Le Millénaire - French haute cuisine restaurant in Reims, France
Great experience, sublime food and wine pairing
Nice food but the service could be improved. They were very polite but seemed stressede.
Fine dining , creative dishes...skip the wine pairings
Superb meal and attentive staff
This is in my opinion the best restaurant in Reims. The food is delicate and sophisticated, the staff is friendly and attentive. My favourite was the cheese platter- served in a traditional french way. This was the highlight of our trip, if you manage to get a table- do not think twice about going!
Good but not special. Have a feeling that it is quite commercial.Everything is fine but not what we would expect from a 1-Michelin star restaurant. However the price is lower than usual. I would not complain so much.Price - Top. 4 menu courses + 4 complementary courses for 65€.Food - good but not excellent. Some how the main dishes are very greasy. The taste was not so fine but somehow quite salty and fatty. No surprising dishes. All ingredients are just ‘too normal’Ambiance- The dining room is like a conference room for our taste. It was too bright. The paintings are not so stylish.Service -Good but not memorable. When they served the food, they sometimes explained what the food was but they sometimes didn’t. We would expect them to explain what we are going to eat and why it is so special. The weiters did their job but it is not memorable. Not so personal somehow.
Fabulous lunch with family to break journey south. We were welcomed with big smiles, terrific service and fabulous food. What a treat!
Great. The only thing missing (which would make it amazingis a terrasse.
Fabulous in every sence, the food, the wine, the service and the place
Amazing menu decouverte, 65Euros, lovely Mersault @125 euros. Fabulous food and presentation. Will return!
The food was amazing and the service was impeccable. If you are looking for a special experience I would recommend this place
Excellent food with attentive service. We had the tasting menu and the regular lunch menu. Highly recommended and will come again.
So lucky to get a table on passing by (they had been fully booked online). There was a no show, so we jumped in! Delicious food. Fabulous service. Great wines. Thank you Le Millenaire
My boyfriend and I dined here for his birthday, and we were blown away by the staff, food, and the entire meal from start to finish. We can’t recommend this restaurant more. It was an experience we’ll be talking about for years to come and the highlight of our trip. Merci beaucoup!!
After hearing about Le Millénaire for so long, I’m glad I finally got the chance to visit. Service is exquisite from the moment you enter. Very attentive and the sommelier was very impressive. Food + presentation was incredible. We opted for both dessert and cheese and did not disappoint. Well worth the visit and will be back.
Beautiful food. Lovely staff. Well deserved star. Recommend if you’re into your food.
As good if not better than it always has been wonderful!!!
Amazing meal and really good value.
We had a 4 course meal, the appatizers where good maybe a little heave. The rest of the courses where fantastic and the sommelier helped us choose our wine with some of the dishes and matched perfect. When entering the restaurant it felt really formal but the host and staff made it a pleasant experience.
We had an excellent evening with superb cuisine, staff (congratulations to the sommelierand gastronomic attitude. We surely recommend this restaurant and will be back.
Ive been dining here few times while visiting champagne Houses, therefore always with set menus. The food is spectacular, lovely presented and deliciously prepared. Service is very efficient, I always keep an extra eye for wine service, and here is always been spot on. You definitely have to enjoy the full 3+ course experience as portion are Michelin star size. (appart from desert which always seems very nice size).... Enjoy
The tasting very nice and price worth!
Great staff. The food was stupendous and good location.
Everything you expect (but dont always getfrom a Michelin starred restaurant - smart decor, unobtrusive service and fantastic food. We had a fixed menu that was great value. Would go again and again.
Really nice restaurant, cooking made to art, especially the desserts was fantastic. Two mistakes prevents 5 stars, the wine had cork which the waiter should have noticed and not tried to serve and one serving og the beef was the meat unharmonic, not tender and was only suitable for stew.the wine was replaced without any comments.
