Lauhata Beach Escape in Aileu

Magnífico!!

We just had an excellent valentines day/night experience here. My husband and I paid $100 for a package of an overnight stay at their hotel with excellent dinner choice (delicious tomato cream soup, grilled pork and fish, cheese cakes, 1 bottle of wineand also a decent free breakfast. All was worth it 🥰 Thank you Lauhata.

Lovely spot with good food and service. Had breakfast today with coffee and juice and all were enjoyable. Trainee servers were very polite and attentive. Toilets have had an upgrade since I was last here. A wonderful spot for a lazy brunch on the beach or in the portico areas.Edit 2 - Valentine’s Weekend 2021We took advantage of the Valentines packaged that included decorated room, wine, dinner and breakfast. Rooms are basic but comfortable, clean and have AC and en-suite.Edit 3 - Midweek getaway 2022One of my favourite and easiest places to get away from the hustle and bustle of Dili. It is nice and quiet during the week and on the weekends they setup extra tables in the shade on the large grass area.Overall, Lauhata is a gem of a place to escape to. It’s is about 25km west from Dili. Yes, sometimes food and drink items are not available due to seasonal availability but this is the same country wide. I have now stayed several times and when I have travelled here as a lone, malae female, I have always felt safe. There are only a few grassed areas in Dili and this is the best. Families and large groups often come to spend the day. I book accommodation via WhatsApp or by calling.

One of the better spots in Timor.Dont expect 5 star resort, but a nice, clean area and a good spot to relax

Great scenery. Lovely green grass with ample space. Food and drinks could use some improvement (better to eat at home before heading to Lauhata Beach Escape). Small parking lot.

Nice place to relax and enjoy the sea breeze. It is about half an hour drive from Dili. They have barbecue and beers. Can have quality time with your children at the beach.

Love this beach. Must visit here If you travel to Timor-Leste.

Went there for lunch on a Sunday. Somewhat long ride from Dili by car and the few hundred meters from the main road were very rutty.However resort itself was extremely pleasant. Built up area for those who preferred it and the beach available to sit and have a meal (no, we did not sunbathe - do not need it like the pale skins!). Fine sandy beach but sand is dark (volcanic dust?).Fantastic place for windsurfing in every form (we watchedand there was a fellow gliding across the waves.Nice service and food - the pork chops in particular were good. A bit expensive but that is what would be expected when so far from any other places.Would recommend for a day visit from Dili.

Garden restaurant by the beach. Upscale place with a overhang deck by the black sand beach. Price of foods range from $8 - $20. Foods are average, table service available.

Had a family Sunday outing on our holidays in Dili great place apart from food ordering took over 2 hours waiting without anyone coming to let us know why! We ended up calling one of the waitress asking why took so long and why food keep on coming to a big long table( full on malaesand us putted on hold? No apologies from anyone we made complain including that Indian manager we ended up leaving the place and heading to Black Rock for a very late lunch kids all hungry and everyone was served the same menu in less then 40 minutes.Hoping to see improvement on customer service on our next visit to TL .Thank you

Great place for rest and relaxation. Lauhata has own transport offered to the visitor, at a cost of 20 usd per person. Beach is not good for children, but is compensated by the large space available for leisure.

Quiet place, very good for a days or just an hours escape, away from all the business in the city.The place is more crowded during the weekends.Need to pay extra attention to find the sign to enter from the main road.The place has 7 rooms, small but tidy and cosy. Place has wifi as well. Food is a bit pricey but wont disappoint.

Very beautiful place. Unfortunately after the menu was changed, there is almost no choice of food and no fresh juices anymore. Now it has only 4 overpriced dishes.

If youll be coming from the city of Dili, you will see a red small signage at the right side of the road. The place is refreshing and has pretty garden. Good for family that wants to have a quiet time. Food is ok and staffs are accommodating.

Improving with time. Service was initially terrible and they brusquely demanded payment in advance of everything. Still there is no service on the beach. However it is a lovely wide beach and large grassy area, with frequent pods of dolphins swimming by, but no reef for snorkeling to speak of.

Great, relaxing open beach bar/restaurant with big beach, grass area and good food. Also has villas to stay in.
