All come with free Wi-Fi, minibars, and terraces or balconies. Funky, extended-stay apartments with kitchens are also available.Breakfast is included. There’s a heated outdoor pool, along with a relaxed poolside bar. Other amenities include a funky restaurant, a fitness centre and a spa, plus meeting space.
This used to be my favorite hotel in Lilongwe, but it has gone from great to the worst. The place has a nice ambiance, but the service has severely deteriorated. The problems started at booking, when I received no responses to email inquiries and I kept being told I will be called back when I tried the phone, but they never bothered. So, I booked online through the hotel website for two nights and this was confirmed by email. When I arrived, I was told that they are overbooked and I may only be able to stay for one night, but later I was reassured by two people at reception that I can definitely stay for the two nights. The following morning, I had breakfast and left my keys with reception (still nobody said anythingand went to my work meetings. Suddenly mid-morning I start getting Whatsapp messages from the reception that they made a mistake, and I dont have a room for the second night (that same night!after all. So, I spent the day distracted from work, stressed and trying to find other last-minute accommodation. I even had to leave my meetings early to go pack up my things and leave, which was quite embarrassing. The receptionist tried to apologize and find me alternate accommodation, but it was just too little too late. No manager to be found the entire time, just one poor staff member who tried to handle the situation but failed. To top it off the food has also gone downhill since my last visit. So now I need a new favorite hotel in Lilongwe as I come here often but likely never be back to this hotel again.
Yooh this place is nice
Yesterday I visited to had dinner with my friends, i waited for 1 hour no one came to get my order , finally I left with disappointment
The food was good, The service was horrible, it felt like the staff had better things to do
I love this place, the ambiance, the service and the food from Chef Macdonald is awesome…home away from home..kudos guys👏👏👏👏🎂
Awesome restaurant, great venue!
Very delicious Chombo!!
While the place looks good, dont let the looks fool you. The loft rooms are unsafe as they dont have protective railing. The floor in upper bedroom creaks and bends as if it is about to break. The biggest issue is that the management team is a bunch of cheats! The hotel overcharged me for two nights and then after rounds of back and forth agreed to refund the two nights. I have documented this on email with signed letter by the manager promising refund back to my card. Now it has been two weeks since I checked out with two rounds of email reminders and I still dont have the refund. My advice: Stay away from this place and spend your funds on another hotel.
A taste of heaven... A place you will fall in love with.
Four chicken drumsticks for 16000 and the new manager who said took over three weeks ago was far more interested in getting back to his date then acknowledging any issue, I will not be back
Stylish modern decor with West-African touches. Excellent food and vibe. Great for a classy eve
Absolute clean and spacious room. Always craving to stay here for more, have stay at this beautiful hotel for twice, would absolutely go back. The food at the restaurant are delicious, it is worthy of try.
Best good ever, gorgeous decor, beautiful gardens and friendly staff.
Relaxing, customer care is 👎 the worstYoure not given any attentionThey dont come to ask what you want to haveYou have to actually go to them to ask for what you need and that is bad to meId rate it zero but the whole place setup and stuff is nice.
I went to the restaurant and the food was not the greatest. They did nothing to help me and I did not enjoy my meal or the service. They told me one thing and brought another thing. Please do better
I’ve had two very nice stays here. The staff are accommodating and friendly, the food is good, and the atmosphere is a welcome break from Malawi’s usual
Parking space too limited, almost as though it was an afterthought. The service is rather slow. Takes a while before youre attended to. Planning another visit, hoping for a better time.
Everything is just perfect. The rooms, pool, food. Especially the spaces
My husband and I stayed for 3 nights over a weekend. The place is beautiful and the attention to detail is really to be admired. Overall we would give a 5 stars for the calming ambience, decorations, cleanliness of the hotel, and taste/quality of the food. Unfortunately, we are giving 3 stars overall for multiple reasons: the bed unfortunately was very uncomfortable (as if sleeping on a box spring onlyas well as the L shaped couch/seating area in the room. We preferred the floor over the couch actually, it was so uncomfortable. The service was mixed. Perhaps there was not enough restaurant staff for the amount of guests so at times it was difficult to place orders as the waiters were busy. Also, there were many food items that we ordered that were unavailable (and this would change from one day to the next), the rugs in the hotel room actually were incredibly dirty, and our AC was inconsistent, sometimes working and sometimes not. When we asked, someone was sent to look at it but he didn’t return to fix it. Additionally, the 2 pools were cloudy with lots of debris in them Friday-Sunday. They did clean them the day we checked out, though, Monday. I really wish the best for this hotel so that is why I shared these areas that need to be improved.
