Cozy, stylish kitchen & bar offering inventive, seasonal cuisine made with local ingredients.
Very long wait times and very small portions but excellent. Be sure to try the brownies!
Excellent service, superb good. Had flank stank and was best meal of my trip. Lovely setting and friendly staff.
Fantastic food with great local beer plus amazing customer service 💯 Especially Charles was amazing making our dining experience unforgettable 👍
Had high expectation, but end up with a terrible one. The waitress is friendly and helpful but we waited more than an hour to get our dishes, it’s way too slow. Only one chef is cooking and the portion is small for some dishes. Had to eat in another place after dining here since we don’t want to wait another hour to get some additional dishes. The food itself is mediocre, interesting but not amazing.
Friendly and helpful staff (different people on different nights), nice selection of craft beers and nice wines. Good music. Great food! Recommended, also for guests of the Best Western across the road: my hotel WiFi works in this establishment!
A découvrir! A+
Unfortunately did not have the best experience. First night in Quebec, was excited to find a seemingly awesome unique restaurant right by the Best Western we were staying at! Was greeted by a male server, and then gave us attitude when we didnt understand what he was saying, mind you the place was fairly loud as well, but we still decided to give this place a try as reviews here said they were English friendly, although when first entrance we did not get that. Then we were left alone to figure out the menu a bit with Google translate, before Valerie (super friendly server and happy we ended up with her as our server or else this experience wouldve been terribleshe explained the menu in more detail to us - in English and smiles which I really appreciated. However, I guess there was still some lost in translations to this piece, as I ordered the duck - and although she was hesitant and said its made rare/medium rare, which Im okay with - it turned out the dish was completely RAW except for the skin part which seemed to have touched the pan a hot sec :/ I still tried a bit of it as I felt bad if I said anything considering I didnt want to be rude especially with the language barrier and get more attitude, but I was worried the whole night thinking I might get food poisoning or something, I guess in retrospect I shouldnt mentioned if this raw was what she meant by rare or I would not have ordered duck sashimi .. The French onion soup was okay, but served just a tad warmer than room temperature ... the shrimp pasta though was very good. I had better experiences and food elsewhere.
Did not enjoy dinner here at all. Ambience and atmosphere was nice. Valerie our waitress was great and the only reason this place gets 2 stars. No menu posted because they do change the menu frequently. Ordered the dahl which was ok but only had two small pieces of bread. Pork rillette that was bland and lacked flavour. Also the charcuterie board was very lackluster. Overall, 2hrs and 15 mins, 3 smaller dishes and almost $100, I will NOT return.
Wow. A great food experience indeed. A fresh market menu that can and does change daily. All items are freshly made and delicious. The vibe is warm, casual, comfortable and could be romantic if thats what you need. Nice selection of draft beers and glasses of wine. Liquor options available too. Good music playing all night. Id come here for a few drinks at the bar to chill. Id definitely come back for the wonderful food experience. For the two of us, we shared a cold app, two hot apps and an entree. Supremely delicious and perfect amount.
As soon as you enter the front door you can feel the ambiance of this place, warm, friendly and inviting. A fantastic soundtrack playing and perfect mood lighting and interior decor make this a cozy establishment. This is just how a gastro pub should be. I cant rave enough about the ambience, its fantastic! They have a rotating menu, so nothing will be the same day to day, all farm to table here from small local farms- so its fresh!Valarie, our server, guided us through the menu and the dining adventure. She was absolutely fantastic, courteous, professional and extremely helpful to these non French speaking visitors. The dishes are served tapas style, enough for two people. The food is mouth watering delectable delicious, created and crafted with pride and thats reflected in the seasoning , flavor and presentation of the dishes. Our best dining experience in Quebec.
The ambiance, music, service, and food - all excellent! New menu every day. Farm to table fabulous!
An always changing small menu, with food that is prepared to the highest quality. I have yet to have a poorly cooked meal, and I have had nothing but the best service.Although I am anything but a regular (in just a bus driver from the US), having only stopped in once or twice, I was shocked that the bartenders and kitchen staff recognized me. These guys are some of the best. I highly recommend you dine here.
We had an amazing meal here. The server took time to explain the menu as our French is non existent and the chef brought our food to the table himself. Delicious and flavourful from the wine and beer recommendations to the smoked scallops, charcuterie and cheese board, pork and halibut main courses, this was a dinner to remember. Welcoming and friendly hosts made this a fun and happy occasion. We would definitely return.
