Laurie Dee's Hamburgers & Frozen Custard in Bundoora

I just realised I have been a loyal customer of laurie dees for over 5 years and have never left a review! Tonight I came and as always staff and food were amazing! Boss is always a pleasure and the atmosphere is always the best❤️

Some of the best burgers in Melbourne! Definitely worth the 1 hour drive to get here!Sadly though, they have changed from shoestring fries to regular fries and the Chili cheese fries are definitely not as good as they used to be.

Theres Only one chicken burger on the menu. Overall a good place.

Best burgers in the state, have found some good competition but none as good as Laurie Dees in my opinion. Friendly service too, Lawrence took time out of his day to have a chat to my daughter. We will continue to go back to Lauries for their delicious food! Thanks guys!

Burger soggy, fries had no crisp to em and the $4.70 regular portion I got was pitifully small. If youre going to give people such a dismal amount fries for the price at least advertise them as small, not regular

I have eaten here before and it wasnt very nice, stail bread, oily food and took foreveeer to get our order....However we ate here the other night and it was quite nice! Fresh food even though it still took a while to get our orders still...

Overpriced. Chilli is very bland and tastes like pie filling. Cheeseburger was too sweet and the bacon was leathery and flavourless. The burger made fresh was nearly cold too. Wouldn’t return.

This is my favourite burger place! Ive tried independent and big company burger stores, but I cant stop thinking about their burgers and shakes. The burger meats are crispy and thin and not thick and heavy feeling after you eat it.

I was sceptical of just another American diner, but I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and service from the staff

This restaurant’s manager has aggressive behaviour , they made our order wrong and they were rude to us after that we got the crispy chicken burger the patty was not cooked very raw , not recommended at all!!

Juicy smash patties, perfectly cooked and the best milkshakes/frozen custard I’ve ever tried.It’s not hard to believe that Laurie Dee’s has maintained its position in the top 10 burgers of Melbourne since 2012. Well deserved.

Laurie Dees has always been the best place to grab a bite to eat however they really need to work on the preparation and cook times because 30 minutes wait time for fast food is very poor servicePlease get your act and speed together then they will earn a true 5 star rating

Went with friends to chat and catch up, great atmosphere with a chill vibe. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was not that great, not much value for your money

No idea how to run a business these guys. Waited 10 minutes for chips when it takes 2 minutes to cook. And there was a whole heap ready to go. I didnt like the chips at all.

Awesome place for delicious burgers. Great family dining spot for a casual bite! Good value for money. Customer service could use some work. I dont think I saw a single smile, even when greeted. But Ill rate based on the taste of food.

Best Burger joint I’ve been to. I’ve been looking for a burger joint that tastes similar to In & Out and this is delicious. Not only the burgers are yummy the fries are a perfect size and filling just right. Staff had great customer service also the restaurant was kept clean. I highly recommend this spot.

Very oily, soggy chicken burger, bun was falling apart as soon as I grabbed it, same with the Beef burger. The fried food had a slight colour of green which can only indicate how dirty the fry oil was. Chips had a weird seasoning and we only got 5 out of the 6 nuggets we ordered. Friend and I both feel uneasy in stomach after our meals.

Feels like youre having a real Burger 🍔. Good flavours and quality meat. Reminds me of Five Guys Burgers. Their concrete mix is nothing special (ice cream with selected toppings), but still delicious. Cheers

Came here on a Saturday night, wasnt too busy but there was a 30+ Min wait for any hot food including my chips. This was my first time here and Ive heard great things but my burger was extremely salty. I also ordered custard as dessert and it took 25 mins for two plain scoops. I am really disappointed and will not be coming back here again.

The burger simply melts in your mouth. Your tastebuds go into overdrive. The fries are just as delicious. Once per week I get it as takeaway for the family and they love it.

Ive been a fan for a long time.. love the burgers, concrete mixers and especially the chips!! However, you have recently changed your chips to thick ones which makes it like what the other shops has to offer except the flavour. I wish you could bring back the crispy thin chips...

Definitely one of my favourite burger places. The food has always been consistently good quality. The staff are very friendly and your meal is ready within a reasonable timeframe. The frozen custard shakes are a must and its also unlimited soft drink refills.Good place for casual meet, family friendly environment and or a date.The food looked, tasted and smelt great! We will be back at Laurie Dees one day.

Very good and filling food, friendly staff who actually want to talk and this is probably the last place that still allows free refills.I come here as often as my body lets me, perfect cheat food in my opinion. Come here if youre ever at Epping plaza and wanting to leave full and satisfied.

