Intimate, stone-lined haunt featuring a full bar, plus live jazz music in a former medieval dungeon.
Le Caveau des Oubliettes in Paris
Description
Privilege
Cool vibe but have to pay cash to go into the cave part and the toilet door doesnt lock
MoreGreat little spot to have a few drinks and listen to some music. Real authentic music place
MoreWhat a lovely 2 hours we spent down there! Entrance costed 8€ and beers in the basement cost either 8€ or 12€. The place is very cozy, not so many table, and the artists were soooo good! It was a jam session. I’d come back deffo!
MoreSHUT, Twice! We trekked across Paris to get here twice based on the reviews and opening times on Google. Both times completely shut. I cant comment on the club, but pretty annoyed!
MoreGreat random find. Superb jazz band on in the basement. Tad hot but lots of drinks available to cool you down. Interesting and dark history to this place. Well worth a visit.
MoreGreat music !julien and the band were amazing .but the drinks were not that awesome though
MoreWonderful energy and great live music
Saw a great performance here. Loved the vibe, very welcoming. We were basically one with the band who encouraged us to play maracas and clap along. Service was excellent. Warm, friendly atmosphere.
MoreWe visited the soul jam session which was very nice. Good musicians in the band with a friendly attitude.
MoreReally good place, and great for music. But during the concert drinks are really too expensive.
MoreAmazing music, good vibes, nice people.
Cool jazz bar located on a basement floor. Sign mentions 1450.. Tickets are very afordable, but drinks are bit above average 🥂
MoreAmazing band with good drinks and private and cosy atmosphere. Artists stayed awhile to talk with everyone.
MoreBest experience in 10 days. Cute dungeon ambience. Great music. Unique experience in the Latin Quarter. Fabulous, large cheese tray. Excellent service and erudite conversation with Antoine the bartender.
MoreAmazing spot in the Latin Quarter. The drinks are a little more pricy than what might be considered standard, but the quality of music and the atmosphere more than makes up for it. Cant wait to go back.
MoreA wonderful venue. Enjoyed a fantastic evening of blues from skilled musicians.
Zero star. Extremly crowded. They showed our place when we arrived. The table was shared with 6 people. Come on. You can’t even eat any snack. It has 5 small tables but 25 people there. Did you hear anything about covid? We stayed 3 minutes and we gave up.
MoreThe show was amazing! A jazz band who gave a 3 hours of a fantastic show! The place is very small and intimate and its like you are part of the band..I didnt like however that although you pay for the concert, you are also forced to buy a drink even if you dont want to... i didnt want any alcohol and the soft drinks were ridiculously overpriced.7.5euro for a coca cola..?Aside of that, the experience was great and I was happy to find out they check vaccination certificates at the entrance. Will defenately come back next time Im in Paris.
MoreTonight i was with my gf in this beautiful and original place enjoying a good jazz jam taking some drinks. If youre looking for live music you need to go there.
MoreOverall lovely experience! The music was top-notch! However I definitely felt the wine was way over-priced for the amount in the glass. Charcuterie platter was quite decent though! I wouldnt mind coming back! Wonderful area to be in!
MoreGreat place in the heart of the city!Wonderful life music events, my favorite is the jam sessions!
MoreLove this place! We had a great night with the best band ever
It starts with the staff at the location, David & Camela are amazing! As a newbie to Paris it was exciting to find a live music venue, and I could not have chosen a better location. Please, dont let the stairs frighten you, what awaits you downstairs is fantastic music, friendly staff and the warm people of Paris, France. The wine and mixed drinks are top notch. I HIGHLY recommend that if youre in Paris, that you visit. If youre not happy after leaving, send youre drink bill and Ill pay the tab. 😉
MoreGreat spot to enjoy an inexpensive drink or two with good live music. It’s a great deal! I love the small space and thought the musicians were very talented. I didn’t feel out of place being there alone and also think it’d be a great place for a date, though maybe not a group of people as it’s small (in a good, cozy way).
MoreCool place to listen to some quality live music, mostly blues/jazz/rock n roll genre. Dont let the empty upstairs fool you, the cavern downstairs gets very packed even on a Sunday night. Admission is free as long as you buy a drink, but you really feel that admission ticket price in the drinks cost because theyre heavily marked up. The room downstairs is quite small and seating is limited.
MoreGreat jazz, fun atmosphere. Music is free, drinks are a bit pricey, but id come again.
MoreThis is a very small venue. On the night I went, they were playing mostly blues and jamming versions of disco hits. There are 2 other monitors showing the performers upstairs and in a side cave. There is no entrance fee but there is a minimum buy of one drink per set. So the drinks are pricey.
