Le Petit Cafe Restaurant Aruba - Restaurant in Oranjestad, Aruba
Filet mignon cooked on a stone highly recommend this bit was so tender and tasty.
The food was ok but the service was not The singer was bad and I think the rate of the restaurant is over rated
Great food and service! Nice selection of dishes including some local inspired options
The environment is great I didn’t give it a 5 starts only because the cocktails weren’t the best for me but that could’ve been just my pallet. The service and food was amazing. I definitely recommend this place and the parking around it was free as well. I would say for a dinner is pricey but worth it if you want that. I got the pepper steak, they will give it to you seared but mostly raw. If you want it closer to medium well etc leave it on the hot stone to cook further or eat it right away.
I stumbled upon this place on my walk back to the hotel. I honestly didnt know what to expect but I really enjoyed my meal here. I ordered the surf & turf. The hot stone is a really nice touch. I will be back here for sure.
Delicious! Cooking on the hot stones was a cool experience! The filet was so juice and tender. The service was excellent! Well definitely be back there on our next trip!
Amazing place! Great food and superior, caring, attentive service! Don’t listen to the people who gave a bad review because they just don’t understand how to cook their own food, privileged people can be ignorant but this place is a gem! We were pleasantly surprised by how delicious everything was from our appetizers to our entrées great service great food highly recommend. Jonathan the server was very attentive to our needs
Nice cafe with a delicious quality food! The staff were all friendly and helpful. And of course many thanks to Victoriya for her outstanding service!
The waiter, host, and live music were all amazing. The host deserves a raise! He was so knowledgeable, kind, and funny. Pretty much only reason we decided to try the place out. We had to wait a little while for the food, and it wasn’t necessarily “amazing”. It was good, but the service and staff is what really made this place enjoyable. They even brought out a free desert and candle when they found out we were celebrating my birthday. A very warm restaurant with amazing people and decent food.
Dont let the look of this place fool you it is a tourist trap restaurant. Their so called claim to fame is food served on a hot stone. Well I guess the stone wasnt hot enough as my fish came raw! My husbands steak came out 10 minutes before my raw fish and was not very good and the baked potato was dry and the skin black. I told my waiter my fish was raw and after another 10 minute wait I went to the manager and told him to cancel my order. It was way over priced for what you get a definet MUST AVOID!!
Outstanding food and drinks. Staff seemed a little overwhelmed on Mothers Day. Make sure you have rsvps.
They bring you a raw piece of meat and you are supposed to cook it yourself. It is dark in the restaurant and you cant tell if your food is cooked. It is also a terrible mess(see pictures). If you want a steak, do yourself a favor - cook it at home or get it in a good restaurant. Dont go to le petit for a steak
They have the best hot stone dinner in Aruba. Get your filet mignon wrapped in bacon or your lobster and shrimp. Awesome! Martin the host that greets you is the nicest! Makes you feel right at home.
My family and I came for dinner and the service was horrible. Our food took more than an hour to come out. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer and the table next to us who came in 15 mins later got theirs first. The waiter then realized and us if our appetizer came out yet. I had to keep asking to refill our water. I also requested for the bibs that other tables had because I did not want my clothes to be ruined from the spattering oil on the hot stone. The waiter said there was no more. So I had to make my own with the napkin I had. The food was not flavorful and my steak was not cooked. Literally had a raw center and Im a person that likes medium rare. They tried to say the wait time for the hot stone meals are longer. However, my mother who got the ribs (not on hot stonereceived her order the same time as us. AVOID! better off going to Tango Argentine grill for a hot stone steak than this.
Had a farewell to Aruba dinner here with the family. Loved it! Steaks served on your own individual grill was pretty cool. Drinks were great.
LaPetite is a place we go everytime we come to Aruba. It is unique with its stone cooking. Your food is hot from 1st bite to last. The ambience is very nice and the personnel are friendly and efficient. We saw children there but personally we dont believe its a restaurant for children. A romantic dinner, definitely.
