Le Broken Plate - Restaurant in Phnom Penh, Cambodia
What a pleasant surprise! Creative fusion style food - European, Japanese and even Khmer cuisine in a wonderful combination of taste and arrangement. Reasonable prices for the quality of the food. Very attentive service. Highly recommend this place.
Came here for dinner. The chef was very friendly and spoke to us for quite a while. He even served us his homemade ice cream. Super nice! Food portion was huge here especially the fried rice.
Came here for dinner with my wife, and everything about this place was fantastic. From the food, to the service, and to owner was a fabulous host. We opted for the Le Broken Plate tasting menu, and felt we definitely got our money’s worth. Highly recommended for special occasions or for a great night out.
Narith Plong is the best and kindest chef in the world. Excellent food and wisdom served. We will never forget your fantastic place and your loving welcome. 10 stars.
Super delicious and large portions! The 60$ tasting menu is definitely enough for 3 people. A nice change of type of food after lots of Cambodian!
Great lunch. Had the $16 Set menu and it was superb. Really fresh ingredients with a Cambodian twist on Sushi.
Wow! What a wonderful find this was. Beautifully presented, high quality food. Sushi was fabulous!
Excellent food quality. Fresh ingredients. Service could afford to be more friendly
The quality and freshness of food was excellent. The oysters were fresh and delicious. Will definitely come back next time we visit Phnom Penh.
The place is absolutely amazing. Everything is in the right place. You can watch how they cook. The owner is a real gentleman. The food was a dream coming true. One of the beautiful experiences in the whole Southeast Asia.
Everything was perfect!
Fresh good with great food decoration. Recommended by my best friend and need to give thumb up. Just only one tiny thing to improve, wasabi, hope it can be more spicy.
Good sushi but be ready to wait a long time. The service is extremely slow
This place is amazing! The food is of absolutely great quality. Best food I had in Cambodia by far.
I was thrilled to dine at Le Broken Plate, food is fresh, delicious and prettily plated. Portions are generous. I ordered the surf and turf bento which doesnt look like a bento but more like a 4 course meal!
The food that this restaurant serves is amazing! But even the word amazing does not do it justice. We ordered the tasting menu for 2 persons. We have enjoyed every course so much. All dishes were individual pieces of art. The fish was the freshest and best I have ever had (anywhere else in the world). Both fish and meat just melted in my mouth. I would recommend each connaisseur to enjoy this amazing food. The price does not do the quality and all the love that has been put in it justice. When you wish to spend less than the $60 for the tasting menu, you will also be amazed by the other dishes. I had lunch a few times too and it was mouthwatering good as well. I simply fell in love with this place and its modest host and chef: Mr Narith Plong.
Food was bad, all the sushi was not fresh, this place has gone down hill. Well, there are more places that have better sushi. Have I mentioned about the obnoxious owner? Avoid. Last time, fa sure!
Food was ok, I ordered the $60 chef menu and no one told me it was for 2 people so I couldn’t finish them all. Staff service was very poor, I need to ask 3 staff and 1 chef just to answer how many kinds sashimi in that set. And I don’t know why there was no wasabi for my sashimi platter and needed to ask for it also 😴😴😴
Fantastic sets of dinner menus, thanks to Mr Sarady to bring me into this great taste restaurant. Picture just a small part of great experience..how it tastes beyond my expectation..great food!!!.
Unbelievable. You would pay $120 for what costs $30 in this restaurant.
Pictures dont do the experience justice, the food is amazing! Atmosphere and service are on par, the tasting menu at $60 that feeds at least 2 people is spectacular value for money and such a joy to eat, course by course. So much care and attention to detail is what you feel in every dish and the owner and chef is a warm and gracious host.
Hands down best sushi place in Phnom Penh! Fusion cuisine mixing different cooking techniques. You go there for the experience and quality of their product.
Fantastic tasting menu, one of the best meals I have had in Phnom Penh.
I am very glad I found this restaurant, luckily for me it was just around the corner from where I stayed. It was a culinary exploration for me. The menu is very elaborate, the dishes are beautifully presented and come with nicely arranged side dishes. Every dish I tried was like going down to the rabbit hole (in a good sense). There is a wine list, a choice of sake and beers. Its a sit down place but you can also choose the spot around the kitchen or a bar and watch the chefs cook. Its quite a spacious restaurant, its well air-conditioned.And the last thing that makes it so special is their careful staff and a very attentive and caring owner which makes you feel very welcome.
Fusion done well. The lunch menu offers a great selection of tasty bits. We even had French oysters! The staff are friendly and the host is welcoming. The whole ambience is wonderful and relaxing. There is no rush. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We will be back!
This place is amazing. Super delicious food and great service. Love it.