Revised still 5* review!: WHOOPEE Laurie Dees is open again!! We travel from Doncaster to eat here! Wish they were franchised so there were other outlets! Restricted seating inside so not the same busy buzz as usual, but the burgers and fries are still fantastic. They do seem to have changed the fries since last time, they seem to be battered now and unfortunately the bottomless drink fountain has been turned of due to COVID. Staff greeted us with a smile as usual, making us feel welcome. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LAURIE DEES MANAGEMENT: Your Chilli is fantastic!! WHY dont you sell it as a dish on its own, maybe with a side salad????!!!! You already have all the ingredients, all you need is a bowl to serve it in!!Revised Review still 5*: Second time here in a few weeks and even better this time! Although much busier than our first time when there, more staff meant we were served quickly and got our meals promptly. Food was fantastic again. This time I tried the Chili Cheese Burger and it was perfect. Some of the best burgers weve had anywhere in Australia. I still hope they put that Chili as a menu item, with a small salad or some fries, on the side, NOT loaded, it would be a really excellent meal.........All the ingredients are there for it already, all you have to do is serve it!First time here 5* review: Burgers are really nice, made from freshly ground/minced in house beef. They were really tasty, well cooked and had just the right amount of sauces and toppings for a tasty, juicy burger. My son really liked the loaded fries, with Chilli and Cheese. I REALLY liked the Chilli and would like to see it as a seperate, stand alone dish with maybe a salad on the side. There are 10 different self serve Craft Sodas to choose from as well. All of us enjoyed our meal in the bright 50s style diner layout. It did take a while to get our meals, around 15 minutes even although they were only moderately busy. But all meals are cooked fresh when ordered so we werent overly fussed although they should probably let customers know how long your order will take.

This place has consistently been in my top three burger joints in Melbourne. Their burgers are simple, old school and delicious. The beef patties are hands smashed. The chips are thin and crunchy. Definitely recommend it!

Been a couple of times before a movie with friends and is an alright burger place. I find it overpriced and lacking compared to ones in the CBD.I recommend staying away from their chicken burger since its not worth it at all. But their beef burgers taste good but you can make the same smash burgers pretty easily at home.Overall a good place to get a bite to eat before a movie, but not the place if you want an amazing burger.

I ordered the chilli cheese beef burger with cheese fries and drink. Beef patty was tasty, nice texture. Bun was fresh. I ordered with jalapenos, however I found for a chilli burger with jalapenos that is was lacking spice (I provided feedback about this). I added bacon (extra $- Bacon was super crispy which impressed. Cheese fries serve was large (too much for one personand were very cheesy - eat with cutlery. Not sure what the seasoning for the fries was.To finish I ordered a Twista shake and this really was delicious. The frozen custard does add a unique texture and flavour. Kids size was ample for one person.My two qualms were the staff standing behind the counter when there was a lot of rubbish on tables that needed clearing and price was a little high. The burger, cheese fries and drink was $23+... need a meal deal option. I would go again if in the area.

A must place to be for all the burger and thick shake lovers.. The burgers are loaded with the right amount of sauces and toppings... the thick shakes are awesome.. Very reasonably priced.. Certainly going back the next time i am in Melbourne..

A diner style restaurant with a generous amount of seats and food to offer.Cheese fries - the best seasoning Ive had. Crisp chips with the most flavorful chicken salt and herbs and topped with the thickest cheese.Laurie dees burger - very crisp buns complimented with the freshest lettuce, juiciest tomato and sweetest onion. The softness of this burger is great.Again extremely juicy and a tangy hit for the relish. The hotdogs bun is so packed with filling to the point the buns struggle to hold the toppings.

The burger was on point im not much of a fan of stuffed hot dogs but this one was very good and best for last the banana split was 12/10 😍😍.

Fantastic food and great service! The burgers and drinks here are ten times better than any takeaway. Their patties arent overly processed and taste like an actual, fresh burger should. Their sodas on tap are all craft made in Victoria, and you can definitely taste the difference there too. The prices are also extremely reasonable - comparable to most takeaways for a meal deal. 100% recommend this place for a meal before or after you catch a movie.

Best smashed patty burgers in all of Melbourne! Quite a statement I know but its true! Their crispy yet juicy burger patties are just impossible to beat!Now pair that with their frozen custard and youll get a combo youll never forget! Im told this is the only place in all of Victoria (if not Australiathat makes real custard in-house!Definitely a must visit!

My favourite burger in Melbourne. Theyve won burger of the year 2 years in a row and I can see why. The burgers are simple and done just right. Theyve got an American dinner vibe going here and it works well. The shakes add the perfect finishing touch to an already amazing meal. Almost 5 out 5 stars but lost a star for charging a massive 15% surcharge for public holidays.

Burgers were good. Hotdogs were good as well. Not a bad place in the outer suburbs for some American style cuisine. Prices are quite reasonable too.

Been here a few times now. Burgers are nice. Chips are miles oversalted every time, thick shakes are good, but overpriced. Biggest bug bear would be how long you have to wait for your food. They make it in batches, so if you are first in the batch you could be waiting 15 minutes, unacceptable in this day and age.

Honestly I use to love Laurie Dees. But feel its gone downhill a little in recent years.I would still go there when we go to the movies at Epping. But I think from now on Ill ask for the burgers on the toast bread instead of the buns they use.Staff are still amazingly lovely and welcoming even under the pump. Dessert there is still top notch.
