Las Margaritas in Glenwood Springs

Service was weak.... food took to long to come out, the crab legs were COLD, and food was just ok, and the young lady seem to not want to be there.... so if youre reading this go somewhere else.

Food was horrible as well as we ordered take out and they didn’t give tortillas or any kind of sauce. Just dry meat and nasty burritos

Our server was attentive and made us DELICIOUS house margaritas! We had fajitas combo and a combination dish. It all was very good.

God bless the hard working waiter who hustled around handling things as well as he can. he was polite and hard working. the salsa was 6/10 and chips were great. Food was good. VERY AFFORDABLE OMG. GO HERE

Not sure the place is open anymore… I have stopped by at 11 a few times and the door is always locked, and today I waited 15 minutes hoping the staff was just running behind… no one came to open the door so I had to move on.

Terrible service. We order drinks from the menu and 3 of them were unavailable, got wrong drinks served. Server was a mediocre who was annoyed because he was working alone! Also said if we didn’t like that he served an adult in a kids cup that we could leave, SO WE DID! NEVER GOING BACK!!

This was absolutely horrible. Wanted to stop in for some margaritas on a hot day and boy what a terrible decision. Margaritas had no flavor, salsa straight out of a can. Keep walking

Great Restaurant!The owner was incredibly nice, the ambiance is exactly what you’d want out of a Family Mexican Restaurant. The food was likewise an absolute delight, fairly price and with big portions, the drinks were also stellar. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re on a road trip, live in town, or are a college student looking for some food a step-up from McDonalds. Can’t recommend it enough

The waitstaff was hustling! Found the portions to be huge. Had tacos al pastor and carnitas and they were very flavorful. This place is not fancy but the food and margs were very tasty and satisfying.

I really wanted to like this restaurant. It was my sons birthday and its a tradition to eat Mexican food on his bday. I read the reviews of previous people and thought Id give it a shot, they were mediocre. Dang I should have listened. The waiter is very nice but extremely forgetful. He forgot my daughters drink, ketchup, enough silverware and so on. The food tastes good unless its the chili relleno. It is coated in an egg cheese batter and intolerable to eat. Also, the margaritas..just stay away from. I ordered a Coronarita and it was watered down margarita with a small Corona. It was extremely dead around 5 PM. Look....just keep moving on. Dont do it.

Their big margarita is nothing but OJ, we added two shots of tequila to it donut tastes like a Marg and it cost us $60 dollars...so no, DO NOT GET IT. We asked if we could do veggie nachos, the server said sure we could but we would be charged Nachos Deluxe, which has meat on it, we would get veggies instead. The bill comes and we get charged for nachos deluxe plus two extra dollars for veggies...that being said, they do have regular nachos on the menu so all they had to do was add these two dollars to the nachos that comes without meat. When I tried to explained that to the server she politely argued with us but did nothing about it. Rip off all around.

I’m giving them a liberal three stars since many businesses are still struggling. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. Menu selection looked way too expansive for how small the place is (can’t be enough room to store and prepare a large variety). My tacos were okay, my wife’s taco salad seemed watered down and possibly from leftovers. Their salsa was nothing like I’ve ever had. Agree with another reviewer tasted like large diced tomatoes with onion and cilantro, but I really liked it! My suggestions would be to dice the tomatoes smaller and strain the salsa and it would be excellent. Overall shrink the menu and just do a good job executing simple recipes with quality ingredients.

The chicken burrito and beef burrito were pretty good. We actually ordered 2 chicken burritos but one was beef. I went with it instead of having it redone. The carne asada our son ordered was really good. The salsa for the chips and salsa needs to be completely redone; it was not good at all. It tastes like they opened a can of diced tomatoes and added some onions and cilantro to it. Other than that, it was a decent experience but not good enough to make us want to go back in the future.

Service was slow. Food come out wrong. Meat was burned. Asked no mushrooms and there was plenty of mushrooms on my plate. Didnt get any refills. Floor was dirty and stayed that way for the entire time I was there.

We ate an outstanding lunch there ordering vegetable fajita and Enchiladas Verdes. The salsa and the rest of the food was homemade and delicious and service friendly! Push front door hard to get in!

Friendly staff, but there was a hair in my food. Makes me wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen.All the food was drenched in cheese and oil, but the Mexican rice was excellent.