I loved the hotel, it made for a great stay. There was music on Thursday and Friday. The food was good however the menu had limited options. The design and furnishings made for a good ambiance throughout the hotel. I would definitely recommend staying there. It was a bit pricey though.
The place is beautiful and relaxing. Their steak was mouthwatering but I felt they could improve on their cocktails
Wonderful resort, amazing staff! Great food. Cant wait to stay again.
A Malawian friend recommended this hotel, and yoh, was I impressed!!!Honestly if there was a rating above 5, thats what they should get. What this hotel does ia take hospitality a notch higher. Right from when I booked to when I arrived, I had a great experience with communication in advance of my arrival, arranaging for my airport pick up and smoothening things whem my check in had hiccups.Details- Amazing decor in the rooms, lounge areas, spa the bar and the entire place. Amazing maximalist design!!- Great service, the chef is exceptional, the operations Manager (Alesandraand service manager Rama are just really good at their jobs and provide top notch service. Receptionists, check in staff, waitresses and everyone provides top notch personalized service- The food is great, had steaks(sirloin and rib eyeand loved both. Breakfast is great and ala carte due to COVID, and its super tasty- Complementary laundry service and water is an awesome treat- Hosted an event here, their support was exceptional and the chef provided meals and bites beyond our expectation, this along with their generous offer on wine and support throughoutThis will become my new and go to.place everytime I am in Lilongwe!! Unless something changes!!
The best of the best in Lilongwe. Excellent food and superior service. Feels like youre in a 5 star in Europe and the newly opened space is amazing!
Ordered tge burger at what the surroundings and price suggest is a higher to upper scale restaurant, so expected a basic item such a hamburger (non-busy timeto be at lesst adequate Quite bad at 10k kwatcha( $13), for a small burger. Could not even finish thesmall serving.
Loved it, I think I would have loved it even more if it was hot and sunny, the loft style apartment has all these quirky design elements, I loved sleeping under the tent style mosquito net, I was the princess in castle and after a long and exhausting day, that princess bed was magical! The food was probably the main reason I booked, had heard great reviews and wanted to experience it for myself. The staff were friendly, warm, service on point, my favourite part sitting outside on the patio admiring the beautiful table and all the design elements, it was like a lucky packet of design surprises and from the looks of it all upcyclyed, recycled, reused which make it extra special.
Very expensive and shocking service. My wife order a mushroom risotto and received maybe 2 mushrooms with half the risotto overcooked and the other half raw. I ordered a pork fillet with chips and it came with mash, when I complained about it my plate was removed and when returned I had hot chips dished on top of my now cold mash, next to my cold fillet. Never went back.
I am reviewing the restaurant only., it is amazing. By far the top restaurant in Lilongwe. The ambience and service is incredible. They work great with large groups, but most of all the food. The food is just splendid, you wont find better international cuisine in the country than here. My wife and I had our anniversary dinner here, they went above and beyond for us, with rose petals on the table, without me even asking for it. That is great service right there.
A great place to go for a get away with that special someone. The food is amazing. Did not get the chance to see the rooms but the restaurant was wonderful. The prices are a bit on the upper side if you are a Malawian but it is worth it. Especially for special occasions
This place is beautiful and classy, the menus are delightful, the ambiance is great and doesn’t feel cluttered at all, located within a residential area so it is close and convenient if you live nearby.
The rooms are nice, the grounds, spa and pool beautiful. Very clean. The menu is good but limited on healthy and vegetarian options. The made a mistake in my reservation and wanted me to vacate my room at 7 pm my last night telling me they have made a reservation in another hotel for me. I found that super unprofessional but I refused to check out earlier than my reservation they eventually left it like that.
The best of the best ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Pure ExcellenceGreat, great place right in the middle of one of the most beautifull areas in Lilongwe ... such peace and wonder there... from the daily perspective this is always perfect choice ...great staff, coffee, smoothies and pool!Every single area is created like unique artistic arangement. If you want to enjoy old area you will get different mood then enjoing new area with modern design... Where ever you look it is always some new expiriance. You have to go there! Even though I am just a daily guest ... the review can just be wonderful ... Latitude is truly unique and beautiful hotel! You will be served by highly trained professionals! It deserves to be one of the most expensive hotels in the city and totally worth of it!Love that place!
I had a really good time at a cocktail held at Latitude 13. I was amazed by the design of the place: very vibrant, african and excentric. Fell in love with the place! Wish I had the time to have a spa day there, because just the environment had me relax.
This place has horrible service and the staff are extremely rude and it feels like they treat other people in the society differently. We ordered coffee and got it after 40 mins and when we had to ask twice to get it. I wish this place improves their service and I would not give such a high rating. This has happened twice and I’m upset. I hope management can look into this matter. I do not recommend this place to anyone.