We found this restaurant while walking around the area. It was absolutely delicious, the food was extremely fresh and the menu changes every day for variety and uniqueness. All the beers on tap were also very interesting. The service was very friendly, they translated the whole menu for us. A must for not only tourists but locals too.
The food was superb especially the trout in broth, the pork entree and a lovely Tempranillo wine. The staff is friendly and knows their menu well
Enjoyed a lovely dinner here. From the superb, personalized service to the unique & delicious dishes, we loved everything about our dining experience.Since the menu was written in French (and in chalk, on the wall), our server stood at our table and translated/described to us every single item on the menu. He was both friendly & attentive, and provided great suggestions based on our taste preferences. A+ service. The food itself was excellent too. Visibility into the kitchen displayed their on-the-spot preparation and plating which resulted in tasty flavor combinations that were just as visually appealing as they were appetizing. We even ventured out and tried the sea lion as well as the pork tongue—both great dishes. We had some basics too—a fish dish with roasted veggies, a canned oyster/bread starter, and beer & wine—that were also yummy. If ever in Quebec City again, will definitely try to make it back!
Amazing dining — staff explained the full menu for us in English and treated us to a wonderful experience. Extensive wine and beer offerings, and accommodated a food allergy. On the pricier side for our trip, but well worth it.
Unimaginable bliss through an exceptional gastronomic experience! You will be awarded pleasure in every bite!We thoroughly enjoyed the ham and cheese appetizer with fresh sprouts and celery root relish. Our main courses were trout, halibut, and pork. Each offered a unique presentation including locally sourced fiddleheads, morels, and Jerusalem artichokes. Then!!! A sublime presentation of carrot cake topped with a white chocolate and Brie frosting.Oh my, oh my. Please add this to your bucket list/travel planner. And, make a new friend of the knowledgeable and friendly crew.
High quality service and food.
Very down to earth, cozy, chill environment with great food. Was a little hesitant at first as the service was a bit slow, but very unique menu, they fully explained it to us in english, had great drink reccomendations, and the FOOD!!! Mmmmmm it was so well prepared, beautifully presented, fresh and in season.
Fabulous meal and drink selection. The waiter was very personable, explained everything perfectly and paired the drinks beautifully. Highly recommend eating here if you are in the area.
Ive wanted to eat here for a long time!Dear diary... I have a feeling well never finish our renovations. So, on this Saturday evening of daylight saving time, we decide we earn to have dinner at this buvette. We choose a succulent Beaujolais, a judicious recommendation from our waiter, to accompany a Cornish chicken (and not Cournouaille). Simply delicious and juicy. Although we were quite full, we still opted for a brownie as dessert. Another incredible suggestion from our friendly waiter.-----Depuis le temps que je voulais manger ici!Cher journal...
Overpriced, portions are super small, slow service (30 minutes to make raw duck? Seriously?). Will not come back. They should change price range from $$ to $$$$$ here in GMB.
What an amazing hidden gem! The staff was delightful and enthusiastic about their menu. We loved everything we ordered for brunch and wish we had this sweet little restaurant in our city. Dont miss it if you want a quality, quaint and yummy dining experience.
Very interesting brunch choices for St-Jean. Loved our dining experience there!
Overall the food is lackluster for the price. The starters we had were really disappointing, $18 for a few scallops and fiddleheads, everything was floating in vinegar, with no taste. The salmon piece was small and tasteless, the rice lacked herbs or spices. This course had no soul. The wine selection is not diverse and doesnt go well with the plates served.Apparently the menu evolves twice a month, but I doubt I will go back.
Merci beaucoup jy retournerai.
A little known but excellent table!
Unique, friendly staff, however we were told it was kid friendly and it is not. 1 salmon entrée, 10 chicken drums (divided between mom and kids), 2 beer, $100...yikes.
Great service, very accommodating. Food was nicely plated and good, but from what I tried (cannelloni, pana cotta, arugula salad and beef roastnothing was great.I would certainly go back and try it again. 1 extra star since they’re open late (1am)
This place was recommended to my husband and I by two different people and we were not let down! Very kind, welcoming and fun staff! Felt like I was at a friends house drinking wine and eating great food. Would come back again and recommend to any friends travelling this way. Also, a very kind gentleman (who we believe to be the ownertook his time to let us sample 3 different wines while he had a quick break which really made our night!!
Great food and beer
Awesome choice of beer & delicious food to share. Great friendly staff.
Clean and kind
very good service good food and staff very friendly