The so called salsa wasn’t even salsa it tasted more like watered down cocktail juice. I was using the Tapatío that was on the table rather then the actual salsa which is sad. Don’t let me get started on the food it’s self. The meat wasn’t bad but other then that everything tasted like it was from a can. How can u call yourself a Mexican restaurant when nothing is authentic?

Got delivery of the Fajitas for Two and a side of guacamole to my hotel room while staying in Glenwood Springs. Ive since deleted the pictures but they are on the Facebook review I left. The bags arrived containing two long foil containers, both SOAKED in grease. Grease got all over the rug outside my door where the delivery company left the bags. All over the table inside where I set them. After I cleaned that up, I opened the bags to find even MORE grease--it looked like someone had scooped it directly into the bags. I used every napkin they gave me and a whole stack of Kleenex trying to soak it all up. Half an hour on damage control before I could eat. The fajitas themselves are okay, I thought each kind of meat was cooked well. Not nearly enough peppers and onions. The cheese was a solid, greasy blob. And instead of the flour tortillas I ordered, there were seven corn tortillas...in "Fajitas for Two." The serving was huge and lasted me for five meals, which is fitting for the price. But I spent another half an hour cleaning up grease again after eating. Any place should be ashamed to send a delivery order out like that.

Great food and service. We asked them to just bring us a plate of Ceviche and chip and they don’t have it on the menu, and it was so good. The Mole enchiladas are really good and my wife has the carne asada that was giant. Good food and better service. 5 stars no doubt.

I feel bad about rating one star and Im giving them 2 because service was attentive. Honestly the food was bland. This was not at all authentic Mexican food. American cheese was added instead of Mexican cheese and beans on all orders were only boiled no salt or seasoning. The margarita tasted like juice. My family and I are Mexican and this was disappointing to say the least. The restaurant is run by MEXICANS🤷‍♀️. Sorry but Im just being honest, by far the worst Mexican weve had. Reviews of 4 or 5 stars are being given by locals that dont know what Mexican food is or should be like.

Stopped in for a couple drinks and some Nachos. The service was horrible they had one lady that was the bar tender, hostess, and waitress. I ordered the pina colada which was watered down and had a gross bitter taste. Ordered Nachos that were soggy and gross. I wouldn’t recommend there are way better places within 5 minutes.

Good food. Good service. Good drinks! What else could you ask for?

We read several negative comments, however we decided to try it and we are so glad we did! Our server was very friendly and made us feel welcome. The food was top notch. It was hot and delicious. We will be sure to eat there again on our next trip.

It depends on the server and how chef is doing that day. Yesterday food and service was great. It was so good I decided to go a second day, but today food and service was terrible. I was si disappointed 😞. I orders were wrong. We had to ask for refills. Yesterday our sopes had guacamole and today it didnt. Our mojarra rellenos had pulpo Yesterday but not today. When we asked they said they didnt have any. We should of been told when we ordered that they didnt have those items to accompany our meals. Also we were told that they didnt have chips and salsa but another table received some. Complete disappointment

Visited on July 25, 2020. Staff was friendly but very disorganized. Had a total of 2 drinks and it took 15 minutes to get first one, and another 15 to get second one. After done with second one (before dinner entree even came outwas never asked if I wanted another drink. They don’t offer (or were out?chips and salsa as a starter. So I had to order an appetizer. There’s Only two employees stomping and rushing from table to table (even with limited seating due to covid). They worked same tables and were unsure what one another was doing or what requests received from my table. I was charged $82.00 for myself and my brother. Needless to say I didn’t tip, I didn’t even eat my dinner out of the frustration, and I walked out. Disappointing that a restaurant in such a prime spot on a main downtown street is so lacking in efficiency.

Our salsa looked like it came out of a can. The rice and refried beans were old. My pinto beans were hard, the tea tasted like it was brewed from last week.My husbands green peppers were hard as well as the steak. The margarita tasted like it was watered down. My son said his Coke tasted watered down as well. The place was like a ghost town that should of be the first clue that we should of went somewhere else. I even asked a local what was the best Mexican restaurant to eat dinner at she said this place. Maybe it was good at one time.

My family and I were staying in Glenwood in came in around lunch time early afternoon there was literally no other people dining in the facility while three employee sat at the bar area it was myself , and husband and our baby a gentleman brought out chips and salsa and got our drink order and brought that back we waited for a good ten minutes at least and our order was never taken and we were ignored by other customers that have came in and ordered first we ended up paying for drinks and leaving was not impressed At All by this place ended up going to the other little Mexican restaurant in town called tequilas and had a great experience

The service was terrible. The staff paid more attention to the phones and their own conversations than their customers. The food was sub par at best and the margaritas tasted like pure triple sec.

