Las Hijas De La Tostada Cancún - Seafood restaurant in Cancun, Mexico
The best meal and service we had in Tulum.
Tasteless and very much overpriced food.Probably better as a bar than as a restaurant.Redeeming factors were the beautiful views and decent service.Overall would not recommend.
This was recommended by our spa guy at the Royal Sands, Louis, and he was right! A great local restaurant with great view, food and service, thanks Lil, our server. We had the tuna carnitas and they were spectacular! We cannot wait to go back! Arrechera tacos and chocolate cake dessert were also estupendo! Great place, well be back!
Great food, great service, good prices for the quality.
Food amazing, very good price ( you can easly eat with 15€ per personand quality! (The staff should be more quick.I recomend this place!
The food was amazing. The place was very clean and looked beautiful. Recommend highly
Delicious food, excellent service. Highly recommend. Definitely will go back.
Lovely service, really good tacos and tasty mescal cocktails!
This restaurant exceeded expectations. Amazing service, Amazing food! And a cute view of the dock. And not even expensive! Well worth the prices. I would definitely recommend 👌
My girlfriend and I visited Cancun for just one week and we came to this restaurant for dinner three times because of how amazing the food and drinks are! The staff are extremely friendly too. They have live music on some nights and we were lucky to catch a local band the first time we went, on a Saturday. You MUST try their Amor Tropical cocktail if you’re a fan of mezcal and want a drink. Las Hijas is a total hit!!
Somebody from the staff locked my 67 yrs old husband in the bathroom for 10 min..after I complained to the hostess some waiters were laughing.. probably not because of us but we felt insulted... Also I asked to seat in a water front table hostess said it was reserved.. but none sat there for 40 min. Food was great as usually and my waitress was great... But sadly it was a bad experience
Great dinner with friends. Atmosphere is casual and staff is super friendly. Food was great! Will definitely be back. Tacos were amazing.
It would be a nice place if they wouldnt be so scammy. They were not satisfied with our tip, they said we have to give higher. They ask for ridiculously high tip (started at 50%). We gave them around 20%. Then we figured out we have paid for items that we never had or for more expensive versions of drinks that we had. Please dont go to this place ever. Or if you go make sure you dont give them any tips.
Food was fairly solid. Was hot and fans didnt work well. I brought in my favorite hot sauce (Marie Sharps from Belizeas no where has it in Mexico. They made us hide the sauce throughout the meal. Who does that??? Its not like they were selling their own hot sauces or anything. Very very strange.
This is an excellent place in Cancun to eat authentic food from Yucatán. It is a very local restaurant away from the tourist crowds with a great value and amazing food. The staff is very friendly and they provide very quick service.Don’t leave without trying one of their “aguas frescas.” My favorite was Mango but they have some of the more common ones like Horchata. As far as the food, you can’t go wrong. But Caldo de Lima is a must. You won’t regret it. A taxi from the hotel zone will charge you around $10-$15 but it is definitely worth it. They do take cards. Don’t forget to leave a generous tip if you enjoy the food and service.
A pretty place right next to the lagoon. Wide open with a nice roof yet great ventilation. The food is served promptly and it is scrumptious. Didnt try the alcoholic beverages but they have a variety of non alcoholic ones. Will go again.
Delicious fresh food, super friendly staff, great music, good prices and chill vibes make this place a definite win. The cold and hot tostadas are all amazing. And it s by the lagoon side with a view.
Fresh fish is wonderful just the right flavors to make is delicious!
We tried seafood soup and mixed tostada. Food was bland, average flavor. This place was highly recommended and it did not measure up to expectations. Our waiter was not very helpful about explaining the dishes on the menu.
Very delicious tostadas with a huge selection of them! You can watch different sports games there..I was able to catch the Superbowl when I visited. Great service also! Ill be back.
If in Cancun and are looking for tostadas or good seafood, this is the place to go!! It was a cool experience with a beach-y vibe. On the lagoon and spectacular sunset viewing opportunities as it’s on the second floor
I’m sure the food would have been good. Staff /manager wanted to place us in-front of the live band, between two speaker on full blast. Made no reasonable efforts to assist us with a quieter and more comfortable seating area. Walked right out to another establishment down the street.
Food is ok nothing great. Order 3 ceviche tostadas only since we only wanted something light before dinner, for 3 of us . It took 10mins to get 1 tostadas and 10mins more for that rest. Waiter wanted us to order alchol drinks we decline he got upset. We ask for that check and he said to make sure to leave a tip . Pay and give him tips .he turn around and said he didnt take anything less that 20% .we didnt spend more that 30min in there and that services was bad. Tip amount was 15% . I never been in a restaurant that a waiter refuse tips before. I believe tips are base on service.2 starts because food was ok and location has great views.
First off, get the octopus! My host recommended this restaurant, which is above the convenience store (OXXO). The food was good, the staff was extremely friendly, and the ambiance was nice. The location is on the water and the bus line so be sure to enjoy the hotel zone before or after your meal.
I should start by saying that this place has wonderful decor, vibes and overall ambiance. The food however is less than mediocre. My gf and I are huge seafood fans and while we enjoyed the ceviche, the rest of the food was disappointing and less than mediocre. The salmon dish was grilled hot on the outside and very cold in the centre. The server insisted that this was how it was meant to be prepared - extremely doubtful). Both times I was here, the servers were dismissive and further never told us that the gratuity was included (other reputables places let the customers know). They even went as far as printing an incorrect, non itemized receipt twice (I gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time but clearly they are trying to take advantage of tourists. Please be warry - not worth the time, money or effort.
Food was hit and miss. Drinks were good, great atmosphere and interior, but loud from traffic. Service overall friendly, but our waiter Ricardo left a very bad impression, being a bit of a bully. It ruined our experience, unfortunately.
