Last Chance Splash Waterpark & Pool - Water park in Helena, United States
We visited last chance splash water park the first time two days before it closed this season, and we were quite impressed! It was fun!Me, my wife, and our girls, 9, 7, and 5 years old, had a great time on the slides, and also on the diving board. We wish the second board would have been open, but at least one was, and it was very fun to bounce off and dive deep. The green water slide, everyone said it hurt your back, but I barely felt any discomfort, and I went on it between 20-25 times. It was great because you have to be quite tall so there was no line, and you go FAST!The blue waterside was the one all the kids could go on but it was much slower and wound around. It’s still fun but much less interesting than the faster one. It took 5-10 minutes to get through the line too.As for the locker rooms, they were spacious and clean enough. The refreshments stand was out of most everything, as this was the next to last day of the year, and of course they don’t want to get stuck with a bunch of food, but the food that was there and the listings looked like it was a pretty good selection and reasonable prices as well. Our family of 5 could go there for $18.50, and we spent nearly 4 hours swimming. It’s a good value at that rate. They need to add more chairs in some of the emptier areas though, as there wasn’t much room left to sit.We will come again next year!
Such a fun pool! Something for everyone and a super affordable activity! We will definitely be back!❤
Kids had a great time. Seems like the fSeating area in shade could be larger. But definitely a fun activity for kids on a hot day.
The pool itself is nice, but when I asked to use the unused deep end necessary for my own deep water aerobics, the young person in charge wouldn’t allow me to do so and could give me no reason why I couldn’t; and when another customer asked permission for me later, she still wouldn’t give a logical reason for her refusal even though a lifeguard was on duty the whole time and sitting right next to the deep end where no one was swimming. In previous years I have always been allowed to do my workout alone in the deep end.
Not for very small children. Hard to keep track of everyone and setup seems disconnected.
Granted the prices are cheap but when you get in and swim for maybe 20 mins then everyone is evacuated due to overcast skys and "thunder" only getting a dollar off next time is not right. The staff seems lazy and not wanting to work. They get paid well to call thunder when its cloudy and thats it.
What a fun, hot summer place to be. Your sure to get wet.
Great place to cool down and excellent value for a membership to lap swim.
The only reason I didnt give 5 stars was the slides/lazy river were temporarily closed. We love this pool! No heavy chlorine smell or itchiness! Water is always clean and clear! Plenty of lifeguards to keep things safe. Reasonably priced snacks and drinks on site! Cant bring in your own pool toys, thats pretty much an industry standard at public pools. I was actually surprised how the lifeguards let people just do their thing! Found the lifeguards and front desk staff friendly and informative. Love this place!
Great local attraction, attentive staff, fun for the whole family.
They have a heated pool which is great should be open year-round. At least when its not snowing here. The music is too loud. But, it is a great place to take your kids. And for adults as well theres a swim class from 11:00 to 12:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays with a great teacher named Jacque. She has been teaching for 56. Young or old can come she does weight stretching in the water of course. Also she teaches a swim team there from 12:00 to 1:00. They have snacks a snack bar that is reasonably priced. And lifeguards are always on duty. Its an expensive to go there. Waters clean so are bathrooms. Also, for younger kids they have 2 slides and lifeguards in that area as well. Great place for adults and kids to swim! 😊
Theres a lot of young people that work there and I didnt like their conversations some inappropriate. For instance I was trying to have a meeting over zoom and because they were yelling so loud at one another talking I could not do my meeting. The music is turned up way too loud and then you get an attitude when asked to turn it down. The pool is on the cold side it shouldnt be that cold. On the flip side there are some very nice teenagers that do work there. And it is a clean nice pool to go to and take your children too. I have an excellent teacher there named Jacque who teaches water aerobics classes on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. I have joined her class in thoroughly enjoy it.
I took my grandchildren here and it was ok. I was disappointed that they closed the waterside down at 4 and the water park was open until 7. They dont let the public in until 12 so that only gives you 4 hrs to use the slides. The lazy river was disappointing also because you have to push your way through instead of the water pushing you through ( so you could be lazy ... hence the name 😉 the snack bar prices I thought were reasonable and its nice they have so many lifeguards . I felt comfortable with my youngest grandchild being in the kiddie pool with the lifeguards there. The employees were very nice. They have plenty of seating and loungers which was nice and a covered picnic Pavillion if you need shade . I just feel they need to keep the slides open as long as the pool is open and get more power on the lazy river.
they are usually open on mondays, wish it said something on the website that its closed this monday.
It is a great place I just wish it had more for older kids also. But I am grateful that we have it available
Great water park for the whole family. Prices are reasonable and the kids had a great time!!
Water is a bit cold but the kids love it!
I came in to enjoy and evening with my nephews and about a half hour before they closed me and my nephew were on the diving board and a girl decided to tell my nephew when HE WAS UNDERWATER so I told him what she said and then she decided to continue to talk and stare at me as I tried to ignore it and continue on with my fun not even 10 minutes later everyone was grouped up and looking and me and my family. I FELT VERY UNCOMFORTABLE AND WILL NEVER COME BACK
Awesome park, friendly staff clean and good location
My kids love going here admission is cheap and we always have lots of fun.