Few words for you, "Plato Del La Casa"!They say a Photo is worth a million words ! So ill let my photo speak for itself!. But umm everything is amazing!
My tenderloin was unbelievably tough to the point I couldnt cut it. The Mashed potato was nice but the rest wasnt eaten. Went home hungry.
Great food, steak 9n the stone fabulous!!🥰
Ordered the happy hour hot plate and calamari. Both delicious. Quick service, clean place.
The food is always good. Cook it to your taste on the lava stone. I wouldn’t recommend the lobster though. It could have been cooler error but it was very chewy. The steak is seasoned very well! They offer an early bird special from 5-7 for only 25.00 usd.
So disappointed in the service at this restaurant. Tall manager could have cared less. We had reservations, went in to be seated he sat us in the very back where there was nobody sitting. We asked to be seated in the middle where there was multiple open tables, he said no, then two other couples behind us were seated in the middle section. We asked the waitress to go over and get the manager as we wanted to be seated in the middle not in the back room where there was nobody sitting. The manager would not even come over. After repeated requests we finally got up and left. I spoke to the manager and owner on the way out he did not care. If you want some decent service don’t go here.
Great & Delecious Food. Excellent Service & Staff. Very Attentive. Great Prices. Money Well Spent. One Of My Favorite Restaurants On The Island.
Loved the atmosphere in this place and the food was great. I had lamb chops and it was to die for.
On vacation this weekend and celebrating milestone birthday, we suffered the most unprofessional customer service and horrifying behavior of other customers. To the point where it seemed the staff feared what might happen and left us unable to finish our meals peacefully. Reluctantly, we paid for this disastrous dining experience with only a free dessert. Totally unacceptable. We will not return as we leave for USA on Tuesday. Your staff needs better training in communication skills, kindness and gratitude.
A very styleish & Unique dining experience! The atmosphere and the Ambiance was good. Very reasonable price !!! Courteous Staff. Food was awesome 👌. Ordered the all Seafood SufnTurf and my cousin ended up ordering the steak SufnTurf on the Super Hot Stone. Also orders their famous French Onion soup, cheesecake and Cappuccino for dessert.
One of my favorite places to eat when visiting Aruba! Try the lobster on the stone. The porterhouse is a massive amount of meat and honestly, lacked flavor. I also felt it was tough.
Great food with secondhand smoking on the side. Perhaps you’ll be luckier than us and they won’t seat smokers right behind your children. Asked for a different table and we were promptly re-accommodated inside.
Food and experience was not very good. Waited over an hour for the food and it wasn’t good. It was a party of 4. The manager was very apologetic, and so was our waitress Veronica. She even noticed that the kitchen was taking a very long time with the food.
Pretty cool concept! Went for dinner on a Wednesday and was able to be seated immediately. We wanted to enjoy our drinks, and our waitress brought some bread and let us just sit and enjoy. We both had steak and seafood. They bring out the meats on a hot cooking stone, so you can slice the meat and let it cook on the stone to your liking. The shrimp was a decent size (but you only receive 3), and the steak was a good size. Both had good flavor. My wife had the lobster and enjoyed it as well. Service was very good and we both enjoyed the food and setting.
Easily the best meal had in Aruba. The stone cooking of the food at your table adds a unique element to the experience. The value for the money of the $40 Carribean Delight is simply amazing. While it may not be a beach side restaurant, it more than makes up in value and character.
delicious food, good service, been there twice during our vacation due to all the aforementioned points. recommend.
The concept is nice, but could be better. The steak wasnt seasoned and the service was a bit slow. The vegetables also tasted of nothing. Not only that, but we barely had any light to even see our food. If the concept is people having to cook their own meat, Id atleast hope they could see if its cooked. Its overpriced for what you get. Not that great
Great service, very attentive, and a fun concept! French Onion Soup was very good, steak was tender and flavorful. Only issue was the food continued to cook on the hot stones, so we should have removed our shrimp sooner to prevent overcooking.
