Le Grütli in Lausanne

Firstly, they recommended us exactly what we wanted to choose for eating. However, the service was really disappointing, as we ordered first from others and they served us much later than them. They offered blankets to the locals but not to us. The worst thing was the fact that we ordered cheese fondue and they didn’t serve us potatoes and pickles as it was written at the menu and as it was served to others. Too expensive for the quality of the food. It was really a disappointing choice.

Straight in the center of Lausanne, a traditional place offering a very well done fondue which is a real pleasure to eat. Very good and kind service.

Awesome place, delicious meals and really nice family business.The service is very good and all traditional swiss meals are available. Very well located in an authentic building at the heart of the old town, facing beautiful historic stairs that will lead you straight to the top of Lausanne and its cathedral.

The vitello tonnato was so good!

Nice food. Big portions. Beautiful terrace. The inside of the restaurant is a bit dated but I guess thats part of the charm. Try to seat outside

Stopped here for dinner after visiting the cathedral. Very welcoming host, great atmosphere with a good mix of tourists and locals. Service was prompt and friendly and the food was excellent. Well worth a visit.

Nice but the service was too pushy to finish eating. There are other places better than this one.

It was a nice place with fast service. Good meal, drink, friendly workers, and beautiful environment. You can try to check their restaurant yourself to catch some fun there yourself.

The place is really nice, in the city center and we didn’t have to wait to get in. They checked our vaccine certificate with the ID, which I appreciated a lot. The food was tasty and in big portions. Prices in the range, but what stepped out was the entire atmosphere and the amazing staff. They are extremely nice and the service is quick and great! I rarely give 5 stars but this place really deserves it! I strongly recommend it!

We had a great fondue experience here at Grütli 😁 the server was friendly and helpful with us, and made good recommendations for our party. The menu has English notes as well, which was great.Dried beef, fondue, wines were a great pairing and tasty dinner.I would want to return again soon to try the tomato fondue!

Only two kinds of fondue available. Service in general should really be better but we were lucky and got a young lady who was very nice. Otherwise food is good (in terms of Swiss kitchen).

Loved this place, a small group of us went for dinner. It had a great atmosphere inside and the staff were friendly. The food was lovely and the wine was great. Wanted to go in here a few times and finally we did I am glad we did. Thank you.

I was looking for a family run cheese fondue restaurant, akin to my childhood experiences in Switzerland. This didn’t disappoint. After walking out of one particularly tourist-trap rum fondue house, I found this gem. The lady who runs the establishment with her husband were warm and friendly. The cheese fondue was fantastic. And the meat plates, though I didn’t order one, looked delicious. Look no further. Come here.

We were at the restaurant just before they closed for lunch service and had the cheese fondue. The cheese definitely had a punch to it as it has some alcohol in it.Was pretty much like a full meal even though it’s just bread dipped in cheese. Overall was a charming experience. Kudos to the server who was accommodating and got the Chef to still cater to us before they close for their split shift.It’s right off the Palais De Rumine and amongst the Main Street of shops and restaurants.

Ive tried their moitié-moitié fondue and tomato fondue; both were really good. Their staff is really friendly and nice. I personally didnt like their dessert menu.

Great fondue! One between two is fine and leaves room for dessert. You can get 1.5 portions if you ask which will more than enough

Its hard to put into words just how amazing the experience here is, we came early, were warmly greeted by the Willi & Heike. Do yourself a favour and take their recommendations! Our wine was perfectly matched and from the local region, the food and even they way best to experience it was provided. This surpasses being a family cafe if you embrace their openness you walk out with one of the best meals in Europe but new friends

Charming restaurant with a traditional feel. Although very busy and being part of a large group whilst on business in Lausanne, the service was excellent. We had a traditional cheese fondue - enjoyable and fun.

Honestly best fondue and bresaola and grison in lausanne. Family run and friendly owners. One of my fave dinners out.

Great fondue for a reasonable price. Service is fast and friendly. Wine is rather expensive, the cheapest bottle of white comes at more than 40chf.

This has been a staple of mine for excellent fondue as long as I have been coming to Lausanne. Grutli is always busy but never so full that they cant accommodate one more. Their traditional fondue is excellent but, if you want to walk on the wild side, try the fondue a la tomate.

The fondue is not the best, but its still so good! Its small, so when it gets crowded is difficult to listen to others, but the ambience is cozy and the staff friendly.

Only went there once. The staff is very welcoming and efficient. The owner is a good lad wandering around and chatting with customers. Not the best fondue place in Lausanne but definitely a place Ill go back to try other meals.Service :)Food :)Atmosphere :)
