How the hell is this one of the highest grossing restaurants? Location location location. Everything else subpar. Service was very slow. The girl sitting next to us was live steaming her meal. Shoot me now. Even her friend wanted to die. The food was okay, almost as good as my mommas sauce. They gave me the wrong entree at first but quickly resolved it. The frozen espresso martini was way to thick to even drink. It was crazy loud and very cramped. Gotta keep those revenues up.

Awesome food and great ambiance but found limited selection of cocktails and the service could improve.Highlight would be the espresso martini!

Food was great! We were a party of 4 and tried different types of Pasta, all were extremely fresh and very delicious! Our waiter was very nice and helpful as well. Loved the ambiance, the music, the decor, overall great place for a dinner night out !

Had a really wonderful time, the ambiance is super calming and nice. We had a great server by the name of Leo. The penne alla vodka with shrimp was absolutely amazing. Definitely recommend this place

I’ve been here many times. It’s an alright place, very loud, like a bar/lounge but in a restaurant. Usually you do need a reservation. The bar area is smaller than the main restaurant area but regardless it’s always crowded and loud. Food itself is fine, nothing exquisitely unique. They did a better job with TAO, dishes that you keep coming back for and that you can’t find anywhere else.

EVERYTHING WAS GREAT. L AST NIGHT DINNER, SERVICE, AMBIANCE, ETC. NICOLETTE AGOSTO IS A GREAT MANAGER AND KIND HOST. TAO GROUP SHOULD GIVE HER A RAISE. THE WHOLE STAFF WAS GREAT REALLY

We had our company anniversary dinner here. Food was great; friendly staff but the music in background was super loud thst we couldnt talk and listen to each other easily.

Awful experiencie. Party of five with my kids. Waited 50 minutes and the food never came. The manager Nichole, treated us very disrespectfully and confronted me as if I were asking for a miracle. They were completely rude, and the service was poor. Finally we left the place without eating after 50 minutes. The manager Nichole didn’t offer even to stay and wait. She just left is leave unfed. That’s not the way a 100 dollar ticket restaurant should treat clients. Will never come back and will discourage anyone O know to go. There’s plenty of great offers in the city.

We had such a good experience here. The server was very friendly and personable! The wine was great value and delicious for price. We had the Vongole pasta and the parmigiana di melanazane with the wild mushroom side and all were really tasty. The focaccia bread to start was a winner!

We had a 10:30 reservation and did not sit until 11:25. Maybe it was because it was a Saturday night? But the restaurant was packed, the bathroom line for the women was 15 minutes long, and the waiters kept on telling us to move while we were waiting so that they can get through. For an expensive price, this shouldn’t be the case.

Good quality food and drinks, but VERY much overpriced. The servers were nice and the ambience was good, except for the super loud music.

Trash... if I can give it a 0 star rating I would. Food is average at best and its overpriced. The drinks are watered down. The Service is atrocious, The staff was very rude and careless. Honestly Never again. I do not recommend this place.There are much better places to spend your money. Like olive garden... seriously thats how bad it is.

My friend and I went to Lavo I enjoyed the bolognese while he was recommended a dish which he did not enjoy as much as he was expecting.

All the stars! Such a great experience, every single person was an absolute pleasure from the greeting to the goodbye. The atmosphere is perfect and so much more spacious than most other restaurants. Drinks and food were great, our waiter was attentive and overall it was one of the most enjoyable restaurant meals Ive had. We will be back! VERY AMAZING!! !❤️❤️❤️❤️

Fantastic atmosphere with great music! Delicious wedge salad and seafood alfredo.

My fiancé took me here for my birthday and it was Amazing. The meatball appetizer that is made with wagu beef and Italian sausage was great! My seafood Alfredo pasta and watermelon cocktail phenomenal. Easy to go back. The restaurant has a traditional Italian feel which is Great.

Arrived with a small group of three girls and two guys. At the door they said we couldn’t sit at a table with a black guy in our group. We were told we could go in as long as he just walked around and couldn’t sit at a table even though we were paying for entry. We decided to leave. I am floored at this type of racist energy in 2022. Please do better.