Had a nice meal here to celebrate my girlfriend and I’s anniversary. After a champagne tasting tour of the region this traditional French restaurant was a fitting end to a great trip. The gourmet tasting menu I thought was fairly reasonably priced at €110 and whilst this was not one of the best meals I’ve had, this may have been due to the fact that I prefer a less traditional menu. Whilst great every now and then, I am not a huge fan of sweat meats and an large courses of foie gras. One final thing to note is that at 30 we did feel very young there and I wonder whether this is also reflective of the traditional menu and atmosphere of the restaurant. Most diners seemed to be 70+ which is not a negative but perhaps hints at the target clientele.A lovely evening (hence the 4*but a bit too traditional for my tastes.
The restaurant is beautifully designed and decorated with contemporary art, and unlike some haute establishments, compliments its elegance with great comfort and warmth. Our party of four adults and a 3 year old visited for lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary as well as a birthday. We had the very reasonable priced Discovery lunch menu for the adults, and a beautifully prepared plate of fish and fresh vegetables for our child. The adult dishes were all you might hope for, fine fresh ingredients, artfully prepared, delivering classic French specialties in an innovative style. The dishes were unique and perfect in every way.The childs meal was the surprise, as although it presented a vibrant color pallet we expected her to simply pick at the rather generous plate of food, but once she had been visited by the Chef, she ate every delicious morsel! The chef visited the tables multiple times during the lunch service and it was clear that there were many regulars. As a family with a young child we were made very welcome. We will visit again when in the area, but the experience, quality and value are such that if we lived in the region, we would be regular diners. We chose the desert with the Discovery menu and have no regrets, but I have to comment that the cheese selection looked to be phenomenal. We left more than replete but I will also try the cheese on our next visit!
From the reception, through the service to the food, every bit deserves its 1 Star Michelin. The only small imperfection is the lemon pie at the dessert time, it is too sour, but it doesn’t affect our appreciation over all.
Amazing food and Champagne. Should definitely try the Duvall LeRoy Champagne. Service was friendly even in English. Merci again
The restaurant despite being nicely decorated (in a modern minimalistic way, probably Japanesehas some issues. First of all, the lights are way too white for a pleasant dinner. Also, in my opinion, the place screams for a better chef de rang, someone really into the position to organize things there. Also I noticed an annoying negligence in the restaurant materials (different types of ice buckets, the waiters wearing different colors of sanitary masks, the tablecloths with signs of being packed and not ironed after). The food was great, without blowing my mind, things that I would expect in a Michelin starred restaurant. The faults are not big, but I was a bit disappointed as I was expecting more from this restaurant.
Food is amazing!!! Everything very well decorated and tasty! We did the tasting menu and it’s already lots of food.
The service was impecable and the food was great and very well presented.I had as a main course the sea bass and it was very delicious.Nice wine list and deserts, will return here if in the area in the future.
Delicate and exquisite. The ambiance and expertise of the staff has not only meet our expectations but exceeded all elements. Thank for making our evening.
Huge disappointmentWe called on the phone and told them that I can only eat gluten free. While noted, nobody knew that I can not eat gluten so were served with the first amuse bouche that contained gluten. The menu was also full of items containing gluten. After asking, There was no alternative given other than 2 items from the a la cart menu. While being disappointed that it was not taken care of in terms of offering alternatives and the staff knowing which guest is affected by food intolerances, I got served food with gluten again and again and again. While asking if the breadcrumbs that were in the amouse bouche contained gluten the waiter said no. I didnt eat it and I still think that was a big lie. Also after getting served some canélé for desert I asked if it contained gluten (which I knew it does obviouslyI was told no. Only after reiterating that I cannot eat that I got served an alternative. One of the waiters made obvious comments about that issue that makes guest generally feel uncomfortableThe wine that was served was not poured for tasting. As a guest you totally felt overlooked and not valued at all.A michelin starred restaurant has to know upfront which guests need to be catered for. This was an unacceptable experience and I wont recommend that restaurant to anybody.
Good food and wines, very light setting, menu is nice, not much flexibility but well balance, good sommelier
If you book a wine tour, have them include this restaurant.
