Las Palmas Mexican Restaurant - Mexican restaurant in Duarte, United States
Fresh and great quality food also very authentic and delicious! Definitely coming back
Very friendly and welcoming owner and server! I was craving Mexican food and this place really hit the spot. Its so hard to find Halal Mexican and this place doesnt disappoint. Came here with my family, highly recommend!
Worst place ever. We drove 1 hr to this places after reading the reviews. But unfortunately it’ wasn’t what we were expecting. Cold meat on tacos bad service cold food overall tasted horrible we barely ate any food.
I just ate the most delicious fish burrito I have ever had. Each bite was better than the last. This delightful chipotle cream sauce danced on every tastebud in my mouth. The textures complemented to each other perfectly. This is my new favorite restaurant.
Loved the food. I normally do not go out to eat Mexican Food because I cook it at home and I am usually disappointed. However this food was fresh and delicious.
Great first experience trying a variety of items at Las Palmas! My wife and I found ourselves in need of some Mexican takeout enroute to visit our friends and see their new baby. If the new first time mom is craving Mexican food, you get her Mexican food.Being completely unfamiliar with Duarte we did a quick Google search and decided to give Las Palmas a try. It was the middle of the afternoon on a weekday so we had the place all to ourselves. As we sat at a table looking over the menu we were surprised to receive so much attention and so many free samples from the owner. The house made tortilla chips and salsa we terrific. They were light and super crunchy without a hint of greasyness. We were also treated to free samples of horchata and rice pudding. The horchata was so good that we decided to buy two. It was the best horchata that I have had in a long time.We decided to get one of each kind of taco, carne asada fries, and ribeye empanadas to share. Everything was very good. The quality of the beef stood out to me. It was flavorful, tender and moist, way better than the quality at the place around the corner in our neighborhood. My wife said that she really enjoyed the seafood tacos. My wow factor was the empanada. So amazing! I can only call the flavor mysterious. So savory but with a hint of sweetness that just felt right some how.The owner was very chatty. He told us all about how he had bought the restaurant eighteen months ago and was working on upgrading the quality of the entire menu.We hope that our friends are still craving Mexican food the next time we are in town for a visit. So, do yourself a favor and give this place a try soon.
We were in LA visiting family for one week, and we loved Las Palmas so much we went there three times! Halal Mexican food is sadly rare, so this was a real treat for us. They have an extensive lunch/dinner menu, and for breakfast you can get either American dishes (pancakes, waffles, bacon, etc.or Mexican dishes (menudo, machaca, etc.). Their carne asada was tender and very well-seasoned, and their horchata was the best Ive ever had. It was lovely to be able to get all our favorite meals 100% halal. The brother who owns the restaurant was so friendly and obviously proud of his business, and rightly so. InshaAllah we hope Las Palmas sticks around for a long time!
We are always treated very well here. Polite, helpful and courteous service in addition to the tasty food keeps us coming back. We tried breakfast, the pancakes were especially light and fluffy- yum- The usuals are fajita plates and enchilada plates. They are always good. Theempanadas are a treat. Dine in or to go, with reasonable prices, this Halal restaurant is worth trying.
Chilaquiles breakfast was delicious! Excellent service !
Great food, owners were super friendly, helpful.
I came here because of the yelp reviews and I can tell you this restaurant definitely does not deserve a 4.5 star rating. I ordered a combination plate with a chill Reno and Beef enchilada. It was terrible. The Chile Riano was filled with fake cheese The enchilada tasted old And the rice and beans were cold. The Employee made a point to tell me that he had thrown in some chips. He might as well have kept the chips because they were stale and chewy. I had a few bites and threw my entire plate away it was disgusting.
Amazing food and amazing service, great option for halal
Now this Restaurant is open at 7:00 AM and closing at 8:00 pm.We have Western Style & Mexican Breakfast in the morning. Customer likes our Pancakes and Waffles. We recommend you to try this food once.We will be happy to inform you that Coffee or Tea is free in the morning. So dont delay please visit our restaurant with your family and friends. Thanks
Great food and great service! We got the wet burrito and empanada— both were fantastic and portions were very generous.