Walked passed this place and saw the google ratings was pretty high, so I walked in and gave it a shot. Awesome staff, great food. Great attention to details , will come back for sure! 👌🏽👌🏽😀
It’s amazing to sit at the bar counter watching the chief cooking the foods, very fresh seafood. We only ordered one set plus a lamb rack for both of us. It’s a bit challenging for the parking fyi.
A great place in Phnom Penh to get quality food with nice presentation and taste. The portion sizes are quite generous and its a great place to bring friends or a date.
Nice ambience and great services... Food are customized and taste interestingly
An absolutely wonderful surprise! Had an awesome and intense experience with simple food such as the panfried duck with a lovely banana leaf salad and the mixed mushrooms with chili! Simply wonderful!
Totally worth the visit. Do the set menu and you will be very full. There are timing issues though so must manage your expectations there.
Thank you for a brilliant evening of amazing food! Such a pleasure to dine here & taste the passion!
You immediately feel comfortable as soon as you enter a the decor is inviting and the staff is welcoming. Narith delivers beautifully crafted dishes that are tasty and stunning. All the ingredients are high quality and a mix of local and foreign. Its a tad pricey but worth it!
Le Broken plate, reccomended by one of my friend in Singapore. Reservation reccomended for weekends and do ask for Bar seats. This is one of my best solo trip to dine alone at Le broken plate, I made reservations on my hotel and asked to have a slot at the restaurant bar.The chef prepared most of the dishes on the bar counter and you get to interact with him.Food is really good, very big portions and its a mixture of Japanese and Khmer fusions omakase. Salmon and oyster dishs was my favorite.Service: The staff do speak basic English and the chef makes all the decisions. If you required somethings, the chef is all out to accommodate your request.Location: alittle turn off by the area as theres is too many club, pub and the street are dirty. Do have your own transportation if you going to there. I believed theres is no dress code.Price: I ordered the $40 USD menu and base on the food quality, quantity and overall experience. I do reccomended if you want to experience Omakase dining.Overall experience: highly recommended if you are looking for seafood and omasake experience. I will reccomend to my friends if they are here for holiday.
The best ever and i found it in cambodia ? LOL
Brilliant original creative and highly skilled
Without a doubt the best food I have eaten in Phnom penh. The fision of different culinary schools all prepared at a very high level by a young Cambodian chef/owner who trained in Japanese French Italian and his own native cuisine is a wonderful experience
There’s something magic about this place. Top level seafood/fish, owner is a great host, great playlist.
Le Broken Plate is fantastic. Imagination rules at the this restaurant. My suggestion is don’t eat all day before dining and get the full tasting menu. They make edamame delicious. From sashimi to soups to beef to lamb to oysters to desserts—each course seemingly better than the one before. An eclectic wine list with amazing wine at inexpensive prices and a staff whose purpose is to serve with excellence— I can come up with nothing for improvement—unless it would be smaller courses so you don’t need to waddle out at the end of a superb dining experience. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. My only regret is that I didn’t dine here every night I was in Phnom Penh.
6:45 pm arrived to be bluntly told they were “full” for today. Only three people seated. Front door was NOT signed as closed or private function. Very low brow of a place internationally recommended. I returned asking for owner recommendations. He sent me to a non sushi restaurant. Disappointed.
Packed with high so locals mostly, Japanese-Khmer dinner menu only - mostly raw, good produce, especially the Crab and Prawns, locally sourced. Not a big fan of Norwegian salmon due to the toxics, this one was very tender indeed but then again... I usually avoid salmon as the Japanese do ...Chef is very charismatic returnee from Canada
very good test, but not in true Japanese style.
An exceptional restaurant run by a passionate energetic chef and personality. Each guest is made to feel very welcome and for the best experience sit at the bar and watch the food be prepared by the team. The Omikase menu had a very varied choice of tastes and textures and the sashimi dishes stand out for me. The menu is regularly changed so who knows what food magic will adorn your plates if you decide to go.Phnom Penh has some of the best food we have eaten in South East Asia and this restaurant offers inventive fusion cuisine mixing Cambodian and Japanese flavours with flair. Amazing restaurant with an equally enjoyable host.
Do yourself a pleasure and visit this place if in Phnom Penh.Food is delicious, a cultural mix between Japanese and Khmer cuisine, the sale is genuine and the music and athomsphere are on point!A MUST GO!!!!! :)
Great experiencers and good food!
A great fusion of khmer flavors and American/Japanese prep work. 5 stars because chef displays great passion for his food and sources his ingredients from throughout the country and let their flavors shine in his food.
Good foods from local ingredients. The chef is very friendly and speak fluent English and French. You have to make a reservation ahead to get your seat.
Amazing dinner with Mr Narit cutting some of the best sashimi ever. Really cool place and top notch food. Highly recommended.
A great surprise in a boring street. A kind of fusion cuisine: Khmer, Japanese, French and more. The success of this place stands and falls with its unique chef and owner Narith.