The chicken marsala was good, but it didnt taste like chicken marsala. I was in the mood for chicken marsala, but this tasted more like a Chinese brown sauce. The bread was fantastic. The meatball was great. The zepoli/fried Oreo dessert was amazing.

Waiters were a little "off". Good food, but small portions. Difficult to talk to people on the other side of rhe table because of the high volume on the music.

Trendy place over all. Younger scene overall but dont let that scare you off. Food is great and service is near the top. Not gigantic portions but food was excellent in everyway. I am guessing all menu items would be very good.

First time here, exceptional food! The "Meatball" was absolutely the best I ever had. The papardell with veal was absolutely delicious and the fried oreo zepole was beyond description. Very fair pricing and fantastic service. Cant waitvto go back

The food is amazing. Classic Italian elevated. Portions are substantial. Atmosphere is great if you can get seated away from the promoters (which you can, just ask)!

Pre-fix lunch is lovely: everything is tasty and more than enough to fed one. Steak is beautifully cooked.

The food was amazing, good portion sizes and loads of vegetarian options. However, the service is very slow. They take forever to come to your table and bring your dishes.

My experience at Lavo Resturant was very sub par. The appetizers were good and the drinks were okay. The main dishes were terrible. How do you mess up chicken parmigiana it’s the easiest thing. The server was nice but she was so busy she could not provide the proper service to our table. The busser when cleaning the table would bump into you or reach over you while your easting and just grab things. Ordered there 20 layer cake and when it came they bring it with no plates or spoons or forks. Service is really bad and what makes it worse is your paying on the high end. So my experience is that there is so many other better places then this. It’s all hype because of the name do your self a favor and don’t waste your time

Everything here was amazing! The atmosphere was great and our service was oke to brag about. I see this place as one to coke back to.

Had my batchelorette dinner here with my friend. The burratta salad was like eating a hug. The seafood Alfredo was really rich and decadent and incredible, and the cake we had for dessert was not playing around. The environment was nice, and the drinks delicious.

I recently dined here mid-week for a group work lunch. I ordered from their Lunch Pre-Fixe Menu. Its a great deal for only $29.99, which includes an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Great service, and our food did not take long to be prepared. Food servings are bigger than I expected, so I had leftovers for dinner.The restaurant is big, it was not too loud or crowded. I highly recommend this place for lunch, and I will definitely return again soon.

The waitress was very inattentive. Missed a drink order and then was curt about it. The mashed potato side dish for $13.00 was instant potatoes. We were a party of 11 and our other meals were good, except the pizza which was dry.

The food is really good but the waiters and waitresses are very rude and impolite. One of them took my plate away when I hadn’t even finished my food. My fork was still in my hand so the waiter took it too saying that “dessert was in the way”. Later, I asked for an glass of tap water and I was told it was too late (there was still 1 more hour until the closing time). Also, if you order a glass of wine, you’ll receive a ridiculous small portion.

Just visited with a group of 12 for a friends birthday. We were seated at our reservation time. Didnt get bread until 55 minutes later after I had to speak to the manager. And our group received all our meals 1.25 hrs after we sat. At that point everyone was so hangry. Pasta was bland, chicken was dry. Large portion sizes though. Food was average for what they charged. Nothing special. Do not recommend or going back.

I did not have a good experience. Their customer service is awful. I came in for a quick bite Tuesday night at 7pm and sat at the bar. Bartender wasn’t friendly but I still managed to give her a tip. The food was good but I’m not spending money at a restaurant that doesn’t value their customers; there’s plenty of great restaurants in the area. As I was leaving, the hostess, a female and male manager were at the host stand talking amongst themselves. Neither of them bothered looking in my direction as I made my way out. Great way for management to set a working example. I live in the area but I do not intend on being a repeat customer.

Lavo never disappoints! The food is amazing and the dessert is delicious. The music is always great, some days the have a DJ. This place is perfect for date night, girls night or a celebratory dinner. Always a consistent 5 stars experience here.

