Las Catalinas B&B - in Penonome, Panama
An unbelievable concept. A beautiful planned community on a gorgeous hillside on a beautiful Costa Rica 🇨🇷 beach. It cant get any better than that. There are hotels., homes to buy, stores, restaurants, all the recreational activities you would want. I cant wait to come back with my entire family.
Love it!
We are here for my brothers wedding and everything has been wonderful.
There is construction going on all over the project and a new development being built across the street. Loud noise all day. Feels like downtown Los Angeles.
Really nice place but they have all prices in dollars and no place to get clean water to wash unless u are staying in the place
I might not go home!
Lovely place!I went for a walk and it felt really nice. The staff was very kind even though I was not staying there. The architecture is beautiful and really cool for taking pictures and videos. After that, you can go to Danta Beach which is next to it and you can get there through the paths they have. You will love visiting this place! 😌👌
High prices for very poor quality food and service in most places, nonetheless, Infrastructure is impressive.
Beautiful town worth the visit! The buildings and plazas really give a European vibe! Very safe with security everywhere! I recommend getting coffee and pastries at THE Bakery! Super delicious and not expensive considering how good that iced coffee and almond croissant was 😊
This hotel located in Playa Danta looks like an Italian Villa with a wonderful architecture. The beach has black sand and its easy to enter the sea.
the best place in guanacaste to swim, walk in an italian atmosphere and eat in a delicious restaurant
Stunning re-creation of Italian / Grecian township architecture. Beautiful pool, beach club, restaurants - must-visit list for sure
I kept trying to take photos but there is nothing that can do this place justice! I have never stayed anywhere as nice in my entire life, not even the fancy all inclusive resorts. This place is unique and mind-blowing. I cant recommend it enough!
Great place to spend time with your family
The Spanish restaurant was really good! Top quality. Try the “cochinillo”!
Beautiful village with great architecture! Absolute pleasure to visit this village. Great restaurants there as well. Highly recommend.
This place is absolutely beautiful….January is a perfect time to visit. You don’t necessarily have to leave the property in order to enjoy Costa Rica. Charles Webber created a community that leads nothing to the imagination. Come stay awhile and enjoy!
Amazing place, spanish style architecture. A beautiful place
Very cool architecture, great rooms, pools, service, and beach.
Stopped by early for a morning beer, stayed long enough to have snacks. I had the pork spear, wife had ceviche with shrimp, both were great. Cool little town, great vibe.
The whole vibe here is so laid back and the location is gorgeous 😍 the waves are a tad rough at the beach which is Playa Danta but there is a short trail that leads to Playa Dantita where the waves are much calmer. If you can afford it, I highly recommend staying at one of the hotels or vacation homes. There are also shops, restaurants, and a gym so theres much to do!
We spent a week at Las Catalinas. Our party consisted of 6 adults. The home was every bit as beautiful as in the photos. The food was outstanding. The service was exceptional, Daniel at Limonada and Emerson, from the bakery helped make our trip the complete success it was
Honestly such a beautiful spot, great little beach, some nice restaurants and the sand area they have with hammocks and other activities is a fantastic idea to keep your little ones busy whilst you sit and enjoy a coffee
A guard was chasing us and told us we had to use a mask to when everyone else around was not. I felt miss threaded and leave, I have gone there a few times and have spend lots of money drinking cocktails and eating but I am not going back.
It is a gorgeous town. Clean. I really enjoyed it.
Amazing location, beautiful updated rooms. The rooftop terrace negative edge pool is exceptional. People are very helpful and kind. Wonderful visit.
The tuna wrap, it was delicious. We also had chips and guacamole, also good. Very nice nice to sit in the shade of the trees with a cocktail.
Amazing, espectacular, increíble place. Resort in a exotic location. Amazing restaurants and the beach is private and so beautiful. It is a luxury place built in a spanish colonial type buildings. Highly recommended
This is one of muy favorite places in Costa Rica 🇨🇷, you can enjoy 2 beaches: Danda y Dantita, and delicious food. There is a lot of special for parking.
Our stay at Las Catalinas was amazing! The town feels like a mix between Cinque Terre, Italy and Veil, Colorado. Every detail and corner of the community was thoughtfully designed. Las Catalinas’ website says, “its purpose is to create a way of life that is healthy, sustainable, fulfilling, and fun. It’s a place where connecting with other people, and with nature, is easy.” One of the best things about the town is that it was designed in a way where no cars are needed. All the essentials such as housing, hotels, shops, and restaurants, are located directly in town so there isn’t a need to drive anywhere. The town was designed where families and friends could easily socialize and become less isolated. It’s located on the Costa Rican beach with 1,000 acres of surrounding hills for biking and hiking.Las Catalinas would make an amazing full-time home. Perfect for young families and retirement alike, there are properties that are currently for sale. Within our short visit here it was easy to see this Costa Rican getaway becoming a permanent home.
