Haven Marina, New Cut East, Ipswich IP3 0EA, Ipswich
British and global cuisine, plus catch-of-the-day dishes in waterfront bar/restaurant with terrace.
Wish there was a but more choice on draugh. Otherwise, very good!
A very good relaxing lunch. The restaurant is in a very nice spot. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is well worth the money, very big portions. The Fish is fresh and the batter is amazing thin and crispy. The Crab is also very fresh. The prawn are fresh and not frozen but loads of pasta. Overall a very good restaurant for Lunch or Dinner
Took thirty minutes to be seated at a time when the restaurant was less that 25% occupied. Everyone seemed confused and spent most of the time chatting amongst themselves. Took another 30mins to be served. Breakfast was great...no complaints.
Had lunch Friday was very disappointed sandwich £10 of which bread was mouldy!!! Re done was ok but not great, had a few meals here but never again
Great food but they struggle in service times. Think its staffing numbers as this place can get busy and full. Food uis great though and staff work hard to get things going. I go back a lot just expect a wait if its busy
Dinner for six on a Friday evening. Was my sons 30th, and the staff added some lovely touches to make the evening extra special. Our waitress was the loveliest young lady too !
Food is fantastic, service isn’t so good. Tried to book for 18.30, to be told they only had 17.30 or 20.00 available. So went for 17.30, yet restaurant had many tables free, which disappointed me. But after checking in, ordering my first drink, we were seated. But it was at least 30 minutes, before we then got served again with another drink & that seemed to be the pattern all evening. Waiting a long time to be served, plus no enthusiasm from the staff to give good service. Even when we had finished, no one asked if we wanted coffee or anything, so wouldn’t recommend to anyone!!!!
We shared the fish platter, absolutely delicious! Nice service, beautiful day, ty xx
We were a party of nine for a celebration meal. The food was excellent and the staff were amazing and coped very well under very stressful circumstances and a very hot night. Through no fault of Last Anchor (an earlier large party turned up very lateserving of our meal ran very late and two of our party had health issues whereby they needed food. Once the staff were aware they pulled out all the stops to rectify the issues and were very caring and concerned. I was impressed. We had a very happy evening.
The food was fabulous but, £6.95 for a single gin and tonic is a bit steep! Wine looked better value.
excellent lunch service was very good . beautiful views
Absolutely accommodating as always! Hardly anyone walking around Marina which was a surprise when the children are on hols. Do feel that IBC Planning and Marina Authority need to get their heads together to create better inclusive parking and drinking and eating opportunities on both sides of the Marina to create a greater footfall to encourage use and spending. Perhaps coffee and patisseries could be a step in the right direction!
Lovely place to sit, eat and watch the boats great sharing platter
Great fish dishes. Best meal out we e had in a while. Thanks
Visiting Ipswich. Found this gem. Wow! Probably the best brunch on the planet. And certainly the cheeriest welcome. Such a good vibe. And views of boats too, at the heart of maritime Ipswich. Don’t hesitate, park your boat, moor your car, hike it or bike it. You won’t be disappointed. They can make decent coffee too, by the way. Did I mention the warm and smiley welcome?
Great food, bottomless prosecco turns out its asti spumanti but otherwise lovely setting for lunch or drinks will go back
Fantastic place - food excellent and plenty of it Will definitely be returning
Excellent lunch for Fathers Day. Relaxed atmosphere, staff were chatty and welcoming, nice view of the marina looking over to the corn exchange, Isaacs etc. Also handy to have customer parking right outside. Also provided a high chair.
Best breakfest I have ever eaten. Amazing food, excellent service and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Well worth a visit.
King size portions of really great food , staff were friendly, helpful and apologetic over the time some of the large party i was with had to wait for their meals .Never had a bad experience of the Last anchor and will be back at the earliest opportunity .
EDIT: This was on Thursday Evening. The food was excellent. Fresh. Tasty. However, it was let down considerably by poor service. It was quiet at the time and I was waiting considerable lengths of time to be checked up on. Such a shame as it spoilt what was otherwise a good meal.
Great food in a good location. Had lovely salmon dish on last visit. Staff are friendly and food is reasonably priced for the quality.
This is a regular haunt of some associates of mine and is always the first stop of the day for a communal breakfast, prior to a full on day ahead.Great breakfast using quality ingredients served in really pleasant surroundings overlooking the Marina. Whats not to like ! 🙂
Had a lovely breakfast here. The atmosphere was really nice, and the staff were very friendly. I will definitely return again.
We were a walk in on a Saturday lunch, waiting staff were kind enough to find us a table. However, service was very slow and it felt like they were understaffed.Ordered the salt beef focaccia - generous serving, very tasty with a great salad. However, there was a lot of very salty meat and it overpowered the meal unfortunately.Could have done with being less salty, having more of a sauce, and a better focaccia:meat balance.
Very nice place. Good food and great service, all the staff seem to genuinely want you to have a great experience.Very friendly without feeling forced or fake.
lovely breakfast, delicious food and welcoming staff. Will come again
Stopped here for a egg and bacon sandwich & a latte.Sounds pretty standard but it was far from standard.Great produce and a good size.Thick cut fresh bread with great bacon and pouched eggs. All topped off with a great latte. This isnt my first visit and will certainly be back.Oh I should mention the views are great also, looking over the marina.Staff were great too, nothing seemed a problem.Highly recommend
Excellent Service, Quality and Price, we will be coming back.