Its the only place in town to swim, but it is really lacking in its fun due to some really strict rules. The lazy river can only be used if you are on a tube and you have to stay on your tube at all times. Only one of the two larger slides is available to kids (my kids are aged 13, 11, and 9and the other slide is only available for older teenagers and adults. I wish it had more to do like other waterparks in Montana.
Great looking pool. Havent actually been inside yet but looks clean and the lifeguards always seem to be paying attention.
My kiddos always have fun here. They love to swim and goof around at the splash park. Theyve taken swim lessons the last few summers as well, and the instructors are always helpful and patient.
Ive never been to a worse public pool. The lifeguards were constantly blowing their whistles and yelling at kids for the stupidest rules. After an hour my son asked if we could just leave. You cant use flippers, you cant used goggles if they have a nose piece.
The rules there are a little too much! First my son couldn’t wear his own goggles but could barrow a pair from a complete mess of them from a bucket. Then my son who is a 10year old with autism mind you wanted to do the lazy river. Unfortunately not only do you have to use a tube at all times but anyone over 48 inches cannot be walked around by their adult parent. (Any other lazy river we have been to allows me to walk with him as he floats on a tube as he is a little uneasy on a tubeThe main pool we were told we couldn’t splash too much or dunk one another which was not effecting anyone else in the pool. So what do most kids do at a pool like this? My kids are not rough. Just a little playful. I have never been to such a place and I will never return. If this wasn’t enough when getting out of the main pool there was a dirty bandaid on the steps getting out of the pool.
Last Chance Splash was nearly as wet and wild as I was during Mardi Gras in 89
Its just average. It works in a pinch and there is nothing else too do.
Had a great time. We were there for a swim meet. Theres lots of space available in the park for the spectators. They also have a nice playground for the kids to play on.
Outdoor fun for the whole family. Diving boards, lazy river, water slides, and kiddy areas.
I dont like it because kids cant have there floating toys to help them swim
A little unsanitaryHad ducks in the pool but wasnt to deducting from the visits fun
An amazing family swimming place very clean and sanitary and always a great staff and prices are great
Our family had a great time here all summer. Kids took every week of swimming lessons they could, and loved the instructors. And then they wanted to go back to play! Loved it and we’ll be back next season.
Great place to swim laps on a hot summer day. And a 50m pool to boot.
This is a nice Small water-park but they really have gone overboard with the rules! They make it very difficult for children to have fun. I understand safety and Im all for it but Ive been to water parks all over in many states and I have to say this is the most restrictive one especially considering how small the slides are!
Water was very cold for my child. They dont allow baby floaties at all but when we went in two people had some for their kids. They told ours would have to go back in our car but yet two people had some? Makes no sense at all. They let us a life vest for our child that was way to big and i told the lady that he had to have his floaties because life vests wont fit him but she told me i didnt know what i was talking about even tho i am his mother. When we went to leave i check the board on the building and it says NOTHING about floaties for babys not being aloud in the pool. I wont be going back tell this place changes.
Its a nice way to relax and spend an afternoon. The kiddie splash area is nice and the lazy river is great. One water slide is kind of rough on your back though. Very reasonably priced. Great large pool for swimming and a separate diving area.
an awesome place to swim and to bring kids for lessons to swim
Loved the lazy River. The price to get in was nice too! They do need pads to lay on while going down the slides, kids said it was painful.
Good variety of activities, lots of lifeguards, feels safe, inexpensive, friendly, not too much for deep swimming areas. Only one stiff diving board operational. Peaceful lazy river, fast water slide hurts the back a little, no lockers.. Not too crowded
So much fun for the kids and super cheap
The staff working the front counter were very slow and unhelpful. Took 45 minutes, with a very anxious baby to get through the line to pay and go inside the pool.
It’s a great place to go on a hot day.
Someone pooped in the pool so they closed it right as I got there plus theres to many lines takes to long rather go to the lake
Absolutely love this place. Very family oriented. Although we live 65+ miles away, I dont mind the drive because I know its worth it. Two water slides, a lazy river, diving boards, and a large pool for swimming! Cant beat the fun, cant beat the prices! 💜
Fun in the sun nice staff and great water slide priced fair!
My daughter had a blast here and its awesome that they have a concession stand for snacks.
Great place to go on a hot day in Helena. Got a pair of slides, lazy river, diving boards and a 50m lap pool. Isnt usually too busy during the day unless there are big school groups coming through. Lots of fun
Well run with a great snack bar. Absolutely family friendly. Check out the variety of frequent swimmer passes available, you can save quite a bit.
Two water slides, a lazy river, a walk-in area with a gradual depth like a lake - the kids never get tired of this place. Add to that the large normal pool with swim lessons, diving boards and an awesome staff, you can hardly ask for more in a local swimming pool!