Food wasnt too bad. Decent portions & tasty. But the menudo needed HELP...
I ordered the chicken flautas, very delicious! This is a hidden gem.
I came here with friends while fasting. When the food came out, the owner himself graciously provided us with dates, water, smoothies, watermelon and a sweet rice pudding, all on his own and for free. Very nice and humble owner. I had the Super Burrito and it was delicious. The canerasada was tender (some chewy bitsbut overall tender and juicy. I also had the whole picante chicken. I was expecting more of a kick to the chicken, but it was still good. Owner also provided us with complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was much more spicy than expected.Overall worth a try. Best of all, the meat is Halal/Kosher/Zabiha.
The foods are in Great amount of quality and quantity. Our kids loved their food👌 Once a week👏
Worst place ever the daughters that work for the dad that cooks are really rude if you ask for a soup they serve you and no small small container if its large and if you say something they throw you out they dont want you there so worst experience ever the soup is to go
I came too early before they opened but the man was nice enough to make me some empanadas, which where amazing will be coming back.
I ordered shrimp tacos from here and they were amazing good price good quality and good taste and very good service I would recommend everybody to stop by and try the tacos !
The food is not bad, I will say, but it is not the best either. The hummus that comes with rotisserie chicken is not hummus, its mayonnaise with a bit of hummus. We bought tacos and no salsa was added to our order. The service is really bad, the person who attends the cashier is rude, his answers are curt and his tone is very unfriendly.
It was so great experience! Really so delicious food and so clean ! You can feel a test! I’m so excited to get back so soon ! Keep up !
This place used to serve delicious Mexican food. The old owners are very much missed. The menudo was watery/bland and barely had any tripe. I also ordered an empanada for my mom and she couldn’t even finish it because it also lacked a lot of flavor and dry.
Very tasty halal mexican food. Hassan was very nice and attentive. Excellent nachos and empanadas as well as spicy salsa. Would definitely recommend.
Had the luck to find this place on our drive home. Salsas were good, chips were warm and extra crunchy. Horchata was great! Fish and shrimp tacos had lots of fish and shrimp. They were absolutely delicious. The carne asada fries were extra cheesy. None of the food was greasy which is always great. Host was very friendly. Will be coming back when we are around this area.
The beef burrito and fish tacos were great. The chipotle sauce and salsas are amazing. Chips are extra crunchy will definitely be back God willing to try the chimichanga. Syed is a great host.
The service is courteous, food is nicely plated and cooked the way you ordered and the menu variety please not only your hunger but your budget (check for the specials)... Youll be back! 😀👍
Simply amazing to find a place that serves halal Mexican food. The foods really good. Would definitely recommend empanada, taquitos, and fajita. The owners commitment to halal, and good food is really commendable.
Wow food here was awesome! Great halal Mexican food, service was great 👍 We had the super burrito, fajitas, tamales, asada fries, and empanadas. All tasted great, especially the empanadas!! Also had chai which was delicious.
Sorry old owners need to come back. Food was not bad but my daughter and I got sick. Thank god Living Spaces has the best private restrooms ever. Sorry we won’t be back.
Had a really great experience dining in here. Good service, yummy food.Recommend ordering the fajitas supreme. Very flavorful and the plate comes with a lot of sides and condiments.
I decided to order from this place because it was one of the highest rating restaurant on google. I was disappointed when I went to go pick up my food. I saw that they were selling Hibiscus water, it was in a fridge seemed like it had been their for a few hours maybe even a day. I asked how much it was and he was unable to tell me. He said to me it did not matter. Honestly, I thought he was just going to gift it to my, however he went on to charge me $4.00 for it!! Mind you it was a 8oz drink. I told him to remove it not because he was charging me but because I was not going to pay that much for a drink. He then said he would take off 2 dollars. Anyway, besides that the food was not great at all. Seemed like it was made 2 days ago and reheated.
Super fast and kind service. Saeed was very helpful, friendly, and engaging. The food was also delicious and reasonably priced. Id absolutely come by again!