Dinner was great! A small menu, but a very tasty one. We decided to come back the next day to enjoy the pool and drinks, along with Lunch. The manager here was very friendly and we will defiantly be staying here next time we return.
Just passed through but its an aesthetically pleasing location with amazing decor pieces offering a spa, restaurant and accommodation. Great place if youre looking for somewhere to work with available wifi in Lilongwe.
Great facilities, bar, pool and restaurant. Very clean facilities that are well maintained and new. Staff welcoming and very helpful. Excellent unlimited internet connectivity from all corners of the property.
Its a beautiful place,The food is incredible. The ambiance is very homely. A general sense of Tranquility. They Need to be a bit more organised service-wise
The most luxurious accommodation in the Capital city of Malawi. Legendary rooms consist of a fully furnished living room and a well crafted bedroom. The separation of the living room and the bedroom ensures total privacy.
Excellent in every way! Great food and most friendly/helpful Staff. Very pleased with my 3 weeks stay
Food is alright, nothing impressive but a decent option if you cant get anywhere else. The ambiance is really great though! Very nice styling. Friendly staff too.
Great food, amazing aesthetic. Only one problem: the restaurant took too long to bring out the food and we were the only customer.
Really nice and relaxing place environment. They have a wonderful gym which one can access through payment for a membership which lasts three months. The membership includes use of the pool as well as a trainer yo help you get in shape in the gym. Wonderful customer service with beautiful people.
Beautiful place with friendly staff though everything i seem to order was not in stock even after i order 3 different meals which forced me to have a meal i didnt not really want and it wasnt that great. But there dessert redeemed them.
Wow! What a gem! Absolutely beautiful boutique hotel with a fabulous pool, gym, restaurant, and bar. I had fish tacos, which were splendid. A bit pricey, but one of the nicest spots in Lilongwe without a doubt
Its a very nice design hotel, with industrial furnitures mixed to traditional ones. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The restaurant is amazing, I loved the beef. There are also a swimming pool, a gym and a spa, in which you can have great massages. It is important to me also the fact that furnitures, food and services are all made by local people, trained very well. They are so kind that you will feel at home.
Probably the best design hotel I’ve stayed in – the attention to detail through the whole property and the rooms is impeccable. I was even more pleased to hear that most of the designs and art work were locally done in Malawi. I took so many pictures to show my family but was so impressed that I just took a video and sent it right away – they were jealous. So, were do I start? The most important of all, the staff, all great and warm; so thanks to Victoria for countless e-mails prior to my arrival on my booking; thanks to Janeth at reception for her friendly demeanour; thanks to resident manager, Sherrie, for always enquiring if I was pleased and for some of my minor recommendations on things to improve; thanks to Melody for always checking up on me; At the restaurant; thanks to Christine – although she only served me on my first day, she would always stop by to check that I had everything timely; thanks to Lawrence, whom I had previously met at another hotel, but remembered me – a very warm and natural person; thanks to Amina for always being pleasant and letting me show her the basics of making an espresso and of course to the chefs behind the scene, churning out what must be one of the most avant garde menu in Malawi using high quality ingredients. Still with the food, I don’t know anywhere in the World that gives you complimentary sparkling or still water with your meal, and I mean unlimited 750ml bottles. The décor was really up to date with a relaxed but quality appeal – you could easily be in NYC or London and the furniture was exquisite. The food was good but I would recommend sticking to basics to reach a wider audience, like a plain beef burger with no frills and please stock up on desserts that sell out quickly. As for the rooms, urban chic with exposed walls – a real home away from home feel - you get two levels; a lounge area with lots of space downstairs, daily complimentary water and an upstairs to sleep and relax complimented with a decent size bathroom with great design detail (old sewing machine sinks), with the only downside, the lack of a basic shower curtain. The property has a mid-sized gym with machines and free weights, visited by the expatriate community and well-off locals and there’s a really nice pool. All the modcons are there (SAT TV, wifi, albeit weak). A SPA is planned for later in 2017. Latitude 13 are transforming from being a small boutique hotel of 9 to a large boutique hotel of 29, so bear with them during this metamorphosis, but the future really looks bright and God willing I will stay again if I visit Lilongwe next year.
The food is fantastic and the service very good. I have only tried the resturant but hope I can stay here on my next visit
I went to latitude for a meal and had a lovely time.I had a lovely salad and an appetizing apple tart. The staff are nice and cordial as is the overall ambiance of the place.Price wise it is more on the higher end comparing the other nearby restaurants, but overall you get what you pay for. They make their own sparkling water which as they say "reduces the carbon footprint "
Best fillet steak Ive ever had was from here. Top fine dining place in Malawi. Reasonable prices considering the quality. Service could be slightly better but overall an excellent place to enjoy a fine dinner with family and friends.