So we definitely had an interesting experience here lol but ill review the food first. As far as appetizers we decided to try the giant meatball and while we didnt care for the marinara sauce that came with the breadsticks, the sauce that came with the meatball was very good and we felt as though the meatball was cooked very well. I ordered the chicken marsala for my meal as well as the truffle fries and although i didnt particularly care for the fries, I thought that the sauce for the marsala was pretty good but when i was eating the mushrooms it was a little too crunchy at times as though there could have been some dirt or something. Besides that a friend that i was with had the seafood pasta i believe it was called and he enjoyed it.The icing on the cake was when it was time to go though. So after I received the bill i saw there was a qr code to pay online so I decided to give that a try so we didnt have to wait for the waiter to bring back my card. Well after successfully paying online we left the receipt there and got up and left. About seconds later the waiter comes after us asking how we are going to pay for the bill. I showed her on my phone where I did pay for the bill and shes going back a forth saying shes not sure how to close out the bill. So, im sure for some it could have been embarrassing essentially being accused of stealing, but I just thought i was kind of ridiculous to have the QR codes on the receipt but there being no communication that the bill was paid without us having been chased after, weird, but maybe its just me...

Everything is delicious here. The ingredients are top notch. The type of place you get the impression that whoever runs it is not interested in saving money with the food they serve. The only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is because the service was a bit slow. This could include the kitchen as well, not sure. The fact is that the place was far from full; We arrived at 13:30, ordered right after, and by the time we were served dessert it was already after 15hrs. Tuna tartare is a must try. Quality of their meat (be it fish or steakis divine.

Super clean. Space between all guests. Attentive staff and amazing food! Please try the lemonchello I don’t drink much but it tasted sweet and did great at masking the alcohol.

Came in for dinner during restaurant week and had really good food. For the appetizer I had the Cesar Salad which was very crunchy and tasted very fresh, for my main course I chose the Penne alla Vodka which was also delicious, the pasta was cooked to perfection, the sauce was creamy and tasty, to end i had the cheesecake which wasnt mind blowing but it was okay. My partner in crime had the Pappardelle Toscana and the Fruit plate which were good as well.

Really good music and prompt service (that unfortunately we had to continuously track down for dinner). Food was solid but the roasted potatoes were phenomenal! Worth a try but not a place I’d frequent for dinner.

This an ok however a has been spot.New York has a lot better to offer.This place is surfing on its past glory.The service is rehearsed smiles and plenty of “how is everybody doing” however falls short on actually paying attention.Taste wise the food was ok however the truffle gnocchis were tatsteless (i guess in August they shouldn’t be offering that)While the salad was ok it was missing the apples not a biggie however another inattentive point among others.The flatbread is again ok while pappardelle was very good as well as the ny strip.The aggressive wine pour is another put off.

The food at Lavo is amazing. We had steak, oysters, and branzino. All of which were great. The service was good and our waiter was friendly. The restaurant is really busy almost all the time so expect a bit of a wait get seated.You get admission to the club next door of you have dinner at the restaurant.The reason that Lavo doesnt get five stars is because there are a lot of birthday announcements. There were seven or eight interruptions for birthdays which diluted the quality of the dining experience.

An expensive restaurant worth every penny! 💰 The food here is delicious! The margaritas 🍹here are some of the best in town! I drink only margaritas and Lavos are amazing. The 20 layer chocolate/ peanut butter cake🎂🍫 is amazing and delicious. The spaghetti marinera 🍝with basil was finely done right. Large chunks of tomatos🍅. So delicious! The appetizer selection was nice. Delicious parmesan cheese that was not too salty. Pickled vegetables that werent too sour! The oysters were amall but tazty!

Let me say that Lavo is a must while in New York. When you are dining at this level, this is as good as it gets. All hammers are hitting the right notes like a symphony.Starting with the complimentary appetizers. Dont get me wrong this was an expensive meal. The bread in the foil was heated and properly buttered and seasoned. The marinara was excellent. The olives had an oil and Parmesan dressing. The hummus was fresh the pickled cauliflower was excellent.We started off with the eggplant Parmesan. Off the chart.We had the chicken Parmesan as the entree. Thinly pressed out, with a light breading. Perfectly seasoned with a garlicky background. The cheese was a thin layer melted with a wonderful light cheesy flavor.The tiramisu was heavenly, with real lady fingers for a garnish.