Had a surprise birthday here. All you can drink prosecco. Food was great, service great. Im one happy birthday boy.
The food here was AMAZING and really good value for money. For two large breakfasts and two teas it was only 22 pounds. Only reason for not giving five stars is it was quite food smokey in there and service was quite slow however they were all friendly. Would definitely go back still.
I don’t know whether it has changed hands recently because the food and service were always so good but this time was a real disappointment. We should have realised when the girls on the table next to us left their food.My tagliatelle had plenty of prawns but the sauce was ruined by the overpowering taste of fish and it wasn’t creamy. My partner’s burger was tasteless and the bun was soggy. It’s a shame because the service was great
With a party of six. “Catch of the day” had run out but chef quickly provided an alternative which was lovely. All the food was first class, relaxed atmosphere and together with efficient and unobtrusive service made for a great evening. Will go again.
Lovely location, and fitting decor and style, with friendly staff. The meal was a mixed bag: the satay starter and roasted pepper starters were excellent, with great flavour and clearly made on site; however, the toasted turkey main had dry overcooked meat. Luckily, the rest was lovely, and plenty of veg to top up the plate.
Joined many friends for Christmas Lunch here and all I can say is “Just Perfect” meal was on hot plates, food was excellent and the service friendly. The mince pies given to us on departure were possibly the best I have ever tasted. Thank you so very much. Merry Christmas to you all.
Very good! Food was pretty nice. I had the camembert to share with my partner and i feel there wasnt enough bread. Id also say the bistro camembert across the road is better (takes notes! However, I really enjoyed my main; the chefs choice and the ambiance was lovely.
So in a twin where Im not overly find of. We were looking to find a parking spot near to the marina. Eventually finding an entrance which looks more like its for all the boat owners. I drove in going to find a parking spot. Totally unexpected at the end of the drive right at a barrier to the private marine entry is this gem. They have their own parking area (limited space we got one luckily). Wandered in and got there just in time with a food order. Friendly staff. Excellent service. Very good quality food and drink. Really nice atmosphere. We sat and relaxed for a few hours. As the lunchtime customers left we found ourselves with the place empty. Weve pre booked again with us going to Ipswich next month. Very happy to find a good establishment by accident.
I thought it would be a glorified chip shop, but I was pleasantly surprised. Good food and not overpriced. Not a bad atmosphere and friendly staff. The only slight criticism was that I found the curry sauce a little overpowering for the Dover sole.
Good atmosphere and decor looks good also.I was quite disappointed with the food however, just quite tasteless.I had the duck tacos and the fish and chips. If youre looking for a good meal with family and friends, this isnt anything special!
We visited yesterday for lunch as this is my Dads favourite restaurant. Unfortunately we were disappointed at the menu. Not sure if it has changed hands. The staff were polite and service was quick but menu not as it was.No specials board, and no Sunday roast. Was told they might do roasts in the winter??The Burgerand pasta was fine, not amazing but I wasnt expecting pub grub at the Anchor. My Dad was very disappointed to say the least.
Incredible work people, lovely food,Lovely staff even changed my phone for me as it was nearly dying and I was on myOwn, eating alone because i’m working away, Beautiful spot top notch.
We sat on the terrace and had a delicious meal with great views across the quay. Service was excellent: helpful, friendly and attentive. Food was top notch too. We were really impressed with the vegetarian dish, which they had put loads of effort, thought and care into. The specials were all excellent. Good value for money and we will be visiting again for sure.
I cant thank Polly and the rest of the team at the Last Anchor enough for hosting a fab leaving do for us on the outside decking. We had a BBQ for 30 outdoors and it was fantastic. The food was excellent, the service was excellent and we were a very happy bunch. If you have not been yet and are thinking about it, just do it. You wont regret it!
Fantastic breakfast, able to accommodate my gluten free requirements, service was excellent, couldnt fault it.
I have barely left a review in my life but felt compelled to! The food and menu were fantastic, really high quality, along with the friendly service and great view across the waterfront. The outside area was nicely set up and sufficiently warm. All in all a great evening!
Absolutely lovely food. First time visiting and would happily return. Great portions and quality- friendly staff too! Thank you
High quality food with a nice view.We were happy to find they they have a free carpark, good for somewhere in town. Food was great and service very friendly. We had the burger and an omelette. Both great although the omelette has a salad on it which is fine but also salad dressing, so if you dont like salad dressing make sure and let them know. It wasnt clear when ordering but the staff sorted it out for us with no stress. The burger was great! 🍔This was our first visit and I wish wed been before. Theyre using NHS track and trace app qr code which is good. Will return soon! 👍
My first visit for over 10 years and it didnt disappoint. There was a large group who were just about to be served their starters, so the waitress kindly warned that my fishes could be delayed 20 mins. I had the Mackerel Bruschetta, followed by the F&C. Both were excellent, but very sizeable portions so be careful when ordering. Both were ordered off of the well priced set menu. I didnt have room for a dessert! The staff were civil and friendly, as were all of the patrons in the restaurant 😁 An excellent experience all round. Fully recommend.
Nice atmosphere and good service.Starters were well presented and very enjoyable. Seafood fans will have plenty to choose from.Overall a nice place for an evening meal or lunch.
Went here and ordered for christmas set menu in advance. Food was ok, seemed to be batched cooked rather then cooked to order. Little things like roast potatoes being tough rather then crispy and meat being dry.