Very good location. Good waiting staff. I think the steak could use more seasoning. The wine menu was good , better than the beer selection. A bit overpriced, even by Palm Beach standards
The food is mediocre but overpriced. The steak isn’t great, and this is their feature meal. The novelty of cooking your own meat on a rock is just that - a novelty. It’s not worth it. (The dessert was also sub-par.We tried it twice, same experience both times.
We were looking for awonderful small French restaurant in that area that we discovered four or five years ago and came upon Le Petit Cafe.Thinking we found our French restaurant we looked at the menu.... NOT French cuisine! The food and service was very good though and we enjoyed the meal.
This was a good place for dinner. We had a meal here the first night and both enjoyed cooking our proteins on the stone. Great concept. The patio is fabulous to people watch and take in the wonderful night air. We also got an unexpected "show" the night we had dinner. Apparently the locals get easily bored and rev up and peel out in their cars right on the little strip in front of the cafe. We both got a kick and good laugh.
Love this place. Came here twice in our trip to Aruba. Very original that you get to cook your food on hot stones. Food and staff are amazing!
This is a decent place. A bit of a gimmick but the steak is decent. Some people in group didnt like the idea of having to cook their own steak but I enjoy it personally, it is one of the better steaks on the island and you do get to cook it exactly how you like it. Its really a personal preference if you wouldnt enjoy cooking your own food on a hot stone then maybe another steak restaurant would be a better choice.
The food was Outstanding!! We ate here about 20 years ago, and it did not disappoint! My surf & turf was excellent! Only hiccup... we were with a large group with a few separate checks and it took over 45 minutes to sort out the bills because we werent sitting next to each other.
Currently 2 hours into dinner and have only received bread, water and half of our appetizers. For the price and the expectation level, this is truly unacceptable with the other restaurant options around. The cooking stone gimmick is a nice feature Im sure, however, the service makes the experience. This place truly missed the mark.
Delicious & unique experience to cook on hot stones. This was do good that we went twice during our time o Aruba. Filet or shrimp were best choices; chicken cooked too fast & got too dry.
Pretty cool to cook your own food at your table on a hot stone. Delicious
Very friendly staff, strong delicious drinks and the food was fantastic. You cook your food on a hot stone at your table. Its a very interesting experience. The food tasted so good, small menu but surf and turf lovers dream.
What an experience! I had the classical surf and turf, which came out on a hot stone and it you cook it to your liking. Pretty cool! The pina colada was delicious as well. My husband had the baby back ribs and really liked those. After dinner, they bring you a wet towel to clean your hands with and it smells amazing!
Compared to other restaurants on the island, Le Petite was middle of the road for me. I ordered the salmon, which comes out on a 800 degree stone and cooks while you eat. I wasnt expecting to have to fully my own meal and the Salmon wasnt seasoned. After adding some lemon, salt, and pepper...it turned out okay. My husband had the ribs but he wasnt very impressed. Nice location, nice staff, live singer, and okay food. The drinks were pretty good.
We had both dinner and breakfast here and enjoyed both. Reasonable cost and service has been greay each time. I had the shrimp and chicken on the stone! It was delicious and a great experience!! Will return and recommend to anyone who visits.
You must get the steak on the hot stone, amazing! Service was great, you will not be disappointed
The experience here was horrible. The drinks before dinner were bad, the service was way too slow, and the steaks that you cook on the hot stone were really bad. When we arrived at the front of the restaurant, the host told us how wonderful it was and a couple agreed as they were walking out. He said they cook the food at your table. I thought this meant hibachi. Too our surprise we were to cook our own. There were six of us and no one enjoyed the food or drinks. Incidentally, it took 45 minutes for our raw steaks to arrive. They know nothing about service. When I told the host that he did not tell the truth, he said see the manager. The manager was mean and argumentative which further cements my negative rating for this place. I wish there was a half star--do not waste your time or money.