Staff stood at the bar and had a gossip session. Staff were not ate attentive at all. Food was overlooked and did not taste great, while the drinks were created poorly. Seek better options when in glennwood springs

This place is no Mexican restaurant at all, food is terrible! I guess they cant find good ingredients... Also the service is really bad, the server didnt even know what a sparkling lemonade is! And when I explained it to him he made a face of disgust, like it would be such an inconvenience for him to mix lemonade with mineral water or sparkling water, he ended up bringing me a glass of lemonade and a can of mineral water for me to mix.....I will never go back to this place or recommend it.

Came in from out of town for a wedding and had a bigger party of people with us. They sat us immediately. We were hesitant because they were empty at 7 pm on a Friday. The food was great! Portions were very large. Beans and rice were blah but the entrees were very tasty and flavorful. The staff were nice and genuinely seemed happy we were there.

We had been planning to go there all week, we went shortly after opening. Sign said open, and the door was obviously opened. We walk in the lights are dimmed, there was one guy drinking at the bar with nobody else in sight. We asked are you open, he said "No, we open at 11[am]". I checked my watch, it was well after 11.

Should have taken the hint when we were the only ones in the restaurant at 6pm on a Saturday evening. The refried beans were super watery and flavorless. The chicken fajitas had a very strange texture. The server was friendly but unattentive despite us being the only people in the restaurant.

Of all the Mexican food in this area of Glenwood Springs, this establishment has the BEST MADE TO ORDER old fashioned style south of the border food. Perfect presentation and blissful explosion taste in your mouth. Definitely going back. You will not be disappointed.

Authentic Mexican food. The best place in town. The portion are generous and the price is right. They provide you with home made salsa and home made tortilla chips. Parking on Grand could be hard to find a open parking spot, but you will be able to find street parking off Grand.

Please dont. The margaritas are pure sugar diabetes in a glass. No thought put into these. The chips are thick, hard, and unenjoyable. We decided not to delve further into the food and instead left. Bathrooms were disgusting. One friendly, happy, but harried waitress and several unhappy customers.

Unfortunately I cant tell you how the food tastes because when we walked in at 8:45 PM on Saturday night we were told they were closed. Their listing on google and their door states 11:00 PM on Saturdays. The young girl said yeah we need to change that. We went to the Mexican restaurant down 1 block and across the street where we had an awesome meal. While walking back to our hotel after dinner we noticed the open sign was still lit and people were still inside. Will not give Las Margaritas another chance.

This is honestly the worst Mexican food I have ever had. There quote refried beans were mashed beans in water. The rice was way under cooked and had no flavor the chicken enchiladas were dry and cold. When presented to the waitress her reply was “I’m sorry I don’t do the cooking and when I cook at home it doesn’t look like this. Would you like another drink”? Seriously not good food or service. The dos equis was the only good thing.

Don’t eat here. The food is terrible, it is the worst Mexican food I have ever had. The locals will say that the food is good it’s not, unfortunately they just don’t know what good Mexican food is. Our server asked how everything was and I said terrible and the food looks like dog throw up. I asked how the Pork Carnitas are cooked was told they are fried, no they were boiled and extremely cold and dry. The refried beans were literally pieces of beans in water. The server even said yeah I wouldn’t eat that. Thought for sure the manager would come over, nope not one word. Save yourself the money and don’t eat here. Don’t listen to the locals.

First impression was how dirty the restaurant was ! We should have taken that as a sign to go somewhere else . The margaritas tasted like watered down sugar water served in a beer glass . Ordered a Chile relleno and came out as a Chile Omlette .....I guess that it what you would call it ?!?!? I have never had a relleno that was wrapped in an egg ! Awful . So much potential here for a great local Mexican restaurant, too bad

One of these stars is for the awesome waitress. The other is because theres a one star minimum. The food was not good. Cheese enchiladas were not cooked through, with cold, unmelted cheese inside... like refrigerator cold. (How do you mess up cheese enchiladas??The beans were watery. The rice was bland and dry, and appeared to have a couple spoonfuls of frozen peas and carrots tossed in for color. The tilapia salad was 90% iceberg lettuce, 10% non-lettuce. The mango seemed to have been soaked in a syrup, not fresh. The tilapia was tough on the edges, possibly overcooked or microwaved, seemed to have been reheated and not fresh. At $12.25, the salad was a horrible value. And $4.50 for a 12 oz can of Tecate. ☹ Bathroom was clean-ish, but the toilet seat was barely hanging on and the soap had a date written on it indicating a date from six months ago (??).