The food is delicious and the portion are huge . It might feel a dollar or 2 pricier than the average Mexican food place but the portions are generous in meat which is not usual with other mexicain food places. Special mention to the tamales and the EMPANADAS , OMG they are out of this world ( I recommend to order extra sauce with it because you just can’t get enough of that sauce)The customer service is great!
Omg! Very good halal mexican food. Im on a miserable trip to California and this place put a smile on my face ☺. Very nice staff. I cant say enough. 😁😁😁$2 tacos
Came here because it had a 5 star rating. It did not disappoint! The good was good, the portions were huge, and the owner was extremely nice. Bonus that its halal
Brilliant food brilliant service. We really liked it. The portions were huge we couldn’t finish. I would suggest everyone should try it. And special thanks to mr Ahsan.
Lovely family-owned business offering quality halal Mexican food at reasonable prices. Food was delicious and the service very courteous and thoughtful.
I had the two crispy taco plate and it was amazing. Give this place a try, I was supposed to see a Mexican halal place and the meat was amazing. The beef empanadas with mustard sauce was also delicious.
Recently this restaurant is under new management and became a halal restaurant, it should say certified zahiba halal on the window. That is enough for 5 stars, then you add good food and large portions. What more do you want?
This restaurant was great over a year ago, too bad my family and I didn’t stop by before the owners sold the place.I ordered the flautas, but they were soggy and the beef was over salted.I ordered the shrimp in garlic which were undercooked and bland. My mom ordered a menudo, which seemed from a can. I believe she said it tasted like the Juanitas brand, which I suppose she likes. My dad ordered the mole. It looked like rotisserie chicken with the mole over it.My little sister ordered a cheeseburger. She has never not finished her cheeseburgers. We all just ate what we could of our food, trying to make the best of it then left. The new owner was nice when we went in, it’s just the food isn’t the same, and that’s the whole point of a restaurant.I miss the girls! My parents and I would frequent their restaurant and we were all really sad to discover that the restaurant was no longer theirs. They made Las Palmas feel like you were having a meal at a family members home, con calma y confianza. I wish I knew how they were doing, I really hope they are well.
Friendly Service. Food was hot, even by the time I got home a few minutes later. Everything was packed appropriately and with care.
The food here is superb. They have a great combination of price to value. The empanadas are huge and only 3 dollars which at other restaurants you get much less empanada for more money. If youre ever in the area and wanna try some really good food just come on in. The workers there are also really nice!
Came to order take out after work. Ordered 2 cheese enchiladas w/rice & beans and a Chile relleno burrito. Cost just under $20.00. I must admit we ate all of it. Very delicious!
They have a really good service and food is good not great. I didn’t really like the menudo from this place. Other than that everything was good. Good service and good food and good snacks. I will come back again if I’m on the area
Thursday’s never disappoint...The fish tacos were dressed in a White House sauce and were Devine. I couldn’t help myself and had to stop at 4. It’s a family owned restaurant, and, the items on the menu weren’t expensive.
There are so many family-owned mexican restaraunts out there that are garbage-quality and taste awful. I am so relieved to say this place is NOT one of those restaurants! If you are in the area looking for some tasty food for a good price, stop by Las Palmas. The food is really good and tastes home cooked! I decided to try the enchiladas suizas and the veggie wet burrito. Both were excellent. I liked how half of the burrito was red and the other half green. If that was not enough sauce, I had a bowl of homemade salsa and green and red sauce in syrup containers. Because everything was so good, i decided to try their small order of guacamole. Also tasted homemade. My server was kind and knowledgeable of the menu and was able to answer a barrage of annoyingly specific questions asked by the group of people sitting in front of me.Prices are very inexpensive! I would have been willing to pay 2 dollars more for the entrees after tasting how good they were.
My favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. The service is fast and extremely friendly. The chef makes delicious food. The salsa is to die for! Not a fancy place, but if you are in the neighborhood and looking for a great hole in the wall type restaurant, I highly recommend that you give Las Palmas a try.I always get chips and salsa to go from here. Perfect to munch on with a cold beer while watching Los Clippers or Los Dodgers.
Who knew duarte had a authentic Mexican joint.Very plentiful, meat is marinated. Has a very good taste to it. Love it!
