, very patient and all speaks good English. The atmosphere is very cozy. Id definitely like to recommend this place to my wine-lover friends and come back again some time.
AMAZING!!!! Great atmosphere, friendly servers and amazing food!! I told myself I wouldn’t eat American food while I was in France, and I broke down and got a burger here. It wasn’t at all what I expected but it was so so soooooo gooood!!!! Our waitress was a lovely Irish lass and she made us feel right at home!!! Definitely a go to!!
Great hideout after a long day trekking the Louvre! Good wine selection and the food also looked and smelled yummy! If we didnt have other plans to join friends (previously arranged for another location), wed definitely have stayed at Willis.Since my pleasant visit, Ive recommended other friends to visit Willis and they were not let down (seems like the food did live up to expectations too), so I cannot recommend it highly enough.
23-25 Oct 2018: Great food, great service! Im here in a business trip from the USA with a number of other people from USA and Europe. We liked this restaurant so much that we went here 3 days in a row. We had a vegetarian in our group and Willis accommodated her with no problem. Nice variety food, all of which is very well flavored and seasoned. Please give me a thumbs up like below.
Nice place to visit. Staff is knowledgeable on wine options and pairings.
The owner is fantastic! He is both hilarious and sarcastic so be prepared! Our waitress couldn’t have been more lovely. The wine was spectacular. The food was good. Great vibe! At the end of the evening the owner introduced us to his son Adrian and walked us over to his restaurant next-door. The restaurant is called MACEO ... hope to visit next trip!
Fabulous famous place. Lunch is wonderful. Say hello Paula, the wonderful server.
The bad reviews on here are laughable- were they made by the French trying to keep tourists out and to keep the place as a hidden gem to themselves? I had dined here many years ago and found it even better this visit! My 7-year old enjoyed the hummus while I enjoyed the amazing duck- the wine was outstanding and the service extremely kind and warm. Every single other person dining here for lunch was a French businessperson- which is very odd considering the prices are fairly moderate for a nice lunch near the Louvre.
Great city wine bar. . Good selection to taste before they fill your glass. We have stopped here a few times to enjoy a glass at the bar & once tried the dinner menu.. pleasantly surprised with the selection. Good food, reasonably priced. . ohh.. and for the anglophone where such is important in France, they speak impeccable Anglais with the perfect British accent..
We got a booking on Valentines Day when a lot of other places were full. Very nice restaurant serving good quality authentic French classics and some with innovative twists. Helpful waitress helped us with our wine selection and translated the menu. The mash that came with my main course had a pool of delicious jus in the middle of it and although the chocolate terrine looks disappointing it tastes superb. Cosy and romantic atmosphere, fair priced food, only drawback was that it was a little cold and drafty - dont sit by the door!
Truly a 3.5 star place. The waiters were very helpful and spoke tremendous English, and the menu was clear and well thought out. We had the three course meal, which was uniformly good, but overall never reached the highs of other establishments in Paris. This is a good, solid restaurant, and you wont be disappointed, but .... its Paris! There are amazing places nearby. Maybe try those?
Very good experience. The wine selection was great, of course. The ceviche was delicious, but the halibut tartar wasnt my favorite. The best part about Willis was the staff. They were extremely friendly and accommodating, even though my wife and I dont speak any French.
Great food, excellent wines, and helpful/friendly staff. What else do you want? :p
It is not secret that Willis is my "go to" for lunch whether with friends or solo at the bar. Very welcoming and friendly, great people watching, delicious seasonal menu and the wines by the glass are liquid perfection. There is a reason this place is and has been so well lived by so many for so long (37 years!)
Really good food at a reasonable price. Large wine selection. Wonderful atmosphere. Half tourists and half French businessmen for lunch. Also nice artistic touch with their own posters.
Super chill. Great service from super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great place to sit down for a while and try some delightful and surprisingly affordable wines with a plate of some of the best mixed cheeses and ham. Cant wait to visit again.
My husband and I dined at Willies Wine Bar during a 4 night stay in Paris and it was great! We made a reservation 1 month in advance and were seated promptly on arrival. We ordered from the 3 course price fix menu (I think it was 30-35 EUR per person, I cannot remember the exact cost). The waitress happily translated the menu to English for us and the food was very good! We both ordered a shrimp appetizer was tasty and well prepared. For my main dish, I ordered a Cornish hen with a light gravy that was juicy and delicious. My husband had the cod and enjoyed it! Overall, Id highly recommend this restaurant if youre looking to spend around 100 EUR for food and wine in Paris (per couple). The atmosphere, food, and service were great!