Very mediocre food, and the tortilla chips were hard and manufactured. One waiter (not the one who had been serving uscrossed out the pre-included tip on the receipt saying it was tax, and tried to get us to pay additional tip. We wouldnt have tipped because of that, but our actual waiter seemed new and very nice, it was some other waiter trying to get more tips. Very scummy.
Excellent food, drinks, atmosphere, and service. Decent prices too, were definitely coming back while vacationing in beautiful Cancun.👍
We stopped here many times for dinner. The atmosphere was always pleasant and the Food was always great. My favorite dish was the mixto ceviche or the octopus 🐙 👍 The staff was always friendly and attentive.
Okay I have to say it is delicious, not greasy or makes you feel like you gotta regret what you have!. I had a hamburger fusion and it surprised me. It was filled w both beef and fish and wow! The texture and taste is amazing! Highly recommend for a nice relaxing place to end your date night or a night with your family. (Enjoy the live music too)
Nicely decorated spot. Reasonably priced seafood options
First I forgot to take pictures, I posted them straight to my IG story but I managed to get this last shot of some of the best oysters I’ve ever had!!! The ceviche with tuna, salmon and shrimp was bomb! Everything was very flavorful. Definitely recommend coming here and ask for Arnold. He was an excellent server, as well as the bartender was very pleasant.
Arrived less than 45 minutes before closing and was advised kitchen closed at 930 although google maps stated they were open until midnight which was a bummer as we didn’t get a chance to order dessert or additional beverages but the drink and shrimp cocktail were delicious. Will definitely visit again to try a few additional items on their menu.
I highly recommend this place. It was recommended by the receptionist at the hotel I was staying. I had their pescado, aguachiles, and camaron tostadas. The best tostadas, full of flavor. Had to return for a second try, and the food was great again, the place looked very busy, but still the food was the best. I even had the opportunity to talk to the manager over a little incident but they immediately made everything alright. Definitely will be back and will bring my best friends to try it out.
My go to spot when Im in this are of Cancun. Authentic Mexican food with a nice lil fancy twist. I really should take pics of my food before I write these reviews lol. Look, there are an insane amount of Mexican restaurants on the strip, this is definitely one of the best. Place a nice vibe. Great service!
If you’re in Cancun, you definitely have to check this place out! I kept passing by it until one day finally got the chance to try it. One of the best tostadas I’ve tasted as they’re loaded with flavour. It’s literally a mountain of fresh ingredients on top of a tostada! The rest of their menu looks delightful but I’ve yet to try it all. The staff and service is exceptional! The waiter checked on me regularly and even brought over bug spray without me even asking as he noticed mosquitoes around. I gave my compliments to the manager who evidently leads his team with excellence—thank you! (My photos are from different days as I had to return and show my friend the great experience I hadI’ll definitely be back soon! :)
SUPERB! They also have an amazing view of the lagoon! Highly recommended
Really liked it. The drinks were absolutely amazing. They were all suggested to us and were on point. They have a wide variety of cocktails, wine and beer, so theres something for everyone. We had mostly tostadas and tacos as we were there for a light lunch, and they were all very good. The aguachile was spicy! The place is very beautiful and beachy decorated, with a lovely view of the Nichupté lagoon.Service was good and friendly, bathrooms were clean.Lots of stairs for going in, I dont think its wheelchair-friendly.
The food was very delicious! We had tuna tacos, rellenos, ceviche tostadas.
Beautiful view to the marina! Friendly staff and nice decor. Food was not spectacular it was just ok—it was lacking flavour.
I wanted to try something other than Mexican and came across this spot close to where I was staying. The spot was super cute and we were served by a nice waitress. For drinks I ordered the red wine which I enjoyed. When it came to the meal I had trouble figuring out what I wanted. I ended up ordering a burger. The waitress came out and said they can make the burger into sliders because the bread was more fresh which I understood. When the food came out it looked tasty but it was not so good. I didnt like the tatse and the fries were way too salty. My friend enjoyed her coconut shrimp. It did smell good. The cost was affordable but the food was not so great. My experience was rather mediocre.
Very nice place to eat at the side of the lagoon. The tostadas and tacos have very interesting flavors. Try them all!
The Atunsitto and the Aguachile tostadas are insanely good!!! Also the coconut shrimps to share is something you should try.
This is an amazing place with wonderful waiters and delicious food. Shrimps were tender and covered in creamy sauce. Tostada with tuna and pineapple were perfectly balanced with the pastor sauce and tostada was ideally cripsy. We also had mushroom stuffed with caprese and, again, perfect sweet balsamic and guac. Last but not least, chrispy tuna with guac, the fish was like eating through a marshmellow, very tender and delicate. Best experience EVER! Definitely would recommend and we will go there again!
Seafood was very fresh. Flavors are on point. Seasoning was very good on everything we ordered. There is a beautiful view of the harbor as well as an added bonus.
Wow very nice place beautiful with great Food and excelent Service, for sure i Will come back😁✌️🤗
Lovely seafood restaurant with great options and drinks! Dont miss the chorizo tacos made out of tuna, theyre delicious! :)
Really friendly waitress and great service. Also if youre a fan of ceviche, youll love the tostadas.
Great view and delicious food with even better drinks. Amor verdadero and wine lipstick are two great options.
A lovely place on the lagoon, nice and airy, though do spray for mosquitoes before going. 99 pesos for a shot of Bacardi is too high in my opinion. We were in a large group and the service was disjointed and they didn’t separate checks which made it very difficult. We ended up leaving after one drink since we had to pay the tab within 10 minutes of arriving. The food didn’t appear to be as “fresh” as the menu stated but rather frozen as the fish and chips were all completely identical.