MoreBand was the best part.. We paid for seats on New Years Eve to see the band however they over sold the venue. They told us there was no room for us and we would have to sit upstairs and watch the band on TV. Most of the staff was very rude. Seriously this place was not on its game that night. First impressions.
MoreGreat little spot (located in a pre-revolution dungeon). Feels intimate with jazz band. Great sound, loud but not deafening. No dinners served, but if you can get by with a nice charcuterie platter, then they serve it up well.
MoreKiller atmosphere, amazing amount of people in a small space (in a good way), great music from very talented musicians. Also a friendly mix of locals/French speakers and a few tourists. Wish we were around for longer to go back.
MoreGreat venue. The band was incredible and the sound was excellent. We went on a blues night but I’m sure the Jazz is as good. We got drinks via table service during the gig. The drinks are expensive but the entry was free when we went so it evens itself out in my opinion.
MoreQuaint little jazz bar with good music, people, and ambience. Not as touristy compared to the other jazz bars around Saint-Germain.
MoreI went there because I was looking for some live music and was pleasantly surprised. The staff were very good service was excellent and the environment is brilliant but most of all I got to see a really good band and some comedy which I wasnt expecting. Id go there again. Highly recommend it.
MoreFantastic venue. Come early for a good seat Music for recent blues night was incredible. Service is solid. Hope to return many times.
MoreAwesome place filled with blues/jazz live music. You need to go and experience the atmosphere. I recommend to come earlier before concert because the place can get crowded really fast.
MoreBlues/jazz bar with free entrance and live music every evening... When the music is playing prices of drinks are higher to compensate the free entrance and you have to order atleast one. But the music is very good. I came at 21:15 and there was last two or three places to sit. Its was crowded but thats understandable. When theres a lot of people the air is getting really hot. Over all the bad things i might say about it... The music was very good and i enjoyed the bar very much!
MoreWent there on a Sunday night, vibes are very cool, theres was a concert and then a blues jam session, many musicians were there to play, it was awesome.Downsides : it is waaayyy too loud in the small concert room, the panel was saying 115dB on average but that didnt seem to upset anyone, I strongly advise you to come here with earplugs. Otherwise they do have tv screens casting the show live so that you can appreciate the music and the musicians in quieter rooms. The drinks are insanely expensive (ex : Grimbergen pint was 12€but thats the price you pay to get good music and good vibes 😎
MoreI LOVED this place. Full of locals and live band on Saturday night. The cave is super small so we where too 25 people watching the performance. We paid 24€ for the whole bottle of wine and no cover. The performance was in English which was Great!!!! We felt very welcomed here
Moremy favorite jazz spot in Paris. The atmosphere is definitely that of a cool basement but the music is worth it. Get there early or between sets for a seat and there is a drink minimum. Great place to relax and listen to jazz.
MoreTheir open mic/jazz show is well worth the visit! We came on a Sunday, easily got a table (1 drink per set), and heard incredible jazz in English, French, and Portugese.
MoreReally great blues and jazz bar where you can enjoy a live concert for the price of a drink ! It is better to arrive before the concert starts to be seated down in the room and fully enjoy the band.
MoreHad a great time in the caveau listening to good music, and drinking a bottle of wine. Its a bit cramped, and the drinks arent cheap, but its a fun night. Just opposite the bar is a really good Ethiopian restaurant.
MoreCool intimate jazz club. Great musicians on the night we were there. Pricey beer but no entrance fee so definitely worth a visit
MoreNice place, live music very good.
Outstanding, fantastic and brilliant. Dont care about the price of the drinks, free entry to this awesome little jazz bar with the most talented musicians and friendliest of French makes the cost more than worth it. If you love jazz and want an outstanding experience do not miss this one!
MoreA very nice and very intimate jazz club. My wife and I had the chance to chat with David, one of the owners. He gave us up front seating for a very good band. A really nice evening!
MoreCouldnt decide where to go for some live music and ended up going here. Very happy we ended up in this little cellar with wonderful band playing. Would recommend this place and would definetly come back. The only downside is that drinks are pretty expensive.
MoreAs far as prices go its a bit more higher than other pubs around paris usually are but offer a nice beer selection which were usually all stocked during my visits. Although its not the nicest one around its decent place to stop by but I wouldnt spend a game here, there are so many other bars//pubs around paris with a more inviting amotosphere for lower price.
MoreGreat blues plays in the cave downstairs. A bit crampt and no room to dance, but the music makes it worth it. Gets completely full Saturday nights.
MoreGreat underground dungeon converted into jazz club. Very very full, be prepared for that. Waiters doing there best to find a place to step within the packed audience.