I am baffled at some of these reviews. I am a local and I LOVE this place! The chicken crunchy taco are AMAZING! They make their own tortilla shells! I run a shop close by and we order from Margaritas at least three times a week! Any dish with their marinated shredded chicken has to be delicious, because their chicken is ridiculously flavorful! If you are one of those that reads the reviews, take it from a local, this place is great!

It was great experience from the drink we had to the food. The staff was super friendly and professional. It was a great place to celebrate a birthday.

While there was nothing outstanding about this restaurant the staff was nice, atmosphere cozy and the food was OK. Great place to duck into for a quick bite or sharing of appetizers.

We have been here a few time when we are in the neighborhood. Their cheese enchiladas were flavorful, good portions. I love drinking rice water (horchataand theirs is fairly good. My husband had a well cooked steak with a side of beans and rice, he normally asks for corn tortillas and a Pacifico beer. Over all a great visit and as always their staff was attentive.

This place was about a 15 minute walk from the Glenwood Springs hotel and springs. Nice and easy to find using gps.We were promptly greeted and told to choose a seat. He took our drink orders immediately. Spoke Spanish to my wife who is Native and I answered back, he looked surprised. Lol.We got our drinks, chips, salsa and some type of shredded lettuce, tomatoes and onion with a nice dressing. I liked it, different. Wife and I both ordered 2 combination dinner; she had the Chili rellenos and shredded beef enchilada. Chili Relleno was okay, battered in sopapilla breading (didn’t like). The shredded beef was tasty and came in big chunks. Rice was tender and the whole beans was good but over-peppered. Crispy beef taco was okay; homemade shell was crisp, the meat seasoned but was different from a lot of others. Overall 2.5.

I asked a question about the menu and the server (ownertold me to look at the menu. Very rude! I ordered a Tostada and I received a giant shell tostada salad. The owner was the server and when he brought the food he knew it was not correct but told me I could eat it anyway. It was awful. I didnt eat it. I saw him digging chips out of a big blue tub with his armpits hanging on to the sides of the tub (so thats why they were chewy and not fresh). The place was dirty. The bathroom was another ordeal. When the bill came I told him to take my meal off the check because it wasnt what I ordered and I didnt like it. He argued with me but finally took it off. When we paid the rest of the bill he kept the credit card and we had to return for it. He wouldnt even speak to us and I told him he didnt have good customer service. He said that was because I didnt leave him a tip. Well... heres your tip...dont ever eat at this restaurant!

Food extremely greasy. Friers clearly not changed or cleaned regularly.....grease pours out of the ends of taco shells. Chips stale and Server/bartender/maybe manager....unclear really.....to busy watching YouTube videos with another employee to take care of the one table he had at 5pm on a Sunday.

Very delicious! Authentic with a lot of seafood choices. It was not crowded so we were hesitant to sit down. So glad we read the reviews first. There were four of us and we ordered the shrimp ceviche for appetiser..superb! Tacos al Carbon, crispy tacos, garlic shrimp and chicken fajitas...all were excellent. Great family atmosphere. Definitely recommend while you visit Glenwood Springs, CO.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!! the carne asada burrito was JUST carne asada in the burrito only, no lettuce sour cream guacamole onions... u get the point nothing but tortilla and meat. the fajitas i ordered, the meat tasted like a barbeque sauce which is american not mexican id expect a nice spicy type of seasoning not BBQ sauce... they didnt have any french fries for the kids which was supposed to come with the burger i ordered for my kids. i had one bud light beer and when i asked for another one they went to the back then came back and said they dont have any cold bud lights. The service was terrible i had to get the attention of the server EVERY SINGLE TIME i needed something, he left empty plates all over the table unless asked to remove them, and never filled cups. the food took forever to get to the table also. No paper towels in the bathroom. no air dryer. if youre thinking of going here dont!... and according to the reviews of fiesta guadalara and tequilas look like the same problems... if you absolutely have to have mexican just go to taco bell trust me itll be better than this restaurant and cheaper. I have no idea why these people are giving such good ratings..... the good ratings on this restaurant really messed up my night. my wife and I absolutely hated it! WAY OVERPRICED FOR TERRIBLE FOOD AND TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