I loved my diner at le millénaire and rate 4/5 for my dinner menu of 59 euros.Place: elegant decoration without being cold, cutlery too plain for my tasteService: staff helpful and pleasant, a little bit slow during courses (2 hours for entrée/fish/meat/dessert)Food: Appetizers: puff with cauliflower cream, biscuit with squid ink jelly, butternut soup with squash oilEntrée: Porched egg, mushroom cream, with spinach, sabayon de champagne and dried duck. Pleasant mix of flavours.Main courses: Pike cake with crayfish sauce, with prawns, spinach and mushrooms=> prawns has a firm and fine texture, adding complexity to the whole dish. While pike cake not as impressive as i expected.Pork belly cooked at low temperature with lentil of champagne, nice presentation, pork is tender and fits well with the sauce.Dessert: snickers of millénaire, peanuts coated with caramel, light custard pistachio. innovative and well executed, successful in terms of aesthetic and flavour. I recommand.
Proper French fine dining, good service and old-fashioned cheese trolley, thoroughly recommended
For the food& service were good :)
I visited there for dinner and had 4 corse menu. Especially duck was delicious with good sauce. It had amazing selection of wines where we only chose the bottom one but still very good. As we have small kids, the server offered some small dishes like grilled chicken and fish with mash potatoes. This offer was very helpful for us as we have not prepared enough food for our small kids.
Exceptional service and the entrees were very good. The main courses and deserts were it quite as good as the entrees but overalls very good experience.
10 out of 10. Great food and great service
Had a fantastic lunch at Le Millenaire today. The food and service was excellent and wines by the glass well chosen and not overly expensive (10 euro per glass). Highly recommend the egg with smoked haddock, the swordfish and the veal as they were all superb. For 37 Euro a head plus wine, anyone looking for a nice laid back restaurant in Reims should visit this establishment.
We had a lunch here in the last week of August, and took the 55euro menu. Although the place is quite spacious, there were only 2 other tables, so we had all the waiters attention. Good food quality, nice portions, there were some very nice wines by the glass (10 euro), but no real assorted ones. Good but expensive coupe de champagne (15 euro).
Easily the best meal we had in Reims - do yourself a favor - just order the set menu and prepare to be amazed - it’s expensive but to be honest after eating we would have paid even more! The service is perfect and attentive but not intrusive - a solid wine and champagne list — and amazing food! Just enjoy it!
Fantastic! Amazing service, top class food and even a visit fromThe Chef. We had lunch on Christmas Day which seems to be a tradition at this restaurant. It was sublime! The desert s, the mains and the little surprises in between were all exceptional.
Even though this is a Michelin one star, I was not dazzled by the food. The 3 star rating is because I cant help but compare it to the Italian restaurant called feel como. The food was good yes, however i didnt get a sense of passion as I did in Italy. Maybe its the difference in culture but... all in all a good place to eat when in reams and have the experience.
Millénaire is a Michelin rated 1-star restaurant. It is difficult to understand how that happened. First, the restaurant was 10-15 degrees Celsius warmer than was comfortable. Men who had worn jackets, immediately took them off and rolled up their shirt sleeves.Service was good, but not great and certainly not Michelin star quality. The restaurant serves a delicious crusty bread and so there are often crumbs on the place setting. These were not cleared until the very end of the meal (I know its splitting hairs, but these sort of things are what a Michelin star depends on).The food was good, but not extraordinary. The one consoling consideration is that the 4 course prix fixe menu price I selected was very reasonable and the wine pairings by the glass prices were also very reasonable.Aside from sweltering through the meal, I would probably have given it 5 stars (crumbs notwithstanding). I suppose I should have worn a t-shirt and jeans like some of the other customers and been comfortable, but I tried to show respect for their hard work to obtain that Michelin star and dressed accordingly.
Fantastic food and experience. Being a Michelin star restaurant a higher price point should be expected. We did a 5 course menu for €53 and got 7 courses instead. The wine and champagne lists were exquisite.Staff were very friendly and helpful.Recommended for travelers to Reims.
We had a very pleasant evening, the food was delicious and the service was just right. Well deserved Michelin star, specially the menus (we did the 35 and 53 eurosat this price point. Will recommend to my friends and probably come back.