Awesome beach, great 2.5 mile round trip hike up to Pico McHenry and down, with amazing scenic views
Very busy area lots of traffic and heavy machinery in the area. Beautiful buildings and grounds.
Our family planned a special Mother’s Day weekend in Guanacaste. I drove my handicapped mother in law , wife , newborn baby 👶 , maid , brother in law and others for a nice beachfront lunch at Las Catalinas. Upon arriving I politely asked where is the handicapped entrance. Oh sir we don’t have you must park on the road with everyone else - no exceptions. I pleaded with the Manager , Security and can you believe that these people threatened and then called the the police in an attempt to turn my family away. I have pictures and documented the entire belittling experience. The police eventually side with my family. We are not pushovers. Folks this was the most disrespectful experience I’ve had in many years - these people were heartless. I’ve been to this hotel many times for lunch and dinners - the food decent at best but this experience was pathetic. I’m embarrassed for the GM and owner. Charles Brewer should and will be embarrassed.
Resort is amazing and well taken care of. The restaurants arent the best but you can always go to one of the nearby towns for good food.
We will definitely be coming back to this unique village in the heart of Costa Rica. The architecture reminds you of a mix of ski town or a quaint European community.
We went in 2017.....actually went three times in 2017, again in 2018 and going again next week. The little town has grown and changed tremendously since our first visit. I can’t wait to see how much it has changed in this last year.
This place is luxurious and well decorated, we had a minor issue with the bathroom and they charge $5 for extra towels, also you have to pay $15 per day to use the "beach club" area (pools)... Food was delicious portions were more than enough and the price was average... Also playa Danta and Dantitas are really pretty and easy to get to.
Beautiful place to visit. Restaurant is a little pricey for the quality of food produced, however that is a minor oversight.
This is a lovely place to visit and stay in Costa Rica. The rental places are amazing. Casa brewer, specifically is huge and super gorgeous.Would definitely come stay here for a very lovely resort style vacation.
Cool place to go, walk around and have a drink. Black sand beach is so soft, feels like powder!!
Las Catalinas is all of five stars from the moment of arrival. Upon arrival I was escorted into the concierge where they promptly checked me in and brought me and my baggage to the room. From arrival to resort to arriving in my rental home was no more than 8 minutes including walk time! Amazing. Each and every person here is welcoming and friendly. The amenities are great, food is great and drinks are great! I would highly recommend staying at las Catalinas Costa Rica!!!
Beautiful rendition of an Italian town, picturesque, open to public,no cars inside gates, but pricey options for food drinks shopping and spa.lots of air BNB spots for rent on site now, they look beautiful but expensive
The beaches and the view there are simply amazing!! People you see on the street are very nice with you. Dont think about it you just have to visit that place.....
A perfect family vacations on a original beach town in Guanacaste with amazing location just in front of the beach. House rentals and excellent service.
Im not sure if this is the correct Las Catalinas but I was recently in Costa Rica and my boyfriend and I got stuck on a road that we werent actually supposed to take, this was when we encountered a man named Julio from Las Catalinas, he said he was the "Head of Security" at one of the resorts and saw us stuck! He came and got us unstuck with some great car handling skills. We were really in the middle of nowhere, no lights, and it was late, we were actually worried! Out of nowhere Julio and his colleague came to our rescue, PURA VIDA thank you!!!!
This was the most delightful and well planned resort. The beach was far better than any others around. The staff is so kind and the beautiful setting cant be beat. Will definitely return ASAP
This has been the most wonderful vacation ever! The grounds and homes were absolutely beautiful!A truly amazing adventure!
I highly recommend this place its absolutely beautiful, the view is espectacular, the food delicious.....😘 we had a great experience. You can hike and discover beautiful landscapes, or you could rent a bike and explore all this area wich is amazing!, you can surf, swim etc!, there is a beautiful infinity pool, gym, shopping stores, and a really good restaurant named la Limodada!, all the staff at La Limonada are super friendly and they give you the best service!, special thanks to Christian from la Limonada because he made us feel special but that is because he is super friendly with everybody and has such a great charisma😃, all the staff at this beautiful beach town is amazing!!! Thank you for everything!!!
Las Catalinas is one of those places that you visit the first time and for sure you will return several times, the beautiful architecture of the town, the luxury inside of each house and the best, their staff, 100% customer service oriented. The beach is perfect for swimming and other water sports, one of the best trails for mountain biking.
The best hotel ever!!!Highly recommend it!
